Been busy but don't want to bore you with the mundane details of my life...lest I risk another lecture!

I gained back all 6 pounds that I lost before I got sick. Gonna have to do something about that! I've been really nervous and when I get nervous I eat!

Dh is cooperating fully (not something he always does) with new kidney dr. Had more blood work, etc. yesterday. They've changed some of his bp meds. Also told him potassium levels high (usually low) and made some diet changes. Will have ultrasound, more blood work next Wed. He feels well, golfed yesterday, plans to tomorrow and Sat. I've started to keep a med journal on each of us; wish I had done that years ago. I was able to reconstruct a lot from the kidney problems he had two years ago. Don't know if it will help drs. a lot but it helped me to review it all.

I have not done well over the weekend and seem to be retaining water (I salt almost nothing and when I eat something prepared by someone else I do bulk up on water). I am feeling an urge to eat I have not been having lately. I'm assuming it's the additional stress and trying to let my mind rule the situation. My mind doesn't always listen to me.

We're going to work this am; look for some fun thing to do this afternoon since it's supposed to be a beautiful day and I think we both need to go out and have some fun.

Candice, my son's room (I'm ashamed to say) is as he left it when he went to college in 1983. I've packed it up several times and he comes home and puts stuff out. We have an ongoing battle over it. Btw, he married in 1991 but still seems to need what I call "his shrine". Actually, now I suspect he just needs to torment me. I clean it up maybe twice a year. But ONE OF THESE DAYS......Right now I have too many other things to work on that i don't seem to get done.

Happy, we don't seem as Yappy as last several weeks. Hope all are feeling better.

Default Hey There

I decided I better come on and say hello or I would not get any notifications. Oh yes,I found out I had to report to boards so that I could get notifications.
My son left home a few times. Moved back for awhile after his wife and he broke up. The last time he left,I decided it was the last. A lot of grown men get along better with their parents when they don't live with them. He is one of them. His room is now my room and a visitor now and then. I do my sewing and crafts there. My daughters room became my hubbys room. We have a sleeper couch there when all the family is here at once.
Happy- You are so right! I have to stay busy. I go from morning to night. I have sewed since I was a little girl . I was in a convent school. The nuns were good at keeping us busy. That was in the late 30's ,early 40's. It was not the happiest time in my life.I lived there. I was too young to not have parents there .
Meme- We all do the best we can. I don't mind you unloading. I think we all need someone sometime. If it makes you feel better,go for it. We are all here for each other.
Candice- turn that room of your sons into your room. He has his own life now.
Anagram..I too have the desire to eat when I think things are piling up on me. I mean a real binge sometimes. I know that just about every food product in the stores are full of salt. I feel that one of the best things to do is not add more. Even though sometimes I do and have to pay the price later. I like junk food and probably always will.I am glad your hubby is doing better. There is nothing worse than a man sick.
Mima- Feel better soon...It is nice not to work.
Hello Ally- Serenity.. How is it going with WW?
Got to go girls. I have lots to do. I am making some new things to take on my trip...Bye, Joanne

Hi Gals

I am just fine - still losing weight - slowly.

Thought I had entered mssge last week but guess it didn't go in.

I too am wheezing - my allergies and asthma are bad. Mold, pollen, ragweed, etc etc etc. As long as I take my meds. I am ok.

Once the kids leave - always used their room for something, or they will think it's theirs forever. lol.

Hope you are all enjoying the last days of summer.

Serenity

I redid my kid's rooms as soon as they left home!!!!!!!

Is anyone else allergic to FABRIC SOFTENER? My mom used Downy and I brought a bottle over here that she had left at home. I accidentally picked it up the other day and poured some in my wash (Downy and Snuggles are the same color bottle). When I went to fold the clothes, I started sneezine and my nose started running and my eyes started watering. It was awful. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me at first. Then I smelled the clothes and figured out I had used the Downy. I thought it would pass once I got used to it or brought the clothes up and put them away, etc. But everytime I get out a towel or something, there goes the eyes again and I start to sneeze!

I have had a headache for a week now!

