I'm back to relative BGL normals this morning. I was at a dinner meeting last night - a bit carby with potato and squash soup and homemade bread but was careful. I excused myself early and avoided the temptation of a Food Porn Dessert! We're starting into the winter holiday food fest so I need tight control.

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-06-2009 02:53 PM

 LADIES ~ We have gorgeous :sunny: out there right now and we are lovin' it ... it has been so scarce up here lately. We spent the morning rearranging furniture and it is all finished; now everything is in place for Christmas. Thanks for all your good thoughts; my mouth is on the mend and feeling better today; it was a bit sore up until yesterday and had to remember not to scratch or rub my cheek ... youch!

MONI ~ :congrat: on getting the job; good for you!!! That is great timing; just before the Christmas holidays too! Yes, when I get my TOM, I feel ravenous all the time and want to eat the fridge ...

ROSETTA ~ so glad for you about the good news; benign is great news!!! Some people's bodies will produce more insulin if they don't eat enuff -- my sister's body does that to her; when she eats more regularly, her sugars go down, whereas my brother has the opposite; food makes his go up.

RUTH ~ WOW, that is a big dip; I would be about ready to pass out -- no, I would have passed out! I have a particularly bad TOM going on and even though I am eating, I feel like I'm starving. If I just go down to the mid 4's (4.5-4.7), I start to feel sickly in my tummy.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ... Rosebud:hug:

Ruthxxx 11-08-2009 01:06 PM

Gorgeous day out there with a temperature in the 50s. I am going to eat lunch on the deck and then get some yardwork done. It's Indian Summer - or is it now called something else to be PC?

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-08-2009 08:45 PM

RUTH ~ some people call this a fall-spring day, but a native man we know called it Indian Summer himself when we ran into him recently, so I don't think they mind at all.

We had the nicest day today too ... full :sunny: for the entire day. We expected it, so I got up early just to watch the sun rise. This afternoon, we went for a drive out to our lot to check on things (our camper etc) and to bring a few things home -- just to close things up for the year and it was simply glorious weather all day long. We also went for a walk while we were out there, and chatted with one of the neighbours for awhile too. A perfect ending to a beautiful Sunday!

Hope you all have a MARVELLOUS MONDAY tomorrow ... Rosebud

Ruthxxx 11-09-2009 03:40 PM

Another warm November day but I was stuck indoors - except for a few minutes at the cemetery. I had to go to a funeral which was unfortunate but did resist the lunch afterwards. Those things are deadly - no pun intended! ;)
I came home for a healthy lunch and have spent the afternoon making a healthy lasagna for my two dinner guests. Two friends are coming over to move furniture for me - you can't go wrong with feeding guys, especially when there's pear pie for dessert - just a pear for me.

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-09-2009 04:46 PM

RUTH ~ I've never tried or even heard of pear pie before -- how is that made? I mostly make pumpkin pie for my DH (pumpkin custard for me), or maybe an apple or rhubarb crisp on occasion, just for something different. Otherwise, I have something like baked apples with cinnamon, or sugar-free pudding, etc.

Woke up to :rain: this AM, but it stopped by this afternoon, so we went up town to pick up a few things; they had some bargains on veggies, fruit, and meat today -- fall is a great time to pick up good deals! It was fairly busy up town for a Monday: must have been all the sales. ;)

So I got a bit of walking in today as well! Kudos for that and made a nice pot of veggie soup for dinner from leftovers again ... yum! Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday tomorrow ... Rosebud

Ruthxxx 11-10-2009 06:43 AM

Oh dear! Had an encounter with some Score ice cream last night and BGL is a tad high this morning. Remind me never to buy that kind of ice cream again. I left the balance of the container in the sink and it melted nicely overnight.

Rosebud, pear pie is a bit like apple pie and is usually made with a crumb topping - sort of like apple crisp in a pie shell.

It's not a gym day but I am going to try for at least a half hour on my treadmill to make up for my "sins" last night. It'll also be a big veggie day!

sapphire9 11-10-2009 03:01 PM

Hi, all. Our weather is still sunny, but there's an autumn chill in the air. I had a 98 bgl yesterday even though I had sphagetti for dinner. Last night I ate healthier and ended up with a bgl of 155. Go figure.
Ruth - that pear pie sure sounds good. I guess if you can make a pear tart, you can make a pear pie. You were smart about the ice cream. I should have done that Friday night, but I ate the whole pint! If I scoop it out and put it in a dish, I can make the pint last for at least 3 days, but if I eat it right out of the carton, I'm a goner. Won't do that again for awhile.
Rosebud: Keep doing the good things you are doing.

