  • Hey There
Hello Everybody- It is in the 90's nearly every day now..It is hard doing much outside.. The 4th is almost here. The hubby is already saying he doesn't want to do anything..I might try to get him to go to fireworks but more than likely he will go to bed instead..He does a lot of sleeping these days..
Tammy- It is always hard to come home after a vacation. I read that some people get depressed after a while away from home.. Getting back to a routine is the hardest. It takes about 5 years for someone to get used to Florida. The blood has to thin out so that they can stand the heat.. I have lived here all my life and I still don't like the humidity and heat.. I have people who look at me like I am from another planet when I tell them I have been here forever and that my hubby was born here in Tarpon Springs.. There are few Floridians left in this area.
Mima- The prep is bad enough with out doing it twice.. My daughter had to do that.. She did the prep and showed up for the procedure and was told that she was given the wrong date. Yes, she had to do it again. She was not a happy camper.
Happy- Puppies may be good for motivation but hard on me.. She got away from me yesterday. She is very strong.. I will have to run her leach through my belt loop and hope she doesn't pull me down . She came very near getting run over. She thinks cars ,bikes, and people are there for her to chase..I will be so glad when she calms down..She is so quick she pulled the leach out of my hand before I knew it..Bad Girl..
Hello Meme- Where are you? I hope you are well...Joanne
  • Wow for your active puppy!!! I have scars from Frankie still. I sa him Sat-but he didn't see me because he is blind but he sure knows me!!!!!
Met Suzanne's friend-he has been in the army for 16 years. 4 years and he can get a pension and then do something else.
I have to take 2 more pills this morning. Last night, I had to take 2 of my stomache pills so I could go to bed. There must be a better way for people with ibs.
    Joined the church here yesterday.
Brad's sister was taken back to the hospital because she has pneumomia, She's not in good shape.
I'll be happy to see 4 o'clock today. Mima
  • It has been in the 70's today, and it is so nice. All the windows are open, and there is a nice breeze blowing. Saving $$ by not having the AC on. I like that.

Joanne, friends of mine from here retired to Florida a couple years ago. They live in Minneola. I think that's how it is spelled. We stopped to visit them last year when we went to Disney. They are enjoying life there, but I know she misses everyone up here. They are involved in their new church, they play golf, and she works at Disney part-time. I hope Christy calms down for you very soon! You don't need her being that active.

Mima, 20 years and then a pension! I thought 30 years and out was good!!

We all took a nap earlier this afternoon. That is rare for all of us to do that.

Tim had sorted clothes over the weekend, so we took what he couldn't wear anymore to a friend of mine. She has two boys, the oldest going into high school this year. She also has 3 daughters, and she does foster care. There were two new boys from this weekend - ages 1 and 3. She really has her hands full, but I know what an awesome job she does. 2 of her daughters were foster children for about 3 years. She and her hubby fought to adopt them because of the life they would lead if they went back with the mother. No father was known. The birth mother was into drugs and who knows what else. Anyway, the girls were adopted last summer, and they are thriving with their new family.
  • Love stories like taht.
Had the colonoscopy=the worst gas pains in my life afterwards. Had to stay for a while-the poor nurses went home late.
    Nothing new-lots of diverticulosis.
    Going to rest today-and eat.
    Mima
  • I have never had a colonosopy, and I don't think I want to have one!!! I don't like pain!! Resting today sounds like a good idea, Mima.
  • Hey There
Tammy- A colonoscopy is something we all must do.. I am surprised your Dr. has not had you do it... The discomfort is only for a short time.. I think the prep is worse than the procedure..
Unless we get a hurricane we won't see the 70's till next fall.
Not much news this way so I guess I will get busy and do the daily chores. The hubby wants help in the yard today.. I will be really tired tonight..
    Joanne
  • Joanne, my doctor has never mentioned one. In fact, Bob has never had one either. It was warmer here today, and Tim's allergies were bothering him because of all of the work in the fields around here. We turned on the AC.

