Talking Weekly Chat Feb. 25th - March 2nd

Wow can u believe this month is almost over already??

Good Monday (Blech) Morning!!

Back to work for me tonight....... Yippee. DH told me some interesting news about one of the dayshift girls on my team, she is leaving, not only the co. but she is moving to NYC!! I say WTG for her!! Not sure why, if she got a job, if she is going to college, or what, but I wish her luck. Now I am worried though that our "tightwad" boss won't back fill her position and that means A LOT more work for us and we are already over-loaded as it is. Maybe I'll find out more tonight when I go in. So "Stay Tuned!!!" lol.

Well after I did so well exercising, it totally wiped me out and I didn't do much the last two nights. Didn't do any cardio or even the crazy ab lady. lol. Hope -- how strange is that? Us doing the exact same exercise program?? lol. This chicks name was Amy something or other I think. I thought she was a complete crazy lady but I could "feel" it working. lol. I am thinking of trying the Billy Blaine Taebo ones too, heard it is fun and is great exercise.

So nothing exciting going on here. DH brought an apt. guide home, so not sure if we will "settle" for another apt, or what. I told him though that if we do go that route, I want an UPDATED and energy efficient apt and if possible closer to work. I am not compromising either because I refuse to go to one crappy apt to another one. lol. The main concern is energy efficiency though. Our current Utility bill is over $200 for a 2 bedroom apt. Totally ridiculous if you ask me. Esp when my in-laws who have a 3 bedroom ranch HOUSE pay less than that or equilivant because all our utilities are lumped into one, water, electric, trash and sewage. That just is so ridiculous!!! And we have lived in a few apts before this one and so we know that this is not normal. We've had our apt checked out a number of times and they say its normal. The problem is that the town we live in has their own utilities and you have no choice in that matter. (Another reason to move)

Anywho, enough about our apt. woh's. lol. I think we are supposed to have a "heat wave" today and get up to 45 degrees!!! lol. I think I should break out the shorts!!! lol. I am so ready for spring. This drab weather just makes you feel drab. lol. At least it does me. lol.

Have you all ever heard of the "Evolution Diet?" I saw the last half of a show talking about it and the people on it did so well with lowering cholesterol and all, but they said the "side effects" of it can be um disruptive. Basically you need to make sure you are close to a restroom. I can see it now. Me at work talking on the phone and say, "oooo can u hold???" and running to the bathroom!!! Ok I shouldn't make fun of it but it just caught me as funny. I am sure its a very great diet and all, just definitely not for me. lol.

Also they had on there about eating raw garlic is supposed to help um how can I say this? Assist men w/ certain functions?? They said that the main cause is from Cholesterol build up? I have never heard of that before, esp for that "area"? Amazing what you learn. lol. Sorry don't mean to be crude or anything but I was kinda amazed on that little fact. lol. But for this to work the men have to eat 4 cloves of raw garlic a day??? Wow that is a lot of garlic!!! lol.

Anyways, enough on the Sassy Health Hr. lol. What can I say nothing else was on and I was looking at the apt. guide while it was on. lol.

Question has your taste in movies or music drastically changed as you got older? I am finding that mine is. At least movies. I used to be a huge Horror Flick buff and now I like the Romantic Comedies a lot better. DH bought me Saw IV and I really have no interest in seeing it and the last 3 I really wanted to see. Very strange. and with music I cannot hardly tolerate certain rap music anymore, nothing against it, just I cannot tolerate it anymore where as before it didn't really bother me, now if it comes on I have to change the station. I just think I'm getting old. lol. No other real explanation that I can think of. lol.

Well I guess that is enough of a "Sassy Novel" for now. lol.

Take Care!!!

I can't stay long right now but had to say: I saw that same show last night Sassy with the garlic, etc.! Hadn't heard of that 'problem' either but it makes sense I guess.

I watched part of the Taebo workout to see if I thought I could do it since I'm just starting out and it's really fast-paced. I'd probably have to just dial 911 before I start to be on the safe side.

Also, I used to listen mainly to rap in college in the early 90's and yes, my tolerance for it has greatly diminished. Some of it I still enjoy but sometimes I'm like "OMG, Shut Up".

Just popping in to say Hi!

Not doing so good here at the moment. Anxiety is really bad. Talk about making mountains out of imaginary mole hills. Anyway, I feel like I'm hanging on by a thread and at my wits end. Not sure what I'm doing, but hopefully this will pass soon.

Take care all,
K

Morning ladies!

Purplepansy! &
whitlock! I look forward to getting to know you better!

Can't stay long - have my interview this phone interview for school this afternoon!

