Well, I guess I am as finished as I am going to get.
I had a wrench thrown into the works. Somehow, I have fractured my foot and I will be getting a cast put on it. Have to wait for the radiologist report and the Dr. to have some time. I guess I will have to wait until Monday morning. It is so sore, it hurts from the bottom of my foot right up to my thigh. It just throbs. Can't barely put any pressure on it at all. Had to stop and buy a cane today. I am really worried that this walking like this is going to affect my right hip and throw out my lower back. Just what I wanted for Christmas! Oh, well! It is what it is andthere is nothing I can do about it. I will be living on Tylenol 3 and Celebrex until Monday morning.
Good for you Ally. Passing up a party Collect Trolls Ally, they are cheaper and more fun that some men.
Joanne, it would be great if you could walk, but how do you do that with your knee like it is. We all live in a catch 22 it seems.
Mima - Just don't bake anything. Just eat it when you are out - that is enough. I am giving most of mine away. My kids will get some of it and a friend that works full time will get the rest of it. I know she doesn't have a lot of time to bake.
Meme - That was fun.
Candice - Jamie Sale' is from the city I live in. It is a small city - only 72,000 people here. They sure are good skaters. I enjoy watching them. Kurt Browning was raised about 1 1/2 hours from where I live. I also really enjoy his performances.
I ordered the shoes online so they are not here yet but I tried them on in Sears and they felt like slippers.Brad thinks I'm obsessed with shoes but the sciatica is causing most of them to be uncomfortable-can only wear flat ones. Right now I'm sitting with my coat on because the oil burner is broken but I live with a heat ing man who is down there right now fixing it. I guess that is more important than a card at Christmas which he says is not important when you are married!!!!!I disagree but........anyhow, he is so stressed right now because he has a lot of work to do in a short time-we are leaving the 5th hopefully. His mom is having an upper gi test next Friday so I hope she;s ok. They just found out she had a sinus infection-she's been coughing for 3 months-she's still at rehab. Gotta move to keep warm-oh, Anne, I'm sorry about your foot. That's icky. Mima
Happy- Of all times of the year to break your foot!!!How in the world did you do that?Thank God you got your christmas doings done.
I did something today I have never done. I bought my pies and cookies for christmas. I will make my lemon pies on tuesday. I couldn't get away with buying those. I am just not up to all that baking and work.
I want to walk as I did before. I might not be able to do as much as I used to but I am going to give it a good try. You know it is very easy to get out of the habit .It is just as hard to get motivated to start again.I need someone to get me going, but, I guess it is going to have to be up to me. My leg is going to give me a fit but we'll see.
Ally- collecting old boyfriends,Huh. Maybe you need to go looking for a new one. You know new year, new begining. Fresh start.
Mima- what is the name /brand of these shoes you ordered? It is very hard for me to find shoes that don't hurt.
Hello meme..I hope you are enjoying your G/d.
Candice- Don't worry about the cookie waistline. I bet you can afford it.
Anagram..How are you doing...
Bye all..Joanne
Happy if you would quit kicking people your foot would get better! Love Kurt Browning too! 72,000 is not so small ...do you know Jamie personally???????? She is a cutie and so is David. I broke my left foot in the 90's and it still gives me problems..had a cast on for 8 weeks and the crutches did a number on my upper body.....remember no more kicking!
My cookie eating is out of control..it will be a challenge for me to see if I can get back in control after the Holidays
Ally..I put some of those tounge pads in my Birks to relieve the pressure they were causing on the top of my foot...still need to break them in. The footbes feels great it is the hard leather taht is the problem I think!
Mima....I'm like Brad..a card is not improtant but my DH thinks it is!
Wildrose..glad you figured out allt he thingy's
Meme......cute snowman..they say you might have a white Christmas on our news......
Joanne.....I need to get back to walking too but my hips are not liking the pounding........Gott work off these cookies!
Well, no partyon Friday but I had one yesterday and got into a box ofcandy
Will try harder the next few days.
Bought my kids crab legs for Christmas eve dinner...cost me $50. I am truly broke.
Happy....sorry to hear about the foot. Ouch.
If I am not back on before....hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and we all lose ten pounds that day.
I hope we do get snow Chrismas...but from what they are saying, it won't be much!
