Thanks for the welcoming arms!

My personal challenge this week is to de-clutter my closet. It's crazy how much junk I'm holding on to for emotional reasons! It's really time to let go and move on....
I'm also gonna try and tackle my son's bedroom. Now that's a challenge of it's own!!!!! (If I can find my way in there.)

Wishing everyone the best.....

Leenie,
Yeah, I've got a whole portion of my closet devoted to clothes I used to wear and think I will again someday, altough they are now terribly outdated!(Hello 1994!).....haven't got to that part of my closet, yet.

Hi back from my little trip. It was a blast and the kids enjoyed it. I am also happy to have my DH home. We spent the whole day relaxing today. I still ate right and went and swam my laps and did my water aerobics. I find it interesting that I now think of that much exersise as part of my relaxing time. It is nice to realize that maybe my mindset is changing. Well I will catch up more later.

Hello everyone

Gosh, I can't belive this week is almost over. I've been trying to get passports done and am finding out that I'm just squeaking in and still may not have enough time, so its a lot of running around and I am so stressed. I'm almost done with three of them, but I have no idea what will happen with hubby.
I haven't had much time to sew at all this week. A is planning on going to an anime confrence dressed as Rize Hawkeye from Full Metal Alchemist, so its a blue military type uniform. We are using a pattern for a colonial man and revamping it. I don't know what we are going to do about her gun belt, I have some old leather skirts that we picked up from a second hand store that might come in handy, but we will see. She will be meeting up with five of her friends and they are all going as a someone from Full Metal Alchemist. I don't classify myself as a sewer, I follow instructions and thankfully things generally turn out ok. I tell my girls that I rely on the "patron saint of sewing" and I don't really know what I'm doing, I just hope for the best.

Our beautiful weather left and we have been having tons of rain. I know its a good thing as we were in a high fire rating. Everything is greening right up again and the garden is growing like crazy.

My exercise has been sporatic to say the least. I did use the stairs to go up to my dr's office (4 flights) so I'm pleased with some of my choices. Eating has been hit and miss of course. I'm hoping that once I have all this paperwork out of the way I can calm down enough to get back into some sort of a routine. I was trying to cut my paxil down, but with this past week I'm back up to my full dose. Its funny how I want to fall back into bad distructive habits when I get stressed.

Anyway I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and thanks for letting me run on, it sure helps getting things out of my head.

Take care all,
K

So I've lost 25 lbs..but it all still seems so daunting to me...it still depresses me to think I was still about 10 lbs. less than this 2 years ago for my wedding (our 2 yr. wedding anniversary is in a week and a half). And then I begin to think that I was even less than that before I met DH... So I don't know..
Anyway.. Things are alright here.. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!! *hugs*

I have had quite the day and not a good one. My best friend has Cystic Fibrosis. It is a disease of the lungs and you are born with it and it is always fatal. When she was born they gave her until early teens to live, when she passed that they gave her till early 20's to live. She is now 35. She had a brother die of it at 25, so she is basically living on borrowed time. Now it is not just the disease that is killing her, but it is the medication. They have to give her such heavy doses that it is playing havoc on all of the other organs. This morning I got a call that they were going to life flight her from one hospital to another one that is much better. Her liver shut down and she is in serious condition. I immediately dropped everything and ran to her bedside. I don't know if I was telling her goodbye. She may pull through, but she may not. I have always known that I would have to say goodbye at sometime, but I am not ready yet. We have been friends for 16 years. We have laughed and cried together. We have been through so much with each other. I don't know how I am ever going to be able to let her go and it looks like I may have to in the next few days. I am really trying hard not to look at this as the end, but it may be. I have had more years with her than I ever thought I would, but how do you say goodbye to someone that knows you inside and out. At the same time, I feel so selfish. She is always in pain, she is always sick and she is always fighting an uphill battle. How can I ask that she stay around just a little while longer?

Sorry I am going on like this, I just need to vent and need to cry. I hope everyone else is having an ok time.

Trish
