Morning Ladies
DH is on Day 2 of his Migraine I loaded him up on healthy food this am so hopefully he'll be better by tonight.
Last night I went to Olive Garden (not my choice) with some friends. I had 2 bowls of their salad and no bread/pasta The salmon I ordered had MSG in it or some "flavor enhancer" b/c When I got home My heart was racing and I felt horrible
I did have dessert. No NOT chocolate Lasanga I had Berries and Sorbet. I knew I'd crack if I sat with a diet coke and everyone else was indulging. So today is DETOX
I have benefiber sitting on my desk lol
Did you ever notice when people know you're eating healthy and doing well they tell you what they're eating? its wierd

Thanks,Marie....I'm usually not anyone's idol...(see my post on the verb). I just wish I could fit in most of my clothes faster.

Kierie, it might have been the sugar in the berries/sorbet...or a reaction to a spice on the salmon or salad dressing.

I think I'm doing much better mentally, I'm sleeping without pills and more relaxed and focused at work...it's about time! I've been in a slump since 2003.....

good morning gang

I am in a pair of jeans today that I have not been able to wear for the past 6 years. I'm not even sure why I saved them except that they weren't from Walmart and cost me some $ and they were my favorite jeans when I weighed 180. I can remember many times pulling them out of the drawer, looking at them and sighing deeply and thinking that I would never get back into them and that I should just let them go - but I didn't - and I'm in them! They are a size 16, but they are not a relaxed or loose fit jean - they are regular straight legs! I'm actually thinking that maybe, just maybe, with another 10 lbs off I could start tucking in my outer shirts ??? Ok I'm rambling about silliness - I think I'm in shock ;-)

Leenie - can we schedule a vacation for your boss? any decisions about the other job? you still thinking?

Hey Kierie - CONGRATS ON NOT EATING THE BREAD! The last time I went to Olive Garden I had the salad and bread sticks. I just couldn't pass them up. Hope you feel better today!

Marbles - CONGRATS on the inches lost since January! that's a lot! you are doing awesome! maybe you could call my house tomorrow morning at 5 and get me out of the bed so I can get in my exercise that I know I need. So glad your 2 year slump is passing - that is MAJOR girlie! hugs!

April - how is the grandbaby doing today? ya'll are in my prayers!

Cin - how did the meetings go yesterday? are you doing some today to? how ya feeling? hugs!

MMarie - congrats on the water drinking and eating yesterday! Can I ask - how are you reducing your meds? I'm glad the withdrawals aren't too bad. Was work busy yesterday?

The reason I ask about the reduction is bec we are reducing one of my son's meds right now and we are doing a 10% reduction about once a month. We do it by dissolving the contents of the capsule in 5 oz of water, and then taking out 1/2 oz and he drinks down the 4 1/2 oz. We are going really slow so that hopefully he won't have a reaction to going off of it. Just wondered how you are doing it?

Buddly - did ya'll get some cars washed yesterday? Hey? do ya'll go to the drive in on most Saturday nites?

Where's the rest of our gang? What's everybody up to today?

hugs,
cathy

Cathy, YES!!!!! YOU WILL tuck that shirt in girlie-girl!!!! before Thanksgiving!!!! (me too)!

OK, every morning at 5-15AM, tuck this image in your head......me standing over my senseo coffee pot, downing my meds, pulling on my ugly tee shirt, shorts and strapping on 3 lb. ankle wts. for my "warm-up", delicately balancing as I step over a 92 lb. Akita (who sleeps late) and starting my exercise routine, sweating as I *rebound* (looking like a complete fool but the shades are closed), do my wt. sets with dumbbells, abs with my stability ball and ending with a star on my kitchen calendar and time marked down, then gulping more coffee.....

If I get up to exercise, I hope you will join me!

I have *those* jeans too....and the white shirt to tuck in...all waiting for me in my closet, sigh! but I skipped those donuts this morning for a slice of grapefruit.

yes, I'm kind of *anal* about the stars on the calendar and the time adding up every week. If I don't exercise first thing, the day gets away from me and it doesn't work. Weekends are later. At night I try to stretch before bed as it relaxes my shoulders, back and helps me to sleep longer.

The Senseo was a birthday gift from Mommie (who got tired of hearing me complaining that I threw away 1/2 pot of coffee every day). Check out Sam's and Bed Bath Beyond with your coupons. Also, the website had a $20.00 rebate mail-in.

FYI-----Don't throw away BBBeyond coupons even if they are expired, they still take them! The last time I went there I saved over $35.00 with my coupons.

Good afternoon everyone....I just talked to DIL....yesterday the baby was transferred to a bigger hospital because of breathing problems.....she is doing better today....her blood gases are better today....it is really hard when you live 500 miles away.....I will be flying there when the baby comes home....for a week or two....to help out.

DH has an appointment with the optometrist today....he has tingling in his left arm & on the left side of his face....some numbness in the left side of his face....ever since the stroke....but he never told the doctors....he will when he sees the doctor on Thursday.....he is worried about it.

