Good Morning!!!

Liz and Ellis-you are both silly. You should just go and have fun and not worry about the small stuff so much. In other words, do as I say, not as I do!!

Meg-i'll ask my hubby how I look, and either he says great, and I look in the mirror and look like a hippo, OR he'll say, "Great, except for all the make-up." Mind you I hardly ever wear it, and when I do i don't wear much!!!

Well.....Hope everyoe is okay. I'm starting to feel my depression about my weight overtake my feelings about DS. SO, things are getting back to normal!!!

ellis 06-09-2002 07:02 PM

evening, all

VERY funny, Den. Just go and have fun and don't worry... sure... when you know that there'll be some skinny ***** of a babe at the party/theatre catching every male's eye. NOT that I really give a damn about the males. I just want her body. And I want to tuck my shirt in. And if I drop my program on the floor, I don't want to have to casually kick it under the bench because I'm too fat to bend over to pick it up.
Oh, make-up! I bought myself an eyeliner as a little pick-me-up treat. Hadn't worn make-up for years other than lipstick. I unskillfully applied the eyeliner, and went out to get DH's reaction. He looked at me and said, "Did you know you have a black eye?" huh!

Meg, when MY husband says I look nice, I know it's because he just wants me to be ready NOW, so I immediately go and change.
 Men are so lucky. They've got so few choices, and nobody even LOOKS at them!! Really, women only dress for each other. So that no one will say, "Did you see what SHE was wearing?!?! That dress!! She looked like SUCH a dog!"

Gosh, I'm not in the forum that I thought I was. I was just going to say something to Shel. And I think I swore. Excuse me.

Liz, Leens, MrsM, how are you?

Listen girls, we're kickin' butt this week.
Hear me?

dentrassi 06-10-2002 06:37 PM

HI!!!!!!!!!!!

One day down, 1,599,999,999 to go!!! But seriously, I stuck to it, and I think I'm finally getting back on track!!

Ellis-I'm more interested in DH's body than the skinny *****'s.....OOPS!!! TYou mean you want to LOOK like her! ......my mistake..........Okay, you know i'm feeling better when I start making cracks like that!!! I know what you mean about tucking your shirt in, I gave up on that YEARS ago! I don't even feel stressed about losing a lot of weight any more. i have gotten so heavy that my MAIN goal is to be able to move around and breath easily, and to be healthier.

WHERE IS EVERYBODY ELSE? I HOPE ELLIS'S POTTY MOUTH DIDN'T TURN YOU OFF, 'CAUSE I FOR ONE DO NOT CONDONE ALL THIS !@@#$%! SWEARING!!!!

Seriously, hope everyone is doing well!!!!!

ellis 06-10-2002 06:56 PM

oh dear, I'm so sorry. I NEVER swear other than in another forum as a bit of a lark. Provides shock value. Please, absolve me from my sins.
Hey Den, I did well, too!! Except I had a headache. And I drank 14 cups of water. And I'm still thirsty. What's wrong with me? I NEVER drink that much! I usually drink 6 cups a day.
Speaking of potties, I think I have potty BREATH!!
I'm dying for a big bowl of cereal.

Where is everyone else? Are we alone again, Den?
IS EVERYONE OKAY!!!???

I WANT SOME SUGAR!!!!!

ps
I KNEW you'd think I was lusting after a woman, Den.
You are VERY crude.

MrsM95 06-11-2002 01:26 PM

Good Afternoon Everyone!!
I hope all are doing well. Sorry i've been kind of MIA for a while, Work has kept me hoppin and part of the time out of the office and i'm still waiting for my home computer to get fixed.

I'm doing fairly well mood wise now if i could just get the food things straightened out. Oh Well one day at a time. So far today i'm doing very well and am armed with lots of healty snacks. I know that when i eat better i feel better. I know we've been in a rut here lately with what we eat so i guess i'll have to spend some time scouring the net for a few new recipes that will satisfy my meat and potatoes family.

