Hi all!
Den darling, are you alright? We miss you... you're our stabilizer. Please let us know how you're doing when you have a minute.... we're worried about you... lots of love and hugs ellis |
Hi All!!
It has been a CRAPPY day!!! We took DS #2 to the doctor, and it is another virus so there is nothing they can do. LUCKILY we got an intern who has never seen him before, who thinks his frequent colds and sinus infections are due to a lowered immune system because of his allergies. I say luckily, because they keep testing him and saying he is not allergic, and I KNOW he is!!! My Dad is allergic to molds that are NOT in the test mold sample, so he shows up negative too. ANYWAY, unless he gets worse over night he IS going to Toronto tomorrow. I just hope he gets some sleep on the bus!!! Okay, now for the BAD stuff: he has been having problems at school. His grades have been all over the place this year, and I THOUGHT he was back on track. WRONG!! We haven't been as diligent about checking his planner, and just found out he has been lying to us about his homework, and his grades have gone into the toilet again. I am SO disappointed right now that I almost said he couldn't go on the trip tomorrow. Because this is one of the few school things he has been excited about, we decided to separate the punishment, and we are going to cut him off computer and video games for a while, and NO getting together with friends on school days, since he was lying about the amount of homework he had in order to visit. I was going to go to work today, but i never got there because of dealing with all this stuff. I'll be more sociable tomorrow!!! |
Den darling, you are going to be alright. (see Buddy Up ALTC forum for more support so I don't have to cut and paste). Don't let this overwhelm you... you'll only make YOURSELF ill, and you can't afford to do that. This whole episode is going to turn out for the best. DS#2 is going to get onto a good schedule again with homework and you're going to have more time to communicate with each other. We slipped into the same trap with our daughter. It's a pretty common mistake. Because they have "problems" you let them socialize more, play more, etc because you want to overcompensate for their woes. Our psychologist said to us last week, "Remember... YOU are STILL the parent. You love them and support them, but YOU are in charge, and must do what is best for THEM. And that means not letting them do everything that they want to do."
Think good thoughts and turn this into a POSITIVE thing. "Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: "I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." " Groucho Marx (****, the man was a sexist, but it's a good quote.) Leens, have a great weekend! We want to see those pics! MrsM, have fun in your beautiful camper with your wonderful family! Den, keep your chin up, sweetie. All is well. Hi Meg  ellis |
Good Morning Everyone!! :spin:
I hope everyone is having a MARVOLOUS day. Den - Keep your chin up and know that we are always here if you need a shoulder to lean on. I am so looking forward to this weekend. The only thing we have to do before we can leave this evening is put our cloths in the camper and we will be ready to go. I am so excited:jig: Well i better get some work done today. Talk to you all later MrsM:wave: PS - Den here is a little angel so you know we are thinking about you  |
hello all! Didn't realize all the fun was over here rather than the daily! I am playing hooky today...completely 'spent'...need to recuperate...too much stress, not enough sleep or exercise...feel guilty but that is what the very, very occassional sick day is for....still don't feel I am entitled for it has taken me an hour and I still haven't called in...there I just called:o ...anyhow, hoping that this is the beginning of my life slowing down and getting back on track with housework, garden and walking.....happy friday all! Liz
|
Hi Liz... welcome!!!
I'm glad SOMEONE thinks we're fun. Sounds like you're having a much-needed break. Good for you! Isn't it great when we can actually admit to ourselves that, yes... we need to do some things for US!!? Do you have weight to lose? (trick question) And you walk, and you work, and you garden and do housework... what else? How's the weather in Edmonton? My garden is looking divine! We had a big thunderstorm last night... it woke me up. I LOVE thunderstorms!! They're so dramatic. And the rain is continuing today, so my garden is finally getting a good soaking. I've set up my sun tent/canopy thingy, got all my houseplants grouped in one corner (they're VERY happy to be outside!) and our lawn furniture cunningly arranged. I just have to get my new hammock set up. We bought a case of Corona last night (not a regular occurance, so it's a big treat, believe me!). All I need now is my hammock, a blanket and pillow, and my book. Life is good today. (knock on wood) talk later... hello all... ellis |
Hi Again
Hi Liz:wave: it's nice to get to play hookie once in a while and just take care of one's self. I hope you enjoy your day off. Ellis - Sounds like your set for the weekend. Hmmm I may just have to add a hammock to the list of things we need when we go camping, sounds really relaxing. My day just keeps getting better. I just figured out a problem i had been trying to fix and hubby called to tell me he got he guttering to go on our deck for FREE and that he won't have to go away on business Fatherday weekend. He has had to be gone that weekend the last 2 years and was supposed to this year but they cancelled his training seminar (YIPEEEE!!!!). Well i better get back to work. Talk to you all later MrsM:cool:  |
Hi Girlies,
LIZ !!!!! are you telling me that the daily is NO FUN  ROFLMFAO okay lady we get the picture  Den, hope your up to snuff soon, you have my email if you wanna talk :) MrsM can I go with you, I don't take up that much room (YEAH RIGHT LOL). Ellis baby I love Groucho, he was so ugly he was cute if you know what I mean, kinda like the cabbage patch kids. Have a Blessed Weekend Ladies, Love, Leens :dizzy: |
HI ALL!!!