We looked at vehicles today, and on Thursday we are trading my Chevy Venture van in on a Dodge Grand Caravan. It has the stow and go seats, so we won't have the hastle of taking out the back seats, finding a place to keep them, and then putting them back in. It was getting very hard for Bob to do it, and I have never been able to do it.

    Hope everyone is doing well!!
  • Love those caravans-Mike has an adapted one with a ramp for Alison. She told me her girlfriends were going to take her out, they will drive the caravan. Can't believe she is 17. I talked to her yesterday and she is taking online courses. And doing well. She is so motivated-like her parents and other first-borns. I also talked to Evan-he's a man of a few words on the phone but talks a lot while playing. Alison says he wakes her up by hittting her leg , which she can't feel, then attacks her . 14 years apart!!
Brad's sister is still in icu but has no fever. He went again yesterday because he had to go to Worcester.
My stomache is wicked sore-I spent yesterday on the couch. Started getting a temp and then it went away. Must have been all those prayers when Brad went to prayer meeting.
Church cookout today. It's fun to be around kids.
Hope you are not too sore today, Joanne. Anyone heard from Meme. Mima
  • Hey There
    HAPPY 4TH EVERYBODY
My calves and back are hurting.. It will go away. I do feel like I could sleep all day. That's out.. Every thing here would go to pot.. Christie waiting for me right now for her walk. It will be a short one..Too much traffic out there. Everyone going to the beach..
We have no plans for the day.. Things are quiet right now. We have a neighbor who shoots fireworks off half the night. Maybe he forgot to buy some ,if we are lucky..They have little concern for the block. I saw one of them drive his car across a lawn next to him so he could park his car in his yard. I would have called the cops if it had been mine. I saw his wife with her shears cut down a neighbors sun flower over the neighbors fence this week. I guess it was too high for her to spy on them..Her hubby tried to just open my door and walk in. I was quicker and latched it. He said 'I can't come in. I said No' and closed the inner door in his face..They have had one problem or another with the whole block.. I keep my doors locked at all times.
Tammy- It would be a good idea for you to mention to your Dr. about a colonoscopy.. That is how cancer is found..If you have no polops good..You may get by for 5 years without another test..
    Meme- WHERE ARE YOU? Joanne
  • Good afternoon.

Mima - I hope your tummy is feeling a whole lot better. Like Tammy, hubby and I have NEVER had a colonoscopy. We have done the Occult test however. If anything is found in that, then off for a colonoscopy. I guess I don't know too many people who had it done.

Tammy - My daughter has a Dodge Grande Caravan. It is too big for me. This is her second one. When she was in the hospital, I drove it and it was like driving a bus around I like my little sawed off Honda CRV. My daughter said she isn't getting another one, because of the cost of fuel.

Joanne - sorry you are hurting. try sit and rest. I get some e-mails from Meme but, boy, I don't think she has ever been missing this long.

The Echo Cardiogram, the Nuclear Heart test I had done in the Fall, and my ECG all came back normal. The good news is that there is NOTHING wrong with my heart, only the electrical wiring The Dr., changed my meds and is sending me for a sleep study and another Pulmonary Test.

It is hot here and going to get hotter. Tomorrow will be up in the 90's. That is way to hot for me. I will expire. We don't have air, just lots of fans going. That works, but it usually doesn't stay in the 90's for longer than a few days each year, but the weather, she is a changin!!

Hope everybody has a good afternoon.
  • Mima, that is great that Alison is able to go out with her friends. Funny about Evan. Prayers for Brad's sister. How was the church picnic?

Joanne, sleeping was a hit in our house yesterday. It started raining/storming in the morning, and it lasted till midafternoon. Kind of a lazy day. That is SO frustrating about your neighbor! Why on earth would someone do stuff like that? I just don't understand people. Maybe I'll mention the colonoscopy next time I'm at the doctor and see what he says. I think he is so caught up with my glucose level and cholesterol level, he isn't thinking of anything else.