We have started packing the camper again for this weekend. I have to get it done early, DH is hoping to take friday off and he will leave a day ahead of dd and I. I will have to have it done by wednesday so that he can leave thursday evening and i can spend thursday planting some plants in my garden (if it's dry enough)

Well i better get busy. Everyone have a GREAT DAY
MrsM:wave:

dentrassi 06-11-2002 09:35 PM

HI!!!

Mrs. M-Glad to see you back!! You are so lucky to be taking off again. I wish I could go too!! My kids have half a day tomorrow, and then they are off for the summer. I HOPE we can have a peaceful summer, "cause this year has just been too rough.

Ellis-YES!!! I AM crude! Thanks for noticing! ;) I am trying to get in touch with my "inner brat", 'cause i think i eat too much partly because I didn't express some of this stuff enough when I was younger. (SOUNDS good anyway!!!)

Leens-I MISS YOU!!! WHERE ARE YOU?

Meg and Liz-PLEASE COME BACK!!!

ellis 06-12-2002 11:20 PM

hey darlings, what's new?

I have absolutely nothing interesting to tell you.

MrsM, you lucky girl going away again. Have fun!! You deserve it!
I just LOVE browsing the Internet for recipes. It's so distracting looking at food pictures. ;)

Hey Den, your boys are on holiday! I hope your summer is serene.
And financially rewarding. :dizzy:
I have a headache. You?
If I haven't lost a pound by TOMORROW, I'm going to cut something off.

Leens, Meg, Liz... hope you're all well.

liz321 06-12-2002 11:30 PM

Still kickin'

Thanks for all the hello's..not much new...busy week but a good good one! Hope everyone is well! Liz

Check out the daily's too!

dentrassi 06-12-2002 11:49 PM

HI!!!!!

Ellis-Don't weigh yourself so much!!! I think it takes a while for this to kick in anyway. If I weigh myself every day I get too bummed out. Actually, I am SURE I gained some weight recently, but I don't know how much because I stopped weighing myself. It would only bum me out MORE, and then I'd eat more!!! Usually I weigh once a week, but sometimes I'll weigh half way through the week to see if I am on track.

Liz-HI!!! Sounds like we have been having the same kind of week!! I have been busy, but I couldn't tell you what I have been doing!! Grocery shopping multiple times etc. I had JUST gone, and DS #1 told me UPON MY ARRIVAL HOME that we needed cat food. AARRGGHH!!!!

Leenie 06-13-2002 07:54 AM

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been posting much, I've been so busy at work its incrediable and when I get home at night, after putting Grace to bed I'm falling asleep in the chair and its only 8:30 pm . . . Sad huh.

Nothing much new here SOSDD. Boss is out today but before she left she made sure she dumped a pile of @(*$%_ on my desk. You know it really makes me wonder why I'm getting paid SO much more less than her and I do all her work ??? go figure ???

Anybody doing anything FUN this weekend (Fathers Day). I'm taking hubby out for dinner on Saturday because Sunday would be just to crazy, everybody goes out then. Since this is his first Fathers Day I gave him a Digital Camera and said its F-Day and B-Day present. He was very happy. I'm so bad when it comes to gifts, the minute I get one for somebody I HAVE to give it to them right away. :D

Well kiddo's, have a WONDERFUL day, hope all is well and I'm sorry I haven't read any posts lately.

TTYL, Love, Leens :dizzy: <--- no lie this is me.

ellis 06-13-2002 09:12 AM

good morning all

Leens, you NEVER read posts!! That's okay sweetie... life is busy busy. Wouldn't it be great if you won the lottery and you could drop that load of @(*$% onto HER desk!?

Father's Day. Curses. What a nuisance. And I did nothing for my mom on mother's day because I was busy sanding their floors. Maybe I'd better do breakfast for BOTH of them!

Liz, I'm glad you're having a good week!

Hi Meg! How are you?

MrsM, have you got that trailer packed? It gets easier every time. (especially when you've got a whopping great camper with a BATHROOM in it!! You lucky girl!)

