Fatmad I am learning how to do WW on my laptop. I just don't do a lot of things on my phone. I wish they had WW books with some of the new info, of course, they may have but they didn't offer and I haven't asked. I may ask later. I just don't want to go to meetings. I hate weighing with them later in the day dressed and I get tired and bored with the meeting after a few of them. I do like the fact that I can go in on WW online and plan my meals when going out to eat. We are going to McAllister's Deli today and I've already tracked my planned meal. Not want I wanted originally, but a lot less pts. Same thing happened yesterday when I was meeting a friend at Bojangles when I decided to eat before I went and just had coffee when I got there. I am enjoying using WWSP and will probably keep my membership for a while, maybe until I get the weight off and bs in check.

FickleHearts My FBS was all over the place when I first started. I also get the higher morning readings, but they come down later in the day. I'm only taking Metformin and it doesn't really bring bs down like Glimeperide and others.

My FBS was 163 yesterday and today. I noticed that I had one day last week when it was 163. Scale moved down a lb and one more lb and my ticker will be correct. It is strange that everyone does so well with the low carb, but I do so much better with lowfat. So I will be staying with that to. I don't use a lot of FF foods however, I do use lowfat and some Light foods. I think one reason WW SP is good for me is that the new formula counts sugar, fat and protein encouraging more protein, but less sugar and fat.

Trish, I think the biggest problem I had with WW the last time I did it was figuring the points in my recipes. I had to figure the points of each ingredient. Mostly I ended up guessing. I guess I just don't understand points. I am the opposite of you, I didn't do well when I did it online but did much better when I attended the meetings.

I really wish we had a TOPS nearby. They are a lot cheaper than WW and they don't require you to follow any particular plan.

Carol Sue I haven't tried making a recipe yet, but I have made up some meal plans and saved them. Example, I eat oatmeal the same way each time I eat it except that I change the fruit in it. However, the fruit I use is always 0 pts. I now can just hit oatmeal breakfast and it automatically comes up with the correct #pts. However, I can change ingredients or ingredient sizes if I want.

I think there are a lot of other good things I can do with the site, but I've got to do more reading and learn how. I really think a recipe will be easier to track as well.

Any way, it is working great for me so I believe this is going to become my eating lifestyle.

Evening everyone
I'm not a fan of WW, but my reasoning is MFP tracks so much more for me. I can check my calories eaten, carbs, sodium and exercise as I go along during the day. I use the app on my phone and since I eat some meals over and over they are right there to add.
In my mind, WW, keeps saying it works, but then why do they keep changing their plan? ( I know it money I'm being sarcastic lol) just my 2 cents.

Yes, it is a pain to figure them out, but the tracker helps you do it. After you have put it all in, you can figure out how many servings you have made, (or maybe realize that the points are worth it, or you have to make the servings small to fit the points it) and that helps you learn to eat the right amount, and not over eat.
Also, something that helps a lot of people to lose weight, is to eat mostly similar things. I am having one of 4 things for breakfast every day now. so I save these as "meals" and don't have to worry about or think about points each time.

I am working on having similar lunches, and maybe a few suppers.
Some books also talk about re-learning about the purpose of food, to "fuel" our bodies. Not treating food as a reward or pleasure. I am not sure I want to go that far, but those of us who routinely overeat do have to learn to have a different relationship with food, one that works for us and not against us.

I am finding this really hard to do, all day, every day. I will probably be griping and whining about it a lot.

Sorry in advance.

My body is loving the WW SP plan. My FBS was 151 this morning. I just noticed that my ticker was accurate yesterday. However, I am actually .2 lb lower. So .2 lb more and I will be below it. So I should have a weight loss next Monday which is my WI day. Slow and steady. WW says I should exercise 22 minutes a day so I'm doing 25 minutes 6 days a week on the bike. Gives me approximately the same amount of weekly exercise. I'm not using my exercise pts for food.

DH is taking me to Texas Roadhouse for our anniversary tonight. I've already planned the meal. I am only spending 11 SP for the meal. I'm ordering a 3 or 4 oz steak, steamed veggies and the salad dressing on the side so I won't get a lot of it and we won't get the bread. Steak houses are always easy for dieting.

Fatmad I have 2 or 3 breakfasts that I eat the same with small changes. I love the fact that I can create the meals and save so that all I have to do is choose the meal and the pts are there. I did do a couple of recipes like that too. I like the fact that it keeps up with my foods that I use regularly too so I'm not having to search as much. DH and I pretty much eat the same meals each week so I plan to take some of our regular meals and create them too so it will become easier to track. I think I am going to love the new site when I get used to it.

I also love the help chat as well. I talk to a helper last night because I wanted to see if they have books with the SmartPoints like they have always had before for PP. I ordered them and I also noticed they have a little SP calculator as well so I ordered them. I also asked how I can know if the frozen dinners pts or PP or SP. She didn't know the answer to that one, because she said they will be putting the SP dinners out as the old PP sell out. I don't eat a lot of frozen but DH doesn't like lasagna and I do, so those meal WW makes that he doesn't like, I buy for me to have without cooking them.

Have a great day everybody.

I got to my lowest weight ever on WW's. Sounds like the new plan is shifting to more low carb than low fat? That seems interesting. I'm glad it's working out well for you pattygirl63. :) Enjoy your steak and happy anniverary!

I did the control test on both monitors and both came out okay. It's got to be the dawn effect. It's the only logical thing I can think of. I go back to the doctor on Wed and I'll discuss it with him then. I'm also going to ask to see if he can recommend an endo.

