Okay - I am new to THIS thread - how does it work? Do I post what I plan to do, or what I have done, each day, or for the whole month, or what?

Wow, August already...I AM ready for it! Did my 3 mile walk at the park this morning...glad I went early because it is a hot one, humid too! Also, got my walk in yesterday. Well, a mile on the treadmill and the 2 mile WATP video. Monday was in a mood and didn't get anything done. |

Happyandhealthy - the exercises that showed the most results for me - weight training and the elliptical on a high resistance with varying incline. The weight training has particularly made a difference in the way my body looks. 60 min on the elliptical |

I'm in a very crabby mood today and couldn't force myself to do a proper workout. All I managed was 11 mins running on the treadmill (100 cals...), 3 sets of squats, 3 sets of deadlifts and only 2 sets of DB presses before I gave up and came home. It barely counts as exercise. Oh well.

Baffled - I HATE days like that. Though sometimes if I'm grouchy, NOTHING works better than a run...something about feet hitting pavement beats the grouchy out of me.

I'd love to jump in! Yesterday I did 30 min. of Turbo Jam's Cardio Party and 30 min. of Ab Jam. Today I plan on doing 1 hour of Kathy Smith's Full Body Circuit. All of my workouts (most of them) are from beachbody. TJ and Kathy Smith. Nice to meet you all!

Hey GALS Can I jump in since I have a new treadmill? I see I have some of my favorites over here ~
I can't compete with you AMANDA on the elliptical since I gave it to MY AMANDA.. but I can race you HEATHER on my treadmill :woops: Today, since I took the day off I did 2 5K's...the one this morning was 60 minutes, this afternoon was 51 minutes. On my way!!!! |

Can't remember the last time I posted, lol. I have exercised everyday this week though. Thursday mowed the front and back yard for my exercise...about 1 hour and 10-15 minutes. Friday and today a 3 mile walk at the park and going to ride my bike later...will post that Monday. Sunday I take as a free day but may do something. If I do I will post that as well.

Hi Everyone!
I am new to this site as well as this forum. I am NOT a big exercise fan, never have been. Last year, I lost about 20 pounds wokring out every day for about an hour. However, the second I fell of the exercise bandwagon I gained it all back. SO, I'm getting back into the swing again....at least trying to. I did a 3 mile walk today which was good. I feel silly asking this, but can someone tell me what the WATP video is? I don't know what the WATP stand for. Anyways, I am hoping that this forum can help keep me motivated!! I appreciate all wise words of wisdom and encouragement and promise to return the favor! Hope you all have a great night! Beachgrl07:) |

LBWO (120) Went to the gym in the evening instead of the morning today. I thought I had to take the day off because I had to spend the morning scrubbing the residue of my fire from the kitchen walls, ceiling and cabinets instead of going to the gym. But I was sitting at my desk around 6pm feeling gloomy, and it occurred to me that I could be working out instead. Hooray! My knee felt a bit dodgy though; it's slightly swollen. I ran anyway, and did ballet squats and lunges, but I couldn't manage my hack squats. I'm petrified of blowing out my knee, so I tried to be careful. More cheerily, I did 100lb deadlifts today! A banner day all round, knee and excess cleaning aside, and now I get to eat dinner! |
1 hour playing tennis. Unfortunately, it was punctuated by the homeless man who camps in bushes behind the fence by the tennis courts, watching us quite obviously, talking to himself, and eventually, escalating to name calling and threats (i'm going to <bleep>ing kill you, you <bleep>ing <bleep>, you <bleep>ing wh-re, what the <bleep> are you looking at, <bleep>ing <bleeps>.
This produces a moral issue for me. On the one hand, i realize that people who are homeless often have mental health issues or drug problems that are a contributing cause to their homelessness. On the other hand, I'd really like to be able to play tennis without someone watching, making threats, who knows where I live at least in general terms (the tennis court is at my apartment complex), and the guy has a camp set up there, so now I'm going to wonder if he's watching for me and it makes me really uncomfortable. Le sigh. |
Does your complex have security Amanda? I'd like to say he is probably harmless...but..NO! He has already caused you harm! In my prayers that he goes away!

I hope you go to the office and file a complaint. Isn't it private property? I'm sorry. It would make me very nervous as well. I understand how you're feeling.
I didn't work out this weekend (slapping hand) but got in a good hour of aerobics/kickboxing and ab work. 45 min. of Turbo Jam's Cardio Party 2 and 10 min. of Ab Jam. |

hi, i'm new to this one too. i ran 1.2 kilometers yesterday and sunday, plus did a 20 min aerobic video. i'm taking today off (tho i'll probably go for a 1kilometer walk this evening like i usually do)

I walked 3 miles yesterday but didn't get up this morning (UGH!) Thinking I'll try and get a walk in tonight.