Den, I know, I know... don't weigh so much. What can I say... I'm addicted to my scale!!!
Hey, but I've lost 2 pounds!! I'm so excited!! The only problem is, I've got that stupid song going through my head... "Zippity do-da".

la di da... going to get a coffee...
have a loving day girls...

liz321 06-13-2002 09:48 AM

You guys!

What a silly bunch we are! Have a great day!

I have no idea what I am doing this weekend....I am working nights on Sunday but other than that....hubby is coming home late tonight so Leens he might be getting his fathers day present early too;)

We don't buy huge gifts for each other because as you can see it is just one big party any day of the week, especially for him! Five sleeps away with me doing everything from garbage, to grass to day to day is a huge gift if I do say so myself.....:D

Talk at ya later!

Liz

Leenie 06-13-2002 11:44 AM

Hey again,

I hear you on the big gifts Lizzy, we normally don't do it either. I can't remember the last time I bought something for him, and we don't even go out to eat or go on vacation....sad huh. Well once in a while I'll go to lunch with the girls here at work...But this fathers day is his first and I wanted to make it a special one :) Sometimes you just gotta splurg a bit...life's to short

For mothers day he planted black eyed susans for me :) and thats about the extent we go.

I gotta play the lottery LOLOLOL.

Have a WONDERFUL day

ME :dizzy:

meg 1+2 06-13-2002 11:09 PM

Helloooooooooooooooo

Sorry I've been neglecting you all. Like everyone else, I'm sooooo busy. Future dil's shower is a week from Saturday and I have been finishing the favors and making lists so I can start cooking this weekend. I will be so glad when it's over!!!

Weather here today was pretty good, after all the rain we've had. They finally lifted the water bans, so we can wash our cars now. It's going to rain again tomorrow and into the weekend, so it might put a damper on my Father's Day cookout Sunday. Oh well, we'll eat in, at least we'll all be together. Did I say EAT??? Here we go again with the food. Always food, cookouts, showers, birthday parties AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

I too am bad with the scale. I hop on it every morning expecting a miracle and almost always, I hop back on it before I go to bed, gee what a surprise, I'm usually up 3 pounds by the end of the day. What a bummer...I know Linda, I'm trying to get rid of it.

Have a great Friday everyone...and if I don't check in, have a wonderful weekend!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~Meg

Leenie 06-14-2002 07:39 AM

Hi Ladies,

Just plopped in to say YELLO !!

I get to leave work today at 12:00 yahooooooooie, makes coming in early the rest of the week sooo worth it. Its raining and dark and gloomy but it really doesn't matter cause I'm going home early :D

Lets see the weekend is as usual, clean clean clean lol other than takinging hubby out for FDay and visiting his dad on Sunday.
I know this sounds aweful but I love doing and going no where on the weekends, its the peace I enjoy.

Well have a great weekend.
MEG !!! did you get your dress yet, details woman details

Love, Leens:dizzy:

ellis 06-14-2002 08:11 AM

Leens, you're leaving early! Have a GREAT weekend! I can relate to the "staying at home and doing nothing" on the weekends. It seems like we get about two of those per year. There's always some commitment... dinner guests, party to go to, sports event for the kids, family gathering... I WANT TO BE ALONE WITH MY FAMILY!!

Meg, I'm surprised you even have time to post! What a lot you've got on your plate! Yes, have you found a dress yet? What are you cooking? And what are the favors? We all want one.
I'm like you... I'm on the scale EVERY day!
Have a great time at the cookout!!

Gee, Liz... you're pretty good to your man. Garbage, grass, sex...
 Have a wonderful weekend!

MrsM, are you camping? Listen, you need a computer in your trailer. You've got everything else! ;)

Den, what are you doing? The kids are home... have you got a schedule for them? I'm going to be SO organized with the kids this summer. (yeah, right!)

I've got to go and bathe... I've got my first session with the psychologist this morning. I'm going to walk down... should be about a 45 minute walk, so I'll get some exercise in at the same time. Except I'll probably need another shower by the time I get there!

take care, darlings...

dentrassi 06-14-2002 07:35 PM

HI ALL!!!!

