I slept for 8 hours last night, but the scale is stuck on "2 much!". LOL. I will work on it today.
We didn't try the red potatoes yet. He is only eating fries when we go out. I will buy the big red potatoes, not little ones. I feel bad for him. Fried potatoes are his go-to snack. I don't know why he feels ok with restaurant fries. I think its psychological. He read online that a man died from eating bad potatoes.
I'm supposed to make potato salad for Easter at step son's and I usually leave some at home for DH. I will have to discuss this with him. He doesn't like to go to their house for dinner. I cook things the way he wants them but they cook different and he doesn't like it. He doesn't like the way they cook the ham. I do, but he would never want me to cook it that way. Also, she makes fancy side dishes that he won't even try. So he hardly eats anything and I have to have things at home for him to eat. I don't know how women find these husbands who will eat whatever is set in front of them. So both of us would prefer to stay home but I don't want everyone coming here. I wish I had never started that.

Hi friends: didn't quite complete the fast I was planning, because I ate supper last night. I was tired and hungry and when DH popped his supper to heat in the microwave, I decided to finish the low carb mac and cheese I had made. I had that, an avocado and an apple. Two hours later, a bit of ketones in the urine so I did ok.
This am weight was still 163 so I did not gain. TMI, I was feeling rather constipated and that was before I emptied my bowels, so it may be better than I think too.
I am planning an eating day today and will be careful to be keto. I do not feel very inspired however. I need to use up some veggies in the fridge so was thinking crustless quiche, but I don't want more cheese, so maybe a frittata for brunch. And a salad for supper, and some charcuterie.
I slept ok last night, but still feeling tired. That seems to be the norm now, in fact, looking back, I complain of feeling tired all the time, even when I am sleeping well. So I guess I have a form of chronic fatigue. I spoke with a mental health caregiver from my benefits plan last evening about my issues with insomnia. Asking for some CBT therapy for insomnia. Looks like their CBT therapists are all specialized in therapy for depression and anxiety and not insomnia. I don't want to spent my health account dollars for this, since there are supposedly all these other supports through our benefits for mental health therapies. I have already spent a lot of my health account dollars on the physiotherapy, and its early in the year. (the money in the account doesn't carry over year to year, but renews at the new year) . So I did not find that helpful.
I was able to renew the prescription for trazodone, and it seems to be helping some, but not quite as well as I remember. Perhaps it will improve with time. That may get me to my doc appointment mid-April and I will speak with her about it and get organized on it. I feel if I sleep better, weight loss will improve too.
I hope everyone has a good weekend. A little cooler, but still spring-like weather here, and I feel blessed for that.

Mad, I had to Google charcuterie and googled the pronunciation, too. That's something I would like. I hope you are able to find the path to better sleep.
I have decided that my best plan was when DH was in the hospital and I was eating 2 meals in 5 hours. One was low carb and the, second was mixed. I have read that if your eating window is small enough you can have more carbs and that not only gave me a decent loss but also kept my blood sugar low. My main challenge will be moving breakfast closer to noon. Staying low carb is my biggest problem but with a 5 hour limit I shouldn't have to worry about that.
DH just informed me that he,was up til 4am with shoulder pain after eating the French fries at Rodneys yesterday. I wonder why the pain is only at night, or maybe its only when lying down. He's not 100% sure that its the potatoes but that seems to be when he gets the pain.

Mad I too had to look up what charcuterie was and a small dish like that would be perfect for me as my 2nd meal. When we were in OA yrs ago, one meal was protein and finger salad. This is pretty much like what we often served at family meetings etc called Finger Foods which are usually either meat, fruit or vegetable trays. We would get a a couple of trays of each and have a nice brunch at church meetings for us ladies once a month back in SC. I never though about doing a small one as a meal or snack for one but it could be done and I would love it especially trying to go lower carb etc. Thanks for sharing. I hope you can start getting more sleep and feeling better.
Carol Sue My weight was up a little today although I thought my eating was good yesterday. However, I didn't drink hardly any water so I'm sure that was the problem. Today won't be very good either since it will be more carby. I've got some breaded fish in the freezer that I will cook some of it today to get rid of it and then what is left over, I'm going to throw out since DH isn't really fond of it. I guess this will be my last carby day. I want to get back to lower almost keto starting tomorrow.
I woke up this morning with my right hip hurting but it didn't take long for me to walk it out. I"m not sure why. I've cut back on my Collagen so I may have to go back to taking it twice a day. It did seem to help curb my appetite too.
My nephew came by last night and he says he can move the deep freezer in his SUV so all I have to do is order the one I want and have it delivered and he will get the old one when I'm ready for him to. I looked on line and it has gone up $67 dollars. We will go Monday and order it. I want to pay it on my debit card and I will not give that number on line or phone.
I've decided that my hair is too red almost orange so I text my beautician this morning telling her I do want to come in Tuesday and correct it. I don't mind some red but this is too much.
I forgot to get any avocadoes yesterday but they are less expensive at Walmart and we have to go there Monday to get DH meds so I'll get them then. I want to make that my fat and potassium each day.
Looks like we are all tweaking our plans. Carol Sue You may be like me and have to have some carbs, but not too many. I want to eat less but will have to figure out how much.
Have a good weekend everyone.

