Joanne - so you are HOT!!! Well, we had snow on Saturday and Sunday. Not UNHEARD of, but still kind of unusual so late in the month. It usually happens on our long weekend, (22-24 May). Anyway, it is now finished with for this season, they tell us.

Had company from Denmark here for the past couple of weeks, so have been busy and NO computer time. We went sightseeing, visiting, shopping and, of course, to the Rocky Mountains for a few days. When they arrived on the 17 May, the weather was hot - up into the 80's(Summmer). This lasted a couple of days, and then it started to rain, and get cooler - This lasted a few days. When we left for the mountains on the 24 May, it was SPRING, just perfect weather for travelling around. Sunny and warm (in the 70's). By the time the weekend came, we had WINTER. So all three seasons rolled into 2 weeks!

Woke up with a headache this morning. Hope it goes away soon.

Where is Kate?? Hope she is still not in a depressive state.

Happy- Yes it is hot here and will stay that way until at least the end of October. I went out to walk Christie about 8.15 this morning as I do every morning. The minute I opened the door I felt the blast of warm air.
I hope Kate is alright ,she just seemed to drop out.
Tammy- The wedding is over and now maybe you will find something new for you to do. Travel ,join a club and have some fun. I went through some down times when my kids got married and I realized that they were building their own lives and that I had to look for something else to fill my time..
Mima- I hope you are feeling better . Have your tenants moved ?
We have been receiving graduation cards from Great nieces and nephews we have never met or seen. Strange how we become aunt and uncle at that time.. Of course we send a card with a check. It seems that was the idea. Maybe I should not be so negative ,but, I find that difficult.Just venting..
Got some running around to do. Hubby said he wants a lemon pie so I need to go to the grocery and Walmart. They are turning walmart into a super store I may look there and see if I can get it all there..

Joanne, I really don't do well in the heat. I have to windows open today because it's not as hot as it has been, and I'm debating closing them and turning the ac on. I know what you mean about receiving cards about graduations. Kind of like being invited to weddings and you really don't know the people.

Tim invited people to the wedding that he was close to from the family and a couple of my friends and their husbands. Many of my aunts and uncles barely know Tim, and they were not invited (great aunts and uncles to him). He didn't invite Bob's brothers (and you all know why - they are jerks!). My niece invited all of my aunts and uncles, and they hardly know her. they all know Tim better than her, but he said if he invited people he hardly knows, it's like begging for a gift.

Well, let me tell you what my new thing to do is. You know that I have served on many Emmaus teams over the past few years. I received a call the end of April asking me to be the Lay Director on the Women's Emmaus Walk in November! I was nervous about taking it on, but I prayed, and I called the head guy back and said that I will do it. I will be serving along with a pastor that I know who will be the Spiritual Director. She and I are in charge! I have already been getting things together to prepare for it. The team selection committee meeting is on June 15. After that I can start making phone calls to put my team together.

My scripture reference for the walk is Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under Heaven." That verse has always been special to me and even more so during Bob's illness and death. Since I chose that, I have heard the song "Turn, turn, turn" by the Byrds from the 60's that is based on that verse, I have run across the verse in 2 different books that I've read since then, and it was in a movie I watched the other night. I think it was the right verse to choose.

Just broke down and closed the windows and turned the ac on. Couldn't take it any more!! lol

Tammy, I also like that scripture. That one and Romans 8:28 ... We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose. Those are two of my favorites. I wish you well in your endeavor. I'm sure you will be a wonderful director.

It is hot here, too. Hot and muggy. Thunder storms almost every afternoon. Not good weather for arthritis and fibro. Now my back is giving me a fit as well. Got outside and got 30 minutes of sun today. Arms are stinging a little but I felt I needed the Vit. D ... even tho I take supplements.

Been having computer problems ... esp. on this notebook. It could just shut down anytime. Going to buy a new one soon. I've been saving up! So ... going to get off here before I lose this. Hi to evereyone and - Have a good weekend y'all.

I can't go for a walk because of my allergies. Going to get those new rocker shoes-I think, Payless has them -Champions. DIL likes hers though she paid big bucks.

