It is cool here today.. I think this is the last gasp of cool air..Summer in Florida is right on the door step..
Ally..It sounds like you are happy in love.. There is always baggage from some corner of our lives. Be happy.
Candice - I did enjoy what I ate. Now I think I am getting back to normal. My Dr. yesterday told me not to lose too much below145. I am there this A.M. I was hoping for 5 more lbs but I think that is not to be. The struggle just seems too hard. My BMI is 25 now.
Meme- I pray that you can get your health under control. You know sometimes we forget who number one really is.. Take care of yourself. The others will realize that they can take care of themselves after awhile.
Happy- Do you have the stairs in your new home? I haven't been able to get out and walk like I should for the past week.It looks like my son will be back with us for a while till he finds a new house. He sold the one he is in this week. He is looking so he might find one and not have to come in with us. Hope God is in a good mood with me!I love him but in his own space is better.
Rita- That is one of the hazards of working in a medical facility. Everyone wants to show their caring by feeding you . I was at my heavest when I was working. You just have to put on the blinders so you don't see all the goodies. I usually ate at my desk. That was not much help. I didn't go to break rooms. The food came to me.
Well I better get busy...Hello Anagram..How are you?
Joanne
Hi, I am 60 yrs old and I live in Florida. I weigh 204 and need to lose for several reasons. I do suffer from Fibromyalia and high blood pressure, bad back also. I have done Adkins with no luck so I am starting low fat or WW as I had luck with low fat once before. I am going to try and walk, little at a time due to my bad back, but want to try and increase to at least 2 miles a day and get down to at least 140 so have my work cut out for me.
I hope there are others in my situation I can relate to as its hard to diet by yourself. I look forward to being in this group. Linda
Welcome to the Fibro board, Linda. We have several walkers and several on WW, too, so you should feel right at home here. Joanne is in FL and Mima just left there. I'm in TN but usually get down to the coast once a year. I'll be 57 next month so I'm not far behind you there! I've had fibro for about 25 years now I guess and arthritis for over 30 (both kinds). I'm severly anemic so I'm not really doing a 'diet' of any kind right now ... just trying to eat a lot of protein and staying away from the junk foods and sweets. It seems to be working for me. I just don't like diets!!! I don't like measuring and counting and I don't like somebody else telling me what I can or can't eat. I eat a lot of meats, eggs and salads, I try to drink a 'Boost' every day and I drink tons of water. I guess each person just needs to do what works for them!
Ally ... I'm glad we didn't lose you ... I was beginning to get worried. Get that man of yours straightened out. Sounds like he needs someone to take care of his money for him!
I finally heard back from the Protein S deficiency test. Normal range is between 65 and 140 and mine was 31 so it is low. I have to go see a blood Dr. Friday morning. Yet ANOTHER Dr. And now I have a cold ... hubby had it all last week and just HAD to share with me. Got some Zithromax for it yesterday so hopefully it won't turn into something worse like it always does. The good thing about going to the Blood Dr. is, maybe he will know something to do for the anemia that my other Drs. aren't doing!
Joanne, you said you weighed 145 ... how tall are you?
Nothing but drs since back from FL. Hope to be checking in more. Cervical spine narrowing and has spurs - causing pain/numbness in left arm. Xrays, MRI. Four med appt in five days. Also twice now real severe headaches in back of head. MRIs, all that stuff. On the baby aspirin now too so don't have TIAs.
Nice Easter though. Eating not too bad except around Easter. Little exercise though. Did take 35 minute walk today between raindrops. Weather has been too bad for much walking. tomorrow supposed to be nice. debating whether I have energy to get ready for neighborhood garage sale on Friday. Think I'll try to sell baby stuff I had here for granddaughters. Little used but don't see any others in sight so may as well get it out of here.
I'll be back and try to get caught up. Happy, glad your move is over, Meme, hope you can feel better soon. DH has had severe anemia. Up to "normal" now w/shots of Procrit (which I give him). Still very little pep though.
Planted some seeds, lettuce and radishes in the veggie garden and some cosmos and larkspur in the flower garden, now lets see if they come up! I am hurting too , my lower back and hips mostly from squatting. Seems like I am losing my balance a lot when outside too! My watering wand broke and it is not even a year old so I emailed the swan co. ( 5 yr warranty) Do not have a receipt so don't know what they will say. Then my new bed sheets ripped when I tried putting the fitted one on our deep king bed. Called Pennys and they said to bring them in but not sure if they will refund. These are 340 count top of the line sheets and they should not rip!!!!!!!!!!! Only washed once so they are like new but we have had them for about a month, I do have the receipt for them. Boy they just do not make stuff like they used to any more! Now I have to maker a trip to town.....do not like doing that too hard on me!
Welcome Linda. Walking is my "thing". Could not wait for spring to get here. And then as always I walk so much the first few days my muscles hurt so bad. AND, my dogs paws got irritated. There is still salt on the roads.
