They told us because we ahve cats do not use the d-con so we set traps and they run off with them! I have no storage here, the basement is big but damp and moldy and the attic is full of stinky mice! I am putting everyhing in those plastic storgae bins hoping it will keept them out!
My trip out was not successful..the car has to be towed so DH picked me up and we at Mc D,s. one of the new salads. Then I worked some more on the attic and got an hour in the yard. Same yesterday. 1 hr yard work 2 hrs attic. I think the baby bed has to be pitched due to mouse damage! I have washed up all the bears , what a about cabbage patch dolss can they be washed? and need to try and wash some other stuff things too. Yucky mess it is...............tons of basets I will put outside to soak later too. I have pitched and pitched!

Candice- By now I would be calling an exterminator...
Mina- I didn't do so well. Up 1 1/2 lbs. My scale says less. I was so sure I had not gained.I haven't done so well eating today so I better get back in line..Let us know how the baby looks...
This year Greek Easter is the same day as American Easter.. I will cook just one Holiday for a change...Praise God.. I will cook Lamb and the trimings. I asked Eleni and Bill.. Our son and us will be all. I will make the egg/lemon soup . It didn't turn out like I wanted last year.. New pots and they cook hot. Soup was overdone..I will remember this time..
I walked today...I will try as always to go as often as I can..
Bye for now...Joanne
Well ladies, I am now moved and unpacked and ready to rest. At least my house is in order, right down to all the pictures hung. Thank goodness it is done.
Mima - by now you will have a new baby around. Congrats on that.
Joanne - nice that you only have to cook one Easter meal this year. A lot less work for you. Too bad about the weight gain, but you had fun and that is the main thing.
Candice - Mold in the basement? Doesn't that bother you! It makes me sick. I can't tolerate the smell of mold. Instant headache. Mice - yukk!!! I think I would move. Only had a mouse in the house a couple of times in my whole life. They usually try to get inside for the winter, so they are worse in the fall. Good luck with catching them.
I have to finish cleaning the attic when I get home and deal with the mice!!!!!! WEll ,Evan is here and you can see r rated pics( for brief nudity ) at www.thecarvilles.com We-the other grandma and I -were a wreck for a while waiting for the call so we played cards with Alison and then went to the hospital. Brad was cool but he did think the baby was beautiful!!!We stayed a while and then wanted to eat but the caf was closed so we went to Ruby Tuesday's and had to wait. We brought something back to Mike who was starving by this time. Too bad about your weight, Joanne. I have been in that position but you are almost there. Anne, wow!!!, already unpacked. Hope you don't have to move again-I bet this stops you from being a pack-rat. My second move was easier because I had already downsized. Now Brad has been living in that house for 35 years and we have to downsize that!!!!It's not my stuff in that attic except for decorations. I'll give a lot away. Those mice eat through plastic bags so I would consider some cheap plastic bins!!!LOL Bye Mima
Mima- What a beautiful ,healthy looking baby boy!!!!I know you will spoil him as much as possible while you are still in Florida...
Candice- Heavy plastic bins might be the answer. Those little critters can eat through most anything. Unless your cats can get into the attic ,I would put out the decon.. I have heard of something that you can put up there that sets off an alarm(Silent) that will help keep them out. I can't remember the name.
Happy- All moved! That was quick.. Maybe you won't have to do this again soon.
I wonder where the rest of our friends have gone...Hope they are well.
Bye...Joanne
Thanks Joanne. I held him again yesterday-what a sweetie. Jill is still in pain. Hope she's better today. I don't know if I can stand not seeing him til next December. But I am going to be busy til then. Lots to do. Be good everyone. Glad you only have to cook once Joanne. I am going to help the other Grandma do Easter. Her significant other is away-the one that does all the cooking. Bye for now. Mima
Evan is beatiful Mima!!!!!!!!! .....and what a nice picture journal to see
Well, some more yard work and mice patrol in the attic, almost done cleaning but
now I hate to put my new rubbermaid boxes with all my stuff back in the attic, (what
I could slavage anyway) but no where else to go with it! I have 3 kitties in the
basement but they do not know what to do with a mouse, like Mardees cats! I guess
living in an old house in the country has it's price....
I just went to put my laundry in the dryer and some idiot left a kleenex in their
pocket, boy was I hoppin mad with paper all over the clothes and my floor then I
realized I had stuffed kleenex in my shirt pocket while cleaning in the attic! I'm the
idiot so how can I be mad at me I realy need to get some
sleep!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Happy can't believe you are all done moving in! I keep telling DH I want to move, but he says no!!!!!!!!!!!
