I KNOW I've not been a good friend here for not checking in, booo to me, okay I've beat myself up enough and will just try to do better.

Guilty of the thought process, that if I'm not particularly 'up', then I don't want to bring anyone else 'down' but that's not what we're about, is it, right?

first, saying Hi to everyone...

Lisa again so sorry about the kitten. Loved the pics you posted from imgur. Are they all calicoes, and doesnt that mean that they are females? and congrats on being down 8 more pounds!! Is it still horribly hot in Ohio?

PandaCupcake - thank you for starting the July thread also! you are a solid regular here and we love that. What kind of weather are you having? Have you met any new (good) people? I also admire you for keepin' on even though that doesn't always work out.

Flower - Oh I am sorry you are battling the cravings monster. I hope you can get that under control. Yes my flowers and garden are TAKING OFF with this heat and humidity. My greenhouse (which is just a little one, just a frame and shelving) is almost covered with scarlet runner bean vines, red flowers and so much foliage it's like a little shady haven in there We will have some cherry tomatoes to eat in maybe a week! and I have plenty of nasturtiums and pansies, mint and lemon balm that I bring in to work. AH summer!!

Coop - Hi!! has your super warm weather hung around still?

Kathleen - so glad you had a great time in Ireland sorry to hear your daughter did not 'sail through' the surgery...surgery is a big deal!! is she better now??

Sundove, nice to 'see' you here! we welcome you

It has just been a struggle to exist for the past couple of weeks because of the heat and humidity, I know that sounds so dramatic but its true if you work in a place with no air conditioning, AND a hot kitchen to boot. I usually enjoy and embrace every single second of the month of July but this month has gone by just with existing, like I said.

Have been bitterly disappointed in the new owners of the store, I KNOW I complained about the previous owner (the Infamous Rat B@stard) so much..but the new people are awful! I am so very uncomfortable working my one 4 hour shift a week, what is it going to be like when I go back fulltime?? I volunteered to work some extra hours for them during a busy time, which they welcomed and said was a great idea; and after hustling at my other job, and arriving at the store when it was super-busy, they sent me home after 15 minutes!! when I said "but I went to my other work 2 hours earlier to accommodate this" , the wife shrugged. I then asked, 'what about tomorrow?' and she said 'we wont know until tomorrow if its going to be busy or not' and I said, "then you don't get me tomorrow" and she shrugged..again. *%*$#!!!! Then I saw that they had hired 2 high-schoolers to work! yet they sent me home.
how rude is that?! This is just one instance of stuff that has happened. I HAVE to find a different job for the winter!!

OK sorry about complaining! My health is good ( I got the shingles vaccination with no ill effects) my weight is 'pretty' stable at 145, I go up and down a few pounds all the time. I still hate my legs and arms and won't wear shorts, but that's my problem. I haven't worked out since May because I just don't make the time in the morning, and it's too hot in the afternoon/evening. I have been riding the m'cycle to work alot because we didn't have rain for so long.

One of the other kittens isnt doing good now. Brave is struggling.

She spent most of the day at the new vet. She's home now but is not out of the woods.

Hi everyone

VermontMom,
Oh wow just read about the new restaurant owners . That’s not respectful of your time at all and they didn’t even apologize nor did they give you the heads up about the possibility that it may happen again; they only replied once you asked about it.

Lisa I am so sorry about the kittens.

Brave died today. i took her to the vet. Her temp was very low and she was dehydrated. she was half the size of the other babies.

I fed her the kitty milk today and had her wrapped up, trying to warm her but it was too late.

She loved me and i adored her. she loved it when i held her.

I held her all evening saying goodbye.

Ill never let another cat have kittens. its just too hard.

Oh Lisa, I am so deeply sorry about both kittens. I can only imaging how heartbreaking this is for you, and Sasha. Just shaking my head with sadness for you.

Panda great that you have central air.

Coop I hope Jury duty goes okay. Short and sweet (as possible)

Holly, that's terrible the husband and wife are so rude. I hope you get a better job with people who are deserving of your great work ethic. Once there was a husband and wife from Stowe who opened a food place in South Burlington. It wasn't just food. But I don't want to publically get more specific. They were notorious for being rude and mean. Really horrible to many people, and employees. I wonder if its the same people. Glad your mini farm is doing well. I think its great that you have a small greenhouse. I think they are important in the VT frozen tundra. To get seeds started in the spring.

IBelieveinMe2 hope you are doing well. I hope your daughter's recovery is going well now.

Sundove great to see you !!

hope you all have a good Monday

I am so sorry for being away for this long. IDK what is going on with me. I am eating worse than I have in many years. The eating is WAY out of control. IDK how I am going to get back on track this time. Its at a point where I am sure they must wonder about me at the 2 stores I do my shopping. Totally out of control. The quality of the food is not terrible. But the choices are absurd. Today I think calories were around 2500. More than half of that was vegan cheese puffs, chocolate callets, 2 oz of peanut butter and a huge cookie.

Enough is enough. I have to figure out how to get back to my old way of eating. Although Trader Joe's discontinued their popchips. That WAS my old low-ish calorie indulgence. Anyway I am thinking of starting a 2 week thread at 3fc where I post my calories for the day. IDK what will keep me accountable.

The weather has been getting to me. Too many hot humid days. IDK why it is bothering me so much this year. It never before bothered me. My body seems to be changing. I am my own personal sauna. eg its 60 degrees out and I am sweating. This is very new for me. My 15 year old window AC now rattles. That keeps me awake. I bought ear plugs. But they were too long. I looked like shrek, lol. I sleep on my side. So I had to return them due to plug protrusion, lol. I read that they should not stick out if someone sleeps on their side. Sorry for all the negativity. I just do not understand why my body changed. Can't be menopause, that ship sailed decades ago Thanks for letting me go on and on.

I hope everyone has a good Monday. And Lisa, I am thinking of you. <3

Lisa I'm so sorry you lost Brave are the other 2 doing ok? This heat can't be easy for them. Hope you're ok!

Holly sorry your new bosses are such nightmares - maybe things will settle down once they get to know you? I hope so at least! I don't think you're being dramatic about the heat fatigue - we're doing the absolute bare minimum until things cool down.

flower sorry to hear you're struggling with your diet just now - sometimes it just happens. I've had a bit of a blip too - I wonder if it's summer related? A little reset challenge sounds like a good idea. Maybe you can look for some low calorie treats to help get you through? Strawberries, little 100 calorie chocolate bars? Hope it goes well!

I'm feeling pretty run down just now. Just struggling to stay awake at work, and I had a 2 hour afternoon nap on Sat and Sun. I have pretty bad hayfever too, and I piled on 6lbs last week! I am not sure what's triggered it, but I hope it'll pass. I reintroduced some foods, but I'm going to cut them out again, to see if it helps me feel better.

It cooled down a bit here - we got down to 40 degrees the other night - it was bliss! It's sticking around 60-70 now, but with a bit of rain. I'm enjoying it while it lasts!

Oh flower,

I am so incredibly sorry you are struggling with your food intake. Its all where your head is. That sucks. I have done that before but after a couple days i can get myself back on track.

I wonder if it has something to do with the weather.

Thanks for your thoughts.
