I'm going to join in the fun because I did an extra-good job today:

60 mins on the elliptical (usual)
30 mins jogging on the treadmill (bonus!)

I feel like a bit of a champ :) I've only been at this regular exercise for two weeks (after a very long work-out vacation) and already I'm amazed by the improvement in my general fitness. All the more so because I smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day, and my lungs are in crummy shape. 90 mins of hard-core cardio is impressive (to me) under these conditions!

Hey Baffled!

Welcome! Way to go on the super-champ workout!

Ilene - I thought you actually meant "mind swimming" until I realized you were probably saying "mins swimming".

Did put some interesting ideas into my head of what mind swimming might be...

LOL. Now "mind-swimming" sounds like exercise I could really get into! In fact, I probably spend most of my time engaged in this already...When do I become skinny?!

I'm sooooo impressed by everyone's workout!!!! And I'm afraid of getting sore muscles after 30 min. of working out!?!?! All I can say is "WOW". Keep it up. It sounds like everyone is doing very well. Tomorrow I'll start. Now I'm fixing a veggie soup with beans and fixing to sit down and hit the books for school tomorrow.

Dream girl - when you start, post here with us! It REALLY helps me maintain my workout schedule when I know that the lovely ladies here notice if I'm not posting!

Welcome, baffled and dreamgirl!

I agree with mandalinn -- this thread really does keep you accountable. And I love reading what everyone else is doing. It's inspiring to see that everyone else is keeping up with their workouts too.

Today I ran 3 miles on the treadmill with speed intervals. Let me tell you -- there was a RIVER of sweat.

It also put "night swimming" in my head..."mind swimming.....deserves a quiet mind...."

60 on the elliptical at a nice high resistance, with some nice high intensity intervals.

dream girl 02-23-2007 06:05 AM

Yes, Yes, Yes - I did. I got up and did 15 min. on the elliptical and 15 min free weights and situps and stretching. Just had to tell everyone. Gotta go. Check back later. Everyone have a great day and happy exercising!

Good job dream girl! 15 minutes is a great start. Your capacity for exercise will increase the more you do it.

I did an hour on the elliptical yesterday, for which I only give myself cursory credit. Today was going to be my day off from the gym, but after the Mexican food debacle last night (see the Food forum) and a dinner date with my bf at a restaurant tonight, I really should go today too. Ideally I'll do 90 mins of cardio, but I have quite alot to do today, so I'm not sure that I should devote so much time to the gym.

How's that for an ambivalent goal!

mandalinn82 02-23-2007 10:42 PM

55 min on the elliptical, steady pace, high resistance.

LisaMarie71 02-24-2007 07:50 AM

75 minute bodysculpting class
