Smile Tuesday Chat - July 6th

Good Morning,

Its beautiful out, got all the windows open, ahhh love the breeze. Yesterday was hot and sticky, didn't go outside until 6 pm.

Nothing planned for today, I'm thinking about taking dd for a stroll in her stroller, maybe into town or by the toddler park. Not sure yet.

Whats everyone up to today?

Leenie

Good Morning Gang!

Wow Leenie, there is no breeze in Louisiana today. It is already about 85 and the humidity must be 200%. It is hot and sticky. I just straightened my bangs with a flat iron and left the rest of my hair wet so it would dry in tight curls because with all this humidity it will not be a good hair day. LOL Enjoy your breeze! I love the spring and fall when I can open my windows and let the clean air blow thru.

I am sore today from my strength training session yesterday. I ended up working out for 70 minutes. I didn't mean to exercise for that long, it just took me that long to do everything. I did get up this morning and do another 2 miles.

Anybody else exercising today?

Cin how did the rest of your WW meetings go yesterday? did ya'll have more show up? when I went to WW I went rather it was a holiday or not, but ya know, sometimes I'm just weird that away. LOL I hope and pray that all goes well tomorrow with your angiogram. Please let us know how you are doing when you can.

Well gang I need to get to work. I hope everybody has a great day!

hugs,
cathy

Hi Gals
All my meetings yesterday were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down! They should have closed!

I took this afternoon off because my dear Mother was driving down from Ohio to spend the night with me and be with me tomorrow but my brother called at 4:30a.m. this morning to say they were going to fly my Mother to Cleveland Clinic.....................I am waiting to see what they are going to do with her.She has had one open heart surgery and several stints........they said last time NO MORE stints..............so we are just sitting tight and praying for her and waiting.........waiting is the hardest part! She has severe heart pain.............bless her heart.

As soon as I get home when I can sit at the computer I will post and update you all. The blocked artery is in my stomach......very unusual so they say.
I had a "sick"episode this afternoon..............I have had worse.it was fairly light.

My hubby & girls will be with me...........I will be fine.

Later taters
Cin
PS Keep cool.it is 90 here today!

Default update

Wanted you all to know. They are not going to do open heart on my Mom.she does have 100% blockage in an artery they have repaired more than one.she is getting enough blood supply........with increased meds and a somewhat restricted and "strict" routine.they can hopefully help her with the pain. She is not a candidate for the surgery again......so it is good and bad news.Praise God she is doing well in ICU now.

Hi Leenie - Thanks for getting Suzanne and helping me!! I went in to work today to finish things I didn't finish before our "last" day on June 30th. I technically have July & Aug off, return to work Sept. 7, but I'll be in and out all summer (have to water my plants & am still unpacking/settling in to my office/job)

Cathy - I'm sore too. Met with personal trainer last night and was given some new leg exercises. Then I came home and dug out a flower bed that hadn't been maintained well the past two summers. "Owie" this morning.... all day actually. I'm making my protein shake and am off to the gym for my 75 min workout when I finish posting.

April - hope all is well!

Cinn - good news about your mom. It's tough with aging parents. My mom had her third (yes, third!!) total hip replacement on the same hip in November. This is the last time. If anything happens now, she's in a wheelchair for life. She is not a happy camper. She's just 69 and one active lady. She has to have a cane with her all the time now, and for longer jaunts (outings), her walker.

I hope YOU are doing better soon. I got behind on news. Is surgery in the works for you? or can something else be done.

Son had a meltdown last Thursday night, and another one Sunday night/Monday morning. Course hub and daughter are two provinces away at judo nationals for a week. This is why I didn't go. One of us always has to be here. Son is off work for the month (stress leave) and a psych appt coming up. He's been this route before but won't stick with meds or programming. He is severe AD/HD, was diagnosed with clinical depression at age 13 1/2 (he's 21 now), and I am beginning to think something else is in the works. I pray for some resolution/help for him.

Hub and I are worn out. He's taken a huge toll on our marriage, and our family life. We've done the tough love thing, but there are times you can't do tough love ... like when you are dealing with mental illness. It's hard to know where to draw the line with him. The last time we drew the line, we were wrong & he made a suicide attempt and landed up in a psych ward for 6 weeks. That's nearly 3 years ago. We don't want to be wrong again. IT's hard to work with the mental health system too (or anything actually) because he's legally an adult and they won't share info with us without his consent - which he won't give. Talk about a rock and a hard place.

Anyway, sorry for long post. I am off to the gym. It's better than tears

Good Evening Gang!

Cin I'm glad they will be able to help your mom with increased meds and restricted routine. Goodness you've got a lot of things on your mind right now. I was wondering if maybe the stress of worrying about your mom brought on the sick episode this afternoon? can you tell if stress makes the problem worse? was just wondering - as you know stress can do all sorts of crazy things to us. I am praying for you and will continue to pray for you. I pray all goes well tomorrow.

JudoMom - ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) I wish I was there to give you a hug in person girlie. I know how hard it can be to deal with depression - goodness with clinical depressed he definitely needs to stick with his meds! I will continue to pray for him and your family!

hugs,
cathy

Yesterday, we went to that Heritage Park I posted about and we had a great time. Part of our group on the guided tour was an exchange student from Germany with her parents from there and her American hosts. They were fascinated by the fact that my mother actually knew the people that lived in the Belgian Homestead and slept there. When they were told that my nephew was home from Iraq and bought a similar homestead which he is lving in, I got question upon question. It was a long day though.

Today, I decided to go to our local watering hole for a bit. While waiting for R to join me, I sat and visited with neighbors. Got teased about my "salary" was church secretary. I said the pay is lousy (none) but the company made it worth it. Our little town is so small that I didn't even bother to remove the keys from the ignition. R got there and I had to buy him drinks because he had left his wallet at home. Cheap date!

We bought a new printer/copier/scanner yesterday. Now I have to figure out how to use it. We're going to donate the old printer to the school as they are so short of them...like four computers to one printer! If DD can figure out why our scanner isn't working right and fix it, we'll donate that too.

Gotta go...am finished with making R the new bathrobe and am fixing a pair of his dress pants. When that's done, I'm making him some lounging pajamas.