I'm doing better now, but not looking forward to what I'm going to be up against with DS #2. We went to a birthday party today, and I had to say no to him spending the night at his friend's house afterwards. He is still too sick anyway, but he is tied to the house until he is caught up. Going to the birthday party was the break for the weekend!! (Didn't want to disappoint the birthday boy too. Our son was the only friend invited. The rest were family members!!) I overate at the party. They made homemade french fries just the way I like 'em. AARRGGHH!! I thought I would be able to stay away, but I didn't. I know it was emotional eating, and now I feel fat and horrible about eating them. They sure were good though! Mrs. M-WOW!!! The camper sure looks nice! I like going tent camping, but right now i think the camper looks better!!! No sore rear end in the morning! Leens-SAY HI TO RUTH!!! I hope you have fun. I'd like to meet ALL of you some day!! Ellis-Funny about you buying Corona....we try to buy Canadian beer, 'cause it is better than most US brews, and lower priced than all the fancy micro-brewery stuff!!! THAT is the benefit to living in Michigan!!! Sometimes Labatt's and Molson are cheaper than US brands!!! (and sometimes we can find IPA!!!) Have you ever tried Dos Equis? That is a really good mexican beer too! Meg and Liz-WELCOME ABOARD!!!! The more the merrier, except when we are depressed, and then it is MISERY LOVES COMPANY!!!! By the way everyone-THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE SUPPORT! It really means a lot to me. |
Thanks Den,
So true, we do like the company!!!! If only we all had the solutions...LOL Hang in there, we're all here for the ride~~~~~~~Meg |
Hello darlings
Meg, are you joining us? Welcome!! Who/what/where are you? What's 1+2? One child/first marriage, two children/second marriage? You're living with 2 men? 2 women? One real job, two moon-lighting? One cat, two dogs? Tell us all! MrsM, sounds like you're on a GOOD roll!! Free guttering!! I'm glad things are going well. I hope you're having a great time camping... Leens, you too... I hope you're having a great weekend with the girls... hurry back and tell us all about it. Den, I'm glad that things are getting better. I know it'll be a tough haul with DS#2, but you can do it!! You're a good wife and mom, you're "nice", you're intelligent, and you're well educated. You've got all the tools. (okay, a million bucks would be nice, too, heh heh) Just make sure you look after YOURSELF, first. You're no good to anyone if you're feeling like crap. Did your friends make those french fries just for you, or are they EVERYONES favourite food there? Dos Equis? I'll look for it, thanks. I'm actually not a beer lover. Corona and Indian pale ale are about all I can stomach without shuddering. It's funny about American beer... I wonder why it's "not as good" as Canadian beer. For the most part, everything you do is better than us. Okay everyone... let's do well with our eating today!!! And a little exercise wouldn't hurt, either. At least a brisk, 10 minute walk... come on!!! xoxo ellis |
Thanks Ellis,
Actually I wish I could tell you a juicy story but the truth is; the 1+2 thing happened when Suzanne was playing with the website. A year and a half ago I registered as Meg, then one night I couldn't get in so I added the 1 and the same thing happened again, so I added the 2. Aren't you sorry you asked???? LOL I am married (I'm ONE of the old ladies in the group) 31 years, to a guy, and have four grown children and two beautiful grandchildren. Have been around in chat for about 1.5 years and have made some nice friends here. It is pouring here again...how depressing is that???? Well, must go and do the dreaded laundry. That's even more depressing  Have a great day~~~~~~~~~~~Meg |
Good weekend all! It has been a great one for me! I needed it. I took the whole weekend off with my family and am off until Thursday to get things done. I got my front garden in...amazing! I got some exercise in...amazing! I invited people over tonight, so that means I have to clean my house....amazing! So it is all good and I am just amazing:dizzy:
Anyhow wanted to say hi to you all! Been reading all your posts, but have been to amazing to get my butt in the chair and say hello, so here I am! Have a great rest of the weekend! Liz:wave:   |
Liz,
I only have one thing to say to you....Amazing:) Really glad you are having an amazing time and enjoying all the things that make you happy !!! See you later~~~~~~~Meg |
Meggers you rock!:dizzy: Liz
|
Good Morning Kids,
