Today I am just doing low carb more Dr. Eric Westman's woe. I think I'm going to quit reading all the other stuff. /the way I understand what he says is if you can work it into your calorie/carb count, you can eat it. So that is what I will work at doing. I think you can eat too much protein, but you need enough and that is different for each person. I will keep my protein around or below 90 g because I've always heard women could eat too much. Besides I'm not busy enough to need a lot of any food. I'm not going carb free but I will try to keep net carbs below 50 g.
Weight this morning was 154 lbs. While I would like to lose below 150, I will be happy if I can just stay below 155. FBG hangs around 100 to 105 and I would like for it to go lower, but I will be happy with this. Now that I'm not on chemo, my BP is being really low, but that will probably change next week or the 1st of August. I will work at getting back to eating 2MAD although I haven't been good at that so far. I am eating a small snack at night and I just may change that to a small raw veggie plate. I had my eggs, bacon and a sl of SLMG toast for breakfast. Main meal will be protein and veggies no fruit. I do like crackers with a salad so will work that into my carb count.
Carol Sue I hope your water stays on. Is it possible you could call the water department and ask how long the water is being worked on? If course the main problem we have here is getting to talk to a human being with everything being computerized.
They are building new houses all around us and also laying new pipes at the airport that is close to us and obviously the farmer close by has sold his land and someone plans to build houses there too because they are laying pipes there and making new streets. They haven't turned water off where we are, but we do lose power sometimes. DH finally got a battery power so I don't get stuck in my recliner if the power goes out. Any way, they put a message on my pc that tells me if they are closing off the road up by the airport.
Have a nice day everybody.

I am at. the food court in the. casino. I am reading The Overfed Head. I thought i read it. before but it doesnt sound familiar. I rhink my memory is failing.
This morning I took a shower and was scared to death they would shut off the water but they didnt. I'm going to try laundry tomorrow.
So far today i've eaten 30 more calories than i've burned in the 1160 range but i will burn more the rest of the day. As long as I dont eat more.
We called the water company the first day and all they told us was what time it would come back on that day. We didnt know it was an ongoing project. DH thinks they are laying sewer lines along a farm down the road.
-
Carol Sue I remember that book and think I have it. It so I might read it again. It amazed me how his roommate could take a carton of ice cream out and eat a few bites and put it back in the freezer. If I remember it right, he asked her why she did that and she said something like "That is all I wanted". I would love to be able to be like that again.
I ate more than I planned today although it was small amounts more like snacks. I have an appointment with my eye doctor tomorrow. I imagine it will just be a regular follow up as my eyes are doing very good.
Goodnight.
-
I didn't get to that part yet, and I dont even remember it!
DH won a $1400 jackpot, then he won a few hundred at another machine. So m glad it wasn't a wasted trip. Im tired from the long drive home and now there's 2 detours.
Going to bed!

Carol Sue What an accomplishment at the casino. I'm sure your DH will be ready to go again.
Weight seems to be bouncing between 154 & 155.4. It is a good time to get on some kind of plan, but I'm thinking of just doing IE/IF. The problem is that I really don't know what food to buy. My DS & BIL purchase pre-made meals from local store and she is on one of those shots like Oprah takes and eats little to nothing. I think if I had my way that I would go in and purchase tv dinners and eat those instead of cooking. I'm just at that place in my life because I really don't know what to cook and don't want to stand and cook.
Today we are going to get my follow up eye exam done and then DH will go to Sam's and although my eyes will be off because of dilation, I want to go into the local store. I want to switch to eating between 3 pm and 8 pm and switch breakfast foods to evening. I want to get some low carb tortillas to make myself taquitos for a snack around 7:30. I think for me I need to get back to a 4 to 5 hr eating window everyday. DH plans to get Chinese food today on the way home and I am fine with that.

