Default Fibromyalgia #81

Hi everyone. Hope your day is going well.

I finally got my tree up today, and the rest of the house I finished on Friday. Now, I just have to wrap gifts. I also have to do some baking, but I will do that on Thursday and Friday. Maybe, even catch a rest day in here somewhere.

Anagram, I hope that you got your hubby home today - if not then tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas. I know that you are more than thankful that your hubby will be home with you.

I can't remember anything anyone said. Sorry, but that happens when you start a new thread - especially with this foggy brain. I had to buy a new computer. My motherboard refused entry into anything on my old one, so I lost everything on it. Couldn't fix it all as they no longer make that size motherboard (it was only 3 years old). Anyway, this one is a speed demond. I also got Windows XP, which I absolutely love.

Last week, my cousin was killed in a motorcycle accident, and on Friday night a fellow I have known since he was 2 (I was 6) was in a terrible car accident. He had some type of seizure and had to be cut out of the car with the jaws of life and transported to the hospital by helicoptor. He has had 2 surgeries since that time. He is still in intensive care. He has a broken leg, foot, arms. He can't speak or move. Please, if you can, send a little prayer his way. His name is Bob - he is my best friends brother. His parents are like my second mom and dad.

Well, Candice will be tired of reading a long time ago, so I had better quit.

Sorry about your cousin and your friend, Anne! What is the difference between XP and Windows? I'm thinking about getting a Dell...what kind of computer did you get? Mine is only 3 yrs. old, too but 3 years will just about get a computer now days! I'm going to have to have all new appliances so I'll have to wait and see how far my money goes! I'm getting new tile in the kitchen and in my bathroom and carpet in the living, dining room and hubby's bedroom, too...plus new curtains and blinds! That's A LOT! I have been saving forever but I know it will take a lot of money to do all that. The insurance co. owes me quite a bit for when lightening ran in last summer and fried a bunch of stuff! I had $9,000 and the ins. co. owes me over $3,000. Just have to wait and see if I have any left for a computer!

I went to McMinnville and did my other bank shop today...what a long drive. They paid me $45, though. Probably used $5 for gas. I also stopped along the way and finished my Christmas shopping. Now...if I just had everything wrapped. I still have to get some donuts to take to my Dr. office and take #1 daughter to Red Lobster for lunch...

I'm hoping to get my baby granddaughter for the weekend ... ALONE!!! That has NEVER happened! She is 3 and a total delight to be with but every time I've had her the last couple of years I've had Ross (her bipolar brother) so I don't really get to enjoy her. I kept her for the first 2 years of her life and it was great...just the two of us. So I'm looking forward to the weekend. (Please don't get me wrong...I LOVE Ross...he just needs so much attention!)

Gotta go make cabbage beef soup and milky wonder cake for hubby to take to work tomorrow. They take turns bringing in stuff the week before Christmas. He is off all next week...don't know if I can stand him being home that long! We may have to go somewhere!!!

Garlic roasted pecans ( Happy you can eat these on your plan I think!)

Preheat oven to 300

4 cups pecan halves
1/2 cup butter melted
4tsp worchestershire sauce
1TBS garlic salt (or powder if watching your salt intake)
1/2 tsp tabasco or any hot sauce

Mix together and pour over pecans and coat them. (make sure they are on a greased cookie sheet or I use that release foil stuff.) Bake for 30 min at 300 stirring a few times. Turn out on to paper towels to abosrb excess butter and cool! Store in an air tight container! Yummmy!

Candice, those sound really good. I think I might give them a try. I did make some Nuts and Bolts today. My son will be happy.

Meme = I didn't get any name kind. A tech made it for me and I got exactly what I wanted without all the extra crap in it. It is an Athalon 2100 if that helps.

Nope....that 'don't' help 'none'!

Candice...well...I've got some in a CD and some in bonds. I had to pay for the furneral, of course, and that didn't come cheap! Then, I took a couple of vacations in Sept. and Oct. AND went on a shopping spree! I also bought an electric piano with some of it. I had to spend quite a bit on insurance and a driveway for the mobile home so I can rent it out (but haven't found anybody I want living next door to me yet!) I saved back some for decorating, too. I don't usually have any trouble getting rid of money!

