Angie had a conference this morning, and wasn't able to take Reba and Rylee on their 3 1/2 mile walk/run, so I skipped the treadmill work out and took them on it instead. Got my walk in and saw a beautiful morning :)
|
60 min. of an old Kathy Smith workout called Tone Up. I couldn't keep up at some points but I didn't give up! I'm just glad that's over with!
|
40 minutes - The Firm Ultimate Fat Burning
|
am - 40 min gym workout
pm - 50 min bike ride |
Day off for me today - sore calves form not stretching properly after yesterday's run -! Will try to do 20 minutes of strength training...
|
Yesterday - 60 min on the elliptical.
My knee is making me bonkers (I am going to try to get a dr. appt today, even though i'll probably need to see an ortho), so I may stick with just some strength training today and see how it goes. |
52 minutes - The Firm Bootcamp
|
Nothing yesterday...was in a crappy mood for some reason.
Today...my usual 3 miles at the park. |
30 min. Cardio Party Remix
30 min. Booty Sculpt and Abs oops, had to change the name of the second workout. Brain fart!! |
OK, peeps. I'm taking today off due to the knee issue, but I need accountability of a different kind.
According to my doc (who referred me for an MRI and an ortho visit), it is very likely that I have some damage to my meniscus, which is causing my knee issues. Given that I can't see the ortho until the 22nd, I am currently restricted from doing the following: 1. Running 2. Tennis 3. LB lifting 4. Any other high-impact cardio The following are ok: 1. Swimming 2. Stationary Bike 3. Elliptical (if it doesn't hurt) 4. UB/Abs strength training. I, um, don't have the best track record at following doctors orders when it comes to restricting activity...so I need ya'll to watch me for the next couple weeks...if I stop posting for a few days it means that I got lazy due to the knee and i'm not doing any of the things I CAN be doing. If I post any of the "restricted" activities, please yell at me until I lose hearing in both ears. :-( |
We're on you Mandalin
FrouFrou -- Lazy days are allowed, once in a while... Actually I was lazy today also... Only went to the gym for 40 mins for back and biceps... |
Walked the mutts on a "almost" 2 mile walk right after work, then did a little over 1 1/2 miles on the treadmill.
Amanda be careful with that knee ~ I separated my knee in high school PE football) always bothered me then in 1990 I severed it! Good 'ol ACL surgery...out of action for 11 months...no fun. Take it easy dear...knee pain for "life" is no fun. Although mine has not hurt one bit since 1990's surgery...I am one of the lucky ones there! Great job ladies!! |
20 minutes strength training last night, going to do some hill work on the treadmill today.
Have a great day, all! Heather :D |
50 min run/jog
35 min roller blading |
Gary - I am aware of the consequences of ignoring knee issues, I'm just stubborn. Had my first knee surgery when I was 16 and they've just always been problematic, so I get frustrated. Of course, when I tried to deal with my knees before, the docs were a chorus of "lose weight! they'll get better!". Yeah, that didn't work out so well :-) I have an MRI scheduled on the 15th and an ortho appt on the 22nd.
In the meantime, I did an arms/abs workout today - 60 min. And i'll be going to the gym to try the elliptical, or if it hurts, a recumbent bike, tonight. |

The doc cleared it as long as it isn't painful...the particular pain I have is related to to bending with weight on the leg...I don't know, we'll see. If it starts popping, I'll stop.
Ugh. |
The knee needs another day, as it made clear on both the elliptical and the bike. Snap crackle pop! Ergh.
|
I didn't give up! 30 min swimming in a shocking burst of energy.
|
Ran a little over 5K yesterday - strength training today :)
Heather :D |
2.5 hr bike ride - 38k
|
I mowed the yard yesterday...1 hour for the back and 30 mns. on the front-quite the workout in this heat. Forgot to use my pedometer to see how many steps/miles that is...will do next week when I mow.
Today...went to the park and did a 1 1/5 mile walk...was really dragging and am embarrassed to say it took me 53 minutes! :yikes: The slowest mile and a half I have ever walked in my life, lol. That was a sad walk for sure but it was something. I came home and was feeling better and did my 2 mile WATP dvd so feel like I accomplished something. Keep on keeping on ladies! :carrot: |
50 min on the exercise bike.
OK, full accountability. It hurt, and I did it anyway. Let the yelling commence. I'm about to pitch a frustration hissy fit. |

Does it help that I put ice on it afterward? ;)
|
45 Minutes - Treadmill
|
I miss you all. I got some sort of bug ans my sinuses are acting up and I feel dizzy and sick and my tummy is all messed up. Can one get the flu in the summer? Everytime I go to the doctor I get sick, WTH?! :(
|
Get well soon, Diva!
Walked last night for an hour and 50 minutes... not fast, just comfortably. I now have a lovely blister on the sole of my right foot - d-oh! |
Quote:
Well I did...reluctantly...1.75 miles on the treadmill yesterday today...willingly...I did 3 1/2 :carrot: |
Amanda ~ Heather and Diva
GET BETTER SOON! |
Had extra energy to burn today. :)
60 Minutes - Treadmill |
60 min. of Cardio and ab work yesterday.
Today my stomach is hurting so badly. I really want to exercise but can't. Blech! |
Hey all,
I've been out of town on holiday, so no formal exercise. TONS of walking though, in flip flops (my summer shoe of choice). Does shopping count as exercise??? I feel it must. My body, especially my lower back, is killing me! Amanda, my knee is buggered at the moment too. I haven't been to the gym to run in nearly a week and rather than enjoying the break, my knee has decided to pitch a fit. I'm hobbling up and down stairs instead of walking. It sucks. I don't know if I can/should run tomorrow. I don't like to indulge my knee because it *will* try to take advantage of me. Also, I'm disappointed that all the squats and lunges and running and cycling haven't built up my quads enough to stop this from happening. OT, but exciting: I went to a running store yesterday and bought some new, fancy running shoes. They put me on a treadmill to jog and filmed my feet and then we watched it in slo-mo to see what I need for shoes. It was pretty freaky to watch. Bony ankles and feet flailing all over the place! But I have new running shoes. Yay! |
My blister didn't give me any trouble running today at all! yay! :cheer:
4 miles on the treadmill, running - 5.5 altogether. |
You gals take care of yourselves! Get with it...but don't over do it!
After church this morning, Angie and I did a brisk 3 mile walk with the dogs! |
30 min. Cardio Party Remix
10 min. Ab Jam (standing) A couple of ours swimming and splashing in the pool :) |
Lets recap.
Elliptical at my moms house - hurts. am dogsitting, so am away from my gym, (with stationary bike, which would probably hurt anyway) my weights, and the pool at my apartment complex. Getting increasingly frustrated. Like, VERY frustrated. And its making me cranky. |
mandalinn82, that does sound frustrating. Maybe nice long walks would be best right now until you get back to your normal routine.
60 min. of Kathy Smith's Full Body Circuit today. I feel GREAT! |
