Fibromyalgia #163
Happy New Year!
I hope the coming year will be a good one for everybody. I have had my gdaughter here with me this week, and she is 8 - need I say more! I wish I had 1/2 the energy of these little people. We did, however, have fun. I love having her come and visit. I hope you all have a nice evening. We are staying home. I overdid the carbs (not the good ones) last night, and I sure know now that a lot of the pain comes from sugar and starch. I hope I learned my lesson - unless I am a complete dunce, I sure should have:dizzy: |
Anne, Happy New Year to you and your family!! I'm sure you are enjoying the time with your granddaughter. We spent the afternoon with my husband's son, dil, and their 2 sons. We rarely see them, so it was nice. The dil and I have tried over the years to get things together to see them more often, but if my hubby and son aren't willing, there is nothing we can do. Todd's job has changed, so he won't be traveling as much, so hopefully that will help make us closer. I just love being around them. The boys are in 3rd and 5th grade, and they are so cute and funny.
We're at home tonight too. Tim's girlfriend will be here soon. Lots of goodies out to munch on, movies to watch, and games to play. Should be fun. I've already been thinking that I don't want to go back to school on Wed. Aren't I terrible?? Tim goes back to school a week from today. Dreading it. It has been so nice having him home, and our little trip to Michigan was so much fun. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! |
Happy new Year-hope it's good for everyone.
Thank for the thread Anne. I didn't know you had a stepson, tammy. How close do they live. Young families are soooo busy!!! Evan is sleeping in his playpen-he didn't go right to sleep but he was quiet. What a good boy-most of the time. First we went to Applebees-but Mike sent his dinner back-The brick chicken looked like it was boiled. he knows how to cook so he knows the difference!!!But my salmon was deliscious. But then they went to celebrate and I told Jill to sleep in -not to hurry to get Evan. As long as he's gone so I can take a nap. I remember when he used to scream when he was here 2 years ago. Waited 14 years for him!!!! Listen to this-Walmart marked their Christmas stuff down-I got 3 boxes of cards, 3 rolls of wrapping paper, 1 big box of lights and 2 smaller, and a lighted angel for $8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I wanted to decorate more next year!!!! Hope everyone had fun-we may go to the movies today. Mima |
Hey There
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY
It seems that most of us have eat too much! I know I have and now I have to get it off. A couple ponds would be the answer, before thursday.I think when Christies papers get here I am going to name her Christie Clean. She is a vacumn cleaner. If there is anything to be found that I missed she has found it.I am constantly digging things out of her mouth. One good thing. Due to the fact that I took her out later last night she had a clean bed this morning. The holidays are over and I have put away the Christmas stuff last week. It was easier than chasing the dog down to retrieve things. We had a little rain last night and may get more today. I don't always believe the weather man though. We stayed home as usual . Dick Clark was ok. A lot more improved from last year. I didn't think the entertainment was that good.. I guess the new age has chased away all the good people or they died. Showing my age. I can't understand half of their words. Maybe it is a good thing. Joanne |
Mima, I have a stepson who just turned 37. He and his family live less than an hour from here. I also have a stepdaughter who just turned 32. She lives with her mom and stepdad a little over an hour from here. We're not really close to either one. Strange circumstances in the past before Bob and I ever met and married. We haven't been to Applebees in ages. Everytime we have gone there, something ends up being wrong with one of our meals. You did great with your buys for next Christmas! Way to go!! I'm sure you enjoyed the time with Evan.
Joanne, I'm hoping when I go to weighin at WW on Thursday night, I'll be down a pound at least. Have to get back on the wagon I guess after all of the holiday goodies. So funny about Christie Clean!!! I like it!! All of our Christmas stuff is still up. Need to get started taking things down a little at a time. Sure makes the house look different when it's down. We watched some TV last night, and I wasn't impressed with any of the entertainment. Even Tim and Jess were talking about some of the groups not being very good. Today has been a very lazy day. I've been hurting pretty bad. Don't know if it's from the goodies last night, the rainy weather, or just a bad fibro day. I've taken 2 long naps though that have helped some. The Michigan game will be starting soon, so there will be hooping and hollering going on. I plan to put some music on and put my new headphones on so I don't have to listen to the guys enjoy the game. lol I have several new books to choose from, so I plan to start a new one later. |
Gotta get some Ted dekekr books-I see a movie is coming out-Three!!!