Serenity...way to go on the weight loss...wish I had some of your willl power right now. I've been down lately and nervous! For one thing, I've been trying to use that hormone patch and it doesn't work! Now my hormones are all out of whack! I put on one of those things one morning and it came off in the shower that night. You're only supposed to have to change them twice a week. I've gone back to the pills. Hope that gets straightened out soon. Then, for another thing, I'm trying to get stuff ready for the big garage sale Saturday and still going through Mom's stuff (and mine). I keep running across little things that remind me of something. Today, I found a note my Dad wrote me back in the 70s. Traumatic stuff! I just sat down and cried...then I ate!

I'll get through this soon...I hope! If I don't, I think I'm going to lose what little I have left of my mind!!! I need to lose some of my fat instead...have PLENTY of that left!!!

Default Hi

Meme-I couldn't wear the patch-it made me bleed so I take the combo soon to be replaced by something new . It's good to cry. It's healing. Best of luck for your yard sale. It's fun to talk to people.
Cool day today but beautiful. I'm wheezing a little less. Going to lawyer today for wills and deeds. Necessary!!!I went to breakfast yesterday with former teachers and then to dinner with other former teachers. Nice to connect. Bye for now and hello everyone. Mima

I'm dealing on ebay again...I love doing that!!! I thought you all might be interested in seeing my stuff. If you have anything you'd like to get rid of, ebay is the place and it is soooo easy to use. You get a lot more on ebay than you do from a yard sale, too!

The first one already has 3 bids on it:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2050898911

This one only has one bid so far:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2050903963

This one doesn't have any bids. It may not sell...beer steins aren't doing to well right now.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2137432383

If you decide you want to try to sell something and need help, let me know. I've bought and sold several things on ebay. I love to watch stuff...wait until the last hour and then bid on it...if it hasn't gone too high! And I love watching my own merchandise, too. The fee for placing items for bid is really low. Especially if you don't sell. These three things were just .55 each. If they sell, I pay about $1.30 of the final bid to ebay.

Angry Hi Firopals

Mima - glad you had a good lunch and dinner with friends. That is always so nice. Did you go to the Dr. yet. Am interested in what he has to say about Premarin. I am going tomorow to see my DR. I am taking Black Cohosh and Evening Primrose. Also a cream called Feramone that I got from my Naurepath. Seems to be working not so bad. Still break out in the occassional hotflash, but they appear to be getting less (I hope). Do they EVER go away if you stay off the hormones, or is it something we have for the rest of our lives?

Meme - Just don't overdo it and make yourself sick. Garage or Yard sales are great fun. I love to have them and I love to go to them. I looked at your ebay things. On the second little dish, someone bid the asking price - can they bid higher if they want? Everything looks to be in such good condition. Lots of luck to you.

Bedrooms - when my daughter moved out and went to college, my son actually leaped into her room (it was upstairs and all the rest were on the main level). He had the wallpaper ripped off the walls before she got her stuff out. The first time she came home, she didn't know what to do and felt like a guest. I had to put her straight right smartly and told her she wasn't a guest, and she could help clean up the kitchen. Nothing like reality to put things in perspective She just moved back into her old room when she was home. I had made it into a guest room - actually both bedrooms that had been the kids were now guest rooms. When my son left, he cleaned out his room - took his bed, dresser etc. Not much left when he was through, and that room just sat empty. Now I had 3 empty bedrooms, an empty family room and a big house to look after, and such a bloody sore back that I couldn't do it - to remedy this, we sold our home of 20 years. Now I have two bedrooms - ours and a guest room. Got a double bed with a single bunk on the top and that takes care of my daughter and family. I have an airmattress as well, and that goes to my son. They all come home on long weekends, so I need it. What I need is two bedrooms and a den, then I could put a hideaway in the den.

Sorry Candice - the yappy, happycanuk is writing you a book again.

Anagram - hope things are going ok for you and that your hubby is feeling better. It is the worry of it all that would stress me out.

Serenity - Nice to see you. Hope you start to feel better. All kinds of stuff in the air at this time of the year. I am surrounded by farming communities and usually, not this year, when they are cutting their crops, I suffer. That is one good thing about a drought - possibly the only good thing.

Candice - clean out the bedroom and make it into something you can use and enjoy.

Ally - Hello. Hope you are doing ok. Boys back at school now I suspect.

Everyone have a good day.

Yes, Happy, those hot flashes will eventually go away if you're off hormones. I took the hormones for a few years for night sweats, etc. Then, because I have a family history of breast cancer, I opted out. It took a while till things levelled out but indeed they did.

