Good morning everyone!! Yes, I am still alive and kicking here in Florida! It has been an unusually stressful beginning to the summer months here. I have gained back 5 pounds and am having a difficult time getting back to a low carb lifestyle....but I do keep trying! My FM has been extremely unmanageable...very difficult getting up in the morning. I tried a new therapy called ETPS....a TENS type unit that uses a direct current to the nerves. It works great for me but is too expensive for regular treatments. I am going to go through the posts to see what I have missed. I hope everyone is doing well! Missed you all!!
|
Nice to hear from you Kate-this has also been a stressful summer for me with this apt and moving back upstairs. Which may happen this coming weel. Meanwhile I am involved in a church Festival and I have a colonial costume and it's hot here-after 4 days of 90's, it's in the 80's.
Couldn't sleep well last night/ I orderes crocs specially made for things like plantar fasciitis which I have again. 22 with shipping. Crocsrx.com Hope you feel better Kate. But glad you posted, I went for a haircut and she was talking about her upcoming divorce. She asked me how short amd I told he but it came out shorter, It will grow out. Kinda funny-poor gal-her husband left her. Mima |
Another visit to the forum....I'm trying to be more conscientious about staying in touch here! Mima, I hope the move is going well. I had to renovate my first house here in Florida from the smokers who owned it. We even had to have the vents cleaned....you might want to ask Stanley Steemer about that service? I had to use the saline nose irrigation this spring for allergies as well. It really does work but you have to be diligent about doing it every day. I've never heard of Bright House either....must be a west coast Florida company. Is it broadband? Sort of like the Comcast we have available here?We just recently switched from Direct TV satellite to AT&T Uverse....we like it much better! We bundled our phone, internet and television and we end up paying less. We had the same problem with the satellite going nuts during heavy rains and t-storms.
I just hate that I have gained 5 pounds. I am trying to stay away from all the carbs but for some reason I just don't enjoy lunch and dinner without something starchy like whole wheat pasta or brown rice or some sort of potato. I just am not that big of a meat lover and find it difficult to pair that with just a salad. I would rather have just a huge salad with a big hunk of whole grain, crusty bread. The other issue is sometimes we don't eat until 7 at night because hubby gets home from work late. I would like to not eat after 5-6 pm myself but it never seems to work out that way. By the time I eat, clean up the kitchen, walk the dog and shower the bug spray off me, it's around 9 pm. Hubby goes to bed early because he goes to work at 5 am....I feel like a live-in housekeeper! Not a great way to live but what can you do? I still haven't found any part time work either. I have been knocking around the idea of doing another business but would like to stay away from doing anything involving food. I was actually thinking of opening a premium pet food store....cater to all those people from Vero Beach who spend lots of money on golf and their pets! Off to run some errands. I hope all is well with everyone. I haven't heard from Tammy lately but based on her Facebook page, she appears to be doing well. I'll check back tomorrow. |
Good morning-we got much needed rain yesterday-had to move all inside except for the goats and ducks. We made cute yarn dolls in our room. Still only the church kids -they were wonderful!!!
I have a cold-so congested, wheezy. need zinc.-it's at camp so I will get some more. We are having a church picnic today and the sun is out!! Can't find the perfect bedspread yet!! Bye for now. mima |
Good morning everyone. Mima, have you tried Home Goods for that bedspread? We have one here in Vero that is fabulous.....one of my favorite stores as a matter of fact. I have gotten some great deals on home decor there. I bought a beautiful duvet cover for my guest room comforter there.
When it comes to decorating, I like to see and feel whatever I purchase before buying it but I'll bet you could find some great bedspreads online. Not much new here. The weather is still hot but the humidity seems to be subsiding. We have to remove two dead trees on the front property and replace them. This was a tough winter for some of the more southern species. I lost my Royal Poinciana and a Foxtail palm. We'll replace them with something a bit more cold tolerant I guess. Just had a short walk with the dog....we try to get out early before the heat gets too unbearable. Queenie has been doing very well so far this summer. She doesn't care for it when iut gets too hot.....and neither do I! Off to get some weeding done. Hope all is well with everyone. |
Hey There
Well My weekend started with a bang.. The A.C went out and we had to sleep at the sons last night. I guess we will be there till the A.C is fixed or we get another one. This one lasted almost 30 years and we have had only one time repair.. It is just too hot for us to be without one..