Watched PBS today-saw a great show about digestive problems -even fibro which she said is caused by inflammation . Anyhow-i have inflammation. HOPE-His for for fiber??? O is for Omega 3-P is probiotics E IS FOR DIGESTIVE enzymes. Now I will be consistent in taking them -Will let you know. I have to be consistent!!!I buy them and then I quit taking them but not this time. Gotta get hubby off the phone so we can walk. Tammy-i understand about not seeing stepchildren . Those things happen. But at least you can see stepson-his wife wasn't involved in that so she can be more open. Bye for now. MimA |
Mima, I didn't know about Three coming out as a movie!! Woo hoo!! I have some friends at school hooked on the books too. I read Heaven's Wager last week, and it was so good! Bob got me that for Christmas. He also got me Thunder of Heaven. Haven't started it yet. The store didn't have the 3rd one, so I'll have to get it some other time. did you get hubby off the phone to go for a walk??
I took a nice hot shower a while ago, and I feel so much better. I guess the naps, medicine, and shower make for a new person!! lol I started taking down some of the Christmas stuff. I bought a couple of plastic storage boxes at the Dollar General last week. My cardboard boxes have all seen much better days. Now I just have to convince someone to take these up to the attic after they are full. I want to go get another box to put all of Tim's ornaments in. He also has a small village that needs a home. |
I took down all my Christmas stuff today except my village. I also stripped down my beds and washed sheets and all my towels and jeans. Then I cooked marinated chicken breasts and rice for dinner. I'm pooped.
I've read all those Dekker books you mentioned. They're all awesome. Three was the first one I read. But Blink is my all time favorite. I'm reading Showdown now and daughter brought me the sequal to that Christmas day. My eyes have been so bad it's been hard to read for any length of time, though so it's been slow going. I have another app. with the eye dr. tomorrow morning. Dreading it because I know now that they are better he's going to put me back on more glaucoma drops. I bet that puppy is cute. You're just going to have to get your sister to put it's picture on here so we can see it. I'd like to have seen it dragging all your Christmas goodies around the house! :D Mima, they say Omega 3 is one of the best things you can take for arthritis and fish like tuna and salmon is one of the best things you can eat. I take a suppliment and try to include some fish or tuna in my diet, too. Speaking of diet, I'm starting back on the 6 egg whites & oatmeal ... white meat, rice & salad and slimfast thing for a few days. I really need to drop SEVERAL pounds. I usually just eat reasonably sensible and stay the same but somebody came in my room one night while I was sleeping a superglued some fat on my stomach and butt ... & now I have to deal with it! :p Oh ... for New Year's Eve we went to church at 6 and had an "In House Singing" ... meaning just us church people, no special group. Then we all took food so we stayed and ate. We left there about 8 and went over to another couple's house, about 18 of us, and played games and laughed our heads off for 4 hrs. until midnight. Then we had prayer together and came home. We had so much fun. We played guesstures ... it's like charades if you've never played and some of the things they did was so funny I nearly peed my pants I laughed so hard. (Of course I didn't act silly like that ...) |
Darn-lost my post-it's the laptop-if you hit the wrong button, it goes.
Meme-I know you didn't act up!!!!!!! Evan escaped while I was in the bathroom-he went to the lanai with Brad. He put all his tools back in the box and Brad let him play with some old train stuff. He was so happy. He also helped me put away the decorations. He reminds me so much of his father when he was that age-so smart. And he NEVER stops talking-just like his sister did.But you can bet I was tired. We might go to the movies today to see Pursuit of Happyness. Bye Mima Going to see if the Clubhouse libray has any Dekker books. |
Most of the Christmas stuff is down. Boxes are still in the room till we get them to the attic.
Meme, you had a busy day yesterday! Hope you were able to relax a little today. I have Showdown, but I haven't read it yet. Did you get good news at the eye doctor? That has to be so frustrating for you. I totally lost it when I read about someone sneaking in and supergluing fat to your stomach and butt!!!! Hilarious!!! BUT I do believe it happened!! Your New Year's Eve at church sounds nice, and I'm sure that you behaved. NOT!!!!!! Wow, we know you pretty well, don't we?? lol Mima, Evan sounds like a jewel. Glad you were able to spend time with him and he was able to spend time with you and Brad! I've never heard of that movie, but usually I don't pay attention. Back to school tomorrow. I can't remember what my Wed. schedule is, so I'll have to check first thing when I get there. My schedule is different everyday. |
That was how my schedule used to be-I would show up at the wrong room.