Trish, sometimes DH likes to go to the casino on Friday also. When he wanted to go on Tuesday I told him to be sure because I didn't want to go and also go on Friday. He said "If we don't win we won't go on Friday but if we do win we will.". When he won I said " Guess I have to come back on Friday.". He said "Maybe we will go to the local casino.". So we will go but I'm not sure where.
We went to Texas Roadhouse today and when we were leaving my headache started. I wonder if its from eating ,. or something in particular I'm eating. I had diet coke, baked sweet potato with butter, and steamed broccoli, with a grilled pork chop. I haven't eaten any of that recently except the diet coke. It could just be from the weather. It was starting to storm just as we were leaving. Otherwise,I dont get headaches. Its just strange how I'm getting them now.
What injection is your DS using? I didn't know Oprah was using an injection. Online it says she is using weight loss medication but she wouldn't say what it is.
I don't cook very often anymore but its because DH doesn't want to eat the things I usually cook. If I ask him what he wants he either doesn't know or he wants to go out. If I mention that I'm making something he says he doesn't want it. We don't like the same foods but I have just gradually changed to his way of eating. It was easier than arguing with him. I really prefer to not eat dinner. I did that for years. I think your 3-8 schedule would be great for you since that is when you usually eat. For a long while I ate breakfast around 10-11 am and then a small early dinner. I went to bed early and always with an empty stomach. It was what worked for me. When I lived with my mother she always cooked a full hot dinner. She was a fantastic cook.
I never had a taquito. I don't really know what it is.
Will you wear dark glasses after your eye exam? I don't think you should go into a brightly lit store with dilated eyes.

Carol Sue I remember how I was when I used to gamble playing the lottery. It was so easy for me to keep playing as long as I was winning something no matter how small. I would have really been lost if I had ever one big amounts like y'all do, but one day I realized how much I was spending to win the little I won. I will say one thing though, like you, I allowed myself the amount I spent to play. I never let any bill or any need go just to play. It was a fun thing I did and I even paid a few bills playing it a few times. We also had more money then than we have now. I don't feel free to play the lottery any more.
Eye doc said my eyes have healed very nicely and he will see me in a year unless I need to see him before then. I will see him when DH goes for his appointment in October. My eyes are doing great. I am so glad this is done. I have one more thing to get done and that is to get my 2 cavities fixed on the 29th and I'm good. I feel like a new person.
We had Chinese food and I ate every bite of my half. I didn't eat anything until then. I did have my cup of collagen coffee this morning and nothing else. I was blessed that they did not have to dilate my eyes to check them so I was able to walk at the local store with no problem. I got a few veggies and got some cheese sticks because some time I just need a little something to take a pill. I really believe today I won't be eating anything else today.
Hope your headache lets up.

Made it... a 5 hr window 2MAD.

Trish,we used to win a lat a few years back, then the casino changed ownership and we rarely win now. DH says lots of people spend money going to a football game every week or baseball game and it's no different than playing slot machines. I guess I would like to go once in a while but not as often as he does. He says he doesn't drink or smoke so this is his hobby. He right, but I don't make him do anything he doesn't want to do. He also plays the PA lottery every day but hasn't won big for a long time. He wins small amounts often, he says if he stops playing his regular numbers they will hit. His children both inherited his love of gambling. His son is very lucky and wins often. His daughter won that pick up truck recently. I don't know how much money they spend on gambling. Their spouses do not gamble.
Im glad to hear how well your eyes are doing. I hope your dental work does well, too. Your dietary changes are doing well, too. How your life has changed in the past year!
I would still like to know what injection Oprah is using. I'm wondering if it is the same one my doctor wants me to use for diabetes. I've decided I will try it but stop if I get bad side effects. If my A1c goes back down I might just continue on with what I'm using.

Carol Sue My Daddy and my Mama's Daddy loved gambling. In fact, Daddy evidently was a great poker player and when he was in WW2, the guys got mad at Daddy because he sent all his winnings home to Mama and when he came home, they had the down payment for our first house. My Mama's Mama was rich and her Daddy gambled it all away and her brother swindled her out of the rest and she died poor. When Daddy became a preacher, he said he had to give up his gambling so he not only loved it but was good at it and played every week. I saw on a map there is a small casino somewhere that is not too far from us, but I got gambling in my blood from Daddy and Pa so I know better than to ever go. I might be more like Pa than Daddy, but it would be fun to play slot machines. I used to play them on my pc and win big and DH used to tell me he needed to take me to the casino when we lived in FL. LOL
Oprah never told which one of the shots she takes, but DS takes the one that starts with a M. Before that she took Ozempic, but it helped a while and then stopped. She takes it for weight loss not blood sugar.
I found my book the Overfed Head. It is a small book so will read it within a few days.
I have come a long way. I am so thrilled with how the Lord has blessed me. I am back to doing all my exercises. I got up this morning and decided to dress in street clothes and switch my house dresses for leisure evenings. I even fixed my face and hair because I need to decide how I want to wear it. Also I notice that when my eyebrows came back still extremely light as before but one is higher than the other, so I want to work on my new look so I can feel good in my own skin.
I had brunch and will have dinner and I also have a small snack planned just in case I need it so that I won't be eating outside my 8 hr window. The goal is to do IE/IF but with a plan so that I eliminate any guilt and I'm still eating low carb my way. I feel good today and I told DH that I am ready to start going out and walking around stores. I am feeling good about my life.