HI! everyone been awhile since I posted just been busy so havent been on mucg Candiace sounds like you have extra work for you since you moved out in the country lets hope those kittens learn fast what their job is been trying to get some walking in walked last nite and woke up stiff but not going to give up well have a great tuesdayRita
Hi guys-Evan is home but has jaundice and has to go back to be checked every day. And Jill gets checked tomorrow, Oh-he is adorable. WE got a surprise yesterday-tenant gave her notice so now we are going to sell the condo sooner than later and buy something next year when we come back. And pay off our other mortgage. When I get back home, I need it appraised. Glad I don't have to move the stuff back out. I hurt my back-think it was from Grandma Sandy's jeep. She's sick so we didn't have to go to Tampa-packing up-back feels better tonight. Mima
Mima, was an absolutely beautiful baby Evan is. Gosh, for just a few hours old, he sure looks nice and plump. Good news about your condo. Now you just need it sold and you are away. Things have a way of working out.
Candice - sounds like you are catching up. Send those darn cats up to the attic for a little R&R. Cats know instinctivley what to do.
Joanne - how are things going with you?
Rita - hope your day went well.
I don't know where Meme is, but I sure hope she is ok. It seems like ages since she has been on. Alley must still be in lust.
It HAS been ages since I've been on ... took me forever to catch up. Mima ... the baby is beautiful.
I'm down again. Had my ankle 'cut' on last Thursday and then again today. Dr. took a scalpel to it IN THE OFFICE!!! OUCH!!! No fun at all. Then they wrap it all the way to my knee and expect me to be able to walk. I'm barely able to get myself home. They are using silver patches on skin ulcers now. It's like a piece of silk cloth infused with silver, wet, then put against the ulcer. I looked up silver therapy on the internet and was really surprised by what I found. Seems silver is used for a huge variety of treatments ... including fibro and arthritis. It is taken orally, used as eye drops and nose spray, ointments and skin sprays. It kills bad bacteria, infection, inflammation ... and my immune system just doesn't work anymore, needs all the help it can get! They used to use silver for everything in the 1800s but it got too expensive during the depression and they had to stop. That's when scientists started to work on developing antibiotics. And, now that they have, they won't tell people about the wonders of silver, even though the price of silver has come down, because you don't need a perscription to buy it and the drug companies will lose money if people start using it. It's non toxic, doesn't interact with any other medicines and is totally safe, even for children and pets. The more I read the more I am amazed that I knew nothing about this!!! Here is a partial list of things it is purported to help:
One site even said it had been proven to kill some strains of the AIDS virus and some types of cancer cells!
Anyway, didn't mean to write a book. Was just checking in and letting you all know why I've been out of commission for so long! I'm still not able to sit at the big computer, using the laptop and it's hard to hold it in my lap with my leg up on pillows. This is going to take a few weeks to heal but I'll try to check in more often and keep it shorter next time!
Hi Meme-glad to hear from you. Evan has jaundice so he has to go to docs every day. Used to do treatments in hospital because mom was still there-I was in 7 days with my first one. Jill goes for her check up and we are on call in case needed while we get ready to go home. I don't think I'm doing well with eating and my back hurts so I haven't been walking-will do some today. Bye for now Mima
Meme....hope the silver works and your ankle heals. Is hubby waiting on you hand and foot???????
Well..I'm just creeped out about this mice thing...a friend sent me some info and they are totally disgusting! Makes me want to burn everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Candice-I hate mice terds!!!!!!!Hope your ankle feels better Meme. It's been a bad year for you. What are your Easter plans, WE are going to Jill's mother;s and I am bringing potatoes, asparagus, and rolls. We are going to a huge Easter service at the Arena near here. It's the Baptist church that we have been going to. Probably going to dog beach today. Mima
Yeah... he pretty much is! I'm not cooking or cleaning much. Still teaching a little but that's about it. I had the ultra sound done at the hospital today. They 'bout scared me to death. The first technician went to get the main radiologist ... then he did it again. They thought I had a blood clot ... I nearly knew I didn't, though. Those things really hurt, especially when you have them in your leg. Then they decided it was just where there had been an old one until I told them I had never had one so they said they didn't know what it was. Then the radiologist said he thought the vein was just really 'small.' I thought that was extremely weird. I was in there for over an hour. Then she made me wait while she went to ask the radiologist if I could go. They said my Dr. would be calling me. Guess I'll find out what it showed later if I don't die first!
I don't like mice either. We had a RAT get in my son's bedroom one time. We came home and he said there was a squirrel in his window sill. I went in his room and a big rat was sitting up there looking at me. YUCK! It had come up between the walls in the closet and knocked the door down that allowed you to work on the bathroom tub pipes and got into the closet and then into the bedroom. We chased that thing for over an hour before the dog finally caught it. I guess everbody has their share of critters in a lifetime but I certainly don't envy you having to clean up mouse crap. Think I'd put out some D Con for a little while and keep my cats in the basement.
Anne, how in the world do you move so fast??? You are a whiz! All settled in yet? Mima, how's the baby? Where's Ally?