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-10-2009 04:36 PM

RUTH ~ sounds like your dinner for your guests was a success except you didn't mention buying a high-fat and high-sugar ice cream to go with that pear pie! Sorry you had to ditch it, but it was for the best ... I would have just bought a small vanilla bean or lf yogurt ice cream -- something that I wouldn't be tempted to over-indulge in. That's my strategy now: I avoid buying the ones full of chocolate chunks and gooey caramels and stick to ones I won't splurge on. Once a year we might buy a deluxe Maple Walnut but I use these cute little sundae dishes that only hold 1/2 cup servings or a square cone in the summer ...

ROSETTA ~ I read somewhere that whole grain pasta is good to eat (in measured amounts; I have 1 cup cooked) as it keeps your blood sugar levels more even over the evening. I also find that when I eat a balanced dinner like pasta, I don't feel as hungry later on. We're all different: some can eat pasta and it helps them, while others must avoid it ... I can eat this (in moderation) and my sugars will stay balanced. I can also have a small new potato (with the skins on) and I am OK too; again, I think it is becuz I am careful about the amount ...

We had another day of gorgeous :sunny: today. Had to go pick up DH's new glasses then we decided to go for a drive in the country to a favorite lake as it is so pretty with the sun shining on it; and it was very nice. Gotta take advantage of these lovely days when we gottem' ...

Hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday tomorrow ... Rosebud:hug:

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-11-2009 07:24 PM

We had another lovely :sunny: day today, so we took advantage of that and spent a good part of the day on our deck hanging our Christmas decos. This way they are now up and we don't have do put them up during a blizzard or anything like that ... Got lots of walking in today too (back and forth; back and forth)!

Today is our pasta day also, so I made a lovely Bolognese sauce with Penne and it was yummy. Have 4 dishes leftover over for another dinner and maybe a couple of lunches: into the freezer they go for a day when I don't feel like cookin' ... :D

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow ... Rosebud

Ruthxxx 11-12-2009 06:53 AM

Rosebud, yes, ww pasta is fine for us folks - in moderation. I did discover that Smart Choice white pasta has more fiber than the ww stuff. I'm wondering if it would have the same effect. I'm a huge fan of ww everything!

I was really busy yesterday with shopping in town but resisted the urge to head for the Chinese buffet and headed home to my pea soup! :cheer: I felt so virtuous - which doesn't happen often. I made moules mariniere for dinner and carefully monitored the amount of ww toast I ate and the BGL is good again this morning. :cb: The weight is slowly creeping back down. It sure is hard to change that blasted set-point when you've been over 200 for years! :(

Today I may put out the front porch garlands and lights. Good idea, Rosebud. I have been known to struggle with the job in a freezing blizzard around December 20!

Have a healthy day, Chickies! :coffee:

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-12-2009 07:50 PM

 HI LADIES ~ We had another :sunny: day today, mostly for the AM, but it was still there all afternoon, but with a bit of a haze around it, but hey, we'll take it after that gloomy, overcast October ... that's 4 days in a row for us -- and still no ***** out there! :carrot:

We had another busy day today; did some more sorting of our spare room and tossed out 3 boxes today. The room is half empty now and that is with all our Christmas boxes in there too, so we are almost done ... yeah! So I got lots of walking and exercise in today too!

We had nice wild pacific salmon with mixed rice and french style green beans for dinner and it was very nice; poached the fish in lite Ceasar dressing and it was yummy. Had a great OP day today; hope you all did too! Hope you all have a fabulous Friday tomorrow ... Rosebud

Ruthxxx 11-15-2009 07:24 AM

Nice to see the site back up and stable. That certainly was a revelation to me. I actually got housework done!

BGL has been just fine lately but weight is flipping all over the scale. I think my slight cold/allergy/whatever is the problem. I'm working on lots of Vit C and healthy eating plus lots of rest and it seems to be abating.

Check in when you can.

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-15-2009 07:08 PM

Yes, it's great to have this site up again; I was concerned that it was my pc at first, but when so many others were having the same thing, I figured the issue had to be here (and my pc did give me a wee message of that sort).