I envy you your smaller place. We have been looking at some for ten years or so and kept putting it off (or impending surgery, recuperations put it off). Dh is feeling ok, golfed again today and walked 18 holes as usual. But they've changed his meds again and yesterday dropped a low potassium diet on him. This almost blows my mind because for years I've had to pump K into him and he was on potassium pills for a while. It is indeed the worry. I'm fairly sure they won't get to reverse things this time but I understand he can live a long time with kidney failure (so my sister the R.N. said). But if this diet is any indication, he's going to get real skinny (and he already weighs less than I, of course).
So we'll take it a day at a time.

I do use daughter's ex-room as a guest room and have a pull out couch in a bedroom for kiddies. So when they're all here I still have room but they fill up the house. In fact even when son and wife aren't here, daughter's family fills up house. I was able to have a real "Grandma's house" Thanksgiving dinner last year for granddaughter to remember (had not been able to for a while because of bad knee). Don't know if that will work out for 2 year old granddaughter.

As to son, I told you I'm a softie as far as he's concerned. Until he and his wife finally bought a house last year I entertained the thought he might change when he had his own home. His wife told me he told her he wants his room to stay the same because he had such a good time in it and he wanted it there for his kids to enjoy. However, he's married 11 years and I don't see any young'uns yet so he may have run out of time for that to happen (the room, that is not a baby).

well best get back to dinner. Don't want to burn it (AGAIN?).

Anne...they can take the bidding as high as they want to go. Go back and look at the little bowl again...it is $8.50 right now. I started the 4 jadite bowls out at $49.99 and they are up to $66 now.

I turned my son's old room into a play room for the 4 little kids. I put a bookcase with kids books, a large toy box and a futon with a bunk on top (sleeps 3) in there. That way, if all 4 of the kids want to spend the night at once, they can. The boys like to sleep at opposite ends of the top bunk and the girls sleep on the bottom. It lets down into a full size bed. It's really just a big cushion but it's pretty comfortable...I take naps on it with the kids a lot in the afternoon. We have a TV and VCR up high in one corner...it's a perfect place for them to play in when they are all here...and getting on my nerves!!! Hubby took my daughter's old room and bathroom and I have the Master BR and bath. Then we have a full basement to 'slop over' to when everybody is here for the day. Of course, my kids live so close I don't have to worry about them all coming for the night. Hubby's uncle left him some land when he died a few years back and I've been trying to talk him into building a new house...all on one floor. Would be nice not to have those stairs!

Almost done with the garage sale stuff...one more day (and night) should get it! Then I can get ready for my trip to NC. I can't wait for that. I can't decide whether to stay 5 nights or 6...I might just stay over until Wednesday!

Jenna's preschool class is celebrating Grandparent's Day tomorrow morning by going to the park...they have invited all their Grandparents. Jenna's (she's 3) other 3 grandparents have to work all day tomorrow and can't go so...I'm it! She gave me a big hug and a sloppy kiss tonight and said "Peeze" Meme! So...Guess I'll go 'play' tomorrow!!!

Thanks for the bedroom stories I plan on using it for storage since our basemnt is moldy and damp and I have no where to put things for storage..like Christmas stuff...It is a small room and the furniture is still there. (and I have tons of stuff I keep saving for grandkids but none yet....and I'm in no hurry)

Done with the antibiotic....now my eating can get back to normal!!!!!!!!!!

Still having the pain though..had a lumbar x-ray but everything normal he thinks. Which is a good thing.

My mamo came back with an assymetrical density in the left one so I have to have a recheck in 6 months...have you ever had that before? Anyone??????

Default Hi

Once I had to have an ultrasound after a mammo. I have a cyst so they watch it. Anne-I am getting a new prescr. that is alternative to prempro. We'll see how that goes. Still having wicked sinus and wheezing. Something is blooming. My son sells tons on ebay and so does my nephew. And you make more money than selling it outright. He also buys and knows the trick of waiting til last minute.

We booked our cruise down the Mississippi. We will be on it on Thanksgiving. It sounds so nice. What will the weather be in late Nov. Meme?
I solved the problem of the kids' rooms by selling my house-actually I couldn't afford to pay for it by myself. Bye for now. Mima