The movie was good-that's the one with Will Smith and his real son playing the part of a man and his son who were homeless and are now millionaires!!1 No Dekker books except Three. We got our walk in last night and it was a good one!!! Glad you had fun with Ashley-Anne. That's a great age. Evan kept telling me that his dad needed a screwdriver-I think Evan wanted a screwdriver. Art class today-church tonight-Dr Tony Evans and sign up for classes. House getting power washed tomorrow and lunch with a friend on Friday. Tammy-it's going to feel different a bit at work or maybe it already has. Mima |
Good morning.
Glad everybody seems to be doing ok.Meme, i hope they can give you something for those eyes. They are so painful when they hurt or itch. Mima - I would like to see that movie. Glad you got your walk in as well. So you think Evan wants a screwdriver? Those little ones are just so cute. Tammy - well this is the start of a new year for you - a year in which work comes to an end and not so far away at that! I bet you are looking forward to that. Do you have to work right until the end of February? Joanne - Are you enjoying that puppy? They are so cute, but also a lot of work. I remember how sharp those little teeth are as well. So the turkey didn't become dinner for somebody, and came back to visit you:carrot: Meme - busy as always. Sounds like your New Years Eve was fun. I KNOW you behaved yourself. No shannannigans on your part, that is for sure:D Chris - I hope you are doing better now that Christmas is over. Are your stepchildren gone? I sent all the left over cookies to work with hubby this morning. I am going to take down all the Christmas decorations and get my house back in order. I am also going to clean out the fridge. I really need to get this stuff OUT of the house. I hope everybody has a good day. |
Mima, I went to a 3rd grade room today at 2:00, but I only do that room on Mon. and Fri. Up until then I was doing fine. I like Will Smith, so maybe I need to check out that movie. That is so cute about Evan and the screwdriver.
Anne, my last day is Feb. 28. I could have had the last day on the 27th, but then that would have messed up our insurance coverage. I decided I could go for 1 more day. Good for you for sending the cookies away!! Anything we have left will be going back to school with Tim on Sunday to share with the guys. I'm sure they'll enjoy it. I think I was happier at school today just knowing that I have Jan. and Feb. left. One of the 5th grade teachers was almost in tears today. She wants to quit so bad, but she doesn't have enough years in. She's had a hard time the past few years with her health, her husband passed away, and her mother just passed away. She'll be 59 in March, but she didn't start teaching until her kids were in high school. I told her that she needs to make an appointment with STRS and find out exactly when she would be able to retire. It might help to put her mind at ease if she had a date in sight. Water aerobics tonight was so much fun. We have a couple new people, and they already think the rest of us are a bit crazy. |
Well now ... I can't imagine why they would think you were crazy!? :p
Hubby's been trying to talk me into applying for disability but I don't want to. In my mind I know I'm disabled ... I even have a handicap license plate ... but I guess I just don't want the label. Silly, huh? I told him they won't give it to me, anyway. I asked my rheumatologist about it and he said, who knows. He said, you do have rheumatoid arthritis and it is a dibilitating disease. You use your hands in your work and they are affected. But, they have their own doctors who will examine you so it will just be up to their diagnoses. Disability is really hard to get here. We have a friend who has had 6 back surgeries and can't do anything ... took him 3 yrs. to get it. I can retire in 3 1/2. Now I have glaucoma, too, and it makes it hard to see. I was teaching tonight and I found I was relying almost as much on memory as on my sight. Eye Dr. started me on yet a new eye drop yesterday. My eyes have cleared up enough to try another, he said. My pressure had increased from 10 in one eye and 11 in the other to 15 & 16 in 2 weeks. He said while that wasn't high enough to get really upset over it was high enough to confirm glaucoma. He dialated my eyes and shined a light so bright in them I thought he was going to sear my retina. I'm sensitive to light anyway. He had to hold my lids open with his fingers. At one point he had that stupid light almost against my eyeball! Talk about pain! I went in with a headache and came out with a migraine. I was sitting there with my head in my hands and he was talking about different drops. He said, This is a beta-blocker, I hesitate to put you on these, for one thing they cause depression and you already look depressed. I just looked up at him and said, Well ... it's no wonder I look depressed ... I've got a splitting headache! He just said, Oh, yeah, most people who have glaucoma complain of headache. I could have jumped out of that chair and strangled him right there! My app. was at 10:20 but I didn't get home until nearly 3. I stayed in town all that time ... couldn't see to drive home. I finally drove over to Wal Mart (just about a mile) and sat in the van for another 20 min. or so and then went inside (kept on my sunglasses) fiddled around and got a few groceries & stuff. Came out and sat some more. Finally made it home. Daughter and Hubby both fussed and said why didn't I call somebody. Too independent I guess. That Evan is a doll. Gotta love the little ones! I don't like typing on my laptop. It's a lot like me sometimes ... much too sensitive! :D I've got to clean my fridge out, too. Lot of leftovers in there, still. Project for tomorrow. Thank God there's always tomorrow. I've lost 2 lbs. this week so far. Been really careful and been guzzling the green tea. Tammy ... the end of Feb. will be here before you can say: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.;) Ummm ... you CAN say that can't you??? :dizzy: |
My mother was CRIPPLED with rheumo and they wouldn't give her the disability-that was a long time ago. But we all know people on disability that work at something. Life isn;t fair.
