  • Oh Meme, Brad is JUST LIKE THAT_especially about tape measures. He never can find things, especially things under something or in back!!!Too funny.
When you give up things, you can do the things you do better. I'm thinking you love to sing!!!But you were spreading yourself very thin. My aunt was taliking about her daughter who does too much. I said that she will change when the pain is too great. People will change when the pain to stay the same becomes GREATER than the pain to change. Think about that one-I love that statement . Adjusting to the night shift is hard at first and then preparing the meal at noon. My grandparents always ate at noon when my grandfather retired-they would set the table for the next meal all the time. How's that for organization.
    Bye Mima
  • Wow, Meme!!!!!! Lots of prayer to see where God wants you=move over, I have an IQ of 129. I sure don't feel it-son has 136 and dil 131. I have to watch it because my pride gets in the way and I have a hard time with people that are not as smart. Not good.
One day I realized that I was abusing myself after I was abused as a child. I still do it. It feels too comfortable. It's going to feel strange for a while, especially when others are used to you doing it all.
Oh my sinuses-talk about abuse-cleaning someone else's house when I can't clean my own. Plus Brad is working hard to finish the apt. and it stirs up so much dust.
I am going to go live in a bubble.
Bobby is having his surgery tomorrow and we are going to pick him up. He's waited a year. He cannot drive for 6 weeks unless the doc says so. I told him he could clean his cupboards.
Supposed to walk with Auntie today. Bye for now-Mima
  • Good morning. I guess I am probably the "dummy" of the group, but that's ok, because I am perfectly happy

Meme - I am so happy that you are FINALLY seeing the light! Perhaps, now you will have a quality of life you deserve. Let everybody fend for themselves. I don't think feeling used is a very nice feeling to live with. I am one of the ones who had a great childhood, with wonderful parents. I do feel blessed. I also have a huge extended family and we often get together. My hubby would NEVER volunteer me for something without ASKING me first, and then he wouldn't pressure me into doing it!!!

Mima - I am with you in the bubble! My sinuses are driving me absoltuely crazy and I can't take anything with an antihistamine in it, because of the heart meds I take. I have been using Saline spray and Head-On for sinuses. It doesn't take the pain away, but it does take the edge off.

I have to work today - first time this week. I feel lazy. I have been battling fatigue the past few days and some days I just don't win.

Hope you all have a nice day. Hi Tammy, Joanne and Chris (where are you?)
  • Mima, that's amazing about your grandparents setting the table like that for the next meal. I like the idea of telling Bobby to clean his cupboards. When he is done with his, send him this way, would you???

Meme, I've had those pity parties too. I'm glad that you are giving up some things because YOU deserve to be happy girl!!! Keep us posted on how things work out.

Anne, you aren't the only "dummy" in the group, so we'll hang out together, ok? I hope you win the battle with fatigue. It's not fun at all.

We went to Muncie today to pick up Tim's refrigerator and some other things. The ref. won't fit in his car. His last 2 exams are tomorrow, and he'll be home sometime in the afternoon. He'll be off next week, we're taking off for Michigan for a few days, then he'll start summer classes on the 14th. I think I already said that in a message, but I'm not sure. We went to Olive Garden with him for lunch today. Yummy.
  • I was only teasing Meme, sorry. Meme's right. I never had much common sense til I got older even though I did well in school. Lke they say, common sense isn't very common. School was my escape from home!!
Busy day-have to follow Brad so he can drop off his truck-then he has to go for blood work. Then we will pick Bobby up from surgery-long trip to Worc and Spencer and back home. We need to get him his drugs too. Imagine this-he will get full pay the 6 weeks he is out of work.
Then we are going out to dinner for our 5 year anniversary-FIVE YEARS, Where did the time go.
Walked with Auntie-I know it was good for my breathing. Hired the girl across the street to do the dusting while we are at a seminar at church. Since we came back, there is so much dust because of the apt work going on.
Tammy, you must be so happy about Tim-talk about a year flying by!!!
    Hi Chris and Joanne. Mima
  • I just looked at the Neti Pot-My ears, nose and throat doc had me get an attachment to a dental poduct-can't think of the name-which did the same thing. I should see if I still have it. He believed in it and he was a specialist-who smoked by the way. Common sense?? Not!! But he was a good doc. Mima
  • Meme. I don't really consider myself to be a "dummy". I have a great memory and I have tons and tons of "common sense". My daughter has a very high IQ - in the top 5% of the population, so her highschool principal told her. She really is one smart kid and was blessed with a photographic memory.