I posted how the 3FC's meeting went this weekend on the LC boards, it was a blast ! I wish we could do it again. Whats new ? nothing else here. The weather is just beautiful today, wish I was home, outside enjoying it :( but since things are going well, I'm healthy and alive, I really shouldn't complain   I'm sorry if I don't get a chance to catch up on all the posts so forgive me if I don't respond to each one. Some day I'll get the time uhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Den ? Ellis ? MrsM ? you guys okay ??? Meggie poo how's the wedding plans going ? Liz you nut, its about time you planted that garden  Glad you had a good weekend. TTYL, Love Leens :dizzy: |
hey girlies....
Leens, I'm so glad you had such a good time! Despite her foul mouth, isn't Ruth such a sweetie? Meg... who's getting married? One of your children? You've been married 31 years? That's great! Happily, I hope. :) Liz, you're doing ummm, amazingly well with your exercise. Good for you! I've been gardening, too. My garden is looking fantastic. I wish I could say the same for the house. DH decided to have a water pistol fight with the children and their friends yesterday. They kept coming inside to refill their pistols, and the floor is all muddy!! curses. MrsM, I think you're still camping. Do you have a tv in that beautiful trailor? It's funny, I HATE watching TV, but when we're camping I always have a strong urge to watch it. Den, it's Monday. Are you kicking butt? Are you anxious/depressed/fed up? This is the start of the new regime for DS#2, right? I'm a little anxious, myself. My DD is supposed to stay after school today to get help with her French science class. This particular teacher; who is so concerned with my daughter's poor mark that she has been sending nasty notes and phonecalls home, only offers extra help once a week. The past two weeks she's had "personal stuff to deal with", and couldn't make it. If she dares to send my daughter home again without help this week, there's going to be **** to pay. School is almost over for crying out loud!! Oh, one more *****. Our insurance barely covers the psychology bill after all. I think they pay 20 bucks out of the 130 bucks per hour. Great! I know it's worth it, and I don't begrudge it AT ALL, but why can't psychology be taken seriously? Insurance companies would rather pay full whack for a psychiatrist, who is completely useless as far as WE'RE concerned. (particularly the ones I'VE come in contact with!) All they do is dole out pills... they don't offer any life skills!! Well, enought griping. It's a beautiful, cool, sunny day. Perfect for us fat people who would prefer NOT to wear skimpy clothes. I've got jeans and a sweater on, and I feel very cozy. Have a great day everyone! |
Hi everyone,
I'm back from my camping trip. We had a fairly good time but wish i would of been able to stay a little longer (but isn't it always that way). I would love to go home and try and start this day over. I swear everything i touch turns to s**t this morning. First thing off my DH tells me the hard drive went out of our home computer about midnight last night and that he doesn't have hardcopies of all his business records that are on it and I discovered my scales had been broken. Nothing like stepping on the scales this morning and it reading that I had gained 5 pounds over the weekend so i stepped off and got back on it and it weighted heavier than i did the first time so i tried it again and this time it dropped down to less than the first time (DD thinks they are neat for jumping on) so it looks like i will be replacing those. Then i get to work this morning and my office computer acts up but thankfully its ok now. My boss tells me a project that i spent most of last week working on wasn't even close to right when he got out in the field (I do drawings for an environmental engineer), the problem wasn't my fault, someone didn't send us accurate blue prints but it is still frustrating. .   (we need one of these little guys that screams.) I am trying to hold it together today and hope that my mood stays intact. I would hate do undo all that relaxation from the weekend. I keep telling myself that life gets better and that I shouldn't let it get me down Ellis you bet we have a TV & a VCR in the camper. There is now way i would take DD without it. She seems to think she has to watch her cartoons or it is the end of the world. Leens - glad your visit went well. Meg - married for 31 years WOW!! Ok i guess it's time for me to do something that i'm getting paid for. I hope everyone has a good day and mine is going to get better. MrsM PS - I feel much better now. |
Hi Everyone!!!