Trish, when I first met DH he played poker at the neighbors once Friday a month. He stopped that when we started dating. That was before the PA lottery and he played numbers with a book based on the stock exchange. His whole family gambled. He will never stop. I admit its fun when you win,not when you lose. I used to win a lot but when I stopped winning I stopped playing. I play a little bit sometimes. Under $50.
I think the med that starts with M is a GLP1 which is what my PCP wants me to take. They have serious possible side effects. But my doctor said they can protect the heart and that's another reason why he wants me to take it. It is a diabetes drug but is used off labor because it causes weight loss. After you lose weight, if you stop taking it you regain the weight. That probably differs from person to person. I don't think in going to take it. I wasn't to be thin, but if I stay this weight the rest of my life I'm ok. I don't like the risks involved.
I agree you are doing very well. Keep it up!!
-
-
Carol Sue The big thing about that medicine is that it is very, very expensive, but DS and DBIL decided it was worth it because she wasn't able to lose without it. I just pray she will be okay.
I had potty issues again. I think I have to back off on some of the carbs I'm eating and go back to more of a carnivore woe. The book I'm reading on carnivore says I should start on beef. There are other meats, but I don't think you can buy it like dear, antelope. It also says lamb and goat but I don't know how to be sure you get lamb and I got mutton once that I thought it was lamb and it stunk and I have no idea if goat can be bought in the grocery store not do I know how to cook either lamb or goat. So I will try to continue eating more meat and less carbs. Not sure I will eat the snack I have planned for tonight. It is 8 pm and I'm satisfied and don't need it.
-
Scale down 1 lb from last time I weighed. I think it was 1 week ago. I stopped the fluid pill and my feet look ok.
Trish,I too hope your sister is ok. I know they say not to read things on the internet but I always do it. My meds have some side effects but not life threatening. After what I've read about GLP1 & 2. I don't think I will take them, but thats just me. They are approved by the FDA.
My mother used to cook some lamb. She bought ground lamb and made lamb patties. And leg of lamb. Never goat or antelope. Step son gets a couple deer every year and they freeze it and eat it all year round. Grandson loves it. I've eaten it. Its ok. I remember liking leg of lamb. You could look online and see how to cook it if you want to try it. Sometimes they sell lamb chops too.
Yesterday I had slight potty issues that I think was from Arbys Roast Beef or the horseradish sauce I put on it.I still have it slightly today.
-
Carol Sue That is a good idea about looking on line how to cook lamb. I might like to try something different., but then not sure what Mr. Picky eater would or wouldn't try. I do like deer meat, but don't know anyone who lives near me who hunts any more. So that is out.
I'm reading the Carnivore book for beginners and I don't know how I missed a lot of this info unless I skipped around. It seems so foreign to me. Any way it does show how to start carnivore and follow a 30 to 32 day way of learning what you can and can't eat. It is an elimination diet plan. Like I say you start with beef, lamb, goat etc and work up to the other meats you can eat. Then I found 2 new Carnivore groups on FB for beginners and I learned a whole lot from one group that I was accepted on without having to wait to be accepted. They stress waiting to eat when you are hungry and eat what you want and eat as much as it takes to satisfy you. (Much like The Overfed Head book) So I took what I've learned so far from the carnivore book and FB group and went on MFP and made some changes.
I lowered my calories to 1400 for highest because sometimes I have a difficult time eating up to MFP required 1000 calories. Using the info and the fact I don't want to eat an enormous amount of protein even though they say we elder people need to eat the high end of recommended protein, I chose the lowest they say we need which is 0.6 per lb. They said fat needs to be a little higher than the protein and of course they wanted carbs at 20 g or less but in order to get the protein and fat where I can live with it, I chose 40 g carbs to balance everything out.
I've had one c of collagen coffee with only the sweetener that is Walmart brand of Coffee mate. I haven't been hungry and DH has started getting up at noon so sometime he wants to eat earlier so I won't eat until he is ready to eat. I am cooking chicken wings today. I will save beef and maybe cook a beef roast tomorrow. Saving my breakfast food for my evening meal. So I will hopefully have 2 meals, but according to FB group I might have to change and eat 3 meals in the beginning until my body adjusts. They say you need to learn to listen to your body as it will tell you what it wants and when. This way of eating is supposed to be healing and if it is, I've decided it is important for me to do it. My next goal is to get cancer free and get my body able to move more and preferably with or without a cane, but definitely without a walker.
Still have exercise I want to do today. I am thinking about doing these 3 or 4 days a week because I do a lot of exercises on the days I actually exercise.
Are y'all going to casino today? Hope you do well if you do.
Have a good day.
--------------------------------------------------------
Had a very good carnivore day today 2MAD and all my exercises done today. I plan to eventually do the 1 week healing plan with the beef etc, but for now just doing the plan with different kinds of meats. So far no potty issues. If I have no problems, I might not have to the healing plan.

