  • Joanne...I have absolutely NO energy. My blood count is at the very bottom. I get up and do a little and then sit down for 10-15 minutes to breathe. Then get back up and do a little more. I have to force myself to do anything at all. I'm just so tired of living in this mess. I'm determined to get it cleaned up! By the time the guys get the rest of the carpet layed the 22nd I hope to have everything done that can possibly be done so I can put the 3 rooms they are doing back together the next week and then have my summer free!!! Just light house work for me all summer long...how wonderful! Surely there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!
  • You all are wearing me out! All that work...

I know I posted this before but you really have to go to this site or look in your store for these products..they are wonderful! I had a blueberry bagel today 3pts and lowfat, whole wheat, and 4 grmas of Fiber and all kinds of good stuff in it!

Did some work in the yard today....dividing and moving, and cleaning up. So much to do...............the house will have to wait now that the grounds need keeping!
  • Hi guys-just a quick hello because I am meeting friends for breakfast-one girl's daughter has colon cancer and she moved into her house and is taking care of her 3 kids and driving the daughter back and forth to chemo-so I shouldn't complain that the roof of my car got dented in-possibly and most likely from kids getting out of school-have to go to insurance co after breakfast and hope it can be popped ot-like it said-it's minor compared to Norene and her daughter-bye for now. Mima ps-we are getting our siding next week!!!!Maybe I'll clean the yard so it will all look nice.
  • Hi there-meeting with friends got postponed so I got to go to TOPS and join-like the group a lot-finally meeting people in the area-but I am not motivated to diet-probably the weather because I don't feel like walking-it's going to get better!!!!Be good-Mima
  • Hi Guys. Just checking in. Good weather day here in NY for a change. Did a lot of walking and cleaning up outside from our ice storm. I did get my set up on a lap top but it is going to take her some time to figure this whole thing out. I forgot what it is like to start to learn this stuff.
I was walking today thinking that I probably did not gain weight over the winter. Lighter clothes are loose. It is this walking that does it. I am glad to get off the treadmill and outside.
I am also ready for my kids to fly the nest!!!!!
  • Ally that is wonderful ....I always gain alittle in the winter but shed it when I get back outside! hope this year is no different!

I just placed another order for the onion bagels and some bread..can't wait..gives me something to look forward too in the mail! The carob chip cookies are wonderful (just a hint of coconut!)

Got a lot of transplanting done today and even got DH to help dig some big stuff...he never helps! (of course he wanted a little reward too!)

