Hope everyone finds their way. The other thread was getting a little slow to open. You can go here to read the last couple of posts you may have missed.:
Hope all are feeling better. My treatment is beginning to "kick in".Maybe I'll be back to normal soon. Whatever that is!.
Looking like rain again. I'm wondering if we'll ever get the roof on our house. When DH can work on it, it's raining. When it's sunshining, DH's on the other job.
Hey, whatever you ladies think you need to do, & what you think is best for your health....I think you need to do it. My pastor's wife tells me often, that on one knows how I feel, but me. I know when I'm hurting, sick, etc. No one else is my judge & can tell me what's best for me. So....I've learned to make my own decisions. Anyone else can accept it, or deal with it. As much as I love my MIL...she doesn't understand my treatments. She has a daughter addicted to drugs....so is very negative about them. (understandably) She really questions me about all that I take. So, I've got to where I don't tell her anything....just to not have to explain, & make her concerned. The saying "what she doesn't know, doesn't hurt her".....or aggravate me.
Got a lot to do...hope all have a great, pain-free day!
Angel- Very Good. I dislike being questioned about things that I have made up my mind about. Too confusing. I hope that everyone is well and has a great day...Joanne
Pam
Glad you are back. I was gone to wasn't feeling up to parr. Hope you are fine.
Deb
I just read about your surgery, and if your family doesn't like thats to bad. If its going to help you to be healthier then you should do it. I know there are risks with that kind of surgery. I think it was joanne or ageoldie that said to look up binding the stomach instead of the risky aspects of the surguery. I don't know if its safer, but it sounds like it would be. I would do the surgery or the binding if I had the money. Even though it shrinks your stomach to a small pouch you still have to watch what you are eating and how much.
Angel,
Hi haven't heard from you in a while. I 'm glad you are back. Your pastor is right nobody knows how you feel eveyine handles pain and sickness differently. Even if they have the same kind of pain. They still can't know what you are going thru, they would have to be you or me or whoever.
Boy that was hard to get out.
Joanne
Hi how are you? I hope you are good. Hope you are pain free. I am having a pretty good day, not much pain, just a little tired.
ageoldie,
I just want to say hello. I hope you are having a pain free day.
Khewes,
Where did you move from? I like your new house its nice. Does it have a very big yard. How is your diet coming along. You are counting carbs to? Isn't that right?
Well everyone Having gained back the 7 lbs I am back on the wagon with super glue. I need to do this. My daughters wedding is coming in 2 months and I need to lose at least 15 -20 lbs by then.. At htis rate I won't. I need a or something that will give me won't eat the wrong food power. this is how I need to be. HELP!!
well I guess I am going to go for now
Laura
I hope all of us are feeling well,if not then I will keep you in my prayers.
Don't know what its like weatherwise over there but its pretty dismal here so put the flowers on to brighten us up. Well, where shall I start... Charlie .....So your meds are kicking in and now youre raring to go. You know what I can't handle? When the kids ring and ask how I am and I say " I am a touch achey today or I havent been too good for a couple of days" they go mad and say "Whats new? Youre always ill." Makes me feel great. Somedays I say "I am fine, You?" Then they say Somethings up whats wrong, so you cant win either way. I am glad youre feeling better all you need now is some warm not too hot, dry weather and you will skipping about all over the place. Anne..... I want to move in with you. Your bungalow or whatever you call them there is lovely. Does it come with land if so I will bring my ponies and dogs too. My dream is to live in the country like that. We rent our field for our ponies and its about 10 miles from where we live. I want a bungalow (no stairs) with its own land and stables.Oooooooooh I am floating just thinking about it. Joanne.....As this is a new thread I havent got much to go on today and I didnt read the old one first but its obvious you are around so I am saying hello. Hope youre up to par and not still got problems with your neck. Trouble with necks is the more you try to relax them the worse they seem to get.Anyway I hope youre having a "good day". Everybody else......Have a great day! I am now back from your side of the world and I am all set to lose some more pounds. I bought a new swim suit in JCPennys sale and I am going to start swimming again. I went twice whilst I was over there so thats a start. The sales at the moment over their are phenomenal and the pound is strong too so I was able to get quite a few bits to bring home. I went to the Avenue and Macys, there sale is great this year too. We went to the outlets as usual and they had so many cut downs also. Anybody wanting swimwear then go to JCPennys they have loads on halfprice. Oh and yes the wedding was great as well.... I was only over there 8 days and it flew by as most days were pretty hectic but I hope to go out again before the end of the summer. Unfortunately the shopping will be out as I cant shop every visit but I dont mind really. Nothing seems to wear out as you get older so I dont really need anything, unless I have a dramatic sudden weightloss that is.
Right I am going....catch you all soon.