Things have been busy since the kids got out of school, and not in a good way!!! They had dental appointments this morning starting at 9, and I awakened to the phone ringing at 9:10!!! DH was playing games on the computer, and forgot what time the appointments were. ARRGH!!! We got up there in 10 minutes, and it worked out time-wise, but the rest of the day has felt frazzled. THEN DS #2, who went to a friends house on his bike yesterday when we told him not to ("I forgot."), went out on his bike again, went downtown, and nearly got hit by a car. I told him he couldn't go off on his own anymore. (He KNEW he shouldn't have gone that far!!) I think the near miss scared him though. I HOPE so, 'cause it sure scared me when I heard about it!

Ellis-I'm going to have to schedule them a bit, 'cause as you can see, trouble has already started!!! We bought 2 new music books for DS #2's viola lessons, so I am going to make sure he practices. He wants to be GREAT, but he usually has better things to do when it comes time to practice!!! DS #1 tells me his new band wants to practice twice a week, so I will be a driving maniac. (DH was accepted to a writing program, so he'll be pretty busy in July.) They will keep up their lessons (Wed. is viola and electric guitar, Sat DS #1 takes piano lessons with my MIL). They will do their chores, and if I have MY way, the number of chores they do will increase!! (They don't really do much around the house-my fault!!) Hope the Psychologist worked out okay!!

Leens-Lucky you getting off early today!! I agree with you about quiet weekends too. IF we see people, I want them to be people I can really be myself with!! Father's Day here will be a big breakfast, theoretically made by the boys, but I'll probably do most of it!!!

Meg-You sound BUSY!!! I want to know too, did you find a dress?

Liz-That's it here too. One big party, with all of us so tired that we sleep at various times during the day!!!

dentrassi 06-14-2002 07:37 PM

AARRGH!!!

Just wrote a post and it got wiped!!! BASICALLY, I hope all of you are doing well, and I'll write more later.

dentrassi 06-14-2002 07:38 PM

OOPS!! It DID show up!!! THAT is basically how my day has been. Not bad, not good, just WIERD!!!!!:dizzy: :dizzy:

ellis 06-15-2002 06:34 PM

bye Liz... take care... see you later.

Den, I swear you just do that to up your number of postings.

Father's day tomorrow. What a nuisance. I'm having my parents over for breakfast. We're having:

Slowcooker Breakfast Cobbler
Breakfast Honey Minted Grapes
Breakfast Trifle
Eggs and bacon, etc

I; of course, will be able to eat nothing!! (okay Den, I'll eat some eggs and bacon ;) )
Uh, huh... you need a schedule. You must have just about gone over the edge with the dentist thingy.
Hey, my psychologist appointment went really well, thank you. She said that considering I've never had therapy before, I'm dealing fabulously with my life.
She gave me a few exercises to do. Homework. One is to make a pie chart and alot so much time to each activity/friends/family members/myself/etc. And stick to it. She said that I'm currently giving an entire pie to each person instead of dividing it up. Sounds good to me. "Sorry, I can't see you tomorrow. According to my psychologist's instructions, you're not on the pie graph until next week."
And I have to figure out where I want to be in 5 years. (lying on a couch in a castle, being fed grapes while being fanned by attractive men?)
And "how am I going to take my place in life?" What does that mean? Haven't I already arrived? When WILL I "arrive"? When my kids have left home? When I've got a job and made my first million? What exactly does she mean?

I think an angel must be watching over DS#2! Phew!! You must have been shaking, Den!

It's been raining non-stop again. I normally don't mind rain, but I'm feeling a bit icky. And oily. I bought myself some flax seed, Den. Just trying to figure out how to eat it without knowing that I'm eating it. It's sharp, chewy, and crunchy. yuck.

Gotta go set the table for tomorrow.
Hi Meg and Leens!

