Helen, that's AWESOME! Good for you!!

I'd look at this Garmin you and Lisa rave about, but I don't run outside, so what's the point? Mind you, I've only set two New Year's resolutions, and one is to run outside more this year!

I'm back up to four miles, and happy with that; will keep building distance instead of speed

Hi everybody, just wanted to pop in and say I'm still here lurking. I dragged myself outside for a walk today. It is much less depressing to walk a route I don't usually run, because the running routes seem to take forever!! My pregnancy is going really well now, 16 weeks and no issues. I miss running though.

One of my New Year's Goals is to run a 5K by the end of 2008. Doesn't sound very challenging, but I have no idea how two kids and a job are going to go, so I'm putting off the 2nd marathon until at least 2009. One of my triathlon club buddies is seriously considering doing an Ironman, if she gives birth 6 weeks prior, so she can get OB clearance to swim. Gasp. The lives of the superfit, I guess. I'll be lucky to walk 2 miles at 6 weeks!

Happy running everyone. Happy New Year.

Anne,
16 weeks! Awesome! Let us know when you feel fluttering, 'kay?

I think I would pass out if one of my patients asked to do an Ironman 6 weeks postpartum. Depending on her history and health I might give my blessing but I would feel incredibly inadequate for the rest of the day.

HeatherAngel,
Nice job on the 4 miles. I also go slow and (sort of) long. It works for me!

DH figured out why what my Nike iPod "says" and what it "shows" is different. The digital printout is in Kilometers. I have decided I want to be British. Looking at my distance in Kilometers feels longer and looking at my weight in kilograms feels lighter. :-)

Hello fellow runners! I know I've been missing in action for a few weeks, but I have a good excuse - I just got back from a vacation to Antarctica. Had a lot of fun playing with the penguins and icebergs, but it was definitely challenging to try to keep up with my running routine - there was a treadmill on the ship, but let's just say that running on a treadmill while the ship is rolling from side to side creates an added degree of difficulty that I didn't care for too much!

Anyway, I have a good motivation to get right back on track (pun intended) as the last thing I did before leaving was to sign up for my second marathon in Napa Valley in March! So, off to a 15 mile run today - I have some training to make up for and soon!

Have enjoyed reading the postings I missed while I was gone - happy holidays to all!

hi everyone,
I've been checking this out for a couple of days. After reading about the
C25K program on the coolrunnings website, I thought I'd check it out. I used to run almost everyday until we moved back to a cold weather state in the middle of winter. But here I am about 20 degrees this morning with snow on the ground and all and I went out for my first C25K session. It felt so wonderful! I thought about jogging more but thought it best to stick to the routine... it's been about 6 years since I jogged at all.