Mrs. M-Sounds like you are having a BAD day!!! Hope things calm down for you. I can COMPLETELY relate. Some days it is better to just go back to bed!!! Glad to hear the camping trip went well. That sounds like so much fun!!! I used to sneer at non-tent campers in my youth, but the older I get the less I enjoy waking up stiff and cold!!! Leens-Glad to hear you had such a good time!!! I'll definitely be going over to LC to see how it all went!!! Liz-It is AMAZINGLY amazing to see you here, and so amazingly jolly!!! Amazingly, I am actually starting to feel better!!!! Are you amazed? Ellis-One of DS's teachers is like that too. Hubby went in there to straighten things out, and told her DS didn't understand one of the assignments. Her response, "I don't know how to explain it any more clearly." THEN DON'T TEACH!!!!! His other teachers are all pretty good though. He is getting caught up, but still has a way to go. He finished the two science assignments, 4 English assignments, and about 8 math assignments. He is still behind in math though. We went to an honors assembly at the high school (DS #1 made principal's list.) and then went to DS#2's therapy session to talk about his messing up in school. THE FUN NEVER STOPS!!! RE: medical plans and psychologists.....the only psychologist I have seen since I started this whole process is my Dad. They won't pay for qualified therapists, but they'll patch you up after you slit your wrists!!! (SEE-I"M GETTING MORBID AGAIN!!!) Meg-31 years!! That's great. I've been married 20 years, and my kids (boys) are 15 and 12. They are great kids, except when they aren't!!!! You SAY you are one of ther older ladies, but I want to know how old. The last person who claimed that turned out to be a 15 year old boy. Am I right Ellis? TTFN!!!! |
Den?
|
Well Den,
I am a few months away from the dreaded 50!!!!!!!! So you see, I am old!!!! But still kicking. And no, I am not a boy! My children are 30, 29, 27, and 25 I have two beautiful grandchildren 5 and 3. My youngest son is getting married in August to a lovely girl and I am agonizing over buying a dress. They just don't make beautiful tents!!!! I hope this is ample information. If not let me know     Have a good one~~~~Meg |
good morning darlings,
49, Meg? Holy, that's not old!!!!! Wow, you've really packed it in with the kids/grandkids... what a wonderful family! And how nice that you think your son is marrying a "lovely girl". If my children marry, I'm determined to be a fantastically supportive mother-in-law. Non-judgemental, no prying, no "dropping in", etc. In fact, the complete opposite of my own mother-in-law. How much do you weigh, Meg? How about wearing a dress with one of those "one button sheer dusters" over it? Do you know what I mean? Check out this one... it's on the Spring 2002 page, and it's the thingy that the lovely black girl with short hair is wearing... http://eileenfisher.com/ Den, I'm glad to hear that DS#2 is getting back on track. Congratulations to DS#1!! Way to go!! Uh huh... "the patch up job". I agree. Wouldn't it be a heck of a lot cheaper all around if they'd use PREVENTATIVE measures? You're not morbid, you're RIGHT!! I used to sneer at those big trailers, too. heh heh. Not any more! Now I wistfully peer in their windows at night before heading back to my sagging tent. They're in there... sipping their refridgerated drinks, watching a movie while sitting on a cushioned couch, completely clean because they've just had a shower in their bathroom... And they know that if they have to pee in the middle of night that there's no problem. They don't have to lie there for an hour... hoping the pain will go away before finally dragging themselves out of bed (ha! BED! I mean the sleeping bag on the ground!), putting on shoes, a jacket, finding a flashlight, unzipping the tent (pray to god the zipper doesn't get stuck... always keep a utility knife in the tent for emergencies such as