You are right about insurance. Now I read that Aleve causes heart attacks -Brad takes Aleve. Pretty soon all our good meds will be off the market We found another house and this one is perfect but in a busier area-not that our area isn't busy. And there is a Walmart next door. Can't see it-You don't own the land but it has a perfect screen room for Brad and his trains. We are calling today. And we will still have money in the bank. Waiting for a call from our pastor because the light is on in the window saying the heat is off at home -hope the light is wrong. We might have set it too high. Hope that's the reason.Pastor was in there yesterday and heat was on. Oh yeah, I have to get confirmation for my cholesterol med and it's not a problem. Kids coming tonight. Mima
I just read that about Aleve too!! I take that every now and then.
Wow! another house and perfect!! With Walmart next door? I spend so much time at Walmart, that would be handy.
We've been talking about downsizing in the near future. We bought my parents' house after they passed away. Large yard which takes quite a bit of time to mow and take care of. Also, our laundry is in the basement, and the stairs are something that I'm not very good with anymore. Our son doesn't want to think about leaving this house, but he'll be off to college in a couple years, and then out on his own. My hubby is 57 now, and after a car accident 1 1/2 years ago, is really feeling every ache and pain.
We'll just have to do what is best for us I guess.
Tammy, we have a basement, too. We just built this house about 15 years ago and I insisted we have a basement. I teach piano and I had to have my students out of my house. I had them in my house for nearly 15 years before and I hated it. Always had parents and other kids waiting in the den ... especially in the winter and the hot part of the summer. Hubby didn't have anywhere to go. And our last house was pretty big - but when he came home there was always people there every night and he was kind of 'stuck' with them until I got through teaching and some nights that was 7 or after. But I've had surgery on both knees and we really argued about the basement ... he didn't want to have one, was afraid I'd fall down the steps. Fortunately, he is a toolmaker so he was able to make me an elevator of sorts. He put it between the kitchen and my bathroom upstairs and it came out to also be at the top of the stairs and right at the back door. Then, downstairs, it comes down in the laundry room so it's perfect. I can just get on and take my laundry down (or up) and we have a garage in one end of the basement so I can bring my groceries right up to the kitchen, too! It's not any bigger than a closet so it doesn't take up much room. You might want to think about doing something like that in your house!
The play Sun. night was soooo good. All four of my kids were trees! Ross was 'Bud', the tree who wanted to sail on the ocean. In the end, he was cut down and made into a boat that carried Jesus out into the sea. Another tree wanted to carry mighty kings. It was cut down and made into the manger that held the baby Jesus. And the third tree wanted to stay in the forest and stand tall on a hill. It was cut down and used to make the cross that Jesus hung on. It was touching but it also had it's funny moments. There were marching trees that sang a funny song and there was a 'rapping' woodcutter named Woody. All the trees put on sunglasses and Woody the woodsman had on overalls and a red flannel shirt and had his hat on backwards (I'm talking about a big man with white hair and a beard) and they all rapped a song about 'How much wood could a woodcutter cut if a woodcutter could cut wood? HUH?" You should have seen all those little kids wiggling their behinds with those sunglasses on - there were about 18 of them. It was funny. I have a picture of my 4 little trees for you. Life is never dull with them around! That's for sure.
Cute picture Meme Your grandbabies are not babies anymore! Insurance is a pain but you gotta have it or it will break you!

Merry Christmas to all of you. I hope the new year will bring you peace, contentment and good health.
Mima - glad you were able to get the house. That will probably be much better for you. Enjoy Christmas with your family.
Meme - You too. I know you will have lots of Christmas gatherings. I hope you aren't too tired to enjoy them.
Candice - drive carefully. We have to travel as well, but only a 2 hour trip, but in snow, apparently, or worse, freezing rain. I hope we get where were going before that starts!!! Have a nice time.
Joanne - I know you will be enjoying your family. Have a really nice Christmas, and let worries of gaining a pound, drown for a day. That weight will go off quickly the next day.
Tammy - I hope you have a wonderful holiday and get some much needed rest.
I probably won't be back on until after the New Year. We are gone until the 28 and then I am bringing back my gdaughter for a visit and we will go back again on the 31st. So not much time.
Closing this am-1300 for insurance but we will try to change that later. 2 wonderful mattresses. Off line til we can get our phone changed. Wonderful Holidays to all. Mima
Well, looks like everyone is either going to be offline or gone for the Holidays. Just want to wish everone who is traveling a safe trip and all of you a Merry Christmas. Hope you all have a wonderful time with loved ones. Don't eat anything I wouldn't eat - so that means you can eat anything you want! I love you guys ... you're like my second family!!! So ... since we spend so much time 'together' ... I thought we should have our own little tree.
And since some of us are in Florida ... here's a tree just for you!
Merry Christmas EverybodyThis hardly ever works for me..
I too may be off and then if I find time maybe not.. I have family coming in tomorrow. They will be here till sunday. That is my 51st anniversary.
It is supposed to turn cool again for this weekend..We were supposed to get rain so far the sun is shineing..
Bye for now...Joanne
My Dr. office just called ... when I went to the Dr. Tues I had blood drawn and it's low again. Hematicrit is 29.8 and Hemoglobin is only 10.1. Trouble is, they don't tell you anything to DO about it!!! I told the duffus about my allergy medicine and he said, "we'll send them a letter." Well, I told him it wasn't working anyway and he didn't even bother to change it, just gave me some samples of the same stuff and then wrote a script for a Z pack ... like that's going to help allergies. Then said, "see you in 4 months." I'm thinking, yeah ... if I'm not DEAD!!! (Wonder if he'd send flowers?)
Meme, your elevator sounds great. I really don't think we'll be living here more than another couple of years, so I really hate to put too much more money in the house. As it is, Bob and Tim do most of the laundry! (maybe that's why I don't want an elevator!!)
Your "trees" are adorable by the way! Love the story line that you wrote down about the play they did. The Christmas tree and Palm tree are neat too!!
Mima, hooray for buying the house!! Hope someone bought some underwear and a toothbrush!!
Happy, have a safe trip, and enjoy your time with your family.
Meme, take care of yourself!!!! Dumb doctors.
I'll be around for the holidays. We have about 24 inches of snow right now. Hope the wind doesn't start blowing again, because the driveway is cleared out (for now). I know the guys went out twice yesterday, and then they went out today and cleaned off what fell overnight. I'm ready for spring. I don't even care about a white Christmas. This is toooooooooooooooooo much.
Anagram, I will share this beautiful snow with you! lol From where I'm sitting, the view would make a lovely Christmas card. All of the snow, the sky is pink and purple in the east. It really is pretty. I know I won't be saying that in about an hour, because I'm heading out to get some last minute items and food for the family Christmas here tomorrow. I'd rather stay in bed or in the chair with a good book.
Good morning-guess I won't complain about 4 days of rain!!! We are in -a plastic picnic table -4 folding chairs-2 lounge-2 awesome beds and a tv-better than those poor people in Asia. Had a great Christmas-going to Busch Gardens today-got phone-gotta get ready. Have fun . Mima