Sent Kate a message. She has been busy, and she just hasn't had time to get on here. She is trying to find some part time work, and she has been having trouble with the fibro.

Tim is coming over to trim bushes and take care of weeds around the bushes. Told him I'd buy him lunch!!

I'm back ... bored, tired, nervous. I bought a pair of Champions @ Payless tonight but they aren't rockers. They have the back out & lace up but they are really comfortable. I started walking on the treadmill this week, it hurts my ankle but I'm doing it anyway. Need to exercise. I have a stress test scheduled for Monday morning but they're using meds for that. I dread it! I'm on Inderal and my heart rate is really slow so it's going to take something for them to get it up where they're going to want it & I have a feeling my body is not going to like that.

Tammy, it's good Tim is helping with the bushes & weeds. Don't know what we'll do when hubby gets where he can't do ours. We have a son, SIL and 2 grandsons but we'll probably have to pay someone. Tomorrow he is going to mow at church then his parent's yard and then our yard. Sure hope it doesn't rain again.

Mima, what do you do for your allergies? I'm on Allegra and a nose spray. They help some but my eyes & nose still run and I have a cough when I go out or around dust and in stores etc. It's aggrevating. Just wondering what others do ...

I take Allegra and have a nose spray. Have Advair and an inhaler for when I have asthma. We opened a lot of pkgs from Oriental Trading and my eyes burned on the way home-could hardly see out of one eye.
The wedding looks like fun. Lots of games etc. Pam did such great planning. We can rest after church tomorrow.
Getting a manicure and pedicure and eyebrow waxing this morning. It's raining. Won't do my hair til later.
Glad you will see Tim. It's hard when they leave home.

Just received the CD with all of the women who have been through Emmaus Walks so I can go through and list those I'd like on the team. We have a team selection meeting on the 15th. There are 8 of us who come together, and we each name the ones on our list for each position. The women whose names are listed the most are the first ones that I have to call, and then work my way down the list till I have the team filled. It's exciting!!

I take Claritin. It works as well as most any of them..
Went out and got my hair cut. Now I am letting the oven clean itself. Then I will wash the ash out.. It was a mess.
Had my Mammogram yesterday. I hate that. I would think at my age I could stop doing that every year. No breast cancer in my family.
I bought a pair of rocker shoes from Avon. They were the worst shoes I ever put on my feet. The arthritis flared up right where the strap went across my ankle. I gave them to goodwill.

I saw those shoes in the Avon book. Hmm. The wedding was a blast-even though I only got 5 and a half hours sleep but will go back to bed before church.
Jessica called yesterday-she is pregnant again-saw her last night and she looks great. Sad story-she's following in the footsteps of her Mom. Yet she's a better mother than her mom. Anyways-it;s a girl and Suzanne offered her some of her things.
We took home the container with all the envelopes because they would have to leave then in the car, So somehow we will see them today,

Suzanne had to bring Lily to the doctor because she has a benign cyst on the back of her neck. They are watching it.
Debbie upstairs got the rental-Praise God. Their new lease starts the 15th. Need to hire people to do the work.

Hello Ladies!

I have fibromyalgia and a few other health conditions I'm working with. I just started physical therapy to help deal with old injuries. Man, it was nice during the process but I was in so much pain afterwards! I'm learning more and more that I have to be vigilant about nutrition, sleep, exercise and stress levels or I pay for it in pain!

sugar causes me bad pain as well as wheat and milk.

Mima- I have found that I cannot take fish oil capsules. The side effects are gas. That gives me too much pain.. The Dr. will have to think of something else.
The weekend is almost here. I sure hope the weather man is right and we may get rain.
Everyone down here is watching the oil spill. It may not get here, but ,you never know. Bad weather off the gulf may change everything.