MrsM95 06-18-2002 01:27 PM

Hi Everyone,
Sorry my posts are king of erratic. Last week and this week have been really hectic and frustrating and so far i have come through it all unscathed (well ok i have a few bumps and bruises. :dizzy: )

Well this morning I made a MAJOR decision regarding my job. Last Thursday evening just as I was getting ready to go home i got called into my boss's office and was given a choice, either be layed off indefinitly or take a possition in another department. The new possition would be physical labor out side and be 50 - 60 hours per week while the job i'm used to is in an office and only 40. With the new possition I would get a HEALTHY raise in pay but i would also be giving up a lot of time w/ my family that i dearly love. To make matters worse they wanted my answer immediatly. Well i talked them into letting me decide today. Even though i'm scared to death i've decided to take the job, there aren't many jobs in my area for what i'm trained to do. So i will be around even less :( oh well i guess it's better than being unemployed.

Our camping trip went great and i hope everyone had a great weekend as well. When i have more time i'll post again but i have to run.
MrsM95

dentrassi 06-18-2002 03:04 PM

Hi All!!

Mrs. M-Everyone is erratic sometimes. I haven't posted for a few days either. Things have just been BUSY!!!!!! The change in job sounds challenging. Being away from your family more is a bummer, but earning more is a definite plus!! Also, the outdoor job will probably help you with exercise and weight loss!! I'm glad your camping trip was so much fun, and THAT might be the way to continue to get in good time with your family....take off where no one can find all of you!!! Good Luck with the new position. (When does it start by the way?)

Ellis-Are you okay? Haven't heard much from you lately. Okay, I should talk.... How did the breakfast go? And what is BREAKFAST trifle? Does it have more or less sherry in it? (tee hee) Glad to hear the Psychologist is working out okay. I'd say ASK her if you aren't sure what she means. Sometimes I don't know what my therapist means, and then I realize I'm resisting understanding it when she explains it. Other times I just plain disagree with her. I think it is great when they challenge you though. My first one took it easy on me, because I was "nice". I liked her a lot, but I got more done in 6 months with the one who challenged me than in 2 years with the other one. Actually, I got a fair amount done with her too though. If I had had #2 FIRST, she might have just pissed me off!!!

Leens-How are you sweetie? And how is that little sweetie of yours?

Meg-How 'ya doin'?

Does anyone know why Liz is taking a break? I hope she is okay.

MrsM95 06-18-2002 05:57 PM

Hi,
I'm worn out and tired but it's the good kind. The new job started today when i told them yes i'd take it. I will have many challanges along the way but DH says he will support me 100% and help me out at home as much as possible. I know it will be hard for DD to understand why mommy is going to be gone so much but as long as we make what time i do have with her quality time i think we will make it through. Being out in the sunshine i'm sure will help me to handle my depression and hopefuly make my down days fewer and fewer, and yes i'm hoping the exercise will help with my weigh loss.

Gotta run
MrsM

ellis 06-18-2002 08:54 PM

I don't know where Liz went. I didn't want to be nosy. I hope she's okay, too. Hopefully all is fine and she's merely sick of us. :?:

MrsM, I hope that your new job turns out to be a positive experience for you. I'm sure that it will. Like Den says, you'll get more physical activity. I think that would be a great job for ANY of us lazy bums. I'm sorry it means less time with your family though. But if you're getting more money, make sure you treat yourselves to some stuff that will make life easier... frozen meals once in a while, submarines (subs are healthy!), good pampering bath stuff, renting movies... a little more than you usually allow yourself is okay when you're short on time.
And your darling daughter will be fine. You're a good mom and you've got a good supportive husband. You're way ahead of the game, sweetie.

Den, what do you mean, "Are you okay?" ?? Where have YOU been, darling?! How's your friend? I've been thinking about all of you. I hope it's not too rough. My parents are 77 this year, and while they're in very good shape, I know that I may not have that much longer with them. Not looking forward to the leaving AT ALL.
Hey, are you going away? Where on earth are you going? You're very reticent. It sounds like a good idea. I'm thinking that we should go up to my parents' cottage for a few days for a change in scenery. Everyone here is getting a LITTLE tetchy.
You're not going to believe this, (okay, maybe you are) but I ate half a bag of perogies for dinner. Cheese and potato. And I had a small bowl of Smartie icecream. (for all you dear Americans, Smarties are similar to chocolate M&M's, but they're WAY better. No offence.) And I want to eat something else. I'm losing it. And I don't mean weight.