I wanted to cook chicken tenderloins today but I forgot to defrost them. I don't like to defrost in the microwave. DH never has suggestions. He was looking at fast food but he won't get it unless we have coupons.
Trish, I can't get my macros to show % on MFP. Do you have Premium? Today I can enter food but can't get my first page to show up where it shows my days streak. I get an error message.

Carol Sue I don't like to microwave things in the microwave either. It is so easy to start cooking the food and I don't like it when that happens.
I think MFP may be having problems because one day this week it tracked some foods twice and I had to delete one. Then today I looked up a food and hit for it to be added to my list and it never would change the page then just went blank saying it couldn't acceess the infor. When I got back on there it had added it 2x although it said it hadn't.
No I'm not Premium. Just regular. At the bottom of the page where your food is tracked there is a pie with 3 colors for protein, fat and carbs. I didn't know until recently when I accidently clicked on it that it will show the percentage as you click on each color. I am not sure I've ever seen my weekly streak on there. I'll have to for it.

Hi my name is Carissa and in 2019 I wake up feeling dizzy and sick, I'm not the person who normally gets sick so being scared I decided to go to my Doctor. When I got there I Doctor took some blood test and one come back that I am diabetic, feeling so hurt and sad I come home and did all the research I could fine on how to reverse diabetes. I then did all learn to do and now am no longer diabetic.

Welcome Clarissa. That's good that your diabetes is in remission. Why don't you join in our discussions?

Trish, after I posted that MFP wasn't working I went back and it worked. When I start I see my profile. I click on "My Home" and it shows my days streak. I have logged in every day for 449 days but I don't log food every day. I saw the pie chart and clicked on it but I thought you were seeing % at the bottom of each column instead of grams.
Weight is still up. I told DH that I'm just like him. He keeps gambling thinking he's going to win and I keep getting on the scale thinking I'm going to lose weight! LOL He said he will win big some day and I said I will lose weight "someday.". I be been fasting 16 hours but eating too much in my eating window. I skipped breakfast today and I want to try to continue my fast until dinner today. I have a rump roast defrosted.

Clarissa Welcome to the group and congratulations on doing such a good job of getting your diabetes in remission. I have finally done the same thing and now working to keep it there. It can be done if we continue eating the way we did to get it there. Believe me I have experienced going in and out of remission for years and have learned the hard way that just because we get it in remission doesn't mean we can go back to our old ways of eating because it comes back if we do. Please join our group and share your experience with us.
Carol Sue My weight is back up this morning to 189.8 but then I knew it would be since I've been eating a lot of carby stuff. However last night I went ahead and had a low carb snack which probably didn't really mix with the high carb day I had eaten. I've always heard you should get right back OP at the next meal or snack so that is what I did. So I did. I knew the weight would be up but I also noticed that so many carbs raised my blood sugar up above 110. Still in save range but I don't like it above 110.
Those numbers at the bottom of the tracking are the grams of protein, carbs, fat, salt etc. But the colorful pie at the bottom are divided into percentages. I only learned that by accidently clicking on it one day. Not even sure if MFP has always had it.
I enjoyed my eggs bacon with enough shredded cheese for taste. I can do it that way and not eat the toast. I had it at 11:20 brunch and will have a 8 hr eating window today. I have a roast cooking for later and will have some of those little baby potato medley. I will cook enough for flavor in the meal. Funny how we get programed. I don't know about other people but in the south at least here in TX,, a beef roast has to have carrots and potatoes cooked with it. LOL It's like HB and fries. They just don't taste the same if you don't have them together.
Sometimes I like my new hair color and sometimes I don't. It looked orange like yesterday but then I had on an orange shirt. I have an appointment Tuesday morning to take out some of the red but I'm worried about so much processing since my hair really looks and feels healthy.
Hope everybody has a wonderful Sunday.

Just went to MFP and checked those reports along with charts etc you mentioned Carol Sue. As I looked at these I see that I got down to 183 about a month ago and then slowly started going back up. I have reset my percentages of protein, carbs and fat to fit low carb high fat diet plan although I probably won't eat that much fat as I noticed that my lower weigh in was when the fat wasn't so high. I have a perfect percentage tracked plan for today and will work to keep it this way for the whole week and see how it goes. It will be an interesting experiment to see how this plan works for me.

I am wondering if he still has his gallbladder. Referred pain with cholecystitis (gall bladder attack) is common into the back. A doc consult is helpful. Since its worse at night and with lying down, reflux is also possible. UP to medical science to come up with a plan. In the meantime, high fat meals are a no-no and pepcid complete may help the reflux, as does raising up the head of the bed with books or bricks under the feet of the head of the bed. (no pillows don't work)

I was 165 this am, yesterday was weird. I did not over eat, and kept to a "Keto" plan, but never spilled ketones in my urine, and as you see, weight went up. I am not really worried about it, I know it will go down. Just frustrated.
fasting today, and I have gotten through the supper hour. Did not sleep well last night though, but got enough gumption to do some useful things today. will head to bed in a while, and have my doc appointment on the 7th of April and will readdress the sleep issues.

Weight doesn't want to budge. I have decided I am on a dietcation (diet vacation) until April 1. Will re-adjust things then to show my gain and, of course, rededicate myself to this journey. I have been eating whatever I want, when I want for the last week or so. BS was normal this morning and BP has edged down. Hope everyone has a good week.

My weight is down 2.6 lbs but I think its dehydration. I am at 191.6 and I haven't seen 191 for awhile but it made me happy for today, at least.
I wrote a long post but it went into cyberland. Poof!