Today is the first day tenants can move-PTL, Can't wait to get things done. Cherry floors and jade paint-a new quilt-ooooh.
Lily has a cough No fever-hate to see her sick but babysitters child was sick last week.
We are having a yard sale at the campground on sat. I have some stuff but got rid of a lot last year.
It rains every few days here. Brad is building a nice screen house at the campground. And he has lots of work.
And I am working on a recipe book of my mother's recipes. To give to all my family. Bye Mima

The baby bird did not make it. I watched it off and on during the day .About 5 PM I found it under a bush. It had died. I guess the mother bird did not take care of it or she may have pushed out of the nest because she couldn't take care of all three or something was wrong with it. I buried it in my back yard. Then my back talked to me during the night . I had to take a pain pill so I could sleep . Guess I am getting 'too young ' to use a shovel to dig holes.
It is in the 90's with a heat index of a 100 or more.. Still no rain.

Me too-I was afraid for the bird and NO MORE shoveling Joanne!!! I get in trouble all the time doing stuff,
Lily had to go to doc=she has a fever. Virus, Poor baby-she is only 2 and a half months,
My rheumo told me to shower 2x a day and use saline spray for my allergies. I will try anything.
Gotta get my car serviced today. Have the brakes checked.
Think tenants did some moving last night,

It's official =they are leaving by Sunday night. Had an argument about the rent-I don/t want the 3rd week and Debbie is insisting. Ha!
Got things lined up-Angela's dad and bil will do lots of the work. Need a cleaner.
Busy weekend-Bible study tonight, flea mahket in am, graduation party in pm. Sunday????
I baked lemon squares and a chocolate cake . Brad said the crust on the lemon squares was too hard,

Mima - glad the tenant is gone, and now you can start the clean-up and the repairs. Smoke gets into EVERYTHING. Need to wash the walls as well and clean carpets. Hope you can get it all gone. Glad baby is doing better again. Not nice when they get sick, when so young.

Joanne - Hope you have had some rain. I would LOVE to send you some. I am sick to death of it. Had a beautiful weekend, but it seems it is going to start with showers again today. The good thing is, it keeps the allergies at bay a bit, and everything is nice a green and lush. The flowers are beautiful now. Rose bushes, peonies, lilacs and Spring flowers are everywhere, and the colors are amazing.

Tammy - hope all is well with you. Where are you?? I guess busy organizing.

We went to a brunch and theater the other day. It was The Buddy Holly story and it was great. Loved the music. The brunch was great as well. Had a Father's Day BQ at my daughters, and my son and his family were there as well. So a really nice weekend.

Thank God my carotid artery test was normal. Haven't had vertigo lately.

I have been having computer problems and changed my address. This has made me a wreck... This is supposed to be a better site and will save me a little money..
Very hot here and we still are dry.. Looks like the hurricane is going to Mexico. I could have used a little of it's rain.

This a new week and I hope to get more done . The past week has not been the best one.. At my 'young' age getting a service change is a little upsetting. It is still a work in progress. I sent a email to Suzanne to see if she could me get on the mailing list. I can't seem to find a way.
It is still very hot and humid here. It is raining in Florida just not at my house.
The son is signing up for his law inforcement(sp) classes today and getting books and what he will need for his classes.I hope it all goes well for him.
Monday chores are waiting on me. A bath for Christie,clean her crate and my own chores to get done..

Hey ... I'm still here in TN, where it is very hot. Raining right now, storming actually, and supposed to cool down by Wed into the 80s instead of nearly 100. That will be a little better, at least we will be able to breathe when we go outside.

Taking today off .... actually, taking several days off. Had whole family over yesterday for Father's Day and daughter's 40th BD. We were in NC last weekend so missed Father's Day. Came back Monday and went to Dr. with bloodclot in right arm. Then had Ross and Jenna Tues-Thur. Between the trip, the kids and the party, I'm exhausted, need major restoration time. Don't know why I do that to myself - dumb, dumb, dumb!

Joanne, sorry about the baby bird and I know how you feel about the new email account. I just had to get a whole new notebook computer with Windows 7 and it's a brand new experience. I was just getting comfortable with XP. Now I have to go back and forth from XP on the desktop in the bedroom to Windows 7 on the Notebook in the livingroom. Confusing and expecially when I've had a Darvocet! LOL

I'll be back, and hopefully it won't be so long this time. I'm just so tired all the time.