Leens, what's up? Yeah, how's that beautiful baby Gracie?
And Meg, how's the wedding going? Where's your dress? We want to see it. Actually, if you can trust us, we'd like to see the whole wedding. :) Photos?

Breakfast trifle involves copious amounts of whipped cream, vanilla yogurt and fresh fruit of all kinds. It was okay. I should have put some liquor in it. The granola (oh yeah, I forgot to mention... there's granola in it) was kinda crunchy which was kinda weird.

I think I'm having a carbohydrate rush. I'm going to eat something bad. Just try and stop me. I'm FAT!!!!
Thank you god for keeping the weather cool so far this summer. Thank you, thank you.

dentrassi 06-18-2002 09:35 PM

Sorry, couldn't resist commenting on Ellis's "FAT" comment.

Ellis-KNOCK IT OFF RIGHT NOW YOUNG LADY!!! Besides, I'm shorter and fatter, so if you keep up the fat comments I'll start a competition....and it will NOT be pretty!!! The reason you are still hungry is because of all the carbs. So cook up a pack or two of bacon and stop with the pierogies!!! ( Are you greasier? I am practically DRIPPING with grease.) We are going to a cabin in the lower UP. I have NO idea how it will be, but it was CHEAP and has a beach nearby. I figure even if it is horrible, it will be an adventure for 2 nights, and if it is GREAT then sometime in the future (when Clark gets a FULL time job!) we can go for longer. There is also a country store nearby that sells "Hand dipped ice cream, penny candy, beef jerky and smoked fish." My yoiungest has been going around saying, "YUM, smoked fish and Ice Cream!!" which grosses out nearly everyone who hears it!! You are right about smarties. They ARE better!! Don't know why, but they are. Re the trifle-I once made one for a wedding shower. With LOTS of sherry. It was 90% F or more that day, and I had no air conditioning at the time. ONE serving and people were looped. They were happy though!!! I know what you mean about parents. I have been more concerned about mine lately too. By the way, Mom's Mom called from England this morning and woke me up!! She said, "You should wake up early you lazy madam you! Your husband spoils you!" I said, "Yes, he does." And she said, "Well, you deserve it, and tell him that I said so." Isn't that great. So of course I did. And from now on any time he tries to get me to do something I will honor my Grandmother by saying that he should spoil me!! ;) Of course I know the outcome of this. He says, "I should spank you!" I say, "Promises, promises!" and then I end up doing the work anyway!!!

Mrs. M-Glad to hear that you survived the first day! It will get easier every day (I had a pretty physical job once, and at first I thought I was going to die, but after a while it was second nature!)

(change of narrator) Hi, this is Dentrassi's husband writing now, DH to most of you. I've been invited to add a few pre-vacation pearls of wisdom, so ... here goes.
(inhale)
- Don't beat yourself up. This especially goes for Ellis, but really it applies to us all.
- Let me have your ice cream. It's the morally right thing to do, and you'll feel great about yourself once you give me your potion. Really.
- If anyone tries to start a conversation with you about textual indeterminacy, just walk the other way. Don't even engage with those people.

Well, that's the wisdom quota for one day. Live better! (wave)

ellis 06-18-2002 09:41 PM

... and thank you God for my friend, Dentrassi. Because of her, I am going to bed without eating ANYMORE carbs.
thanks, Den... you're JUST what I needed!
Have a wonderful time... you deserve it, sweetie...
talk to you when you get back...
xoxo

oh, heck. I just read DH's comments.
Thank you... you have the BEST wife, and you are the SECOND BEST husband!

ellis 06-23-2002 05:39 PM

Happy Birthday, Dentrassi!!!!
xoxo Ellis

ellis 06-23-2002 05:42 PM

It's very eery. We've only written in 189 times, but there are 1552 views of this thread.