I read a funny card this weekend that I want to share: "Sometimes life gives you lemons, and you make lemonade; Of course, sometimes life pulls your pants down, runs an electric sander over your naked butt and then squeezes lemon juice on your abraded skin, in which case a cool citrus beverage really won't help, but you have to hang in there anyway!" I thought you all might appreciate it!

Buddly - 'nough said. Take care, and I hope this passes soon.

Kim - congrats on your loss! WTG!

Hope, Sassy, Leenie, Heather, Cathy, and everyone else I am thinking of you, take care!

LOL Me Amarie you've got me laughing. where in the world did you find such a card?!?!? cute!

Hey Buddly - I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time with anxiety. I hope it passes quickly!

Hey Hope - I tried following a Taebo video once and I felt so uncoordinated LOL to me it's something I would have to do over and over and over again before I could even begin to follow the steps. I didn't want to concentrate that hard just to exercise I can walk without using too many brain cells

Hey Sassy - I really can't say my tastes have changed all that much in movies or music. I guess I've always been an "old soul" and have always liked good clean movies and positive music. I've never been able to watch a horror film. I do enjoy a good suspenseful movie but not horror like the Saw movies. I can't even watch the trailers for those things - they really bother me - and then I wonder why it doesn't bother everybody else. I've NEVER liked rap music - not even Christian rap - so I guess my tastes have stayed the same. I'm with you - I like romantic comedies, and Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and superhero movies like Spiderman and Superman. I'm the only gal at my house

well gang I'm counting down to Saturday when I leave for Hawaii with my sister I still can't believe I'm going. I've never even flown before.

ok well my dryer is buzzing again. I better get with it.

hope everybody is having a good nite
hugs,
cathy

Cool Hi Chicks.

Hello all.

Hope -- lol. I probably will have to dial 911 too if I try the Taebo, but I do wanna at least give it a shot. Figure I will "try out a few" until I find some that I feel comfortable with. Well at least I wasn't the only one watching that show. lol. Yeah there is still a few (very few) of rap that I can stand, but most I am like you said, "omg just shut up already." lol.

Buddly -- Extra I sure hope it passes hon, feel free to PM me if you want my email or IM if you wanna chat off of here.

Amarie -- I would love to find that card!!!

Cathy -- I never liked horror flicks until I was older. They used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid. lol. And my cousin, who is a year older than me, loved them so I always ended up watching them with her and freaking out when it was time for bed. lol. Now I just don't get "into" them anymore, at least the ones like Saw. I am with you, I do like the suspense movies, I love the ones that keep you on the edge of your seat!! I have seen all the Star Wars, as my DH is a fan, didn't get into Lord of the Rings, but DH is a fan. Wow have a great time in Hawaii!!! I have never flown before either, I hope it goes smoothly for ya!!! DH & I are trying to decide where to go on our vacation in September. Its between: Vegas, Washington D.C. and Savannah. We are kinda leaning towards Savannah because we could drive there and stop whenever and wherever we want. Maybe even see Paula Deen!!!

Hi girls,

We went to the movies and out to dinner tonight. I had a free pass to a sneak preview of Will Ferrell's new movie. It was stupid of course, but a little better than what I thought it would be. My friend has another pass for 'The Other Boleyn Girl' on Wednesday. I hope it's good.

I got a workout in before we left. I did a couple of "The Firm" workouts on cable. They incorporate cardio and strength training which I like. I always get faster results when I combine the two. I may try the Tae Bo tomorrow. I'm feeling brave. Did you try it yet Sassy?

As for horror movies, I've always been a big chicken! I do like sci-fi, chick flicks, and generally see the block-busters. I also like the more thought provoking complicated films, I'm just sometimes too lazy to watch them.

Amarie: Let us know how the interview went today.

Buddly: Anxiety can be the worst! The last big episode of it I had was right before I quit my job last year. It will take you out of commission. Just try to relax, take some hot baths and anything else you can think of to calm yourself. We are thinking of you!

Cathy: I have always wanted to go to Hawaii. I hope you have a blast. Flying isn't bad, but if you have any tendency toward motion sickness I recommend Dramamine an hour b4 you get on the plane. If your not sure, take it anyway. The last thing you want is to get in the air and find out you were wrong.

Heather: Are you home yet? We miss you and I have some other things to say about our previous subject.

Where is everybody else, especially all you new folks?