Otherwise we are well. Not going to be too easy to stay on my eating plan.. The son made breakfast and it was too good. Eggs with cheese and real bacon. I always buy Turkey bacon.. I came home to gather some things and get a bath while they are in church.. Have a nice day...Joanne |
Hi Everyone~ I am new to the site and I spotted a Fibromyalgia post, so I thought I could pop in and say hello.
Joanne- no a/c? I would completely die. My hubby on the other hand is fine with just the fan going. Even though it has been 95 and above the last week. I hope it is ok that I joined you, looking for support in the weight loss category, but also with the fibro. Hope you are all having a good, pain-free weekend! Adrienne |
Hi Altoanya!!! Joanne, you will not believe the difference in your electric bill with a new system -also check on rebates for more efficient systems. 30 years is a long time. But you sure can;t go without ac.
Love Homegoods-can go to Marshall's next week. and TJ Max. So sick[I guess it's a virus. Probably going to cancel my doc's appt . Now it's going into my chest. Waiting for our wedding invite-it's in the mail-I bet they sent it to FL so it will take a long time. I am driving the groom -Isaac-crazy because I need the info to plan but we are almost there. waiting for our FL friends to let us know what they want to do. Wow-he has 7 groomsmen. He has so many friends. Bye for now MimA |
Good morning everyone. A terrible week ahead....my husband's brother died unexpectedly Sunday morning. He was 62 years old. He had a history of heart problems but this was certainly an unexpected event. Hubby will be flying back up north for an overnight memorial service and to see his family this Friday. It will be a necessary and brief visit. I'll stay here and hold down the fort as the airfare was very expensive for such short notice. Poor hubby....his only sibling!
Joanne, thirty years for an A/C....great deal! Mima is right about the savings on the electric bill. The new units are very efficient and you will get a great tax credit for going to a more energy efficient model. Make sure you save your paperwork for next year's taxes. Welcome Altoanya......my food plan is the South Beach diet which I am not doing so well on at the moment. I certainly do love my carbohydrates! I keep plugging away at it though. Need to get some housework done. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day. |
Hey Kate, nice to see you posting again. My condolences to you and your hubby on the loss of his brother. He must be upset. Hope he has a safe trip. The old FM has not been very nice the past couple of weeks. The weather has been wet and cool and that = pain. However, this too shall pass. I need to really give myself a good talking to and get busy on some sort of eating plan. This is just crazy. Can't seem to get myself motivated, and then when I do, this darn FM brings on fatigue and I would kill for sugar and carbs.
Joanne - gosh, I hope you get a new AC soon. That old one sure doesn't owe you a thing after 30 yrs. I am sure you will notice a huge difference in the efficientcy of the new one as well. I like ours, as it runs through the furnace. Just set the temp for what I want and it stays there, so it's always comfortable. Not that we need one these days. It barely seems to get up into the 70's. July has been a cooler than usual month, that is for sure. Right now it is only around 50F out there and going to a high of 60 today; and it has been raining since yesterday. I LOVE bacon, and it's ok, if you just have one or two pieces. The problem is it doesn't like me much. Mima - Sounds like you are coming along nicely with your house. Now, I hope you are feeling a lot better today. Welcome Adrienne. Come join us. We aren't many, but at times we are chatty and we understand where you are as well. Everybody have a good day. Meme, come out and play wherever you are. |
Hey There
We didn't get a new AC. It was a broken wire. The guy that fixed it said that even though it was 30 years old it was still a better ac than the new ones. We paid a lot for it when we got it new. He suggested we keep it . he goes to the same church as my son so knowing that I trust his judgement. He could just as easy sold us a new one.