That poor co-teacher. I sympathize for her. you are right about telling her to find out.I found out I was working for 5$ a day. Bye!!!!! Sometimes you can buy back time .Like th retirement money I took from my first year, Hope your eyes feel better, meme. What an ordeal. We signed up for a course at church last night. We also heard Dr. Tony Evans-wow-and heard his son sing. What a voice even though he was too contemporary for us. Meme-I can say that and spell that!!! I used to brag to my students about doing that-bad teacher!!! Let's see-MLK day off and Feb vacation-hmmmm! Glad you sent those cookies away. Dr. Phil recommens you don't have anything bad in the house. I am going to split up my digestive enzymes. Something is giving me a littlee stomache ache. Wow-my painting is coming out good-love to use that little brush!!!!! Bye before I lose the post. Mima |
Good morning.
Tammy - that poor woman. It is funny how everything seems to pile up in a life, now and then. I hope she can find a way to retire and find some peace. Mima - Glad you are enjoying painting. I have NEVER been good at art or crafts. No patience for one thing lol. Meme - Well aren't you just having the time of your life! I hope the new drops help. You should have called for help, however. Driving when you can't see right is just plain dangerous, not only for yourself, but for others as well. NEXT TIME, call! Disability is really hard to get. I was on it for 2 years, when the insurance company deemed I was just fine to go back to work!! They had NEVER had one of their own Drs. SEE me, they just sent them info. from a pysiotherepist, and these Drs that work for them, said I was fine to go back to work. Didn't matter what MY specialist said. I did get a lawyer, but the only one getting any money was him. Finally, I just gave up. The stress of trying to get it is terrible. At the time, I had NO diagnosis of FM, but the OA in my lower back was considered the same as if I had lost an arm, and that is why I got it to begin with. It took me 8 years after that before I could even look at doing something casual and then it had to be the perfect balance. Still is that way. However, over the years, I have gotten better, thank God. Well, I had better go get ready for work. Hi Joanne and Chris. |
Hey There
I had no problem getting disability, neither did my hubby. He had to get a second opinion but all it took for me is my doctor to send in the paper work. maybe it is easier in Florida.
I am sure the puppy will be more enjoyable once she is house trained. Things are not so easy right now. She has only left a puddle on the floor 2 times and in the kitchen. That is easy to clean up. I just have to take her out every 2+ hours and we haven't licked the night time. She is in her cage at night and often wets there. Maybe she is too young yet. I heard where pugs are not easy to train. I will get a book today and see if there is a better way. The net just wants to sell me a book. I may just need to find the right site. Anyway, I hope I can resolve this soon. Tammy- The waiting for the date to retire must be difficult. Time always goes slowly when we have a date in sight. Meme- Eye problems are bad but a Dr. with no sence is worse.. I had one who wanted to put me on mood elevators when I had a ulcer.I took a few and was like a zombie. He got real upset when I told him what he could do with them.I won't take anything like them or any others. The side effects down the line is unknown untlll it is too late. Some doctors will give us things just to get us out of the office so they can go to the next 50-100 dollars. They are not happy when they get a nurse in there and she will look up every med. and decide if she wants to take it or not. That is what we all should do. Mima- There were some things in the fridg I should have thrown out. My hubby ate most of them.I will get rid of the rest today. It is going to be a muggy day again. Tops tonight. I hope I will at least be on target.. I have been watching. My scale is about 2 lbs under tops scale.. Happy-The turkey showed his face for just a few minutes and was gone It looks bigger. I can't imagine why anyone would want to eat a wild turkey. They are so tough. No fat there. Hello Chris...Candice ,where are you? Joanne |
Meme, I'm so sorry about the headache you had, and independent or not young lady, you should have called for someone to come to get you. Yes, I can say supercali......, but I might have trouble getting the letters in the right order!!
