Hello! Andrea, Bom Bom, Katerina and Quilt. I ride my treadmill while my children nap. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone with the period problems. I'm also, anemic and a lot of the times I am real low energy. Susan 148 lbs. sure sounds nice. Bom Bom 15 lbs. in 3 months is great. My goal is to drop 5 lbs. this month. Katerina 200 mg. is a lot to be on isn't it? Congrats. on the 60 lbs. I was wondering the same thing as you, if weight loss causes the thyroid to act up. I go in for my retest next week. Take care, Lisa

Lisa999 -- Your are right, 200 mg IS A LOT! I went and checked my bottle and my dose is 200 mCg instead. (Boy do I feel stupid!) Anyway, I think that this is still a big dose, but Much Much smaller than 200 mg!

S4ASSP -- I had only cut my calories to 1000 per day. I have done real well until now, but think that my metabolism is starting to slow. Now i am slowly uping my caloric intake to see where I need to be to still lose weight.

Thanks for the replys and support!

Smile Thyroid Diets

Hi Girls,

I have not posted on here before but I take200mg every morning of Thyroxine as well as other drugs for other problems. I was not aware that this was a high dose as have been on it for years. I live in UK and wish I could lose weight I just seem to lose the same few pounds over again never really going down. I have been told there is a special diet for people like me but as I am disabled I cannot excerise properly I have yet to find one that I can remain on without feeling sick or dizzy after just a short time. Have you any suggestions that I might try.
regards,
Vivienne

Hello to all! I am on a low carb diet and it works for me. I eat a lot of protein, fruits, veggies and diet yogurt. My goal is to take off 5 pounds a month.

A modified low carb has worked for me. I worked it out with a nutritionist at my doctor's office. I have 3 servings of starches a day, 8 of protein, veggies, 2 of fruit, 2 of dairy and 4 of fats. I limit soy consumption and raw brocolli, cauliflower and cabbage (all bad for thyroid). I feel so much better, I can't believe it and I have lost weight...slowly. I do exercise a moderate amount walking and biking mainly. I take .200 mcg of Levoxyl daily.

Hi Girls,

No one has ever told me that brassicas are bad for me I eat oceans of greens love them, is that why I still dont feel well most of the time. What else should I not eat? I keep trying to find out but nobody seems to know anything over here, we are so far behind you in UK.

Tizme (Viv.),Andrea and Susan Hello! Hope all is well for you. I've never been told what foods to stay away from. Thanks for sharing that info. That will help me out. I just hate that my weight comes off so slow. I'm 5'4" and now am at 188lbs. I would like to see 185 by the end of July. I have been lazy lately and not getting on my treadmill. Wishing all of you great health. Lisa

greetings again.
i've joined the gym at work. it was depressing yesterday; i looked in the mirror while working on the precor machine, and i swear i looked just like my mom. my arms. my stomach. it was disturbing. and oddly motivating. i just can't share it with my mom. heh.

i've also started lifting weights too. today was mainly arms. tomorrow will be legs. the added bonus is that the gym has ac.

what are you guys doing in the heat for exercise?

Good morning, all. I try to get up early (5 AM) so I can be out walking by 6 AM. If its too humid or hot, I have a stationary bike and I ride that or I do my walk aerobics VCR tape. I feel, and my doctor insists on it, better when I do a little everyday and 30 minutes is my max. Remember, it's important for us to keep moving...even if its only jumping around flailing your arms to music (which I have been known to do when I'm alone in the house and short on time).