Then the car had to go to the shop today. That patch work taken care of . Then my phone went on the blink. It would cost more to fix it than to almost buy a new one. My son had a good one he wasn't using. So he gave us that one.Next pharmacy made a mistake with my hubby's medication and I have that to deal with tomorrow. Now all this in one week.. I think I will run away!!! Joanne |
You are having quite a week with stuff. Joanne, Brad has been so busy with AC work. Sometimes it's a dirty filter and sometimes the switch is off. And he gets 85 for showing up!!!
orry about hubby's brother, Kate. Last minute flights are so expensive. I though I had 3 free flights but si far I have to pay one way. That's not bad, I am so trustrated because the couple we are meeting have not confirmed their plans. And our invite went to FL and it's not here yet. That would be the wedding in Denver, I feel so much better-actually getting stuff done. Hope your fm is better Anne. It's so hot and muggy here, Stay good all Mima |
Good morning all. I'm trying to tie up loose ends for hubby to take off Friday morning. He's been in a real funk these past few days and I sense he does not really want to make this trip. The expense has us both worried. And to top it all off...last evening I was cooking dinner when hubby came home and he mentioned that it felt too warm in the house. I went over to the thermostat and it registered 82 degrees! I just lost it at this point and thought "Here we go again!!!" I had to call the A/C repair company and they sent a guy out as an "emergency" call. Guess what that cost us??? I expected the worse but it turned out to be a clogged thing-a-majig in the line. So, $194 later, we have our cool air again. Couldn't I just scream!! I am going to find a very quiet spot on this planet to hide pretty soon! Off to get the house cleaned and run a couple of errands for hubby. I'll be glad when this week has ended. I feel so terrible for my MIL....she isn't taking this too well. I fear she may be the next casualty. Hope everyone enjoys their day.
|
Hey There
All my little problems got cleared up.. I did something to my back. I'll just sit with the heating pad today and it will get better.. My daughter is coming for a few days next week. She may help me clean my carpet.. We also will have a good time at the mall. The son starts school at for law inforcement Monday.. Please send up some prayers for him. It seems strange ,here is a man with 4 degrees in architect design going back to school and starting all over again. He is really worried about it . After being out of school so many years,he is afraid he will not do well. I told him to just think that he can do it and do it well.
Hope things go well for the hubby ,Kate, Sorry to hear about his loss. Have a good day everybody..Joanne |
I hope all goes well, Kate. Children aren't supposed to die before their parents but it sure happens. I know 3 people whose sons got killed in their 20's. One was Brad's and you never forget.
I can't do much without getting sore. My foot and back aren't too good from clinbing the stairs but a lot is up there. We had to go to Lowe's and get the right floor leveler so the bathroom floor is one day behind. Had spearmint and vanilla dairy free soft serve last night. Yum!!! Bye for now Mima |
Hi all! I think of you often, but I just don't stop in and post.
Kate, so sorry to hear of your loss Take care everyone! |
Tried to read all the posts and catch up ... quite a bit of catching up. Kate, so sorry about your BIL.
Been hurting really bad, weather here has been so bad for the rheumatic diseases. It's thundering even as I type ... and hot, oh my. Heat index over 100 some days even with the rain. I've been staying in the bed a lot and that's just not like me. I get out on Wed evening - go to church to practice with the Praise Team for the Sun Morn service and stay for the service then I usually go get groceries and out to eat on the weekend sometime and to church Sunday and that's about it for me. I don't feel like going that much but I make myself. Don't want to give up life completely. Hubby was working 10 hrs. - gone about 12 and that was killing me but he's back on reg. hrs so he can help some now. His mom and dad need a lot of help and he has to do that, too. I was having to go to the store for them, etc. At least I don't have to do that now. I'm just in pain and so tired all the time. I know you all know what I'm talking about. With the Fibro, both kinds of arthritis and anemia, I'm about ready to just give in to it all ... but I know I can't do that. I'm hoping this weather will let up soon. I've given up on sleep. OK ... I'm done. Sorry! :p |
Good morning-I keep losing my posts.