DS got back from the Chicago interview..he did not like the school or people as well!
  • Good morning-finally the sun-at least I am not eating in between meals like I did before-just got to walk today or do some yard work-went shopping yesterday and bought 2 dresses and 3 sweaters-54$ sweaters for 7 each in Filene's-love that store. Gotta get ready for church. Have a great day. Mima
  • Hey There
Candice- No matter the age,if hubby is willing to help they always want a reward. Mine is 78 and when he gets a gleam in his eye ,I put him to work
Mima- I bet you will like Tops. I found it nice to get to talk to people and exchange ideas. I like the idea that we are all in this together, working together toward a goal of good health.
Ally- I wonder if the kids ever really leave the nest. Ofcourse one day you will find them trying to put you in the nest. Mine are forever trying to "take care of" us. Ofcourse if they get a problem it does about face.. I guess that is the way it goes.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend...Joanne
  • Oh Joanne...I was complaining to another single parent the other day that I need a little taking care of. My kids are just so self-centered right now. This week is school vacation. Right now there are about ten boys in my yard. If I look out there I can't even pick out my own amongst them. They all have baseball hats and hooded sweatshirts. I made two pizzas and they ate it up, but it is like feeding kittens. Tomorrow when I am at work they will all be here and will eat me out of house and home. I also want to sell my house this summer so I do a lot of big time cleaning on the weekends. I did my back porch last week. Today someone emptied all tne boxes I packed up looking for a bike part. They are all over the floor. Drives me crazy.
  • I'm glad I have tiny little grandchildren. They come for a visit and return home. Most they stay now is usually a weekend. Although the oldest will be 8 in a couple of weeks! Can't believe the little one turned 4 last month...time flies etc etc etc! Hubby's Dad turned 85 today...we took him out for lunch. It was nice. Noisy but nice. We drove them back to the farm where they lived 60 years ago and they pointed out some of the places to us; I couldn't believe some of the old houses and barns were still standing. One farm has been turned into a subdivision and, of course, there are a lot of new houses but some of it is still open fields...they seemed to enjoy the day...but I'm pooped. Went to see the little ones in their Easter program at church tonight... so cute. Someone told the youngest she sang good and I whispered to her mother, "When she wasn't showing everybody the pink flowers on her underware!"
  • Move over Meme-siding starts on Tues-someone coming tonight to talk about the finish work for the kitchen and original oerson coming Fri to finish the walls in the kitchen. I have been waiting so long and it's finally going to come together. I have jury duty today-we'll see what happens. Weather is going to be nice!!!!!I have been pretty good-I'm not eating between meals like I was. And I did walk. Bye for now. Mima
  • Hey There
Ally- I feel for you.. They have to grow up a lot before the realeze that there are other people in this world too. But like I said when they get in trouble ,they call mom. I know mine still do and they are in their mid 40's.
I took my son a half a cake . He couldn't find something he needed , so he got upset and ate it all. Guess who got the blame. He said not to bring anything else there and that I am to throw away the rest.
    Hello everybody..Joanne
  • Hi guys-jury duty is over-I excused myself from a case that involved drunken driving. I am divorced from an alcholic and spent many years in Al-Anon and Adult children of alcoholics. So I guess I would be prejudiced. And there were no more cases. So that's over with for 3 years. Retired pastor came to look at finish work to be done and they are going to buy doors today!!!!!!!Wow-and siding guy is coming. I am going out to start cleaning the yard but have to be careful because of the fibro. Yell at me. How is everyone-how's your job Anne? Candice-did you plant petunias yet. Bye for now. Mima
  • Got the garage almost all cleaned Monday and I am tired and sore. I do not seem to be making the scale move though and still op. Seems my waist just keeps getting thicker each year

Going to the Olive Garden with 2 friends Thursday for our BD's..should be fun..we always get the soup and salad..I like the minestrone and only have one breadstick, so points should be ok.

My son decided to go to Des Moines med school, he did not like the Chicago school even though it is much closer. the other son sitll looking for a job, not sure how much longer we can help him money wise..you are right your kids always need help! The hands are always out!
  • I guess I've been really lucky with my 2 so far. We helped some with their schooling but they worked and did a lot for themselves. Son worked all the way through. Daughter only went for about a year and a half then decided she wanted to go to a one year Technical school not far from here. Took her 9 months to do a year's course there. She got a job right off in the DAs office here. Then got in at the hospital as the assistant to the director of nursing. It is a really good paying job and she's happy (plus her boss told me the hospital would fall down without her!) Her husband works at the hospital, too and makes nearly as much as my hubby does (and that's quite a bit). My son makes terrific money as a network engineer for a line of banks ... he's gone a lot though ... his wife is a teacher at a Christian school. They both have beautiful new homes. I know they could all four be out of work next week but I just thank God every day that they are good kids and have good jobs and are good parents. I see people out in the stores smacking their kids around and yelling at them and I just can't stand it. I talk a lot about my grandchildren being mean but they're not...they are sweet, adorable, well behaved angels and my kids are wonderful parents. I'm so lucky to have the family that God has given me...I wouldn't take anything in the world for them!!! Not even good health!

Speaking of health, I've had to back off of the gold pills that I switched to because they are bothering my stomach so bad and now I can really feel the pain coming back in my joints. It hurts to move! I'm going to have to start taking them more regularly... I'm a mess...damned if I do and damned if I don't. Why is it the pills that work on the pain have to cause some other side effect? I haven't decided which is the worse yet, the joint pain or the stomach pain!