Laura....... sorry we must have been posting at the same time. I was great whilst I was away but since I have come back I have gone downhill a touch. Maybe its the thought of being back here and not with the crowd. Even that can be overpowering sometimes though. Anyway we all need to get back into losing weight because once we hit what i call the winter dinners we have NO hope. Well I am going to try very hard now and see what happens before I go back onto methotrexate on August 31st. Anyway will talk to you soon. Stay painfree! Byeeee!
Hello Pam,
So far you and I are the only ones to post this morning, at least its morning here. If its 8:00 A.M. in oregon what time isit there?
I can really relate to you about your kids, mine our the same way. Sometimes they don't even ask because they think they know "you never feel good or you are always sick" At least they are consistant. But it wouls be nice if they would really wanted to know, They do not always sound sincere. Or at least recognize they we do have some good days. I know they love us and it just that they are use to us being sick, they tend to get desensitized to us. I hope I spelled that right.
I am starting to kick start my weight loss program again, after gained 7 lbs. Yup I was 183 now I am 190 again. I have to stick to it, and quit cheating especially after I have lost some weight. It s like okay I can have a free diet day, but No not for me. I can't do just one day. It expands to about 5-7 days. So here I sit again upset with myself and thinking about how hard its going to be to lose those 7 lbs agin. I also quit working out, so I am back on my all over cardio and mucsle rider thingy. Hello to all of you who arent here yet. I will try to name you all, but don't get upset if I don't put your name down because my memory doesn't quite work right. so sorry to thise if ant I forget.
Here goes- Anne, charlotte, joanne, deb, khewes, ageoldie, I know I am missing someone. sorry. I just can't think anymore. Do you like the size of your names?
Just wanted to say hello to you all Hope you are all free of pain
Laura
Stirfried.. we're moving from urban Pennsylvania to rural Maryland. I am hoping being out in the styx will help with the weight loss effort. No McDonald's to drive by every morning while the egg mcmuffins call me!
Wilbur the guard goat.. HA! I hope Wilbur likes dogs, I have a great big white German Shepherd.
Just when I am getting ready to pack, someone must have sneezed on me because now I'm sick. When I get sick, my RA goes nuts so I'm sick and sore.
Good morning, ladies. I believe there's a big time difference. I usually post as I'm cooking DH's breakfast. There's usually a couple of posts on here, by then. Sometimes when I can't sleep, I get up during the night, & get on pc, & post.
Kim....I love German Sherphards! They are beautiful dogs. Now....the goats are a different story. I don't trust them. I'm having enough trouble with this lab pup dragging up everything in the world!
I know my children get tired of hearing about my problems, so I just don't mention them anymore, unless they ask. Same with the grands. I believe they're concerned, but want to do more with me. How I wish.....
Stirfried...You're doing great with your posting, now. (large names!) You need to experiment with graphics.
Don't worry about that 7 pounds. Just take it one pound at a time. I gained 3 lbs on my trip to Texas. I want to lose that plus a few more. Gotta muster up some will power!
Pam....Glad you're back & enjoyed your trip. There's nothing like shopping! Only thing, it tires me out soooo much. Your graphics are beautiful!
Don't you all think I am looking slim and trim today
Pam - Nice to hear you had a good trip. Lot's of summer sales on now, in Canada as well. We will be starting to get the Fall clothes in by the end of the month. Gosh, they already have back to school supplies out and it doesn't even start until the end of August!! I sure don't know what the big rush is on this stuff. It isn't me that is moving to the country. That is Khewes. Me, I live in a small city in an apartment condo and absolutley love it. You couldn't pay me to live in the country. Way to much work. I was born and raised in the city. This little city of 72,000 only, is kind of in the country. My suite also overlooks a beautiful ravine and there are deer, moose and tons of birds that live in it, so it a little piece of the country in the city Also, nobody has to look after it.
Khewes - sorry you are feeling not well right now. Stress will do that to our bodies and of course, it hits the weakest points. Hope you feel better in a couple of days.
Laura - You seem to have the colors and printing down now. Whenever you feel like starting on graphics, give a shout. Glad you are feeling better.
Joanne - hope you feel better soon as well. Nothing quite like a summer cold.
Angel - glad you got your shots. Maybe you will be feeling better soon as well.
I have been down and out with this darn back of mine. Went to the Chiro on Monday and it took until yesterday until it started to feel anywhere near normal. The pain was right over the top of the scale. Today it is feeling better, but there sure is still a pressure there. Hopefully it will just get better again, as the days go on. Darn arthritis anyway.
Anne....OOOOOps! .....Youre so right. It is Khewes thats moving to the country ...so sorry! I was obviously still jetlagged. Gotta go catch you all later.
p.s. Khewes I think you are very lucky to be moving to the county. Sorry I messed up in the other post....byeeee!
Ready for fall shopping, too!! I'm always ready to run to the clearance racks. That's when I do most of my shopping. Getting ready for next year. Also, get to wear the new clothes a short time this year. But, what a nice way to start the new season. New clothes already waiting for me! We have great sales here in North Alabama.
