Lost my post!!!!! happy Birthday Joanne and Eleni-hope your back feels better.
Vision Trust is the name of the Missionary Group-they work qwith poor children. That's where my heart has always been. They want our friends to go down-he is a retired optometrist. I am sure they will-we might go another time.
The picture is back in half because Steve told Suzanne that he didn't know where she would be in a month. Good for him!!!!So she had a choice of 2 dates last night. Bye for now in case I lose this. Mima

Joanne, what do you stuff the grape leaves with? Curious minds want to know! lol

Mima, the saga of the picture continues!! Keep us posted!!

Had my class at the Y this morning. Every other week it is water aerobics. After last week's kickboxing, pilates, and other tortures, this week was fun. I know on the weeks that we are not in the water, I will need to use some common sense. I totally overdid it last week. You'd think I would learn.

The sun finally came out for the first time today. It has been raining since last night. The guys left for the hockey game about an hour ago. Now it's just Kramer and me. I'm sure we'll have a lazy night.

Good early morning. Today is the Art show and I am trying to decide if I can handle church, Sunday school, Art show and then church again, Then again, it's only one day. We heard the missionaries tell anecdotes about their work at the dinner last night-too funny. They all say theyhave never been to a mission conference like this before. I know last year they raised 400,000 for missions-that's above the almost million the church already gives, We are going to try to go to the Dominican Republic and try to learn Spanish before we go. That will be fun. Bye for now Mima-have fun today Joanne.

Mima, the daughter of one of the teachers went to the DR on a missions trip a few years ago. It was a rewarding experience for all of those involved.

I didn't make it to church. Hurting so bad this weekend. Not sure if part of it is the water aerobics or just stress from everything that has been going on.

Joanne, we may have a change in plans. Might not be coming to Tampa now.

The Art show was great -so many people. I won 3 raffles!!!!!!! And someone wanted to meet me because they won my small picture.
Today I need to start getting ready for company tomorrow. And Mr. Evan is staying over tomorrow night, LOL Mima

Default Hey There

Tammy- You may need to find a ethnic food store where you can buy grape leaves. I use the orlando brand as they are usually nice large leaves.
Filling= Lean ground meat 2 pounds
1/2 cup rice
Can tomatoes (I use the ones with onion and garlic)Mash up well
onions (2) chopped fine
garlic , oregano (I use a lot to taste.
salt and pepper( I don't use salt as there is enough in chicken broth)
Mix well
Wash leaves well
Fill each leave with about 1T( or more depending on size of leaf) full and roll like a package.
place in pot fold down. pack close together.
Pour chicken broth in pot enough to just barely cover rolls.
cook on low till leaves are tender. DO NOT Stir(usually 2 hours or more)
Enjoy. You may be able to find a Greek cook book. They usually have diferent versions. This is mine
If you don't come to Tampa this year, there will be another time/
mima- We are birthdayed out. I am glad this time of the year has passed. too busy. We are going to cumberland Island next weekend. I hope my back holds out,I have been having some mean spasms.

Mima, that's great that you'll be sponsoring a child in the DR. Winning 3 raffles! I want to win just 1. You'll have a blast with Evan!!

Joanne, the recipe sounds very similar to how I make cabbage rolls! I agree about coming to Tampa. I'd really love to meet you (and everyone else on here)! Take care of yourself!

I came home from school and fell asleep for an hour. Got up, ate some supper, went back to sleep and slept for 2 1/2 hours. I knew all day that I should have called in for a sub. I get stubborn sometimes.

Hope everyone gets feeling well. Joanne, sometimes when my back hurts it is because the muscles in my legs are tight so I massage them. A masseuse told me that,
Anyone heard of aloe juice for your stomache. This masseuse keeps telling me this, Bought some yesterday because I had cramps. I think it gave me a lot of gas!!!
Daughter wants to come down for a week. Boy flights are expensive, Mima

Hi everybody ... that recipe sounds good ... I may have to try it sometime.

I ate at a fish place in Nashville tonight and my stomach is killing me now. Had catfish and fries but I don't think that is what did it. We got some onion rings as an appetizer (what they called 'hay stacks') and they were really greasy so, along with the catfish and the fries that was probably just more grease than my stomach is used to I guess. I can still taste it! Ugh.

I saw my Rheumatologist for the first time since August ... he didn't do anything new ... just wrote out my scripts for a year, drew my blood and told me to come back in 4 months. Thanks a lot doc. Like King Solomon said,

"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun."

Do you ever get to feelin' like you're just doing the same things over and over and over. Including going to the doctor and him telling you the same old stuff? 'That which is done is that which shall be done.' Nothin' new here! Oh ... well! At least I did get 4 new pairs of shoes and 2 new dresses while I was in Nashville. And I even managed to find SEVEN new accompaniment tracks of songs for me to sing in church. So the trip wasn't a total loss! (I always try to find something to be thankful for!)