We had a funny mixed bag of weather today; some :sunny: and some :rain: and some ***** and some ~~~~~ (that's big winds) ... it couldn't make up it mind ... Just had a peaceful, restful day; decided to take it easy after a busy week as my legs were a bit tired.

A couple of :angel:s brought us a present yesterday; they went and picked some veggies at a local farmers (more :angel:s) and brought us a box of big carrots -- I'm sure there is enuff for all of winter! So washed them up today; and we had some for dinner and I am putting some up in the freezer and a few in the crisper too. What a blessing ...

Hope you all are having a super Sunday too ... Rosebud:hug:

Ruthxxx 11-17-2009 11:46 AM

Just checked out my fridge for fruits and veggies and am in overload! I also got my Good Food Box today - $10 worth of fruits and veggies. I guess it's time for soups and fruit salads as I will be on the plane for Philly this time next week! I just made a big pot of broccoli soup which will be lunch with an orange and tonight's dinner will have lots of roasted veggies.

sapphire9 11-17-2009 02:40 PM

Hi, all. Haven't been able to get into the site for several days. Discovered today that my old link doesn't work so started from scratch. My bgl has been fair, not as low as I want it, but not too high either. Still having sunny/chilly fall weather.
Sounds like you Canadians are all ready for Christmas. I have a small metal tree that I put up. Last year I only put on the lights and didn't bother with the ornaments. Don't know what I'll do this year.
Ruth - Have a good time in Philly. A friend of mine moved there a few years ago and she loves it.
Rosey -

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-17-2009 09:57 PM

 We had the most beautiful day today with :sunny: all day long. We just did stuff around the house this AM, then we decided to do a bit of Christmas shopping and then we went for a ride to a few of our favorite lakes. It was a glorious day ... just way too nice to stay indoors. We got home just as the sun was getting ready to set ...

ROSETTA ~ we are almost done outdoors; today I picked up some snowflake pasties for the front window and a cute snow shovel with penquins to put beside our Moose-deer on the front deck. Then all we have to do is indoors: our little tree (4' plus stand), and a few garlands and things like that; really EZ stuff though. I hope to have it all done before December 1st; guess I'm really in the spirit this year!

Made a nice cassoulet bean pot for lunch with some leftover roast pork and veggies from Sunday; and had sole fish for dinner. Got lots of walking in at the store (did this on purpose), then we went for our lovely drive.

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY tomorrow ... Rosebud

sapphire9 11-20-2009 03:02 PM

Hi, All. Our sun has turned to rain today, but they promise it will come back tomorrow. My favorite radio station started playing Christmas music this week. I feel the season is being rushed. Probably because all the retailers are trying to get a head start.
Rosebud - that cassoulet sounds delicious. I don't cook much so I don't have leftovers. However, I am getting healthier takeout. There's a place near me that sells organic meals to go. Last night i had grilled salmon, bok choy and brown rice with ****ake mushrooms. Yum.
Have a good weekend.

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-20-2009 05:00 PM

HI LADIES ~ it :rain: during the night here too, but by this afternoon, the :sunny: came out, then retired again around 4 pm, but it is supposed to be back for the weekend. :carrot:

We spent the morning trying to decide where to put our Christmas tree; we decided to put it beside the piano this year, as it looks great there. That way I can keep my rocking chair by the front window to look out and see all the pretty lights, and my birdies, and any other activities out there ...

ROSETTA ~ You are fortunate to be able to get healthy take-out; the closest we have is probably Chinese, or deli BBQ Spit Chicken (which is my favorite here). I am still trying to decide what to have for dinner tonight; will be a romaine salad and something ... it is supposed to be cook's night off, so we'll see.

Hope you all have a fantabulous Friday night ... Rosebud

Ruthxxx 11-22-2009 07:01 AM

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I know our American chicks are in full T-Day prep!

We started Christmas celebrations around here this weekend with a concert at our wee Church last night. It holds 66 people but we had over 80 plus 11 band members in there last night. It's a good thing the roof repair was finished during the week!

My weight is still hanging on - of course wandering off the clean eating path doesn't help. I did a lot of baking this past week and..... My name is Ruth and I'm a sugar addict. The BGL has been OK though so I'm not too worried.