Happy Canuk....you made a little mistake, also. You posted the picture of me, instead of yourself. ( I WISH!)
My treatment has finally kicked in well. Good thing, I have a full schedule. I DO take a shot of chemoon Thursday night....but, my treatment is a 2-3 hr intraveneous, stay at the clinic, treatment. There with other patients getting treatment for RA, or cancer, or whatever. It's treated much the same way as cancer, as it's an auto immune disease. I've been hurting some in my chest lately. It can get into the chest walls, or lungs. Hopefully, if it's in either, it's the chest walls. May talk to the Dr at the next visit.
I was raised in Detroit, MI. I have no desire to go back to the city. Of course, that's a VERY big city. Sounds like your home is nice!
, Pam,
You sound like you had a great time shopping and Oh Yeah! your sons wedding
I am glad you are back. But it is great that you had so much fun. I hope I have a good time at my daughters wedding, though I don't have to travel far only to the next town (Bend). Jenny and Matt are living 3-4 hours away in corvallis. Everyone they know practically live in the Bens area, I am glad it only a short drive, to much traveling I get sick. Charlotte,
You like that Big letter stuff, yes I know I'm so talented, I make name bigger in size. and that about it to.
I know I can lose the7 lbs again It just makes me mad that I goofed up again. Yup big size. Anne,
I guess now would be a good time to start learning about graphics, so teach on and I shall try to learn
Hey gues what? You know I am not married, but I have been getting email from a guy who lives 25 miles away. He seems nice enough. I don't know what he looks like and he doesn't know what I look like. It isn't some romance thing. We are just trying to get to know each other and maybe start a friendship., But really it just nice to have someone to email me. I like hearing from him. Its not anything serious he is separated from his wife and they may even get back together so I am sure there is nothing romanctic going on. I wish sometimes that I could me someone and something nice would happen. But you never know something more could happen. It sounds a little scary. Khewes I hope you like your new home and you are right if there is no Mcd thats a plus. You know they still have burger places there, just hang in there and say NO to the bad yummy foods.
well enough about my nonexistant love life.
Joanne,Deb and, oldagie Hello
Hmmmmmm, read all your posts and don't know where to start!
Yeah, love you're new pic Happy Canuck.....look like you should be painted on the side of WWII bomber or something. You're place sounds great....in a city but close to the country too. Was watching a special on the lodges in the Canadian Rockies....Me? I'd love to go and just sit on the porch, read a book, check out the guys in flannel! lol
Angel, hope your treatment goes well. Think we could all use a shopping spree. I love going to the outlets and getting really good deals . For some reason, Mom can always beat me on a deal though......this week her find was 7 large bottles of detergent for 5 bucks. I think she robbed someone.
Not in a good mood today. My younger brother and his wife want me to quit my job at the hospital and babysit for them full time. To be honest, I feel insulted. They want to pay me less than I make in 3 days at the hospital for 5 days with a baby. And my brother is acting like he's doing me a favor. I told him the reason I work 3 days is because my back won't handle 5. Initially, I'd agreed to two days to help them out - I know that they're strapped for money - but now I feel taken advantage of.
Why is it that people without a back injury think that you can "handle it" or that you're faking? Or that you can really function with medication? Yeah, I'm feeling sorry for myself big time today but I'm angry at them. Ed just won't listen and I'm worried that if he continues to pressure me I'm going to say something I'll regret.
The surg. is looking better and better to me. It's not an answer to all my problems but I feel trapped by my injury. Know what I mean?
Sorry to vent and be such a downer. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Or at least stays relatively cool.
Grasshopper- Stay strong. and when you see your relatives coming put the word NO in your mind. They will find another baby sitter. It is difficult to work for /with relatives..Take care of yourself.
Angel. I love bargains.. I go straight to the reduction racks in the stores. So does my daughter and G/daughter and son and really just about everyone in my family...
We have had a rainy day and I will not complain about it. We need all we can get. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same.
Hope everyone has a good weekend...Joanne
Angel Are you on Remecade? Do your really feel it helps? It was the "great white hope" when it came out. At that time I was working for a group of Rheumy and was sent to a big seminar to learn how to bill for it and actually get it paid for. But that was several years ago, I hear it's pretty mainstream now.
Deb I agree that no one can relate with how you feel. Just keep saying NO and hang in there. I did notice you stopped by the WLS site. They are a pretty good group too.
SHOPPING Did someone mention shopping? I love going to outlet malls. We are leaving on Tuesday for a trip to Pennsylvania, From Dallas it's about a 3 or 4 day drive. The books say 22 hours, but the books do not allow for stopping for every outlet mall along the highway!
Anne, Joanne, Pam, Laura, and anyone else I missed I hope you have great weeks, and are reasonably pain free. I had my "quarterly" appointment with my Rheumy this week and he was a little concerned that my blood work from the last visit showed more inflamation that it had the last time, but all in all I am feeling pretty good.