Wink Hello

Hope -- I didn't like Will's last movie either -- Taledagua nights or whatever it was, I wonder if he is losing his touch or what? I used to really like his movies. That is a negative on the Taebo, I'm at work. lol. But maybe that would "spice" things up here if I got up and started doing Taebo!! I re-watched "Miss Congeniatlity" w/ Sandra Bullock over the weekend. I saw it was on tv and I hate when they edit movies, so I just got our copy and watched. So I didn't get much accomplished over the weekend except for laundry. I just cannot get motivated with this blah weather. lol. Just makes me feel blah. lol.

Only 4 and a 1/2 hours to go!!!! lol. Only 30 and a 1/2 hours until I am off again!!! lmao. Can ya tell I just love my job?

good morning gang

well I'm finally feeling good enough to get up early and get in my exercise. I did 2 miles this morning. Of course, once I got hot I started coughing my head off, but I feel good for doing it.

Leenie - Casting Crowns! WOW! you are gonna have a blast!!! they are great! We've got all 5 of their albums. I love so many of their songs, but some of my very favorites are "Praise You in this Storm", "Voice of Truth", "Who am I" and "East to West". Have a great great time girlie!

Hey Hope - thanks for the info on Dramamine. someone else had mentioned it to me and I had picked some up, but hadn't decided whether to take it or not. After reading your post.... I'm gonna go ahead and take it an hour before take off. I was just concerned that it might make me sleepy, but on such a long flight - don't know why that would matter - unless there was some sort of emergency or something The thought of flying doesn't worry me at all - but the thought of crashing has me just a little concerned

Buddly I hope you're having a better day today

Sassy - I would love to see or meet Paula Deen. She's a hoot!

hope everybody has a blessed day!
hugs,
Cathy

Wow - I just re-read this post - where's the first half?? LOL!!

Okay, well, back from skiing - it was great, though it did turn into an eating-free-for-all, but since I don't really think we each gained ten pounds in nine days... I think some will fall off now that we're home and eating well again... I'll change my ticker in a couple of days when I know where I REALLY am! Ah well - it was well worth it - and I enjoyed every bite!

I'm sure this week's running will be a bit harder due to all the food, but I'll still get in a few miles, and since I've met my February distance goals, and easy week might be just the ticket!

My muscles are aching, but I have a massage booked this afternoon - ahhhhh. Can't wait

Hope you are all doing well - Cathy, feeling better?? - and welcome to all our new friends!

Chat soon -
Heather

MOrning all - can't stay long (again)... I'll pop back in this pm to say hi to all individually

Interview went REALLY well, and I think its obvious that there was a really good reason that I got rejected by that other school, because this seems like a reallllllly good fit for me. Keeping fingers crossed!

I got the card at Shopko, I don't remember the brand, but I liked it so well I think I might go get another one, and I'll post the brand then!

Have a great day everyone!

Me again!

Heather - I thought your post was a little, um, abbreviated this am - the other half makes so much more sense! I'm glad you had fun skiing. And with all that activity, I'm sure anything you ate will melt right away!

Sassy - you must have the patience of a saint, my friend. There is no way I could work those kind of shifts. And your utilities sound positively ridiculous! I hope you find a nice new appt if thats the route you decide to take.

Cathy - I'm so envious! I love Hawaii!!!!! I am a little spoiled, since I've been more than once Which island are you heading for? You are going to have a blast!

Hope - How are you doing today? Thanks so much for asking about the interview! I think you and Sassy are on some same wavelength this week - what with the workout and the show about garlic! Hahaha.

Leenie - Have fun at your concert this weekend!

Buddly - I hope you are feeling better today. I miss you Feel better soon. I bought some more storage containers this weekend, and thought of you!

OK all - here's a chapter from the Amarie novel (tee hee). My washing machine broke this weekend, the seal went on the connection from the tub to the drain I guess. Anyway, now I have lots of laundry to do - gonna take it to the 'Mat tonight - that should be an exciting way to spend my evening! Oh, I suppose I could go shopping for a washer I can't afford, but that just sounds even worse.

Other than that, I'm doing OK this week. It felt really good to take the weekend off from everything (well, other than laundry - THAT I would have liked to have done). I just started a new 10 week food journal, which seems exciting to me. I'm pretty tired lately, can't seem to sleep well. Anyway, same ole same ole.

Take care everyone!

Hey Me Amarie - we are staying in Lahaina, Maui. My sister is taking me. she has been a couple of times and wanted to do a sister trip. She has everything planned out. We are going ziplining on Sunday LOL and then one day we have a catamarin boat tour all day with whale watching and snorkeling and stuff. I think we are gonna go to a laua. we are renting a convertible to go site seeing and hiking and to see all the waterfalls and scenery. I still can't believe I'm going ;-)

I'm really glad that you can already see a possible reason for not being accepted by the other school. I had and have no doubt there is something better for you.

hugs,
cathy
