Default My thoughts are with you Wes

Wes,

You are doing the best you can and other posters here are correct in their thoughts along the lines of other people being responsible for their own behaviours etc.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you!

Wes- you are going through so much right now. It sounds like you are dealing with everything in the best possible way. As usual- I agree with PhotoChick.

- You definitely don't need anyone making wild assumptions about your life.

Dear Wes,

I hope that things are getting better for you.

I had lapband surgery March 23, 2004. One of the two best decisions I ever made in my life.

I too, went through a breakup 10 days post surgery, but six weeks later, we worked out our problems. Part of the problem was his insecurity of a woman he fell in love with who was obese, becoming thin.

I also am in southern CA and work with animals.

I found an article in New York Magazine about the emotional fall out from weight loss surgery. I was going to send it to you, but I can't pm yet as I've only posted 9 times on this forum.

Feel free to pm me to get this article or you can google it: it's New York Magazine. (NYMag . com) and here's the title.

It profiles several people who had weight loss surgery and the emotional issues of changing due to dramatic weight loss.

My Life as a Thin Person by Jennifer Senior. Published May 21, 2005.
People like Lisa Marie Sohr, who lose 100 pounds or more with stomach surgery, find that with their new bodies often come new friends, new spouses, new lives. But happiness is not a foregone conclusion.

I'm really sorry to hear about your hardship.. I imagine that would be hard to deal with on top of trying to lose weight and take care of yourself.

I think the best thing I can say is that you are doing the best you can and taking care of your health and yourself will benefit both you and your family.

You're in my thoughts...

I'm glad you came here, Wes. It helps to kind of word vomit all over forums like this. If not because there are surely people who can relate and give good advice, but because it is awfully cathartic to maintain some anonymity. (I find myself less honest in face to face conversations.)

I hope you will continue to survive this. There are few things that help, I know. I encourage you not to get bogged down in your thoughts and just live in the present moments with your kids. At least you have them to keep you going. You wrote at some point that you can't picture yourself with anyone but your wife. My advice to that is: don't picture it!!

Good luck. Did you ever see a doctor about the depression?