I saw that Nei Pot on Operah when Dr. Oz was on. I was going to go look for one. What is the difference between that and the saline spray, do you think, other than sheer volume

Mima - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Gosh, those 5 years have gone by fast. Have a nice dinner.

Tammy - I'll bet Tim will be happy when his exams are finished. What is it that he is taking?

Pain, pain and more pain. I think it is easier to pick a spot on this old body that DOESN'T hurt than one that does. It is raining cats and dogs. I want nice dry weather so I can stop hurting. Going to the Dr. today to see what Ican get to help clear up these darn sinuses. I have a headache again today, and I have to work this morning.

Hope you all have a good day.
  • Meme, memorization is something that I have trouble with anymore. I have tried to memorize various scripture verses, but I just can't retain it. It gets so frustrating sometimes. I've never heard of a Neti pot.

Mima, that is great that Bobby will get full pay while he is off! Sounds like a factory near here that burned down a month ago. All of the employees will still be getting their paychecks while the rebuilding is done. Wonderful, but hard to believe in this day and age! This year has definitely gone fast! Yesterday was the first time that we were able to meet Doug, Tim's roommate. When we would be over there, Doug was either in class or had gone home. He seems like a very nice young man. I wish they were rooming together next year. Tim is staying where they were this year because of his job. Doug and the rest of the group that Tim hung out with are moving to the brand new dorm on campus. I know Tim is having 2nd thoughts about not going too, but the job really pays well for a part-time position. Next year he'll have more hours on his work schedule too, so more $$$$.

For as dingy as I am about some things, I do have more common sense than many people. Our administration at school for instance!!! lol

Tim just called. He is finished with his last exam and heading back to the dorm to load his car. He'll be home in less than 2 hours! I know we see him every couple of weekends, but it sure will be good to have him home.

His major is Criminal Justice. While we are in Michigan next week, he will be doing a ride-along with a police officer in the town where we are staying. He contacted them last week about it, and they were more than willing to give him a chance for it. Should be interesting. He has done several ride-alongs, and this will be the smallest department that he has worked with. He is getting to see quite a variety of styles of law enforcement. That will help him make his decision about what he wants to do in the future.

I know he is planning a couple more ride-alongs over the summer, and he also wants to spend time at the courthouse with probation officers.

Anne, I've been in alot of pain this week too, but I think it was because of being on the go all weekend with the Emmaus Walk. Not much sleep and constantly busy. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
  • Man it is raining cats and dogs here. Had to bring Sami in. She doesn't like storms. I'll have Jenna this weekend. The other 3 have been here for a weekend or longer but we haven't had her in several months so she's coming tonight and staying until Sunday. She's so excited because she gets to come alone. We are going shopping and out to eat tonight ... just the two of us. Daughter says she loves 'Ghost Whisper' ... I can't believe that, it's so scary sometimes ... but we'll try to get home by 7 so we can watch it together because I like that, too.

Mima ... no need to apologize. I've never had a problem with others like that, though ... never really felt I was smart. The ones I have a problem with are the incompetent, middle-aged, adults. You know the ones - the people who leave their baskets sitting out in the middle of the aisle at WalMart, the person who cuts you off on the road, the clerk who is rude to you at the checkout, the man who is condescending to women, the joker who thinks he's God's gift to women, the secretary who keeps you waiting just because she can or the person who has a little more who looks down their nose at the person who has a little less. I have a problem with THOSE people. I have all kinds of patience with old people and animals but 'those people' just wear me down.

Tammy ... my memory is not what it used to be. Sometimes I think I'm getting Alzheimer’s. But maybe it's just the fibro fog! Hope so! Have fun with Tim. Anne, Oprah is where I saw the Neti Pot. They said to use salt in it. Don’t know what the difference would be. I'm going to try it. Sure hope it works.
  • Meme - let me know how it works and where you got it, please.