Next week I go to visit a 3FC friend near Philly to participate in her family Thanksgiving celebrations. I'm not too worried as I've met her several times and know her cooking philosophy is the same as mine. She also has an exercise bike and is a walker so I'll be getting in my exercise.

I hope your weekend is going well and that your next week is a good one.

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-23-2009 09:29 PM

HI RUTH ~ hope you had a nice trip and visit with your friend. Like I said to another Chickie, you are brave doin' a bunch of baking and that's great that you are able to resist it. We had friends over on Saturday for coffee and lemon coffee cake. We cheated as DH picked it up from a local bakery; and I had one piece, so I was still able to stay within my plan for the day -- and DH ate all the leftovers. I don't mind having stuff when it's something that I can resist overeating ...

Just had a restful day today as we were quite busy on the weekend. Hope you all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY TOMORROW ... Rosebud

Moni28 11-23-2009 11:56 PM

Hello all! I started a new job and it has kept me busy. It has also kept me very tired. I'm working in a bakery and oh my i'm so soar...its like an 8 hour work out! Lifting, pulling, pushing and so on. I checked my bs this morning when I left for work at 5am and it was 156...i was disapointed but also remembered I had quit a bit of bad food before bed. I'm a little nervous about the following holidays and eating. this is my first holiday season as a diabetic and i'm not sure how to handle things. Any suggestions? I must say i'm a huge fan of stuffing :/ Enjoy the week and happy holidays!

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-24-2009 05:01 PM

MONI ~ I still have everything, but I just limit how much; for dressing, I just have one spoonful. I make DH a HOMEMADE pumpkin pie and make myself a pumpkin custard (the same filling, only no crust). I prefer to make my own becuz I put much less sugar in our filling; and for mine, I use part or ALL brown sugar substitute. I worked my way down to that over time; I still like to put 1 tbl of cooking molasses (the dark one) and the rest sugar substitute.

Along with turkey, you can have lots of veggies -- like turnip, cauliflower, sweet potatoes (or yams), broccoli or brussel sprouts, carrots or parsnips, and don't forget salad is very filling. You could actually fill up your plate with turkey, veggies, and salad and be stuffed. (no pun intended) I also bake a few small baby new potatoes sometimes, but 1/2 cup mash is OK and won't ruin your day. Then with your pumpkin custard or a small sliver of pie, you could still keep on plan.

You can also make sure to have a lighter lunch that day like a good hearty bowl of soup, so you can have more at dinner. I really think it is a matter of planning ahead and how much you have; this year, you could go thru the holidays and still feel proud that you ate well, but also ate very healthy too.

PS ~ I avoid the goodie trays and instead have something else for myself like some nuts or fruit instead; take it with you, if needs be.

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY tomorrow ... Rosebud:hug:

Moni28 11-24-2009 11:26 PM

Thanks Justwant2b! Those are all good tips and points! I will need to make some veggies because as far as I know, there are none on the menu! I hope you all have a great holiday, i'll be back on to see how things went!

take care!

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-28-2009 12:41 AM

 Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving holiday. We awoke to 4 inches of ****** this AM and it continued on and off all day but it looks nice and Christmasy out there. I'm glad it finally came and the birdies seem to like playing in the heavy-laden branches. We had more than usual come by for something to eat today.

Had a good on plan week; got some walking in too. Hope you all have a restful and relaxing weekend ... Rosebud

Moni28 11-30-2009 04:29 PM

Hello!!!! Happy Monday! I hope the morning went well for all and the rest of the work is easy peasy! Morning was bright and sunny but chilly, I love it. BS this monring was 123 which is a lil high but still good considering I ate a lot of crap yesterday.

What are you goals for the week?
My goal is to
*work out at least 3 days for an hour
*check sugar regularly
*eat friendly meals
*take some me time

Keep up the great work ladies!

Justwant2Bhealthy 11-30-2009 07:24 PM

 HI MONI ~ we had a nice, restful weekend; busy day today shopping and walked my feet off. Had a bit more of the white fluffy stuff, but just a pretty sprinkle ... what are my goals for this week?

-- to stick to my CA (calorie alottment) each day
-- do some walking each day
-- do extra walking 3 days this week
-- catch up on mending
-- get Christmas cards done and sent out
-- put up indoor wall decos
-- put up bows on front deck tomorrow

HAVE A TERRIFIC TUESDAY TOMORROW ...

