A bunch from our church was together last night and some of them were talking about getting a group together to bowl. I'd probably have to wear several braces if I started that again! :p I have 3 wrist braces that do not have metal staves in them . They are made of stretchy nylon spandex stuff with a wrap around velcro cuff. I can't stand the hard, metal or plastic ones ... they hurt me more than they help. These have a thumb and index finger hole and will fit either hand. They're pretty comfortable ... I wash them in the sink with warm water and Dreft. I got them at CVS & they are made by Mueller if you want to try one.

I thought we were all going to go up in the Smokies and rent a cabin together. One with a hot tub, pool table and fireplace!

I finally decided on a name for baby puppy. What do you all think about Ginger? I get her tomorrow (Sat.) at 4. Can't wait!!! :D Have any of you ever watched I Dream of Jeannie with Barbara Eden? (You may not be as old as Me!) ;) There were several episodes when she had a little scraggly Genie dog on there that could be invisible and she hated uniforms. Every time she saw Dr. Bellows she would turn invisible and rip his clothes off of him. I don't know how many times I watched that but once I told hubby that if I ever got another little dog I was going to name it after Jeannie's little Genie dog. I'd forgotten all about that until I was searching the net for names the other night and saw the name Ginger and I thought Gin-Gin was Jeanie's dog's name ... how cute is that. Plus, that's about what color she is. And so, a name was born! :dizzy: (Actually TWO names were born!) :p Hubby has promised to have her little house made by the time we have to go get her tomorrow. I went and bought one of those little shoulder bags with the mesh sides to carry her in and I also got her the tinniest little pink collar with a little 'diamond' :D heart on it! I got some puppy pads for training. Can't decide whether to do that or try to take her out. What are you doing with your puppy Joanne? In or out? Of course, you live in FL and it's so cold here right now, and it's supposed to snow tonight, too. She'd get completely lost in very much snow! She doesn't even weigh 2 pounds yet. :p

So ... can y'all tell that I'm excited? :D

That's great, Meme. And a cute pic,
We went to our senior dinner. Food was good and they had a pianist. And then a retired pastor from Orlando to give a message. One thing he said that I lked was not so much to give things to your family but memories of trips etc. I like that. Even mission trips.
We can finally stay home tonight. We were out 3 nights in a row!!!!
It's cool here. Finally-we had been in the 80's for a long time.
Bye for now Mima

Meme, what kind of puppy are you getting? We have found we just aren't dog people. I can't even seem to potty train them. We will have to stick with our kitties (3 back female cats)

Meme, I forgot about the cabin!! We really would have a great time. I like the name Ginger! I do remember the show too. I do believe you are excited!! I would be too!!!

Mima, Bob and I talked the other day about all of the trips (big and small) that we have taken in our almost 26 years together. The memories are great, and we know the trips we've taken with Tim have created good memories for him also. When we were first married, we just took off one day. We drove about 3 hours, stopped and had a milkshake somewhere, and then drove home. Just talked and checked out the scenery. We still talk about that trip. Glad that you get to stay home tonight! You are too busy!

Chris, we are dog people because Bob and Tim are both allergic to cats. Not fun when they are around them. Bob is worse than Tim. We'll go to my brother's house, and even if Bob has taken medicine, we can only stay a short while because his eyes start swelling shut.

Hey There

Meme- Good name.. I take my puppy out... I don't want to let her think the house is the place to go.. We have had some accidents in the kitchun. I don't let her in the rest of the house unless she has just gone outside.. I have white carpet in living room.I bought a baby gate to keep her confined. She sleeps in crate at night and when we are gone.I spend a lot of time house training so far. I am trying to keep her to a schedule.:p It works some of the time.
Chris- Don't stress about bowling. You can go back to that when you heal.Cats are not my thing...
Mima- We watch the Gaithers now and then on Sat. night. They are on the country channel. Just before Grand ole Oprey..
Tammy- I used to get those injections all the time. They made me feel awful for a few days. Ran my B/p up. They don't give them so much anymore. They help pain sometimes, but, they also destroy tissue. One of the bad side effects.Check it out with your Dr. Sometimes therapy is best.Exercise is good. Painful at first but works best in the long run..
Got to get busy.Have a Great Weekend.. Joanne

Meme - congrats on getting the puppy today. I know you are excited. Cute name as well.

Joanne - You will get that puppy trained - perserverance is the thing :dizzy: It is a LOT of work. He should soon be well on his way, however. I don't remember it taking that long to get a puppy trained. It depends how smart they are, I guess.

Chris - I hope your arm is improving. Just let it rest. Everytime you use it, you inflame the tendons more. Did you get a cortisone shot? The bowling won't go anywhere. It will still be there next week, or the week after. I don't think you want surgery on it, that is for sure.

Tammy - enjoy Tim being home this weekend. Hmm, it's ALMOST February:carrot: My work hours are going to revert back to casual again. Can't say I am sad about it, although the extra money has been nice. I will still have plenty of work, I think. In March, I will go back to Mon, Wed and Fri for about a month and then just casual again. I like casual, because I can say when and IF I want to work.

Mima - the concert sounds like it was good. How are you feeling? I agree with the pastor, Mima. Money doesn't buy memories, it buys things. I think being with your family and friends is very, very important. I don't have any sisters, but I have 4 friends I have known since I was 6 yrs old. We all lived on the same street, and saw each other every single day. I was/am closer to them than my 2 brothers. Love 'em like sisters. I have the greatest childhood memories. I feel so sorry for people who carry the burden of a terrible childhood. It really does make us who we are today in lot's of cases.

We are on our way to Edmonton. Ashley seems to need a grandma and grandpa fix:carrot: She called last weekend to see if we were "coming over". She missed us because she hadn't seen us since just before New Years.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Mima 01-28-2007 06:11 AM

I haven't seen Evan and Alison in a week and I need a fix. Have fun Anne.
Went to watch a Blockbuster moie and it was only a 45 minute thing from ESPN. Reported it right away. It was supposed to be Cinderella Man with Russell Crowe,
Love the name Ginger-I am sure we will see another pic.
Chris-when I hurt something it takes a long time to heal. Hope you are ok soon but give it time.
tammy, I can tell you make a lot of good memories with your family. Hope you find a good church.
I heard from our missionary. This will be quite an experience. H ewill be eating breakfast here everyday but will be going out with some of the Sunday school people.
Good job with your puppy Joanne, I never had to train a dog because we got all of them when they were trained. I probably wouldn't have the patience. I am allergic to cats but not bad.
Mima
