Happy...YOu must've been scared to death. Good thing you got right in to the Doc.
Candice...My dogs are 12 and 4. No doggy insurance but I get a nice card from the vet at Christmas My brother (who is a doc himself) put his beloved Doberman thru chemotherapy. Spent $5000 at least, got an extra year of life for her, but she was sick much of the time. My poor sister-in-law was the one who had to drive her for treatments. The dog would have to have help back into the car and she weighed a lot. My brother just refused to let go. The vet had to talk him into it...
Meme...school starts in Sept in NY but my kids always have summer school.
Joanne....we have some great assisted living facilities around here, but the standard old nursing homes are still yucky.
Hello all.....I found a way to lose three pounds quick!! Move the scale off the carpet!!

WHEW... many more days like today and I'm going to have to check into one of those 'rest' homes for a few weeks ... think I'll make mine a Marriott though!!! It was raining cats and dogs ... litterally ... I walked into my kitchen to find a soaking wet Sami ... Ross had let her in. My whole kitchen floor was soaked. I don't know who was more surprised her or me! After I got her back outside, I was ready to go downstairs and start piano lessons - my first student was here already - I got my bottle of water out of the fridge and told Ross he had to go down with me (I have a rec. room down there for him to watch TV in, etc.) - well I put my hand on his back to guide him toward the stairs and he was soaked!!! He had been outside in the rain while I was getting ready!!! I had to dry him off and change his clothes. I was 10 minutes late getting started to work. Well... by the time I got downstairs, my second student had arrived 20 minutes early. So here I had an out of control, bipolar, ADHD, 6 yr. old and 2 piano students in the middle of a huge thunder storm with the lights flickering off and on and I was running late with everybody all evening. What a night. And what a day. He has been out of control all day, too. Into everything. I was on the computer for about 30 minutes ... got up and went through the house. He had on almost every light and had all the foot rests out on the couch, love seat and both recliners. With SEVEN recliners opened up there was barely room to walk in the livingroom!!! Another time, he was standing on the bar with the top up on the aquarium. Then another time I went in the kitchen (I was making vegetable soup) he had the top off the stock pot and the wooden spoon in his hand. He said, "Meme, I think the soup is done." I would just get one mess cleaned up when I'd find him into something else. I just kept saying, "Just 5 more days." OVER AND OVER AND OVER all day long!!! Just 4 now ... I don't know if I can take 4 more days like today! I know he can't help it but I'm getting too old for this crap. Why didn't my kids just buy pets???

Try some water play for Ross, Meme-it calms them down. But not during a thunderstorm. Washing dishes, toys in sink etc. Well, the wall guy showed up last night-maybe the carpenter will show up today-Stomache problems-I know it's red sauce that triggers it-Gotta get better because I'm going away. Candice, I agree, let hubby take care of dog. Still trying to get a rental for the winter-lady said she would know in 2 weeks. Anne, what an ordeal. Hope that works-SIL"s father just had a pacemaker put in. I work with someone with one and she does fine.Hope your med works good. Have a great day all> MIMA

You guys are just TOO funny!!! WATER PLAY... now ... why didn't I think of that!!! Just what I need ... to turn a bipolar, ADHD child lose in a sink full of water. NEAT TRICK. Sorry - I just didn't have the time or the patients to stay right there with him at the time! He's too destructive to turn lose with something like that right now.

Joanne, have fun in the most important room in the house. I don't envy you! I hate doing those tests ... and you usually go through all that and then they don't find anything.

Anne ... I'm glad you didn't have a heart attack! That's scary.

Well ... it's nearly 9 A.M. - guess I'll try another day!

Angry Hello fibropals

Mima - hope you get all your reno's done soon, and get cleaned up before the fall.

Meme - What a day from he**. A regular child without problems keeps one on their toes - no doubt you are being run ragged. Hope someone takes some sort of action and helps you out. You are only hurting yourself, here. I know, I know, no mor lectures:lol You are big girl now and know what you are doing, so I WILL leave you alone about it.