Hi Meme! it's not as hot here but humid=last morning in smelly apt. Moving the furniture upstairs while I am gone, Brad is good. Work upstairs is not perfect but overall it's nice.Love my new bedroom. White woodwork, seafoam green walls and a cherry floor. Jessica had her baby Friday. Now I am an a step great-grandma. Not going to Yellowstone but have our plans made for the Denver wedding in August. Going to work for 3 days this week and 4 next week. Ending this before it gets lost. Mima |

Adorable baby.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for that adorable picture, Mima. Such a cute little girl! we're finally getting back to some sense of normalcy after a terrible week. Hubby made the trip up to R.I. and back in about 24 hours. His flight leaving Orlando was delayed 3 hours going out but was a fast trip coming home on Saturday. After he left on Friday, my neighbor called and I had to dash over to her house to see if we could get her husband up off the floor....he's the neighbor who has cancer and the 3rd round of treatments did not work. He had his family drive down from New Jersey on Saturday morning and he passed yesterday at 3 pm. It was wonderful that his 3 boys, wife, BIL and sister got to be here for him. (I swear he waited until he knew his closest people were around before he could go.) My hubby got a chance to go over a few times this past weekend when he got back and say his "goodbyes"....they were good buddies and spent a lot of time sitting out in their garages together. So, my hubby has lost two people close to him in a matter of 10 days. I know what you mean about parents losing their children before their time, Mima. My mother lost her son, my brother Douglas, before her death in 1998. She really never did get over it.....and I think of them both every day. My sister, Diane, is not in that great of health so I worry about her too.
My next worry is a very large varicose vein in my left leg. I am going to guess it runs the entire length of my leg and wraps around from the front groin area to the back, bottom of my calf. It is huge and I think it might be that "main-vein" of the leg. Since I have been having some unusual discomfort lately in that leg, I am thinking it might have something to do with that vein. Guess I will have to see a vascular doctor and find out what should be done. I am not so much concerned that it looks terrible but I certainly don't want to have any health issues because of it. Well, it's good to see Tammy post!! How is everything Tammy?? The heat index here in Florida is brutal......no rain at all for the past few weeks and our lawns are looking the worse for it. I sure would like a big thunder and rain storm right about now! I hope everyone is doing well.....it seems we are all having some FM issues lately. I think stress is playing a big role in my symptoms for the past few weeks. I hope things quiet down now and there are no more casulaties for awhile! Bye for now. |
Sorry about your neighbor, Kate.
No sleep again tonight. Eye Doc today and I guess a sugar low after dinner. I ate dinner and cookies and told hubby how I was feeling, he took my sugar and it was still only 81 so no telling what it was before I ate. I was having to sit down every 5 or 10 minutes while I was cooking. Makes no sense really but can't figure out what else it could have been. Still don't feel quite right. Ate several more oreos and still feel weird. Got a headache from the eye tests. I have glaucoma and they did a bunch of them today. May be partly from the sugar low ... I don't know ... I have too much wrong with me and it all runs together sometimes. Could just be the anemia making me feel llike this - how do you tell??? Then there's the tinnitus. The ringing in my ears is so bad right now I want to just rip my head off and throw it outside. But then I'd be "like a chicken running around with it's head chopped off." :p |
Good morning everyone. Meme, I had some high eye pressure issues (pre-glaucoma) and had to have all those glaucoma tests every year too. I hated it when they used the dilator drops.....my eyes would be dilated for almost 24 hours. They used to apply a "reverse dilation" eye drop but all of a sudden, it was no longer available. I always got headaches the day of my ophthamologist appointment. And while I don't have constant tinnitus, I do get an occasional ringing so I understand how annoying it can be. They say tinnitus is hereditary....my mom had it too. Have you had your blood pressure checked lately? Feeling dizzy, ringing in the ears and headaches sound like something more than hypoglycemia. I hope you feel better soon and get a handle on whatever is causing you trouble.
