Eastcoastgirl, I'm the same way. During the week I can't run outside at all because I leave my apartment for work when it's dark out and don't get back until... it's dark out again. NYC is a tricky place to run!
Also, this may be a better topic for the cool runner's thread, but do you tend to run on the streets? Concrete is supposed to be so bad for you, but I don't really see any alternatives for me here other than the reservoir in Central Park, which is only a few miles. And I hate having to repeat loops - it's so depressing when you go around the first time thinking "I just have to do this five more times." I've been running up and down Riverside Drive and then heading over to CP and circling it (on East/West drives), but my knees are sore and I thought the concrete might be why. |
Welcome Fluffy, This is your exercise log. You can record whatever miles you want to. I applaud you for walking along with your toddler. When mine were small I made them stay in the stroller unless they threw an exceptionally ugly fit. By allowing him to walk you're giving him the gift of enjoying exercise. Great Job!!
Laura, Nice job on the 12 miles. You're sure to meet your half marathon goal! Eastcoast, Dealing with SAD can be very difficult. I myself have no window coverings at all, because I need for every bit of sunlight to enter my home that possibly can. Especially this time of year. Hang in there. The season will change. Last week it was 6* below zero with high winds. Today it's 46* above with actual thunderstorms!!! Managed to get in 5 miles before the heavens opened. Thankfully my course is rural so there was very little traffic. Fog is so heavy there reporting visibility in car lengths rather than miles. Hello and a kudos to everyone! 20 of 75 miles |

L, What kind of machine are you using that you're not willing to count the entire 5 miles and what's cardio wave?
Fluffy, Great job. You got out there twice yesterday. YGG ! Welcome aboard Chel and sestep I ended up doing an extra mile while waiting for my son to finish up basketball practice last night. It's foggy again here today, but the temps are in the upper 30's so I'm planning 5 miles today. Will amend if I don't get at it. Happy fitness! 26 of 75 miles |
