2nd day - 2 miles...I am so excited! It actually felt GOOD this time I can't wait to run again!! My only problem is that I am definitely not a morning workout person; however, I HAVE to take a shower in the morning. So, I'm having to take two showers/day which might get old kinda fast. But...whatever it takes...I am going to do this!

Good luck with your running girls (guys?)...I don't know anyone well enough yet to really offer personalized support, but I promise I will when I get everything figured out

Hi runners!

Sorry to hijack your chat thread, but I have a quick question about a mystery leg pain. I'm pretty sure this is a sprint-related 'injury' (from doing HIIT on the treadmill) but I also feel it when I go on my regular outside runs. The pain is below my calf muscle but above my ankle, inwards of my shin bone. It's slightly swollen and sore to the touch and has been since last Saturday. Anyone know what this is or have experienced something similar? I'm not even able to identify the body part and it just strikes me as extremely bizarre.

.

Good morning!! Just posting to hold myself accountable...today I did my 2 miles in 26 min (45 seconds faster than yesterday). I was actually exhausted this time, while the last couple of times I felt like I could have kept going...I think because I ran at 6:30 this morning and I am NOT a morning workout person. I think I mentioned that before? But...now, I feel great!! I think I'm in love with running

Hi Baffled - I just recently hijacked as well! I don't have any opinions to offer (sorry!) but have you called the advice line at your doctor's office? Maybe they have some ideas?? Whatever you do, be careful until you know exactely what's going on BTW - way to go on being smokefree! That is AWESOME!!!!

Hi all

I'm still around, slowly building mileage, and getting ready to start a half-marathon training programme... not to run one (!) just to build mileage.

Chat soon - how ya'll doing? Kara - where's your running girl at?

It is a gorgeous sunny day here today so I did a nice easy 3 miles outside.

Have a happy Easter, all!

HeatherAngel - Way to go on your three miles!!! That's my ultimate goal right now, but so far I just about fall on my face after two!!!

I only ran one mile this morning because my 3 year old woke up early and I'm definitely not able to run with distractions at this point...I'm hoping to take him for a nice walk (in his stroller so we can go at my pace!) and then maybe some weights. I seem to be losing a lb every other day, but I'm a little worried that it's slowing down because I'm not eating enough calories now that I'm running...but that's for another thread

Have a great day ladies...and a Happy, Happy Easter!!!!

I kind of got away from posting in February after going out of town, and I didn't make my goal that month. I didn't set one for March and I know I've missed a couple run days because of this or that. I'll have to go home and see just what I have done. I'm sure I'm nowhere near what I did in January. The weather is getting so much nicer in the mornings (low 60's as opposed to low 40's in January). I actually went out in shorts this morning! Of course, it won't last. Next think I know it'll be 90 degrees at 4:30 AM. Yuck.

Were all the runners kidnapped by aliens? Is there a party we weren't invited to?

I've been doing 50 mins of jogging at a time this week, not sure of the miles, but knowing my pace, probably getting 3-3/4 mi or something like that. I've decided to keep upping my mileage a little at a time, to try and train up for the 12K Sound to Narrows run in June. It's supposed to be a killer with the hills, but the challenge and suffering is kind of the point of that run, from what I hear, so I think it will be a good goal to shoot for. If I like it, I could be an outcast like Ennay, doing distance running and weight training...yeah!

Good morning,

I haven't jogged since my big epiphany on Sat, mostly because there's been a ton going on here (my brother just adopted a newborn and I'm an auntie for the first time!). But I'm planning on putting my sneakers on after I finish my coffee and finish posting. I think my goal is another 3 miles this morning...perhaps outside....

I went back and added up what I've done this month--looks like between 25 and 27 miles so far. I'll get another 5 in before the end of the month.

I haven't been posting because I've been in a bit of a running rut. My leg is still sore and while I can run on it, I'm not sure whether I should be doing. I've got 2 and a half weeks til the marathon and want it to heal rather than making it worse.

I still managed a 10 mile PB on Friday, but other than that I've not really done any runs I've felt particularly good about. I'd like to do my scheduled 18 miler on Saturday, but I'm really not sure whether it would be a good idea at the moment.