Hubby took Friday off so we could attend our neighbor's service. I undersand the two sons from up north are going to spend an extra couple weeks here with their mom....her oldest son already lives here. Between the three boys and the grandchildren, she will keep busy for a few weeks. Not sure how things will go when they leave and she is alone with no one to "take care of". I think she is planning on going back to work. The weather has been very hot and humid despite the fact we have had virtually no rain for a month! We sure could use some decent rainfall....all the lawns are burning up and everything looks parched. Off to get some housework stuff done before I go to get my hair cut today. I'm keeping it very short and sassy this summer. Not hard to do with a head full of gray hairs! Hope everyone is doing okay. |
Sad about your neighbor Kate. Just got home from work and upstairs is a mess. But I will fix it slowly. Brad is such a slob-all his tools are there plus a huge box of rubbish. He spends all his time trying to straighten out the tv.
I got a gorgeous comforter at T J Max!! Perfect color. And a royal blue blouse for the engagement ceremony/ and a blue shirt for Brad. Just need a dress. My gf and I had such fun working, Hope they call her for next week. Bye for now. Mima |
Hey There
Kate - I have always heard that these things, like loss of close family or friends, happens in threes..
I am almost glad to hear we may get a tropical storm. It will cool things off and give us some rain.. Been cleaning carpets this week along with squeezing in Dr and blood draw visits. Got another room tomorrow. Our daughter here to help me.. Meme- I hope you are feeling better soon. Mima- You know men can't do anything without making a mess or sometimes having direction. Stay /get healthy everybody...Joanne |
Brad used all his energy trying to set up the tv-he's on his 3rd plan. He did get a lot of tools out.
Rug cleaning today. Stanley Steemer. I am not as ambitious as you, Joanne, We will have to go to the camp to sleep I think, Gotta stop cleaning-I am getting wheezy. Bye for now-Mima |
Hey There
I finally got all my carpets clean. My daughter brought her Steam clean machine and we worked for 2 days. Both of us were tired and sore.It had to be done. I may hire it out next time, although ,I did that once and they did not do the job to satisfy me. I had to do all over.
We are get a small amount of rain from the storm. I mean a small amount.. Hope everyone Is healthy ..Joanne |
Well-we got a large amt and we stayed at home. Found out there are cracks in the floor of the shower and I found the receipt in the 2008 files. They will send a new floor. Off course, I also looked in 2007.
Everything came out awesome. I love Stanley Steemer. It wasn't cheap because we have a 17 foot couch. Now I am looking for curtains. Bye for now-Mima |
Hi everyone. Why is it that some men think they are entitiled to sit around and avoid any home maintenance chores on weekends?? I got one half day of a three day weekend out of him! I managed to finish the rest of the to-do list just a few minutes ago. Joanne, we had some significant rain on Friday but we are back to hot and humid now. Just fertilized the lawn and watered it in. I also did Bioguard's pool optimizer over the past few days to keep my pool's ph from fluctuating too much. I use a salt cell and have beautiful water to swim in but the ph seems to like to climb a bit. This stuff I added over a few days will prevent that. The memorial service for our neighbor was very nice on Friday. He was an Elk so they did a light reception after the service. All in all, a very nice tribute but very emotional too. I just hope his wife can manage once the rest of the family departs. Two of her sons will stay until the end of the week and then go back to New Jersey. Her third son lives here with his wife and 2 children so hopefully the grandkids will keep her busy.