Mima, so glad you enjoy painting. There is not an artistic bone in my body. Anne, the disability issues are amazing. When they don't even see you themselves and make a decision that you are just fine, that's ridiculous. I have a friend in Arizona who finally is receiving disability. She has allergies and fibro, and it took several years for her to receive it. Joanne, hope the puppy gets trained soon. Cleaning up messes or going out every 2 hours can get to be a pain. That's funny how the turkey just shows up every now and then. Maybe he's checking you out!! Went to WW tonight and was up 1/2 pound. From the week before Christmas till now I am up 2 pounds on their scales. I guess that isn't too bad, but I wish I would have lost instead. The lady beside me tonight told me that she had fallen off the wagon a couple weeks before Christmas and the wagon rolled over her. She had a gain of 6.5 pounds. We both decided we really need to get back on the wagon for 2007. |
2 pounds isn't bad!!
I got a help e-mail from my son-his blind 10 year old lab mix bit his neighbor-2 times in 2 years-that dog has always been aggressive. He doesn't know what to do-he loves that dog but..................Auntie had a lot of dogs and one bit Suzanne in the face and had to be put down. At least the neighbor wasn't upset. Joanne, I never had to train a dog but it sounds difficult. the dog whisperer -on tv and in books -probably has some good advice. He even helped Oprah with one of her dogs. Lunch today with a friend. We got our tax notice and it went up 25%. $600. Our rent here went up 23--so that's 73 a month more-there goes our cola. But Cassidy used to cost $50 a month. So there's talk about moving downstairs again. But it's a we'll see. We could get $7oo for downstairs and 1200 for upstairs. It would be a lot of work to move downstairs. We have to keep the house for 5 more years because Brad wants to work. Isn't that interesting about disability. i couldn't get that because I didn't pay in -. whatever. Once you hit 62 or 65 you go on regular SS.Hey I know how to get my lost posts back. Bye for now-Mima Don't work too hard Anne. |
Tammy you are not along. I gained a couple of pounds as well. Mostly eating and not moving (not even really overeating, but eating the wrong stuff) I need to get motivated to start again and keep going.
Mima - Expenses just keep piling up. That is the name of the game, it seems. Soon it will be too expensive for average people to live. Houses are ridiculous prices and they keep being driven UP. An average 1000 sq ft home is over $300,000.00 Meme - hope you are feeling better today. Joanne - Well, the puppy gives you something to do, night and day:dizzy: Like you're looking for something to do! Here is a little thing I snagged from another site. Good morning Fibromyalgia, my name is Will, Will Power and I would like to introduce my friends Hope, Laughter, Smile and Prayer. We are the new sheriffs in town and we came to lay down some new law. We decided today we will wake you up instead. I see you sent Ache and Fibrofog already. Prayer and smile is ready to deal with them before they get started. Oh, I know that they ain't gonna go away right away and it looks like Ache wants to roll all day. That's okay cause Smile can hang with the best of them, and eventually Ache and his crazy friend Pain will just be a memory. You see Fibromyalgia, what you need to understand is that you attacked the wrong kind of person: A Diva. You saw her break down after that car wreck and you thought you would just take advantage. Little did you know, Divas bounce back, and they look good bouncing back, too. Yes I will admit, it took her awhile to give us a call, but she sounded the horn and here we are in full force, ready to kick your butt and don't take no prisoners. Let me further explain, remember when I went to that doctor, and you were laughing so hard you were rolling on the floor? You know the one doctor that really listened to me? Yeah, I went to a lot of them, but just remember my name ain't Will Power for nothing. Oh, did I forget to tell you that my middle name is Determined? While you were so busy laughing you didn't hear the most valuable piece of information he gave me: You can't kill me. When I finally let that sink in, you see, that is when my friends that I introduced you to earlier came in. That doctor had a friend named Hope also and another friend named Understanding. Both friends named Hope and Understanding worked with that doctor and I until we found the right combinations to replace the friends you took away. I know you have Good Sleep, but we put a remedy together that summons Mr. Sandman to appear on command. Energy is here to, but in the form of Pace, as in pace myself, and half of the time I get things done without you even kowing it. Thank you for Exhaustion, he is a good reminder of when I need to take time for me without guiilt. Exhaustion taught me how to say "no" to loved ones. At first Guiilt and Exhaustion used to