Joanne - No, I don't have to drive a 100 miles to a Dr., just to MY Dr. :lol. I haven't had a chance to find a new Dr. here yet, so I was just going to see about getting my ear cleaned out again. That is how I ended up in Red Deer. I did have lots of company however. I did live in that city for 27 years. I will be out Dr. shopping very soon here, in Edmonton. Nobody wants to take new patients and I don't want to just go to a walk in clinic. Joanne, hope your tests go well.

Ally - Hi. Maybe we should try moving it all the way to the basement (the scale) and see what happens:lol I like Meme's scale that she posted - the upside down one. I hope I don't live long enough to end up in a nursing home. Here, in Canada, they are regulated and mostly owned by the govt., so the standard is pretty high, but still ..... unless you have a dementia of a sort, you would be terribly lonely in them.

Anagram - I don't know where you are, but I hope things have settled down some for you. I know you were going through a tough time.

Candice is MIA as well. Where are you?

Meme....I had two Ross's to raise and I don't know who I feel sorrier for, them or me. It cannot be fun to always be in trouble to have the adults in your life counting the hours and minutes til you go to bed. On the other side, I now listen to people come in and talk about going to the movies or the mall with their kids and those memories are some of my worst. My kids could not sit still in the theatre. We had to leave. I almost needed leashes in the mall....someone would dive under a circular rack and hide from me til I was almost in tears. They needed to be into something every single second. Any dirty word they heard they would repeat over and over and over. I would get reports from bus drivers about the things they would say. They would alude to the idea that they picked up these things at home. It was not fun.
I am glad that Ross has YOU. I miss my mother so much cause she loved my kids in spite of their problems and she was so loving to them. These poor kids do not get a lot of love out there in the real world.

This evening, while I was teaching, I heard one of my piano student's aunts (who was waiting on her in the waiting area) fussing on Ross and he was yelling back at her. I stepped out of the piano room to see what was going on and he had somehow gotten his hands on a long piece of his Papa's left over molding from where we had redecorated the upstairs, broken it in half and proceeded to punch holes in the overhead ductwork in the rec. room (we don't have a ceiling in that room yet)! What a mess!!!!!!! I'm so glad this was the last day I had to teach with him here. I do pretty good if I can watch him but you can't control a child you can't see! Earlier today I went downstairs to go over some music for one of my more advanced students and prepare to teach and I heard music coming from the rec. room. It didn't sound like the TV so I went in there to see what it was. He had come upstairs and got my $70 tape player, put a kids tape in it and brought it downstairs, turned it on and turned it up as loud as it would go. He needed to get my attention. He has to have 100% of my attention all the time. I can't take much more of this!!! When I came upstairs, I found the soundtrack that had been in my tape player laying in the middle of the livingroom floor! JUST 3 MORE DAYS! I still have a headache!

Another thing that pisses me off ... My husband knows how bad I've been feeling (I can usually deal with Ross just fine if I'm feeling pretty good) and he knows how bad Ross has been lately (a lot worse than usual) so he called me on the way home from work and said he was going to go work at church instead of coming home. He asked if I needed him to stop for anything. I told him no because if he stopped he'd just make things worse ... Ross would want to go with him and he coudn't. Well, he didn't go work at church. He went to his parents ... which is right down the road from us. He could have come home and took care of Ross while I taught and saved me all that. I was so mad when he got home ... I guess you could have seen the smoke coming out of my head. I told him when he called to bring us home some dinner from town because I thought he would be coming from church but he comes waltzing in with nothing ... said he'd grill some burgers. I was so mad I said I'm not hungry ... feed yourself and leave me alone. I went in my bedroom and locked the door, went to bed and slept for 5 hrs. When I finally got up at 11 he had gone to bed. I don't know what he ate and I don't care!!! I didn't even eat any dinner. Maybe I'll lose a pound tomorrow!