Very tired and sore from all the yard work I did today. Need to take some Advil and rest. Hope everyone is keeping out of trouble!! |
Good morning all. Lots of thunder yesterday afternoon and this morning but no rain....overcast so far today too.We are desperately needing rain here folks!! Trimmed my shrubs in the front of the house yesterday....thought I was going to get heat stroke it was so blasted hot! I didn't know a person could sweat so much. At least it looks neat and tidy now. Not much new here.....just waiting for a big rainfall. I am very sore. Need to call podiatrist to see if there is a different medication for the top of my foot....I have an "entrapped nerve" that is very painful. The prescription he gave me was too expensive....$76 with insurance....a steroid tape. Need to find a cheaper solution. Hope everyone is doing okay.
|
Good morning everyone. Another HOT day here in Florida with NO rain in the forecast! Yikes......might have to consider moving half way back to New England if this keeps up! Nothing new to report on this end....still having terrible FM days. I had a third neighbor ask me if I was "limping" when I walk Queenie. I must look like I am because that's the third time I have heard the comment. Guess I should get to a vein doctor about that leg, huh? Hope everyone is holding up okay.
|
Hi Kate. Nice to see you have kept the homefires burning! I wonder where everybody has gone. I have been way to busy working and no energy or desire to be on the computer when I get home.
You are hot, and it is cool here for July. Had more rain than I ever care to see again. It is humid here as well, and that in itself, is strange. Usually we are very dry. Just too much mositure around here. Everything is beautiful and green and lush, though. I have to say, we have not had any violent storms here, just a lot of steady rain (4 inches ). The ground is saturated and no place for anymore to go. Now with the heat (it has only been in the 70"s for the whole month) which is perfect temps, but no really HOT days. The farmers are going to have bumper crops they say if it stays dry enough to get the stuff off the fields. I wonder if all this moisture means heavier snowfall this winter??? Sorry you are having such a time with the FM. The humidity does it to me, so I join you in this pain. I am heading to surgery on my toe. Got in to see an orthopedic specialist a couple weeks ago. Should get a date set soon. Won't be able to wear anything but a sandal for 8 weeks she said. Hi Mima and Joanne and Meme, wherever you are! I guess Tammy is busy doing other stuff. Hope all is well with everybody. |
Good morning. we are spending the weekend ata Mission Conference nearby but sleep at home. Awesome people. Sure helps me to fucus and not obsess about what needs to be done here.
Shower is already here. Wonderful company to deal with. Brad ordered new shoes from podiatrist-orthotics and everything. He got velcro-sign of old age!! Bye for now, Mima |
Good morning all. Sitting here at the computer watching my landscape guys cut down my Royal Poinciana. I just want to cry over losing that tree! HHe will be planting a new one opposite the old site as the stump will be left in the ground. He will grind the stump down and put sod over it but the new Poinciana will go in closer to our driveway. Not sure if that is a good thing considering how messy they are during their bloom! Ohh well, the beauty of the tree will make up for it. I just hope this winter isn't cold enough to kill another one!!
Hubby has the weekend off. Nothing planned but after these past two weeks, we could use the rest. Another neighbor a few houses down dies this past Wed. She was 75 and had many health problems. We took the husband over a chicken pot pie last evening. Sounds like you are getting all our rain, Anne. We sure could use some here. My neighbor from New Brunswick is up there visiting with her family now and won't be home until Aug 21. She said the weather has been beautiful. Her husband will be home tomorrow but she is staying a few more weeks. He is a probation officer in our county. That is all that's new here. Hope everyone is feeling okay....I am still suffering with this FM more that usual it seems. I have a doctors appointment next Wed so I will just have to let him know I guess. Bye for now. |
Hey There
Hello Everybody.. Thank the good Lord. The relatives have all gone home.. My nephew passed through town and we ate out..My hubbies nephew was here in town for a week vacation. They rented a house for a week on the water. we ate at their house.. You know what those two nights cost me ?5 pounds!!!I know there was a lot of salt in the food. My legs look like bowling pins they are so swollen.I really tried to be careful too.