As for putting hubby to work...I'd rather do the work myself than to have him under my feet! I'm thinking about going to Nashville Friday and Sat. after Christmas...or I may wait until Monday...appliance shopping. I found what I want here (Maytag) but would like to compare prices from different stores.

Default Hey There

Notlookingback- I went through about 6-8 WW groups untill I found the one that helped me the most. Don't give up. If you are not happy with WW by all means try Tops. My sister is a leader in Tops and I have been giving some thought to going to some of their meetings since there is not a WW group near me at the present time. I am slowly creeping up . She likes Tops. Why don't you go to the tops sight here in the 3FC Healthy Weight Loss Forums and look for Eleni. They all know her there..
Happy -Good for you ..It sounds like you are just about ready for Christmas. I have to spend a good day in the mall yet to finish.
I spent the afternoon today in the Dr.office. He injected my knee again. No fun!.. He said he was going to charge me 5 bucks more for being a gruppy. I told him if he was getting needles stuck in him he would too.
Candice- I am doing very little baking this year.. The deli can do it for me..
Meme- I hope you get to enjoy your G/daughter.
Mima- Hope we have good weather for you in Jan.
Hello Anagrem..Ally
Bye All...Joanne

Hi guys-lights are on thje tree and cards made out so there is progress. I went to my quilters meeting and I didn't know it was a potluck and you were supposed to bring a grab gift-oh well, there's always next year. Showed off my quilt but told them not to look too close. Going to clean and finish my tree today. Walk with Auntie tomorrow-her son is here, my cousin, so he may come too. We grew up together and were always fighting about who could stay at my grandmother's -she couldn't take us together because of our fighting-firstborns in each family-he's really a nice guy now!!!!!Lives in Cal.-Bye for now!Mima

Brought dh home last evening. He's still so weak and I guess we'll just take things day by day. Must take him to dialysis this afternoon. No time for more but glad to hear about all your Christmas prep. Mine is as done as it gets. I did get some shopping in here and there and just need one more thing for ds. Check will do but I'm keeping my mind open. Only two more to wrap. Cards were about ready before dh went to hospital so they're gone. I had done some outside decorating but what's there is there. No lights this year nor did I put the candles in the windows. Brought up my favorite mechanized angel and out cermaic tree plus some tablecloths, etc. That's it. No baking except some meringue cookies doctor wants him to have for protein. Still going to be a wonderful Christmas - along with the one where he was out of hospital only a week after heart surgery and the one where we brought our new baby girl home four days before Christmas.

That's great anagram...good philosophy! Instead of stressing out over everything that DIDN'T get done...be thankful for what IS done and what you HAVE at Christmas! A lot of the people who are so unhappy this time of year make THEMSELVES unhappy because they can't see how blessed they are!

I finished my shopping today...finally got hubby's gift. Now I'm broke! All the cards are done, too...now if I just had all the wrapping done, I'd be ok.

Default Hi

Anagram, glad you got your hubby home. Now you WILL have a great Christmas. Funny how unimportant things become when you are in a crisis.

Well, I am getting there, slow but sure. I have come down with an ear infection and my Achilles Tendon is driving me nuts with pain. Have a cortisone drop for the ear and antibotics, and Celebrex 200mg to try to get the inflammation out of my foot. It hurts right up to the thigh. Hope all this stuff kicks in fast.

I have gotten some baking done. Made some Nanimo squares, Caribbean squares, rum balls, chocolate chip cookies. Still have to make some haystacks, sugar cookies and a danish cookie. Maybe tomorrow. I will also be wrapping presents tomorrow and then I am done. I will have a couple of days to sit back and relax. All this medication is making me really tired - and hungry. I DON'T want to be hungry. I had a chocolate chip cookie today and it WAS sooooo good. Sweet but good.

Everyone have a good day tomorrow.

Some pictures . This is such a beautiful tree. It is a White Pine and has the most beautiful, soft, long needles on it. I just hope it doesn't lose them all in the living room:lol