Ruthxxx 11-30-2009 07:59 PM

What a good idea to state goals for the week!

I have a week with no less than four food speed bumps and my goal is to navigate them as healthily as possible. I'm taking something to each of these food events so I'll be sure there is something legal to eat.

I am also planning to try new (or formerly rejected) veggies this week. Tonight I had roasted Brussels sprouts that I used to hate. They were actually delicious when roasted. Who knew?

I need to make a list like Rosebud's because the countdown is starting!

Moni28 12-01-2009 09:42 AM

Good Tuesday Morning All!!

Justwant2be-those sound like great goals! You are ambitious to send out Christmas cards, I wish I was that organized but i'm not! I think I've only done it once and that was a struggle. Good luck with those goals!

Ruth--I have never had brussel sprouts but my friend loves them. She said she makes them in the over and they are like lil cabbage, which I love! So i'll have to try some! Hope all your parties go well and you find friendly meals!

Its an early morning for me but lovely. I'm very excited to say my sugar was 115 this AM! I feel wonderful and motivated. I dont work till this afternoon so i'm going to take a "run" this morning. I haven't ran in awhile and was up to 2 miles, we'll see if I can even do 2 mins!

I've been struggling with meal planning. What or where do you all go when you run out of ideas or get bored with the foods you make? I just got my first paycheck so I hadn't been able to get many groceries.

Also, what kind of snacks do you like to eat, besdies fruits, that can be store bought. I really like those Kellogs bars. The strawberry and chocolate ones aren't too bad, they are 90 cals, 1 serving of carbs and like maybe 9g of sugar.

One last question.... I know splenda and equal aren't "sugar" but do they still affect your bs test? If I had tea with splenda and then took my sugar would it go up or would I test like I had had nothing?
Thanks ladies, keep it up!

Justwant2Bhealthy 12-01-2009 09:34 PM

Well, we had some more ***** overnight but not too much though. I did manage to gets some things on my list done today: did my laundry, put the bows up on the front deck; hunted down our "timer" for our Christmas lights, and put it on so we don't have to keep watch ourselves; hunted down the wall decos (will put them up tomorrow likely); and set out some more stuff around the house. We're doin' great and put our lights on for the first time tonight ... :D

MONI ~ you can use splenda or any type of sweetener in your tea or coffee and it shouldn't raise your BSL's. I know everyone is different but it doesn't raise mine. Congrats on those numbers: they are falling each and every day; keep up the good work!!!

I often scour the net for recipes; you can google diabetic recipes. I also have a diabetic cookbook here that I bought a while back, and some other good health eating ones too. What kind of recipes are you looking for?

I like to eat things like no-sugar added Source yogurt but there are other kinds: like yoplait and many others in your local grocery stores. You can have nuts in moderation, fiber bars as long as you remember only to eat one at a time. I also like to have things like 1 oz of cheddar cheese, or turkey pepperettes (only 50 calories each), or a banana sliced with yogurt on top; sugarless applesauce is great; an apple baked in the microwave for 1.5 minutes with cinnamon and splenda; carrots sticks dipped in 1 tbl All-natural peanut butter; 6 almonds or 3 walnuts (which is 6 halves); peaches or a pear are good becuz they have lots of vitamins in them and are very filling; babybell cheese; whole grain crackers with cheese or PB but be sure to only have a serving size (see box), cucumber slices, celery, and carrots sticks with lowfat Ranch dressing; or celery boats (with lite cheese); or a hard-boiled egg; and Jello sugar-free puddings, or jello, etc ...

Hope you find something there that interests you ...

Ruthxxx 12-02-2009 03:08 PM

The South Beach Forum has lots of recipes suitable for diabetics. Check it out.

I've now dropped 2 of the 3 pounds I put on over American Thanksgiving week! Yay! and my BGL was great this morning at 5.6(100.8). I have a dinner thingie tonight but will survive if I avoid the pre-dinner nibbles and refuse dessert. It's four days full of foodie challenges. :(

Justwant2Bhealthy 12-02-2009 09:39 PM

RUTH ~ Wow -- those are great numbers; good for you getting back on track after your trip down south ... your plan sounds good: you can do it!