hang out, however my buddy Prayer put Guilt out. Prayer, Laughter, and I (Will Determined Power) got rid of Low Self-esteem, Depression, and Anxiety. My Buddy Prozac stands guard at the door so they won't come back. So, let's see where were we? Oh, yeah friends and co-workers didn't understand and grew tired of me at first, however Hope gave them some education. Prayer filtered out the real friends and co-workers that stayed with me and removed the one that didn't. So now I have a support group that love me and look out for my well being. And my buddy Laughter, is the one that you got to watch out for. He has friends called Sarcasm, Jokes, and Harmless Pranks that keep us so busy, we don't have too much time to pay attention to you. Look Fibromyalgia, I know you are going to be here with us, and from what I hear it will be for the rest of our lives, but guess what? My team, Prayer, Smile, Laughter, Sarcasm, Jokes, and Harmless Pranks, are going to give you a run for your money. So bring it on Fibromyalgia, lets see it you can hang with the big dawgs. |

Darn-lost my post and I can't get it back. Hi Susie
My gf never showed up yesterday for us to go to lunch. Said she fell asleep-second time she did that. After I told her how much time I spent getting ready and she apologized profusely, I said we needed to do something different.I need to forgive her but I don't trust her. She does have lupus and rheumo but if she's going back to bed and doesn't feel good-just tell me BEFORE I get ready. Someone called from church and asked us to be in charge of a group of 8 people. That's what we do-have small groups in a large group of 90 in a huge church. Of course I said yes because I think we all need to share the load, So many people do so much!!!You call them if someone is sick and also bring food once in a while etc. Well, I will try it. Good thing I have a phone with no long distance charges. Just in case. Supposed to see my bro tomorrow but he has a cold and I said I didn't want it!!! Bye for now before I have to retpe. mima |
Thursday after my WW meeting I made a goal to start writing all my foods and points down again. I feel good that I've done it two days in a row!! lol
We met Bob's SIL for supper tonight. His brother passed away in l983, and Marge just moved back to the area. There were so many yummy sounding things on the menu. I went with baked white fish, baked potato, salad, and I splurged and had a slice of bread and butter. White fish is one of my favorites, and this was delicious. Tim had breaded white fish, and he said his was delicious too. I'm hoping to lose 8 pounds this month so I can hit 20 pounds off. Then I'll start the next 10 pounds. Mima, sorry about those taxes going up. I don't even want to think about taxes, but I know the time is drawing near. Also sorry about your gf not showing up for lunch. Let us know how your group thing at church works out. I told Bob that I'm going to have to check out some churches here in town. With Tim at school, I've been going alone, and I really don't like getting up earlier and driving 30 minutes. I like the church, but I liked it much better when I was 5-10 minutes from there. I might just have a chat with the preacher and tell him that I'm going to check out some closer churches. I think he'll be ok with it as long as I'm still going! I hope so anyway. I had always planned to become more involved with the church after retirement, but the drive isn't really making that feasable. Anne, the price for that size house sounds awful!! Our old house is about 1900 sq. feet, and we have it reduced to $145,000. A realtor showed it again today. The one couple still wants it, but they have to sell theirs first. I liked what you found about Fibro on another site. Welcome Susie! I like pasta too. Hope to hear more from you and get to know you better! |
Good morning. The good news is that Suzanne will start paying me back the money she owes me. That will pay those taxes this year and then I will only have to put away and extra 50 a month. I can do that.
Swam yesterday-then my back doesn't hurt for while but then when I walk it does. Tammy-I swim on my back and move my legs underwater vigorously and then pull them up and back-then I go in whirlpool for a few minutes. Digestive med gives me stomache pains -I will have to find something else. That's the one for yeast. Went to Mike's for dinner-he used the new potato ricer I gave him for the most awesome mashed potatoes-steak and carrots and one roll. No cookies- not trying to lose-just avoid wheat, Going to watch Patriots at one. It's on NBC-they don't usually show them here unless they are playing a FL team. Boy, wish you could come to church with us, Tammy. the place is alive. Bye for now-Mima |
Mima, glad Suzanne will be paying you back since that will help out with those taxes!! At water aerobics, I use a noodle and lay on my back and do the legs up and back. It always feels good. Most of the time we head to the whirlpool afterwards too.