dentrassi 06-23-2002 09:59 PM

Ellis-Thanks sweetie!!!! The reason that everyone is looking in is because we are so FABULOUS and INTERESTING. AND HUMBLE TOO!!!! Seriously, I wish people weren't so scared of us. Like I keep saying, WE HARDLY EVER BITE!!!!
DH appreciated your comments, but I think he was put out by being listed as second best!! I suggested that MAYBE you love your husband as much as I love mine, and THAT calmed him down!!! Besides, I bet YOUR DH would say that YOU are the best wife!!! Vacation was nice and relaxing, except for the mosquitos!!! I awoke both mornings to the smell of DH making bacon (YUM!!)
and I would chip in by scrambling up some onions and eggs in some of the bacon fat. EEK!! The kids sure loved it!!! I think they'd like to move up there except for the mosquitos!!!

meg 1+2 06-24-2002 07:06 PM

Happy Belated Birthday Den!!!

Was so busy with future dil's shower haven't had a chance to catch up on things here.

Hope it was a good one for you.

Hi to everyone else....hope to get back into the swing of things soon!

Have a great Tuesday all

Meg

ellis 06-24-2002 07:53 PM

Meg, the shower!!! What did you eat? Tell us!!!!

Also; Den, we are incredibly sexy. ;) THAT'S why they're here.
Don't you love it when someone else makes the bacon? I HATE making it. It takes forever, and then there's never enough. What's the point in having 2 or 4 slices? Give me half the packet or give me nothing! And NEVER give me one egg.

Okay, every time we've gone to a new psychologist/psychiatrist/etc and we've been asked, "How's your marriage?", Ellis always pipes up, "It's great! We've got the best marriage!" (which we both always agree that we do when we're at home). What does DH say? "Uh huh, it's pretty good for the most part." WHAT THE ****!!! I have to hold myself back to keep from leaping on him and choking him to death in front of the psycho. I had a LITTLE chit chat with him after the last session. He said he didn't want the psychologist to think that our marriage was perfect. PERFECT!?!? Who the **** has a perfect marriage anyhow? Gosh forbid that anyone should think anyone is too happy! Particularly when they're getting 130 bucks an hour.

My six year old is on the toilet. A fairly new experience. He's always used the potty until we got him one of those toilet seat thingys a few weeks ago. He just yelled out, "It's really annoying when you're pooing and water splashes on your bum!!" Yup, I hear ya, honey.
Geez, he's such a chatter box. Why is he talking to me non-stop when he's on the toilet!? He's driving me nuts!!! ENOUGH!!!

DH and I went for a 20 minute power walk up and down the hills today. We haven't done that for a while. It felt good, and we love doing it together... it's a great opportunity for us to converse ALONE!

We're not sure whether to stay home this coming long weekend or go up to the cottage. As much as I look forward to going to the cottage, I hate the thought of the drive on a holiday weekend. And it WOULD be nice to hang around the house for 4 days...

My daughter came home from school today and said there was hardling anyone there (last school of day is on Wednesday of this week). And apparently the teachers asked the few existing students WHY they were there. Hmmm, I guess today was her last day.

Hi all,
I hope everone is having a good day, I'm not. For the most part the new job has been ok but today i'm about as frustrated as it gets and the boss just chewed my butt and told me and i quote "that i'm smarter than the average idiot in this department and that she shouldn't have to double check my work" Well for heavens sack i'm doing things i've never done before and i'm not allowed to make mistakes   I managed to hold myself together till i got back to my office but once there i threw a few things and then set down and cried (ok i'm still crying  ) Everyone i've been working with keeps asking me whats wrong today just because i don't go around screaming and yelling all the time. It's like if i'm quiet there has to be something wrong. I'm so used to sitting in my office by myself and not talking to anyone all day and it doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me to be quiet. I had an asthma attack right after getting to work this morning so that started my day off on the wrong foot to begin with.

Hubby is making me crazy. He is having a fit because i have to be gone for 2 days to go to a training seminar in Chicago. Like i really want to go to Chicago but i have no choice. My Mother will be keeping DD since DH has never had to keep her overnight by himself so he has it easy. I'm the one who has to drive in city traffic (and i don't like it).

