Yes we are safe! very safe! Everybody here is fine!
Thanks for all of yall's prayers and encouragement! Yall are just too sweet!

It is noon, and we just got back home about an hour ago. Oy vey as Tippy would say! I wish we would have stayed home!
The night before it hit land the hurriance was 145 mph and a Category 4, fixing to be a Category 5. Well apparently all the prayers really helped, because yesterday morning before it hit land it got down to about 100 mph and actually came in farther over at Lafayette rather then Lake Charles.

We would have been fine here at the house, but of course, there was no way to know that. It looks like the electricity went out for a little while, and there are limbs and leaves everywhere but that is all. We saw a few trees down coming in, but nothing major. There are a few cases in our area of a tree threw a roof, and a few places with high water, but not bad at all - nothing like what was expected. Now I hear it is pretty bad in Lafayette and New Orleans today.

Cracker Barrel was the best part of the trip. hehe There was nothing to do in Tyler yesterday except go to one nice mall they had, and my 2 teenage guys and their dad, can only last so long at a mall. hehe

Well I am washing 7 loads of clothes and checking email so things are back to normal.

I'm soooo glad to see you Cathy! Man, we were wondering how it was.

The weatherman said that our weather has been affected by the weather down there. It's 70-75 and pouring rain. We've had some high winds too.

I won't be painting much today. I hurt my hip sitting on the floor too much. If you looked at my X-rays, you'd understand. My right hip is way up compared to the left one. It hurts to walk, even sit. Oh well...like a little pain ever stopped me!

Have a good weekend everyone. We're shopping and painting and DH is working on the soffits(sp?) No church this weekend. I need a church vacation!

hi... am kinda back... lots on my plate last three weeks .. overwhelmed would be the word of choice.