Go Patriots!! Matt Light who plays for them is from close to here. His mom was Tim's music teacher in elementary school, and his cousin and Tim were friends when they were younger. I wish I could come to your church too! Maybe whenever we decide to head south in the winter (hopefully next year), I could come to visit! Right now we're still thinking Georgia. Tim left this morning to go back to school. He called when he got there. His roommate was already back. They get along great, and they are planning to room together next year. |
Good afternoon.
Mima - money usually has a way of coming along when you need it. I have always found that to be true for me. Tammy - so, you are on your own again. Glad Tim made it back safe and sound, and it is great that he and his roomate get on well. I have spent the weekend planning a trip to Denmark in May. We will leave on the 16 May and fly to Hamburg, Germany, then rent a car and drive into Denmark. My daughter, SIL and gdaughter are coming along, so all in all there will be 5 of us. We will come back on 06June. We have tons of family and friends to visit, as well as enjoy some time to ourselves. This place we rented is the start of both We are going to spend a week at the Fjord, in this place http://www.luksusferiehuse.dk/03_luksus_feriehus.htm Not finished planning yet, but it sure is a good start. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. |
Anne! Your trip sounds wonderful! We were talking over break about possibly going to Switzerland and Germany sometime in the next few years. don't know if it will come about though. I'll have to check out that link.

Wow-Anne -that is so great!!!I have lots of relatives in Sweden but don't know any of them. One cousin came to visit when I was young. My grandfather came to Worcester MA and his brother went to Minnesota.!
My brother and SIl did come down yesterday-some pictures he wanted to see were on my computere-then we went to Perkins for lunch-we had to wait but it gave us a chance to visit. Sil still doesn't feel well. My b is not happy -he thinks it's too hot. It's going to cool down. tonight. We walked again last night. Cheap med. My back always hurts but I am not going to give that up. Wonderful service yesterday-God gave us life and we have to give back our time, talent, and treasure. I want to tutor but the place is not easy to get to. Going to change the train tickets for Brett and Angela so they don't have to get off and on so much. Boston-Washington to Orlando. Then to Disney!! A Angela has never traveled so this will be a great experience for her. Brett said Keith was not sitting up by himself yet-he is 8 months and chubby. Doesn't like to lay on his stomache. I never had a chubby baby so I don't know. Wow-those Patriots. Especially the last few minutes-2 td's!!! Those excercises sound nice, Tammy. Bye for now Mima |
Hmmmmmm. I typed a post earlier today, and it isn't here. Wonder what I said????
Mima, we used to have a Perkins near us, but it went out of business quite a while ago. I used to love their salads that came in the bread bowls. I'm ready to go to Disney again. Water aerobics was nice tonight. Very relaxed since there were only 2 of us there other than the instructor. People were getting ready for the Ohio State football game I guess. |
I am sorry the Buckeyes lost but I bet there are a lot of people here who are happy!
We joined Blockbusters on line and watched Walk the Line last night. Now I send it back and they will send another one. I need more titles for my list. I also need black ink for my printer to print out e-coupons. Worked on paper work all day-got most of stuff done for business. Brad didn't make much money-we are limited because of SS but this year he can. He's 65. A friend's father died back home. We are planning a trip this summer to take the train to ND and then hook up with a tour to visit the National parks. We have a free train ride coming. Plus I bought 3 tickets for Angela and Brett and I have 3 airline tickets!!! MBNA Amtrak. No fee. We have gone to Montreal and New Orleans also. We put the equipment for the business on it. Gotta make an appt with the Urologist-didn't go last year and he wouldn't renew my script which i don't want to take but I always wonder if some of my stomache pain is due to the urethral diverticulum. Anyhow-he is so funny-he and his nurse are like a comedy team. Bye for now, Mima |
Hey There
The new puppy chewed up my yard shoes. The hubby wasn't watching her..
