Default Anyone dealing with Nerve pain?

Hi everyone,

Its been 2yrs since the nerve in my left leg was damaged in an ectoptic pregnancy tubaligation (They removed my right tube and the baby)
Anyway, it started out with being totally paralysed on my left side from hip on down to ankle. With physical therapy I went from walker to cane. I have now been 3 months without my cane (amen) Besides the trauma of the situation, losing our baby and my ability to walk. I am on Neurontin, and percocet and Cyclobenzaprine. I have cut them down drastically, but I still
have some nerve pain and there is still no feeling on the inner part of my leg past the knee. Exercise is the problem. Im trying to do yoga, and nope, Its not working for me. I have strengthened that leg, but not enough. Any ideas or have you used any other dvd's that worked. I love going to a pool, but our city decided to cut it's budget on that. Oh and I havent been working since the surgery. I used to be a chef and well, you just cant do that with a leg that likes to give out. And no, no lawyer would touch my case. So on
a very strict budget. Any ideas?

I have nerve pain due to a pinched nerve probably originally from the birth of my second and maybe also from my first son. It was not diagnosed correctly so no one thought it was a pinched nerve (but misaligned hips). I think the nerve in question is L4 or L5. I take gabapentin which I understand is supposed to help with my nerve pain down. I started it about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. I was told about 6 months to a year ago that it's a basically benign drug so my PCP wasn't worried about longterm effects. I was on one other medicine but stopped that over a year ago (can't recall exactly).

I have found no relapse of the extreme nerve pain episode that sent me to the ER. I have had increased, but not full, sensitivity to the side of my leg and instep on foot. I still have a mild limp, due to the permanent damage to that nerve, but no one but I notice it. My foot kind of slaps down while the other is controled.

My Physical Therapist was great on how to prevent constantly irritating the nerve for stretches, yoga, and exercise. He was a new PT and was also a marathone runner himself. He knew his body both as an athelete but also as a PT. I really liked him alot. He wasn't helping me for my nerve damage (I had really injured my knees from too much high impact exercise).

He taught a few alternative stretches but basically told me to avoid the most enjoyable stretches--keeping legs straight and bending from hips to toes (standing or on floor). It irritates my nerve.

Since his advice, I feel like I've had improvement where before I had occassional pain and weird feelings along the damaged nerve. Seems to help.

Default Dieting with abstacles

Hello,

I'm not on medication for it, but am trying to treat the hormonal imbalances with customized hormone cream. It's slow and takes a few months to make a discernible difference, but it's worked for me in the past. I find that as the levels normalize, the weight does start to come off (albeit a little more slowly than for most). I'm not quite in your boat, but I definitely sympathize, having just come out of a few very rough months where what I did just didn't matter -- my body and the scale had other ideas. for more detail visit
Thank you

Nerve pain I have MS and Type II diabetes. My feet are always numb and cold, and my left leg always tingles. I also take Gabapentin (generic Neurontin). I use a stationary recumbent bike I bought on sale. Love it. Does your county have a fitness facility you could use? Best wishes.