Yes...I really enjoyed my weekend with Jenna! She's only 3 but already a typical 'blonde'! She keeps me laughing!!!
All 4 of them were in a play at their church tonight and OF COURSE I went...wouldn't have missed it for the world! They were so cute. Here's a picture:
Two little girls in middle front row in blue and black dresses: Kaylyn...dark hair; Jenna...'blonde'!
Ross is on far right in black and red sweater
Garrett is the shepherd standing on the left.
Wish you all could have heard them sing!
(I cut out the kids on the left of the stage! There were about 2 dozen in the little kids program and almost that many in the teen program. Wish our church had that many kids!!!)
Beautiful Meme!!!!!I walked again yesterday-my underwear is fitting again!!!!I did bake on Sat night cuz Brad was out working til 1 am. Only had a small piece of gingerbread because my head is all congested -every year I get this way from all the Christmas decorations-dust mites I think. Went to a family gathereing at Brad's sister's yesterday. Mom was there but she now is in a wheelchair and they are worried about her not being able to go home if she can't walk. Family meeting Thurs night.Going to gety my hair cut and mnails done today and deliver a Christmas present. Gotta shop sometime-we are having roast beef -daughter is staying overnite so she is going to help me. Anyhow-you know how busy it is. Ally-my son spent 94 $ on crab for his wife 2 years ago-they always have surf and turf. I was complasining about the beef being 6$ a lb. Stay calm everyone-remember the reason we celebrate. Mima
Y'all should just have the traditional turkey and ham! I only spent about $35 on ALL the meat for our dinner (20Lb turkey and spiral sliced ham) and we are having 12 people!
Well, I was at the hospital at 7:30 a.m. this morning and got an aircast put on. I can take it off when I need to. It is quite comfortable. Then I came home for about an hour, and went to the Dr. I have been taking an antibiotic for an ear infection, but I guess it isn't working, so he gave me Cipro to take. Said that should do it. I hope so. I can't believe all the piddly things that are going on with me. These things can't be normal either - they all seem to be 'blown up'. I don't know if that is fibro, or something else going on. I have to wear a shoe with a good heel on it, to try to catch up to the cast, or my back will be out of place next. Good thing I have a comfortable pair of boottype shoes that work.
Meme - cute kids. Turkey and ham it is for Christmas dinner. I will be eating 3 of them, so I won't be going near a scale for a couple of weeks after Christmas I ate more carbs yesterday that I have eaten in two months - TOTAL!! Also, I have seemed to gain weight since starting on the other antibiotic and the Celebrex. I JUST CAN'T WIN, HERE!!! I take 3 steps forward, and 6 backward it seems. Oh, well, there is always next year and I will stay with the Atkins Diet, because I feel good. The IBS that I have is all but gone. I haven't had to take anything for sleeping and I am sleeping well. Best of all, NO SUGAR CRAVINGS. So, even if I don't lose a pound, the above is enough to keep me going on it.
Well, everyone, I am leaving ,either later this afternoon or in the morning , for my daughter's. My son was kind enough to come home (he has today off) and take me to the hospital and the Dr. and the Pharmacy (he lives 2 hours away). Bless his heart. Hubby would have taken the time off if he had to, but this sure worked out well.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
ALLY -DREAM ON.. WE ALL KNOW WE WILL GAIN A POUND OR SO AT LEAST.
Meme . pretty children. I have only two G/children and they are grown. I keep wishing for my son to find someone and have some .That doesn't look likely to happen.
It is 70 degrees here tonight and is supposed to rain Christmas eve and Christmas. It will be cold again for the weekend.
All my shopping is done and wrapped. Tomorrow I just have to spiff up things, My daughter and family coming in about noon.
I hope everyone enjoys these next few days...Joanne
Poor Anne...what a bad time to have to stay off your feet!!! I need to go get another shot in my ankle but I'm waiting until after Christmas...I'm supposed to get off my feet, too, after the shot and I just can't right now (if I don't HAVE to). I just thank God I HAVE feet...my first cousin who helped with my Mom's funeral (he's a minister) just had to have his leg amputated yesterday!
Gotta go bake a cake. Then tomorrow I have to make a cheese cake and some strawberry salad...then stuff the turkey tomorrow night so all I have to do Wed. is put it in the oven. Hubby will take the ham over to the trailer (which I still haven't rented!!!) and put it in that oven.