Well, we got all our indoor decos done today; we have it down to only so many (to make things simpler) so it took us only just over an hour, but we put some Christmas music on that I picked up (some Pipe Carols) and we had a good time doing it together. Tomorrow, I need to get at my Christmas cards and gifts, so I can get them put too; that's the last thing I have to do until closer to Christmas time (I think) ...

I did my daily housechores in the AM, so I got some exercise in today with all the walking around doing the decos too. Had a good on plan day. Tonight was pasta night, so we had whole grain spagetti and meatballs.

Hope you all have a great Thursday tomorrow ... ROSEBUD

sapphire9 12-07-2009 03:00 PM

Hi, all. I've been on vacation since Thanksgiving and don't have a computer at home, so I've been out of touch. Spent the week cleaning my apartment and doing errands. Exhausting. Someone talked me into buying a whole pumpkin pie which turned out much larger than I expected. Ate it for days. My blood sugar was way high last week. One day it was 225! Don't know what's going on. It was 130 this morning. I get my A1c results on Thursday, so I will see.
Hope you all had good holidays. I have to do some serious dieting this week.
Have a good week.

fatmad 12-07-2009 09:15 PM

I got my fasting glucose down to 6.2 with good control over the weekend. A bit of challenge last night, birthday dinner for my daughter, the format was a 4 course meal with choices for each course. I ordered the first 3 courses within plan but I stupidly didn't just say no dessert for me, and figured other people could eat mine. I ate half of it, and pushed it away. So not as bad as it might have been. but fasting this morning was back up to 6.9
Argg, gotta get over this, or I will never get thru Christmas

Justwant2Bhealthy 12-07-2009 11:03 PM

ROSETTA ~ that's why I don't eat pie that you buy becuz it has so much sugar in it. I make my own and put less than half in DH's and for my custard, I use 1 tbl cooking molasses and the rest artifcial sweetener. Hope things get under control for you soon.

FATMAD ~ you are doing well; I know we all have those days when we go out, but now what I do is get right back on track the next morning and it really seems to help. I think we will always have a slipup now and then, but if we plan to get back on plan right away, we will have the victory in the end.
BTW -- WELCOME BACK!

Take good care and watch that sugar; need I say that ... not! ;)

Ruthxxx 12-09-2009 07:01 AM

Still doing OK as far as BGL is concerned although weight has gone up a bit - too many carbs. I did succumb to candied ginger the other day - I adore that stuff! I need to buy exactly the amount I need for a recipe from now on.

It IS a constant battle to eat properly but we will win it!

Justwant2Bhealthy 12-09-2009 07:46 PM

RIGHT ON, RUTH ~ yah, I really think that if we eat well the majority of days in a week, things will balance out in the end. Now, if we have one really bad day, the BSL's will go up for sure, but how many days does that take to level out again -- for me, if I eat well the next day, my sugars are OK again by the day after that.

Now I know that up & down constantly isn't good; but we are trying to be realistic here -- and we gotta enjoy life too. So I think that things will balance out, especially if we do a little exercise, like walking to counteract the sugar too. Even just walking around your home 5-10 minutes several times over the day can help ro lower you BSL's too.

We have had a blistery snowstorm here all day long and got about 6-8 inches by the looks of it. I just stayed inside and did things like bills, writing, meals, and daily chores. Hope you all have better weather than we have right now ...

sapphire9 12-11-2009 02:44 PM

Hi, all. We're having chilly weather here and some drizzle. There has been snow on some local mountains. This is a big deal for us. My bgl was okay earlier this week, but now it seems to be going up again. Saw my PCP yesterday. My A1c was 5.9, up from 5.5 last time, but still good. I'm not doing well resisting all the holiday treats floating into our office. Come New years, I will get serious.
Have a good weekend. Stay warm.

fatmad 12-11-2009 11:31 PM

you are so wonderful

I am so encouraged by you all.
Have managed to get my fasting bs down below 6 now. I will confirm this with a lab draw early next week at work, but I am so encouraged by this.
Have managed to avoid desserts fairly well, but need to increase exercise
Thanks to people for posting, I sometimes only lurk and read, but get great inspiration from you.

Justwant2Bhealthy 12-12-2009 05:14 PM

 HI THERE ~ we had lovely :sunny: all day today, but now clouds have rolled in from the west -- about -10C today which is a bit warmer. Still eating well and doing some walking around here.