Kierie....you did a great job of eating healthy when you went out to dinner.

Cathy....DH & I have been praying....especially yesterday when we heard she was being transferred to a bigger hospital because of her breathing.
My doctor calls it discontinuation syptoms when going off an antidepressant....that is a good idea....dissolving the med in water.....to decrease it by 10%.

Cathy, congrats on fitting into the jeans! I still don't have jeans I can wear, but I see a slightly smaller person when I look in the mirror now. But boy, I wish I had jeans that fit!

Marble, it's good to hear you're sleeping on your own. Don't be surprised if you still have little relapses, but it will keep getting better in the long run. And you're an exercise champion! I can't believe you can force yourself out of bed to work out that early. Even when Bigboy wakes me up to chat at 4:45 am, I could never exercise then.

April, it's good to hear your grand daughter is breathing better. This must be such a scary time for you, and even more for your son and DIL. I'll send some her way, although any little girl with a charmed name like Claire Anne is sure to have a lot of fight in her. Lots of to your DH too. At least he's going to see the doctor about it instead of staying in denial.

KO, I've never had chocolate lasagna. I'd ask you to post a description, but it would probably be censored as food porn.

I've had a mild sore throat for about two weeks now. I don't know if it's a very slow to blossom cold or something else. This morning it felt like I was swallowing razor blades and I felt pretty yucky. But I have found a miracle throat soother: most of a box of Kashi Golean Crunch. And no, I won't be buying it again soon.

I'm still very gradually reducing Celexa, and so far it's going well. I think, in fact, that I'm doing well on the weight loss because of the reduction. Whatever I'm doing seems to be working, and I just hope to continue at the same rate. I can't wait to be a "normal" size again!

I was pretty proud of myself yesterday: I resisted buying "des frites Alfred" on my way home from my friend's cottage. It's sort of a tradition for people driving between Ottawa and Montreal to stop half way in Alfred for the best fries anywhere. Some people favour the Miss Alfred stand, but I'm partial to Chez Sisy myself. The aroma of fresh hand cut fries with salt and vinegar.... There I go with food porn again. I was hungry, but drove straight thru town with visions of fries and poutine dancing before my eyes!

cheaper than a Starbucks but tastes better. it has FOAM on top...the Home Cafe (folgers) make the best pods.....and with the $20.00 rebate and a coupon from BBBeyond, you could reduce the cost to about $35.00-40.00, you are saving $$ really!
( call your DH and explain this in detail)...go to the website for info rebate.

April, I hope things go well for your family, soon you'll be holding that baby in your arms!

Carla, allergies are rampant down here.......but maybe you have something that needs a throat culture? congrats on missing the fries....just think how long you would have to exercise to work them off. and with a large amount of FIBER you consumed from the Kashi, you might not be leaving the house today..... You'll be in your jeans soon....I took the Halloween challenge offered on the threads today, let's see if I can persevere....

Once you get used to it, I enjoy my early AM workout...because what I want most is to feel my waist and it helps my attitude for the day.....it's hard to be depressed when you have to concentrate on not falling over or dropping a dumbbell on your foot! and a good excuse for extra coffee!

When I was ill, I was unable to drink coffee due to stomach upset for almost a year, I missed it soooo much, but it wouldn't stay down. I really felt alienated.

Hi Ladies…

I had a busy weekend!! Whew! Friday night we had league and we took all 3 games. We’re 3 out of first, but I’m not sure we’ll be able to make that up. We only have 2 weeks left before we have positions week where we play for placement. We’ll see tho, can always hope the first place teams tanks a few games

Saturday we did some yard work early in the morning to prep an area for our shed… it’s slow going! Then we took a shower and got dressed and left around 2p.m. to go out to the Angels game. They were playing the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The game started at 7:05 p.m. but it’s tradition that we go to Angelos to eat and be merry cause it’s cheaper to get food there than at the game hehehe. We had some pretty good seats and the game was exciting. Not a blow away game. But nonetheless the Angel’s lost. We’re going again on September 3rd for sure. Brit wants to go for her birthday so we got tickets. It’s cute we all got shirts and hats lol. I may paint Brits face red If my friends can dig up any other tickets we may grab a game or two in between now and Sept 3rd. But it was a good game, we got home late, around 11:00 pm.

Sunday I spent all day cleaning house and then I took apart the two big rat cages I have and combined the together and put carpet on the mesh floors. It’s now 6 feet tall and my tea cup Chihuahua now has a high rise condo I gotta go get some neat toys to hang in her cage so she has something to play with. She’s a bit confused by it all tho. She’ll go up two floors and wonder where the heck her bed is. Just another 3 floors up kiddo!

I’m feeling under the weather today. My hand hurts from taking apart and clamping all those C rings to hold the cage, cage floors and cage ramps together. I have one heck of a migraine to. Hope everyone is doing well!

Cathy – WAY TO GO GIRL!!! Congrats on those jeans. I’m SOOOO jealous! WOOHOO!

Gotta runnnnnn…..
Sue…