Sorry i guess i needed to vent a little.

Well i have to run, I'll try and come back later today.

Hugs to Mrs. M

So sorry you are having such a bad day!

What is with these bosses....mine would never talk to me like that...sounds like she needs a few more management courses...how hurtful to be spoken to like that.

It doesn't help when you aren't getting the support you need from hubby...tell him that I said so!

Hang in there...the sun will shine soon!

Liz;)

MrsM, I'm so sorry you're having a bad day.

Your boss must be a bit of a prick to speak to you so rudely. Sounds like he/she needs a lesson in human relations. Would you like us to get a petition up for you?

And what does your husband think he's going to accomplish by having a fit? Does he want you to quit your job? If going on the trip is not an option and he doesn't want you to quit or lose your job, then he'd better settle down. It's NOT your fault OR your choice. And frankly, he's pretty darned lucky that your mom is looking after your DD. This is not your problem... it's his. You don't have to put up with his ranting. Just because he's your husband (and I'm sure you love him MOST of the time!) doesn't mean he can dump his personal crap onto you.

You're stressed, you're tired, and you're being dumped on. Can you set aside a bit of time for yourself today? Do something nice for yourself... give yourself a bit of a treat.
And don't respond in kind to those idiots who are mistreating you. You don't have to lower yourself to their level. Remember that you're a good person. Smile sweetly, tell them that everything is cool, and then when they turn their backs give them the finger.

We can also sign a petition of protest against your husband's actions if you like. ;)

Keep your chin up, sweetie... you'll be okay.
xoxo

Girls,
You are just what i needed!! Thank you so much for the pick me up.

Ellis i like you way of dealing with them, I think i'll give it a try. You were right on with your description of my superior. My hubby actually calls her something much worse.

Thanks
Andrea

Sorry I haven't posted in a loooong time, I've been trying to post on the daily, since some folks like a daily thread.

DEN - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY :hb: Hope you had a huge piece of cake :)

Ellis chickie, I'm here and hangin SOSDD :D

MrsM - I would report your boss, that is no way to talk to an employee or any body for that matter. You should have told him/her that you thought he/she was smarter than the average idiot boss and should know better than to use that tone. So what she/he's saying is the employees under him/her are idiots.....man I would start trouble and tell my co workers what that *** said.........prick is to nice of a word :o I just don't know how some people grow them brass balls ????

Anyway, hope today is better for you.

Have a great one.
Love, Leens (still mad at M's boss  )

Mrs. M-Sorry to hear you had a bad day. I think Ellis has a good idea there. Once when i had to go in for a meeting at DS #2's school I made myself a special amulet. (I make jewelry.) I took a small copper hand that we use, curled all the fingers down except the middle one, drilled a hole in it, strung it on a chain, and VOILA!!! I was giving them the finger the whole time and they didn't even know it (I wore it down my shirt, being so ladylike and everything!! ) It was a help to me in terms of maintaining calm knowing that I was expressing what i felt NON-VERBALLY!!! It sounds like your husband needs to be more supportive. Would he rather that you quit your job? Would you rather quit your job? How bad is your asthma, and could your doctor write a note indicating that you shouldn't be doing outdoor heavy labor (think workers comp until you find another office job.) If you need or want to keep that job, then your husband needs to understand that HE needs to step up and take up some of the slack. If I remember, he SAID he was going to help more, didn't he? I know, I'm being a know it all tonight. If your boss makes this a habit though, I'd say get out if you can. DH put up with crappy treatment for almost 20 years, and even though money is tighter now, I'm glad he left to do something different, "cause he is happier now!!!

Leens-Hiya!!! How is everything with YOU? Good i hope!!!

Meg-DETAILS!!! What did your dress look like, what was on the menu, how did the shower go?

Liz-WELCOME BACK!!!! Hope everything is okay with you!!

Ellis-Yes, we ARE sexy, and I think it all has to do with........BACON!!!!