It seems all my time is taking her out and trying to keep command. She still pees in her crate at night.. More fun and laundry.. Get this... We are the kind of people that have no credit cards. Don't want them. No bills ,no house payments, pay everything in cash. So nothing in a credit report. The house insurance will not give us 10%-90% off insurance because of it. I find this hard to understand. They want us to get a credit card? All we would get is 45-90 dollars for that..Ofcourse we told them to keep the money. We still got off better than we expected. Most people are paying 2-3 times as much. A trip over seas,Wow.. I have often thought about doing that. My brother married a girl from Germany.. They go over often to visit her family. My hubby has cousins in Greek Islands. We will never go over. Cool today. Hello Everybody..Joanne |
Gosh Joanne, you are having "growing pains" with the puppy. They can be destructive. It isn't raising a puppy. I told my son to get a credit card a few years ago. He doesn't like them and he only uses it when he travels (he hates debt). However, it is necessary in this day and age, for a good credit rating. I have mine and I use them- LOTS!!, but always pay them off at the end of each month.
Tammy - The pool I like best for water areobics has been closed for over a year, but is due to open again next month. It has had a complete overhaul. I plan on going back, on Tues and Thurs. I always enjoyed them, but when I last went, my lower back wasn't cooperating. Maybe this time round, it will be better. Mima - Are you talking about North Dakota when you said ND??? I am not all that familiar with the state designators. We were in SDakota a few years ago, and went to the Black Hills. Beautiful. I wonder where Meme has gotten to. Come out, come out, wherever you are! Here is picture of my little gdaughter, Meela with her grandma http://photos.imageevent.com/happyca...%20Grandma.jpg |
Mima, I'm probably one of the few people in Ohio who could have cared less about the game last night.
Joanne, that is unreal about the insurance!! Your poor shoes!! Anne, I love the picture!!!! What a cutiepie!! Hope the back cooperates when you give the pool a try. It really has helped me most days that I've gone. I made a huge pot of chili for supper tonight. Bob asked how much company we were having since there are only the two of us home. lol I plan to freeze quite a bit, and I also plan to take it for lunches. It smells great. |

What an adorable puppy. And check out those blue eyes. I love it. Anne's baby is a doll, too. I love babies. Even wet, slobbery ones! ;) Now, is that grandmother Anne or her other grandmother?
Back pain is a bad companion ... so is headaches and I've been having some. It has been rainy and even snowing a little here so the arthritis/fibro pain has also been kicking up it's heels. We're supposed to have a couple of clear days and then about 5 days of more rain. Joy. Hope you are all feeling better. I've been chillin'! Just laying around doing nothin'. Yesterday I just sat down and cried I felt so bad. I told hubby when he came home tonight that today I didn't even feel like crying. Never fear, I will overcome ... someday! :p |
I think that after the holidays is a letdown and then we need to come back-it's tiring.
That dog is adorable-hope you get a handle on her?please read something form the Dog Whisperer-he is awesome-he;s on National Geographic and he has books out. Our friend;s father died-the one who owns the condo in Charlotte. ND is North Dakota-I don't even know all the places in Canada, Anne. What an absolutely adorable baby. Is that you? I thought you had dark hair. Brad is sneezing his head off-I made him take Nyquil.I hope we can still go to supper at church-we are meeting friends from back home. Meme-that boob joke was hilarious, I have been compulsively doing the taxes. I can't do much with them because it will take a while before the w-2's come in.Brad can only make 12,000 but he came nowhere close. so many deductions. Art today. Mima |
Good morning.
Meme - I sure hope you are feeling better soon. We get pain from so much, so when it's the weather it is just plain awful. Nothing you can do about it. Mima - I don't feel let down after the holidays. It is always a time of peace and quiet and renewal. Here, the days are short and USUALLY cold, so we kind of "hunker down" just after the New Year. We are having a blizzard today. The wind is blowing so hard, and if it isn't snowing, it is going to be. Hard to tell, because it is blowing the snow around. Also, the temps are going from 30F to -30F (-40F with the windchill or colder). So, all in all, not a NICE day here! Joanne - that puppy is NOT cute:o . I don't like bulldogs and he looks like one. I just think they are so NOT cute. However, he is a baby and that makes him a little bit cute, but the poor fellow has to grow up! Tammy - I also made Chili for supper last night. Seems we have enough for awhile. How in the world do you make just a little bit of Chili???? Chris - Where are you? I hope you are doing ok. You can come out of hiding now. Christmas is over and it is the start of a whole new year. Yes, that IS me. I let my hair go natural over a year ago. It's so much easier to look after. Hope you all have a good day. It's a work day for me. I think I am going to like this. I look forward to going to work on MONDAY, then on Monday, I look forward to staying home on TUESDAY. On TUESDAY I look forward to going back to work on WEDNESDAY and then I look forward to THURSDAY being OFF. I am LIKING this!! |