My weight loss has stopped completely, but it did this last time I got on keto. I stall out for about 2 weeks. Annoying, but nothing I can't deal with. I need to start walking again, I think that would help my readings and the scale, but I'm really depressed lately and getting the motivation up is hard. It's not really the diagnosis, just personal stuff in general. I'm hoping it'll clear up soon.

Wannabehealthy 01-27-2016 12:49 PM

Trish, I didn't know TX Roadhouse had a steak that small. DH gets the 6 oz and I thought that was the smallest. He is not a big eater. I usually get the roasted chicken as I am not a big steak fan.

I think it's nice that you can use the WW frozen meals because that would help when you and DH don't want the same thing. That is a problem we sometimes have here. We are supposed to go to Tx Roadhouse this week because we have a coupon that expires the end of the month. The cable guy is coming today, so if he is gone early enough we will go today, if not, tomorrow. I usually get a salad and fresh vegetables instead of a potato. They always put the dressing on the side. I think it's unusual that they put eggs in their salad because so many people are allergic to eggs. This sounds like it's really working for you, Trish.

FickleHearts The first time I went to WW years ago I lost weight, but couldn't afford to keep paying to go then moved where they didn't have meetings and of course we didn't have computers then. Strange thing is that I have never gained enough to weigh what I weighed the first time I went. I've gained and lost up to where I was when I quit, but have never gained those lbs back. But when I've tried WW after that I just couldn't seem to lose except one time my late DH aunt attended meetings and she made copies of the diet for me and I enjoyed it then because they use the exchange plan and I learned how to use it to cook for my whole family. All the other plans just didn't work for me. I am thankful this one does.

Glad you monitors are working okay.

Carol Sue I don't know if they have a 3 or 4 oz steak or not, but I figure I can either go ahead and use the SP which I can spend or I will cut it in half and bring the other half home for DG to take for lunch tomorrow. I won't use but enough of dressing for 1 or 2 pts and by eating the salad and steamed veggies I don't have to count as they are 0 pts.

Wannabehealthy 01-28-2016 11:12 AM

Trish, DH gets the 6 oz steak and doesn't finish it, but we bring it home for the dog. DH is a small eater until it comes to snacks and sweets. I usually get the saland and steamed veggies too, but I splurged yesterday because it was planned, and it was my belated birthday treat. I enjoyed it and am back on plan today. I even had a beer, which is very unusual for me. LOL I brought half of my meal home, but I'm not really hungry for it. The dog might get that, too.

I would like to do the old exchange plan from WW. I just don't like figuring out the points. It's just me. I know thousands of other people do it just fine. When I did it last time I figured out the points for some foods and then just ate those foods over and over.

pattygirl63 01-28-2016 02:26 PM

We enjoyed our dinner at TX roadhouse. I ate the 6 oz steak and DH and I halved a dinner roll. With all my exercise, I earned 12 pts yesterday, but I still didn't use them. I still have 25 weekly pts left after eating a little more yesterday than usual.

I remember them telling me last time I did WW that I not only needed to eat all my daily pts, but I needed to eat the weekly as well. I just might try that. However, I'm not sure I will ever eat all my weekly pts. One nice thing about doing this is I am eating a lot of veggies as well as the fruit I like. I love grapefruit and now I can eat it again.

I have a new low this morning. :carrot: Down another 1.4 lbs and WI isn't until Monday. FBS was a little high, but probably because I took a benedryl last night to help me sleep.

Have a nice day.

FickleHearts 01-28-2016 03:26 PM

I used to bank my weekly points and activity pts for the weekend so I could have a "cheat" day. Cheat mainly consisted of a DQ blizzard or maybe a burger and fries. Wasn't really cheating, but felt like it LOL.

Grats on the WL!

Mother nature came to visit me today, so that scale definitely won't be moving for a while. Oh well. :D I feel lighter. Does that count? LOL!

Wannabehealthy 01-28-2016 03:33 PM

I finally got back to exercising today and I feel so good! I hope I stick with it. I don't usually do formal exercise on weekends because I'm out and about and consider that my exercise.

Ficklehearts
, that weight gain is temporary and beyond your control. It will go away again. I wouldn't worry about having the cheat day. This one woman on another thread does a diet that has a cheat day every week and she has really lost a lot of weight. It's all in how you work your plan.

Trish, WTG on the good weight loss!! You are working this!!!

p.a. 01-28-2016 10:12 PM

I used to try 'cheat meals' but they always turned into more then a day...lol
Now if I really want something like chips ( my weakness) I'll buy a big bag when I have company, put them all in a bowl and share. It's the only way I can do it. I'd eat chips before anything....

fatmad 01-28-2016 10:35 PM

I believe that ww says you "must" eat all your daily points, but the weekly ones are optional, like eating back fit points. I found that eating all my weekly points didn't get me weight loss, but I used some for flexibility, so I didn't stress about going 1-2 points over on a day. When I had 26 on the old plan, I usually found I ate 30 points worth most days, to avoid feeling hungry or deprived. That was just my need.
This time with the 30 SP, I am only going over a point or two most days.
I also got back on the treadmill in the morning the last 2 days. SO skipped Monday and Tuesday exercise after an all nighter Sunday into Monday. Takes a bit to talk myself into it.
I went out with a friend tonight and we visited and played a game of "upwards" which was fun. We both had a small treat at the cafe where we played, and managed not to pig out. very happy with being able to socialize without over-eating. Also did well at the lunch potluck at work.
Keep up the good work everyone.
