  • Quote: Lisa, it is tough being short of money at this time of year. Could you ask for someone to give you a tank of petrol for a christmas present this year?

    Coop,

There really isn't anyone I can ask. Jennifer doesn't like it when I ask for money.

    I just can't go.

I am so thankful that all is okay with your memory issues!!! I wish you didn't feel dumb about being worried and going to the doctor about your concern. You did the right thing, and now you can address the stress that is causing the memory issues. I hope you will take up meditation to help you in that effort. I admire people who can meditate. I want to, but I feel like I don't have the patience for it. Yay about the insurance coverage being more than the contractor's estimate. Let's pray and keep our fingers crossed that all will go smoothly with the repairs and you will have some money to spare. I am so very sorry that you cannot make your car payments right now. I will keep that situation in my prayers. Don't give up hope! Sending you lots of love and hugs!!!
    Kathleen,

I feel better today, no so down. I am going to take some steps to calm down. I downloaded a great app to my phone. I made a check list of things to do every day that can be good for me. Tomorrow is our family Christmas, it's going to be hard. I dread going.

The other day, when I went to my house. I met with a general contractor, he'll probably be the one to fix the kitchen. I also met an appraiser from the bank. I also had my weight loss clinic. I got a lot done that day.

I hope you all are well. I'd post more but I'm really sleepy.
  • Kathleen - thanks for stopping by with an update! It sounds like you are going to have a really lovely Christmas, and I hope you enjoy your big family celebration! Bunny is thankfully all better, and I'm pleased to say we've had a breakthrough and they are friends again

Lisa, I just remembered a good app I once used: "gps for the soul". It was a free meditation app, which played music and had a visual breathing bar. I found it relaxing just looking at it!

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas tomorrow!
  • a quick hello to everyone and Merry Christmas Day!

Coop, so glad the bunny is better, and that you have lots of days off! Hey and I don't like that the other half's family is going to be judgey about where you spend your Christmas time, life is too short for that! They should realize you have to balance the family time.

Lisa, well we are so glad that the memory issue is not neurological. of course you're stressed so sorry about the money issue too, that is never fun. thinking of you!

Monica, so good that you are managing this difficult time of year with courage and control and your consistent exercise. and yes wow you are very generous with the people in your life, I hope they all appreciate it.

JesikaBeth nice that you have an extra day off and hope the huge family gathering is managable for you.

Kathleen so good to hear from you! congrats on your hockey team doing so great and great to hear good things about your son.

yesterday I was at work from 6 a.m. to 4 pm and wow it was a long day on my feet. I feel beat up today lol. We are going to our younger son's place today (the one that got married this summer ) for brunch. And then back to work tomorrow, 6 am , ugh And this upcoming week is super busy each day, and next weekend the busiest. Lots of long days.

Thanks for the kudos about the candy mushrooms, I got the OK to sell them from my wonderful boss () at the store without giving him a cut, and the yes the cash is coming in handy!

I have had way too much junk and sugar in the past few days and been too busy to work out, have missed a couple days.

    talk to you later friends!
  • Lisa thanks for the cute beautiful sparkly Merry Christmas greeting

So STILL i have been eating all kinds of sugary carby treats, yeah all stuff I made, the stuff is in the freezer which is on the outside porch, so it's not super easy to get to I should just throw it all out. Same for the CHristmas candy DH bought, its a huge bag but actually it's the cheap Palmer imitation chocolate so I can resist it...but then there is a bag of hard candy too and ARGH I need to get it out of the house.

Work is not overwhelming yet, people are just starting to arrive into town (Christmas falling on a SUnday was weird and it is messing up the usual expected timing of tourists) but yesterday was a challenge, my two young co-workers decided to leave early, it's was the boss' day off (I personally think that an owner of a small business should suspend their 'day off' when it's mega busy!) and I was left alone in a very busy store. Whatever. I have today and tomorrow off, they are my regularly scheduled days off and I hope they get SLAMMED today without me

We had rain the other day, which when it falls on packed snow creates ice, I spread 100 pounds of sand on our path and driveway to be able to get out; then drove to the farm goods store and bought 210 pounds more...it's good to have on hand and i keep it in my trunk for more weight/traction. Winter sucks

I haven't worked out in DAYS because of a work schedule change, if I don't exercise in the early morning it's a lost cause..but if I kick myself in the butt I can get back into the routine! I've done well for almost 2 months now and I NEED to keep it up. Keeping Monica as my hero

So how screwed up am I, that when I received some nice chocolate from younger son and his wife as a Christmas gift, I thought, "Okay, Pat and Lisa must not think I have a weight problem, because they wouldn't give chocolate truffles to a fat person, would they?!" I know I am heavier than I have been in years, and my self - image is so screwy I really don't know what i look like it doesnt help that i have jeans ranging in size from 10 to 14 . Yeah I should measure and weigh myself but it would plunge me into a horrible place.

HI to everyone and please let us know what is going on with you!!
  • Hello everyone, just checking in. Hope everyone had a good Holiday. Mine was alright, and yes I survived the huge family gathering LOL.

Been having some health issues lately that I'm trying to address, but other than that things are o.k. I'm most certainly ready for the New Year though.

I hope you all have a fantastic day
  • Hi all - hope you had a nice holiday!

Holly, enjoy your days off and put your feet up!

Jessica - glad you survived the big family gathering!

We had a quiet day ourselves, it was nice.

I have been reading a good book on nutrition, and I'm going to follow its tips to cut out sugar. I don't think there's any point doing that until the new year though. I really hate new year's resolutions, and really hate that people will think my giving up sugar is a new year's resolution! Sounds silly I know, but so few new year's resolutions hold. This plan is to go cold turkey for a couple of weeks, and then let yourself have a little bit every so often, and I'm dreading people seeing my once in a while treat as falling off the wagon, because they'll only try to tempt me more. Sugar is in everything too, so I'll have to be more organised with my packed lunches.

It'll do me good though, and hopefully will chase a few lbs from my hips!
  • Hey ladies,

I'll post more, either tonight or tomorrow. I am getting ready to go to weight loss clinic, where I will be weighed. I am so nervous. Perhaps I should take a clonzapam to help with my nerves. What if I gained? I am worried. I have jeans on, which maybe I should have put yoga pants on. They weigh every ounce.

I am leaving in about a half an hour to give myself plenty of time to get there.
  • I gained a pound.

Next Wed I start the supplement program. 1 morning supplement, 1 noon supplement, and a healthy dinner. I'll be glad to get started.

I hope you all have a great Wed. evening.

Lisa, best wishes with the supplement program. Are they shakes or bars?

best wishes on cutting out sugar, you are right that it is everywhere

    HI JesikaBeth,

I'll be drinking shakes for breakfast and lunch, plus bars for snacks. I am also starting a food diary, which I detest but they are insisting I have one.

    I hope you are well.

I am starting a food diary as well. Not usually my cup of tea, been there done that, BUT... I'm wanting to add more accountability/structure, so I figured it'd give it a go.
  • Lisa - a 1lb gain is actually really good for Christmas! I've probably gained closer on 10!! You will lose that gain again in no time! I hope your shakes work well for you, and good luck with the food diary.

Jessica, I hope your food diary goes well too - I'm like you, I really hate them - I usually fill them in for 3 days and give up.