I have a problem with those types of people as well. They are just idiots! My memory is still good, thank goodness. I learned a whole new job in the past few months and did it without problems. Geez, I did better than some of the 20 yr. olds

Tammy - I bet you are looking forward to having Tim home. My son "almost" got to come live with us for a month or better, but his number wasn't quite high enough on the union list, so he is still in the city. It would have been nice to have him around again. Another call, and he might get here yet!

It is raining here as well. Actually, it is SNOWING!!! although it is around 42 degrees out there. Big, wet, feathery snow flakes. No wonder I am in pain. I worked this morning, and every time the darn door opened it let in cold air. Well, we all know how we do when our muscles get cold!! Pain.

Hope you are all having a good day.

    Joanne, where are YOU???
  • Meme, you and Jenna will have a wonderful time together! It is so nice it will just be her for the visit.

And I definitely agree about those kind of people!!! They are everywhere!!!

SNOW??????? Tell it to go away!! (but not here)
  • WE MAY HAVE FIBRO ...

WE MAY BE IN A 'FOG' HALF THE TIME
(or a wee bit more) ...

WE MAY BE FROM THE 'OLDER' GENERATION
    (or at least 'middle') ...

BUT WE ARE STILL AWESOME WOMEN!
  • Good morning
Hi guys-had a great dinner last night-I am wheezing because I had a pecan roll minus the pecans and one and a half corn fritters. Yummy.
I just read in the paper that a boy in town died in Iraq-I know his mother-she worked with me at the church Fair, So sad.
Getting my house dusted while we go to church-yeah. I should set it up to do every week.
Bobby is good-But he was still numb from surgery so he walked up the stairs 2x-Wouldn't listen to me. Now he's home with his percadan. And his dog-who was happy to see me.
I agree about finding the spots with no pain!!!
    Bye for now-Mima
  • Hey There
Hey Everybody---Right here Happy.. My brother is here for a month. He lives in Az. He comes in a RV and parks in a near park. I have 2 sisters in town and one in Miami.. He gets to see us all once a year.. He just finished radiation for prostate cancer. We are hoping that it is all gone..They told him his chances are good. We all know that cancer is fickle.
Our daughter will be down next weekend. I always look forward to seeing her.
I have arthritis in my neck. Talk about pain. A headache that never goes away.
We are having a family picnic tomorrow. I wish all our family could be there. As it is there will be 36 only. Everybody brings something. I bought a large cake.. Something that I can't eat much of..
Meme- Good for you. Do what I did. Let all your kids take care of their own problems. As much as we love the G/Children there comes a time when it gets to be too much..It was to the point with me that I was going 200 miles to babysit.Since then our daughter has repayed us several times over and will help us when we need. I will never ask.. My son got so much help money wise that I just forgot about it.. In the past few years he has bought us some large items for the house and he did a lot of work here up until he remarried. It will never repay us back for all we gave but we just decided to forget it..He is doing better than he ever did before. His whole life has changed for the better since he remarried.. He is involved with the church and he is trying to lead a christian life..
    Yes we are awesome women..
Happy- You can send us some rain.. We need it..
Mima- I took a good look at my fans.. I have to clean them when I get done here..I have to climb a ladder to get to them.. Hope I don't break my neck.
    Have a Great Weekend....Joanne
  • Meme, I like what you sent!!

Mima, that's sad about the boy in Iraq. I know several of my former students are over there right now, and they are all in my prayers.

Joanne, enjoy the time with your brother!! And your daughter will be there too! So happy that your son is doing better and trying to lead a Christian life. What a blessing! I certainly hope you were careful doing those fans!!

Today was the Garden Club's plant and craft show. Many organization set up booths to sell things. I recently joined the Relay for Life Team in town (for the American Cancer Society). I worked the first shift this morning. We sold cookbooks with recipes that the elementary students brought in. The recipes look great, so maybe I'll be trying a few things. We also sold Buckeye necklaces because people around here are big Ohio State fans. I considered wearing a Michigan shirt (rivals), but I decided I didn't want anyone to hit me.

Bob and Tim were going to go to the races tonight, but they are rained out. Postponed until the 19th.