this), checking the perimeter for bears, skunks and mad rapists, and then stumbling up to the outhouse/toilets, accidentally peeing on your pj leg once you get there because you're trying to balance the flashlight whilst gripping the utility knife between your teeth (protective measure against bears, etc), and then stumbling back to "bed", where you can't get back to sleep because: you're shivering violently from the cold, your pyjama leg is wet with pee, your sleeping bag is full of sand, and your bladder doesn't empty itself properly and you have to pee again. MrsM, are you alright? I'm sorry you've had a bad time since getting back. Think postive, okay? You've got a lot going for you. The scales are broken? What's the worst that could happen... you buy a new set. Don't let all that crap get you down. You're tall, you're beautiful, you've got a wonderful husband and daughter, you've got a camper with a toilet, tv and vcr... ****, life is GOOD!! Let go of the bad thoughts, sweetie... they add up too darned fast. We love you! :) Leens, how's that new van? And darling baby Gracie? Liz, I hope you're having a great week off! talk to you later... |
Hi Ladies,
Meg dear, call up Roamans and Lane Bryant and get their catalogs, Roamans has beautiful tents, honest, I buy from there and some times they have up to a size 5X. I noticed in the stores they have icky stuff. I get alot of stuff from Roamans, they have elegent stuff. WWW.ROAMANS.COM.......even their websites don't have all the pretty stuff they sell. Ellis, Den, MrsM.....what can I say. I'm still here, fat as ever, can't stop gaining weight sigh~ Gracie is doing great thank you !! Okay nuff said. Have a wonderful day. Love, Leens :dizzy: |
I need a dress for friday eve...will have to go to the shops today....never fun when you are not a size you want to be..I empathize meg! Liz
|
Oh curses... I've been looking at some of those apparel sites for fat chicks. The clothes are lovely, but I don't want to look like them!!! I want to be slim!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
|
Hi Everyone,
Yesterday was pretty much a total disaster for me . Found out that the hard drive in my computer at home is officially toast but on the brighter side we found out that we had 3 years of warranty on our computer not 2 and it won't be 3 years old till next month. Hubby spent most of the evening on the phone with tech support and finally convinced them to send us a new hard drive. I spent 2 hours last night trying to get DD to bed and she just wouldn't go, I had a severe headache last night and it's not unusual for her to not want to leave my side and just didn't understand that when she went to bed i was going to go to bed as well. I was so frustrated because hubby was getting angery with her and the madder he got the more upset she got. After i finally got her down all i could do was just sit down and  I know the problems i am having are so trivial compared to what some of you are going through but talking about it helps. I don't really call what we do camping, I like to think of it as quality family time which i think we need a lot more of. Well i better get to work. MrsM |
(((((((((((((((Mrs. M)))))))))))
Been there! Liz |
Yes Ellis,
I have a wonderful family! Three boys and one girl. We are all very close although they all have very busy careers and whatever. We keep in touch on a daily basis and make sure we see each other a couple times a month if not more. My children get together every week, whether it's golfing, going to dinner or just hanging out they are always together. So it's a nice feeling knowing that they are each others best friends. I will check out that site you sent, thank you! As far as how much I weigh, well LOL LOL I know I told you to ask me anything but....:D I'll give you a hint, I am looking at 16/18 size dresses, mostly 18  Just having fun with you. Have a great day everyone~~~Meg |
HI EVERYONE!!!!