It is so hot here. High 90's and index over 100's. 70 degrees sounds wonderful to us down here.. No rain ,everything is so dry. I should get out and do some watering ,but, just can't stand the heat and humidity. My joints are just screaming.. I have been making some pillows for my daughter for her birthday. They are all quilted by hand. That is what she wanted. She wants another quilt for Christmas for her couch in the T.V. room. I guess I will make it single size.. I do enjoy making things for my kids.. I want to make another one for myself. I have to arrange my time.. I always design my work. I never make two alike.. My hubby is the same as a lot of men his age. They are willing to let us do it all. I told him that his chore was to wash the dishes and clean the table off after our meals. It works sometimes. Have a good weekend..Joanne |
Good afternoon everyone. Well, it seems to be going from bad to worse around here! I am doing a full system, online computer scan even as I write this....I am letting it run in the background. It seems that a spyware virus got into my computer when hubby downloaded a game from a well known game site. My Internet Explorer search engine would not activate because this "bug" keeps changing the settings. After spending an hour on the phone with Microsoft tech support, I am cleaning it out of the computer. I am going to get rid of my current virus/spyware protection, Trend Micro, and go back to Microsoft Essentials, too. My current "protection" did not catch the spyware coming in on the file. Hope this puts things right with my computer. Poor hubby...I really gave him an ear full with this one....especially since he had another unproductive weekend with maintenance! The weekend just didn't go right. As a matter of fact, this past month was just awful in general!
We are supposed to be getting some rain today but it sure isn't looking like it right now....very sunny and hot! It has been a terribly hot summer so far. I sure hope we don't get the record cold like last winter though. I just can't afford to keep replacing my trees every year! Joanne, how fortunate for your daughter that you are talented with quilt making!. My mom made each of us kids a quilt and each was different. Mine was all hand sewn and quilted....a beautiful colorful star on white background. She hand quilted a design over the entire background. I will always treasure it. It had some fraying along one edge and there is a woman in New Hampshire that does repairs on heirloom quilts. I just never got around to sending it up there to be repaired. My mom was very talented with cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Probably because she grew up during the depression. I'm boiling off some country style spare ribs. I'm trying to find a sugar free barbacue sauce to bake them off the rest of the way. It looks like I will just have to make my own! Off to finish my "to-do" list for Monday. I hope everyone is feeling okay and enjoying the summer. Bye for now. |
My post is in cyberspace. Here's the short version.
Love quilts and happy my son and his wife still love the one I made years ago. Wonderful weekend with missionaries. Great testimonies. Jessica's ac is not working and walmart wouldn't take it back. You wait-Gail will fix it!!! I hope. Suzanne is taking 2 tests for 2 jobs in CT. Prayers for her. We fly to Denver in a week!!! Still working on the upstairs. Took Auntie to lunch. She was wearing nice JEANS with a lime green blouse. 87!!!!!!! Mima=stay cool |
Hi everyone. Another hot and hazy day in Florida! We are SO needing some rain!! I vaguely remember posting something similar about this time last year, yes?? On my walk with Queenie last evening, I picked up a goose feather at our local park (which has a big pond with a water feature). Don't you want to know it had a single fire ant on it that managed to bite/sting my knuckle! So here I am with a hugely swollen right hand that is itching like crazy....I am so allergic to those disgusting beasts! I will be taking Benedryl now for the rest of the week! That should teach me to leave things alone on the ground. One tiny bite and my hand looks mangled. Guess we are starting August out on the right foot, huh?? Well, at least my computer is working better than ever now. (I better not say that too loud!) Not much else going on....doing a lot of hand watering to keep shrubs/lawn barely alive until we get some rain. Hope everyone is doing okay. I'll check back later.
|
Hey There
It is so true,WE NEED MORE RAIN. my sister just 2 miles away from me has had rain for the last 3 nights.
Kate ,I too am allergic to bug bites.. I have used pure ammonia on a piece of cotton or gauze to kill the poison of the bite.. I love to wear jeans.. Been wearing them all my life.. Now I make my own as I have to make one leg wider to hide my brace. Hello Everybody...Joanne |