Anne, I laughed about the van being like driving a bus! When I first got the van that we have, I felt like that after my Chevy Malibu, but I quickly got used to it. Tim learned to drive in this van.

We knew we wanted something that isn't low to the ground because I have trouble getting in and out on my bad days. We really liked the Chevy Equinox, but with the van we'll have more comfortable seating and more storage. Storage will be a good thing when we head south next January.
  • Brad is a dodge fan. I think you made a good choice-not sure how reliable chevy's are. Love those CRV's-my brother is on his second. And we love the Highlander-the mileage is not too bad. Brad's truck gets 14-costs 88 to fill it up but it's partly deductable for the business.
Some really serios problems going on. Brett's pressure was up so high , he could of had a stroke-he's 34 and seriously overweight. so is Angela. But they have bigger problems than that and we are sworn to secrecy because Brett doesn't know that we know. How insane is that. That's called dysfunction-all I can do is pray about it. And Brad's sister is not good-she has 2 bacterial infections in her insicions which are the kind that are hard to cure. I just keep praying.
Anne-so good about your tests. But when you don't feel good, you can't appreciate the good results. My stomache is still in pain but I didn't get a temp yesterday. Actually, my temp was as low as 97.0 which might mean my thyroid is low. I will keep taking it.
We had a nice time at the church cookout but we came home when it started to rain.
We need to go shopping. Mima
  • Good morning.

Tammy - When our CRV was getting fixed (also my second one) we rented a Chevy Equinox. It was pretty nice to drive. I also need a higher vehicle because somedays I just can't bend. I am 5'8", perhaps that is why I have trouble. There IS a ton of room in the Caravan, that is for sure. That's the reason my daughter bought her first one. Ashley was a baby and the thing would be full when they would come to visit

Mima - Still with the sore tummy. Hope it passes soon. Too bad about the health problems of Brett and Angela. That high BP is soooooo serious. My hubby went for his Driver's Medical and found his BP as 200/105. ECG right away, but the heart was ok. Other tests showed nothing wrong, so he takes a pill and he isn't happy about that, but hey, he is alive and that is what counts.

I forgot to wish you guys a Happy 4th of July. Hope you all had fun.

    Gotta run to work now.
  • Mima, most of the vehicles we've had have been Chevy's. In fact, Bob and Tim have Chevy's right now. We've always had good luck with them. Sorry to hear about Brett and Angela. We'll keep them in our prayers. Also Brad's sister. My "normal" temp is about 97.6 all the time. Tim's is too.

Anne, my doctor wanted me to do a sleep study several years ago, but I passed. That was before I was diagnosed with the fibro. Hey! I'm 5'8" also, so we definitely have something in common. Yikes about the hubby's BP! Glad things are ok for him. I don't like taking a pill for it either. Our 4th of July was pretty quiet here.

Later today I am going to a festival near here. Farm Power of the Past. Lots of old farm equipment, etc. The reason I'm going is because I'm meeting Melissa and we are hitting the flea market! Her parents are involved with Farm Power, so she'll be hanging out at their RV.
  • That sounds like fun! enjoy!
We had our pics taken for the curch-Brad looked good. I did not like mine. They will touch it up-oh vanity. They were trying to sell us stuff-remembered later that we were getting an 8x10 free. Glad we only bought wallets and I had a 25 $ cert for calling people.
Art this am and marriage group tonight-at someone else's house.
My stomache is a bit better-got the miralax and senna tea. I only bought a 7 day supply of miralax-
A temp under 97.5 is a syptom of low-thyroid. I took an extra pill yesterday. My temp was 97.
My gf is negotiating with her husband for lower support payments because d is going to college. They need prayers-money is first with him. Not God.
Too much stuff going on. It will all turn out whatever, It seems to come in bunches.
    Mima