Meg-You have what I want!!! I keep saying "If they like me again when they are grown up I will be happy!" Okay, I exaggerate, but the 12 year old loves me one day and says i am mean the next!!! The 15 year old just doesn't want me to embarass him. About the personal information....I need to know if you have attached earlobes or the dangley kind....(joke) I KNEW you were exaggerating about your age!!! I am about to turn 44, so you are only 6 years older than me. I think Ellis is about 6 years younger than me, so if you are old, then I am too!!! And I am not ready for that, so YOU CAN"T BE OLD YET!!! You have to admit that my logic is impeccable. We are ALL young and gorgeous here. Mrs. M-I agree with Liz....BEEN THERE!!! My hubby is USUALLY patient, but sometimes he gets mad like that too. (heck, sometimes I do!!) You see your child getting more upset, and know that that will make your hubby angrier, and you know that THEN your child will cry even more. You feel frustrated that your husband is making it worse, but you understand his anger, because you wish that your baby would go to sleep too. You feel pulled in two directions, and wish they'd BOTH be quiet, and you wonder why it is always YOU who has to mediate and stay calm. Am I close? I have spent a lot of nights crying after getting the boys to bed too. I don't have that problem so much now that they are older, but new problems come along to take their place!! Liz-I hate shopping too. I don't much like the mirrors in the stores. They add 100 pounds!!! (At least that is MY experience. I KNOW that woman in there can't be ME!!) I like some of WE BE BOP's clothes. some of them are too patchy looking for me, but some of them are funky looking, and fun. Ellis-I only have ONE thing to add to your camping scenario. On top of everything else, you are having your period. Seems like I usually am when we are camping, and it is NOT fun. That is one good thing about being on the progesterone. I have to keep track of the 10 days a month that i take the progesterone, and I know my period starts 2 or 3 days afterwards. Somewhere you asked if anyone was menstruating right now, and yes I am, but I am at the end of it. I thought women's periods were only supposed to co-ordinate when they were physically near!!! |
Bon giorno!
huh. No one here is old! I'm not sure what old IS. I keep having to redefine it. My parents are 77, and they're NOT old! They have a few physical ailments (don't we all?), but for the most part they're fit, active, very attractive and very cool. Wow Meg... you talk to your children everyday!? That's wonderful. It sounds as though you have a very loving family. I'm determined to be happy in myself, no matter how much my children may love/hate me when they grow up. But I really hope for a relationship like yours. My mother used to call me up to 6 times a day (mostly to dump on me), which I must admit drove me RIGHT up the wall!! But she's managed to get a grip on life, and now we talk about 5 times a week. Much more managable from MY point of view. Particularly considering I'M the one on drugs for depression. I'm seriously considering getting or sewing a few of those "dusters" for MYSELF! They look quite lovely, and they'd cover a heck of a lot of bum and hips. They could be worn with pants, too. If only my upper arms weren't so fat... Leens, what are we going to do... we're just NOT losing weight! Liz, have you found a dress for Friday yet? What a bother! Good LUCK!! MrsM, your problems aren't trivial at all. It's all relative. We all have a physical/mental limit at which we just can't take any more crap!! Do you ever sleep with DD? I know it's not a good idea, but occasionally if my six year old is having a bit of a rough time I'll let him sleep with us. Sometimes it's just easier than being kept up/woken up repeatedly during the night. I need my sleep!! And sometimes he just needs a bit of comfort. And I hate to generalize, but yes, it seems that it's usually the mother doing much of the nurturing... particularly at night. I have the most wonderful husband, but I secretly think that all men are aliens. And as far as I'm concerned, you're camping!! I don't know what we're trying to prove to ourselves... living in the bush, cooking over an open fire, sleeping on the ground. We must be nuts!! Really, all we need is some time away from home, right? Like you said, quality time with the family. We don't have to be Neanderthals to do it!! Den, how could I forget the dreaded period? Yup, I'm on my last day today. We're right on schedule. It really scares some men to know that friends will go onto the same cycle. We woman are POWERFUL!! You're right... I always seem to have mine when we're camping, too. DD is seeing the psychologist today. I'm going next week. I just hope I can keep the thought of $130 per hour out of my head while I'm there. Well, it's been almost a week since I've had chips. I've been making up for by eating bridge mixture, but one thing at a time, right? And I've been exercising regularly. And I've gained 2 pounds. sigh. Must be muscle, right? :?: take care all... |
I DUNNO WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO WAAAAAAAAAH !
|
Morning All,
Den - you nailed it right on the head, it is just so frustrating. It makes me feel SOOOOOOOOOOO much better knowing that i'm not the only one who has had to deal with this. Thank You. Ellis - The only time DD is allowed to sleep with us is when she gets up in the middle of the night and has trouble getting back to sleep. Some people think i spoil her but i still rock her to sleep most nights. I find it very soothing for the both of us. If she doesn't want to rock i usually lay down with her in her bed until she goes to sleep (ok so sometimes i fall asleep first and hubby had to wake me up to get in my own bed :D ). Meg - Good luck with the dress hunt, i'm sure you will find something absolutely wonderfull. Liz - Thank You I'm feeling really drained today but i'm trying to hang in there. I'm hoping it's the weather that's making me feel this way (it's really humid and looks like rain) and not the start of another downward spiral. Thank You Everyone. MrsM |
Hey! Where is everyone?!