Hello Everybody- The computer problems may be settled. Had a problem yesterday. Spent about an hour with support guy who finally gave me a number to Dell who wanted 60 dollars to help me. I said thanks but no thanks. My son came over when he say I was having a meltdown. It took him about one minute to fix it..Tomorrow Bright House is sending someone to fix a small problem with the T V. The picture freezes now and then ,but, the audio stays on.. weird problems we are having all of at once.
We finally have had two evening of rain. I don't care if it rains every day for awhile. We need it.
Today I need to go to w/m and then I will think about some more chores to get done..

Glad to hear your computer problem is solved-it;s so frustrating.
We got trim at HomeDepot and I put on the first coat. I also got great bargains yesterday=3 outfits at Salvation Army for 15-Alfred Dunner, Talbot, Coldwater Creek, Briggs, Old Navy. Funny.
going to gf's for lunch-she has a pool. Getting stressed. It will be good to relax. I don't want to mention this to you Joanne, but we have the heat on. Just for one day-Mima

The heat on.. my ac never stops.. This has been the hottest month ever.. The Bright House TV man is supposed to come sometime before noon. The picture freezes at times although the audio continues..
Maybe more rain today. We will take all we can get.. I live on a hill, sorta, so we are never bothered with flooding.Some areas are already having a problem.. Not much news this way so I better get busy . Back later..Joanne

PTL we have more than eough points to get 2 free tickets for our trip to Denver for the wedding.
Went to my gf's house for lunch but it was too cold to swim. Had such a nice time.
Never heard of Bright House. We have satellite and it sometinmes doesn't work when there are storms-mostly at the campground.

Bright House must just be down here.. I like it better so far than Verizon.. And it is less money for the same and more that we were getting.

Good morning everybody. Sorry to be gone so much, but I have been working a lot, and I just don't have the energy to sit and post. I have been reading, however.

Mima - Canada Day was a good day. Although I didn't do much. My brother and SIL came on Wednesday night. We went to Tony Roma's for some of those delicious RIBS, and then came back and played cards. They went back home the next day. Sure enjoyed that visit.

Glad your house is coming along. Are you looking forward to moving in upstairs, again?

Joanne - glad your computer woes are just about behind you. Nice that your son could help you out. I had to take my computer into the shop a couple of weeks ago. Had some kind of malware on it. Apparently my antivirus was NOT working, although it said everything was ok. So you never no!

Meme - I guess you have just been you usual busy self! Hope you did take some time to do NOTHING but rest. I don't mind Window's 7 but sure didn't like Vista. I think XP was still my favorite.

Not much is new. Summer is here - some days are rainy and cool, and some are nice and warm. Next week, looks like it's going to be a very HOT week. Not looking forward to that so much. Don't care for that hot weather. Like it around 78F - perfect.

Where has Tammy got to? I wonder if Kate got a job? My goodness, so many questions lol

It's going to be in the 90's all week and we have this big thing at church-outside, Hope they move it in esp since we will be in Colonial costumes.
It was 63 in the apt. Yes, I am dying to move upstairs-they didn't work til today because Eddie wasn't feeling well-but they are doing a beautiful job.
Brad and I painted the front of the screen porch at camp-=then it got too hot. That porch looks good and it will be so nice.]
My old neighbors were at Bob's cookout and Jessica and Caleb-he's so cute . She will be having her baby at the end of the month. We had a little shower for her because we won't be there next weekend. It's in RI.
She even loved the used clothing I found-but it looked new.
And Lily never cried=she is going to have red hair for now. What a sweetie!!

After being in the 70's and 80's for four days now it is in the 90's.. Already I am wishing for rain to cool us off.. This has been an unusual year.
I am still having some computer problems. They darn thing keeps me from getting on line and then I have to spend about an hour with a support person to get it fixed.
Seems like we have lost Kate. I hope she is well. Tammy and Meme must be busy.
I decided to not eat anything after dinner(5 P.M.) and it seems to be helping I have lost a few pounds. I hope I don't find them again. That's the way it is with me.
I hope you all are having a good week. I seem to stay busy here in the house.. It is too hot to do much outside..