Oh Meme-Men sometimes!!!!I can see you needed a break from Ross. Sounds like when you have a new baby or are stuck home with the kids-My thoughts are with you Joanne-the worst part is over-hope your stomache problem is simple. Well, we went to look at trailers last night-the kind you can tow around-we need something to stay in in FL and this way we could go other places. We'll see. It's only one third as much to rent a space as it is to rent a mobile home. Then you can go other places. We want to go across country sometime and Brad has a huge truck.I have to put it in God's hands. Anyways-gotta pack for the weekend today and for next week. Had my nails done yesterday. Chiro tomorrow. And the wall guy came back Mon night and the carpenter put up most of the stair rail-we need more for the bottom-Tile and carpet get hired out and painting I'll push for. Anne-how are you feeling. Candice, how are you doing with the dog? Anagram, how's it going? Hi Ally-are the boys almost finished with summer school? Pray, Mem, pray. And thanks for the jokes-they are awesome!!!Mima

Angry G'Day

Hope the day finds you all well.

Mima - sounds like you are one busy lady. A trailor would be nice as you COULD use it at other times. We have tossed that one around for years and ,so far, have decided against one. There are so many pros and cons to it - you just have to do what suits you. Good luck with your job next week. Hope your stomach doesn't act up this time.

Meme - What in the world are we going to do with you!!!!! That was NOT a nice thing that your hubby did, and I would be seething mad if it was me. It is hard enough to have a child around all day when you are not feeling well and tired, but to have a really active boy that is prone to finding "trouble" - well it must be really hard. I also know if it was me, and that was my grandchild, I would be doing the same thing, so I can't say a word. I do think that your son or daughter (can't remember who he belongs to) needs to take some responsibility and relieve you. I am sure they can see how hard this is on you. Well - I promised NO LECTURE, so I will now shut up

Ally - I feel sorry for you having to deal with TWO boys who were more than just energetic!! These kids are drawn to mischief like a moth to a light. One gal I worked with had a son who had ADD plus behavioral problems. He was always into some kind of trouble. Used to drive her nuts.

Joanne - Hope the test goes well. The worst part was probably yesterday - clean out day.

Candice - Still haven't shown up! I hope you are ok.

Hi Anagram - same goes for you.

School doesn't start here, until the last week of August. I see all the stores have back to school sales already. Crazy!!!! Beat the rush and buy all your supplies early Sure glad I don't have kids in school anymore.

My grand daughter starts kindergarten this year. I know she will love it, as she likes to learn and she did enjoy playschool. Because she can print her name and the alphabet, and can count to 100 and do a lot more, they are thinking of putting her in a combo. kindergarten/grade 1 class. She really is a bright little gal. She is just like her mom used to be when she was little. (well she still is that way

Default Hey There

A lot of misery for a irritated stomach and a high priced med that insurence won't pay for. So now nothing really found out. I know it is in the abdomen and not the head. They took some biopsies while they were at it. I have a appointment in 2 weeks . .
Mima- Now that your hubby is retiring you will have to do the same... My hubby retired 10 years before I did. It was no fun.

Angry Hi

Mima - congratulations!!! I am sure you will get a lot of enjoyment out of that purchase; especially if Brad is going to retire. You will never be home My brother and his wife actually sold their home and bought a 35 ft. 5th wheel and they go to Arizona for the winter. They can stay in the USA for 6 months out of the year. He bought a lot their this past winter. They saved two weeks and are now on their way back from Alaska. He said he met so many people who were just living in Recreational vehicles and they were all happy and content. They seem to like this lifestyle. Like he said, when they get tired of doing this they will buy a condo here at home. He was 61 this year, so they may have many years of travelling around.

Joanne - What kind of stomach irritation? Like IBS. I hope whatever kind of pills they gave you help.

Meme - Hope your days are going better.

Hi Candice, Ally and Anagram.