We went to the local casino and I was the winner. I won $1200 and then I won $400 on another machine. We ate at the casino. I ordered wings that tasted good when I ate them but I think the sauce on them made me sick. I had potty issues the rest of the evening, then on the drive home I felt like I was going to throw up. When I get wings at Rodneys I get them with garlic butter. Just melted butter. These had a garlic sauce but it was a thick whitesauce. I think the wings were ok but the sauce did me in. My feet were puffy so I took a fluid pill half on the way home knowing I would be up peeing all night. We get money for food on our player card. The food there is very expensive. I don't know if I would eat there if we didn't get the free money. The food at the old casino is much cheaper, and we get a 20% discount by showing them our card. The other casino also has an expensive restaurant upstairs that has steak and seafood. It has a dress code, no jeans or athletic shoes,so we can't go there. We dress casual, as do most other peiple. There is a bowling alley downstairs and they have pizza and hot dogs. We never ate there either.
I did some exercise yesterday. We tried to adjust the seat on my new machine but can't find the perfect spot. Either too high or too low. I will work on it. It seems that the seat is too far away from the pedals and I'm stretching to far to push them. Once I find the right spot I will have to readjust it if someone else uses it, like DH or the steps. It only adjusts vertically,, up or down and it seems that it needs to go forward. I also did my vibration platform but only 5 minutes. Just a bit of exercise. I will add more as time goes on. I don't usually exercise on a Saturday and Sunday because there is nothing I want to watch on TV. I intend to use an exercise DVD on weekends once I get back to it full time.
So I got on the scale and was 179. Not really a big loss but my ring is loose and my feet are no longer puffy. There was probably a lot of sodium in that sauce.
Some of the weight loss doctors on Twitter stress to eat only when hungry and stop as soon as you no longer feel hungry. Sometimes I stop being hungry after just a few bites but I continue eating because I'm afraid I didn't eat enough and will get hungry again in an hour. Also,if we are eating out I dont want to waste the food I paid for. I never took food home before I met DH but I didn't eat out much either. DH rarely eats his whole meal but never brings food home unless it is meat for Rusty. He eats often, but very small amounts. The only thing he finishes is dessert, pie or cake. He has started asking me if I want some again but I reminded him not to.
I think all the exercise you do is helping your FBG. Thats one of the reasons I need to get back to exercising regularly.
DH wants to go to Wal-Mart so I will be back later.
-
Carol Sue Congratulations on the winnings. Sorry you got sick. Can you get the wings without the sauce next time? Wings are a good food without sauce. I don't eat a sauce with mine, but DH has a sugar free BBQ sauce as well as some other bottle sauce that he eats his with. Mine were good although I cooked them about 5 minutes too long. Prices have really gone up as I used to get 2 meals out of a frozen package of wings, but now the package is smaller with enough for 1 meal.
I am feeling absolutely wonderful right now. I got up early enough to take a shower and wash my hair and dress before I called my DD. I also was able to get a beef roast in the Dutch oven so we will have beef for dinner and I will have it for a snack if I want it or for another meal tomorrow. Supper will be eggs, bacon and cheese. Then I will probably be done for the day. I don't usually exercise on the weekend either but will do the vibration machine and HIIT leg exercises.
I told DH last night that I am seeing and reading so much about people who are healing health problems eating Carnivore that it would be crazy for me not to try it. I read on one of the groups where a woman who says she isn't an old woman who said she is finally being able to feel her floor with her feet from doing Carnivore. I can't remember how long she has been on Carnivore but not very long. I am hoping this will be my story as well. I feel hopeful. I plan to do the Elimination Carnivore Healing plan after my next infusion, but of course, I won't know when that will be until I see oncologist on the 25. I go for lab Monday and see him Thursday. I hope to start them again on are by August 1st.
Got to get my exercises done before DH gets up. Hope you have a great day,