Meme........ It is a good thing this guy is so nice and so pleasant and comfortable. He comes with more baggage than most. His attitude is "it's only money, I'll just make more". That may work for Donald Trump but not for the rest of us. Thought you would appreciate an update on my hyper boys who will turn 19 tomorrow. One is back home completely. At first it was "just for a few nights", now I note he has all his old posters up (GLUED to the wall ) The other one quit his job and lost the apt he had. It was one of those totally impulsive quits. No planning. He is sleeping on friend's couches til he gets desperate and THEN he has to live w/ his father. I said I would never have both back. I only have one brain cell left .
Last nite my son home let a moron friend drive his car...it is now in my driveway with a popped tire and damage to the axel. Arghghghghghghg! He is going to use my car tonight to deliver pizza. I tell you...that few months break I had was sooooooooo nice.
Howdy everyone else!!!! It is a nice day in NY and supposed to be beautiful by the weekend.
Meme- I am 5'4"... I really don't want to stuggle anymore trying to lose more weight. It is going to be hard enough staying under 145.. I have tried for the past year to get to 140 and 143 is the best I have been able to do..My Dr. said enough. My bmi is 25.
Welcome Linda... I lost the most of my weight with WW. I still follow their plan. I am also a walker.. I try to go 3 miles at a time. I haven't been so good this week. I used to walk every day ,but, can't seem to get out there as much as I used to.. Maybe when I turned 71 I made myself think 3-4 times a week was enough. What part of Fl. do you live in? I am in Tarpon Springs..I now go to TOPS . It is a good weight loss support group.
Meme- Did you get snow this week? I say by the news it snowed in Tenn. and on up the coast. Another Dr. I hope this one can help you..
Candice-I agree. The sheets should not tear. But is the mattress larger than the sheets? That happened to me.. I guess it is just your turn this week for things to go wrong..
Anagram..Glad to see you back.. I hope you can get your health back to some kind of normal so you can feel better.
Ally- 19 year old boys are difficult. It is nice when they are out of the house. Our lifestyles are not the same. It is even harder when they move back. Short time or longer it is not easy. My son
sold his house and so far has not found another. He may come back till he finds another one. I am hoping he finds one and moves right into it.. He has been buying ,fixing up and selling. He makes a good chuck, but, needs to find a way to have a house waiting He is 45... Not too much of a difference, really.
Hello everybody...My hubby waiting to start a movie so I'll be back tomorrow
Joanne
Anagram ... what was "normal" for your husband's blood count ... do you know?
Joanne ... yes we got snow on Tuesday. I couldn't believe it. My daughter called me and said, "It's snowing here, is it snowing there." (She was at work, in Cookeville, about 10 miles away.) I was teaching and there isn't a window in the piano room. I looked out and there were huge flakes of snow coming down. By evening the ground was completely white. It was in the 70s today and is supposed to get up in the 80s by the weekend. I already have a cold ... will probably get worse with all the weather change! You say you are 5' 4" ... would you believe I'm 5' 9" and I only weighed 135 when I got married? I weigh 167 now - down from 188 - that was last November.
Candice ... my goodness. First the mice and now this. You are having a run of bad luck. Well, they say bad luck happens in threes so maybe you are done for awhile!
Well it is another nice day.. No rain and we need it down here. So we are using the sprinklers again..
Meme- I am with you.. I would have glued Ally's son to the wall.I think these kids of any age have little thought to our belongings. They think anything goes and we should accept it.
It looks like it is going to be another lazy day so I will try to find something to do . I know I have to go to the grocery sometime today. My bread is a week old and even in the fridge it says so. Bananas don't last long before they are black. If someone has the secret to that let me know.. I've done the wrapping in a towel and putting in fridge. I wonder if Mima has made it home yet?
Hello everyone...Joanne
Hey guys-we had been on the road for 7 days-went from 80 in Georgia to the snow in TN on the way to Nashville-had to stop in a motel for the night, Then we stayed 2 days in Nashville and started home Fri Am-home at 12:30 0n Sun. Computer works -satellite dish doesn't and they wanted 70$ to turn it. The floor looks great but there is still a lot of dust-I've got 8 months to clean it. Took grocveries upstairs from camper-that's about all/ Daughter is coming over, It's almost 70 here. Good welcome home. Cassidy isn't sure where he is. Welcome Linda!!!Read Dr Phil's book, Joanne-you are perfect-I am 128 at 5 feet and I'm perfect. haha!!Mima
Mima- Perfect! Not quiet.I wish! When the flesh under upper arms jiggle with every movement and rest of me that has gone south shows me that that is not perfect. But, what can you do with a hopeless case. Just keep trucking along,I guess.
It has been a quiet sunday. I am glad you got home safely. My son started moving a few things this way and putting some in storage today. Now all I have to do is find places for my stuff I have to move around so he will have a room for awhile. I really need another room. Now that would be nice..
Bye for now...Joanne