Are you all secretly stuffing your faces like I am? MrsM, I hope you're getting caught up on your rest. That's so beautiful that you still rock DD to sleep at night. I give up... I'm going to have a small bag of chips as a treat everyday, and eat well the rest of the day. I did that one summer and lost 25 pounds. I just can't give up my chips... I eat too much of everything else if I do. It's a lovely day but I'm irritable because I have to go the theatre tonight with friends. Which means I'll spend all day frantically searching for something to wear. aaaaaaaaaaaaargh! later darlings ellis |
Hey Ellis,
I have that same affliction!!! Panic!!!!! Even if I plan one hour before I go out, I get into a frenzy finding something to wear. I love going out, but the thought of dressing ruins my whole evening or day, especially if it's HOT. You should see my dressing room when I get done...nothing left in closet, eveything is thrown all over the place. And it's the same darn stuff, so why do I think it's going to look any different everytime I try it on??????? Once I get there I calm down...and you will too, have a lovely time and try to remember (like I try to do) beauty comes from within. Easier said than done for some of us. Eat those (few) chips if you need to. But just compensate for them. Might be the fix you need LOL Have a great time at the theatre...what are you going to see? Everyone else have a wonderful day, I'm off to the dentist. OUCH!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Meg |
All set!
Got my outfit for tonight....will get hubby to take a pic and if I can figure it out will post...skirt, top and black blazar or antique sweater.....got nails polished and hair washed ....now I just need a nap!
Hope you are all having a great day! I know what you guys mean about how we look affecting how we feel about ourselves when we go out...it is only human and know for a fact even the fit feel that way.... Didn't weigh in today....but getting back on track! Bye for now Liz |
hello everyone!
I found something to wear last night that I was quite comfortable in. A pair of nice jeans, a black shirt, and a long black waistcoat. And I painted my toenails blue (thank you, DD) and wore my Birkenstocks. I was one of the youngest and thinnest there (you know these little theatres... lot's of elderly fat people who want a night out and end up snoozing through the play), so I felt pretty good. I could really feel those rolls of fat hiding under my waistcoat, though. Yes, Meg... that's exactly how my dressing room looks right now. There are clothes strewn all over the floor. None of which fit me. Like you, I keep trying on the same darned stuff over and over. I don't know what we're expecting... some sort of miracle I suppose. It didn't fit me LAST year, but maybe it'll fit me TODAY! HA!! At least it wasn't hot... you're right... that is the WORST!!! I have nothing for hot weather that doesn't look like a flowing tent. My closet is FULL of clothes. Really nice clothes. You know how "they" say, "If it doesn't fit, get rid of it."? Forget that!! I've got hundreds of items of good, classic, flattering clothes that I KNOW I'm going to get into again. And I've got about 3 reasonable looking "fat outfits", and dozen of ugly "fat outfits" (not fit to be seen out in outside the backyard). I think I'm one of those people who still can't believe they're fat. I refuse to accept it, and I refuse to buy a closet full of "nice-looking" fat clothes. What did we see? Ummm, it was a Neil Simon... Rumors. Not good acting at all, but I had two glasses of wine and a heavy meal inside me, and I had a few hysterical giggles. Liz, I'm glad you found an outfit (sounds lovely) and that you're back on track. We'd love to see a photo! I know what you mean about even the fit people feeling uncomfortable. I've promised myself that if I'm ever fit again that I am NOT going to take it for granted! I will feel good!! Meg, I hope the trip to the dentist went well. MrsM and Leens, are you doing alright? Den, how's little DS doing? I just can't wait for the school year to be over! Oh, the stress... have a wonderful weekend, all... xoxo ellis |
Hi everyone,
Ellis...my husband thinks I am the only nut case around. He walks out of the room shaking his head when I am trying to find something to wear. If I ask him if it looks ok he says "yes", then he goes down stairs and about a hour later I come down with something else on and he asks, "why did you bother asking"? I think he's getting used to it!! Glad to hear your evening went well...we always seem to enjoy ourselves once we are there. Too bad we make llives so miserable for ourselves in the intrum. Liz, you hotty, you better send those pictures :o Hope everyone has a spendid Sunday!!~~~~Meg |
