  • Morning chicks!

Another new week started, and here we go!

I had a weekend of 'damage control' after an emotional bingefest on Friday night, but it's all okay - I didn't REALLY eat 7000 calories, so I haven't REALLY put on two pounds... so I am NOT changing my ticker!! I'm PMS-ing all over the place, and that's NEVER conducive to eating as well as I'd like!

Anyway - going to aim for a distance run this morning and some creative meal planning... how ya'll doin' this cold, snowy day (well, it is HERE! )

    Heather
  • good morning gang

I did 2 miles this morning

Leenie - no I can not believe that your tree is still up! LOL glad you're enjoying it tho. I like getting it down and getting the space back but you know how I am

Hey Heather - glad you are back on track girlie!!! you must be running in the snow? that's awesome! YOU GO GIRL!

well gang I'm at work today so I better get with it!
hope everybody has a blessed day!
    hugs,
    Cathy
  • Good Morning,

Heather good for you for getting back on track and going out for a run... woweeeee. How long/far do you run, and do you run every day?

Cathy..yep tree is still up. Maybe the 1st week of Feb I'll take it down... me and DD just love it. How's everything down south?

Its FREEEZING up here... 15 degrees this morning burrrr.

Nothing else is new...still coughing, still sick but I think I can fight this on my own (meaning no doctor lol) I don't like taking meds if I don't have to, I like my body to try to fight things... ya know lol. Most of the time meds win LOL.

Anyway...... Have a GROOVY Monday and SMILE !!!

    Luv yah.

    Leenie
  • Morning Ladies!

Cathy - Wow WTG Good job getting you walk in this am!!

Heather - LOL I know exactly what you mean - darn that PMS! Last week was tough for me, the scale crept up a little each am no matter what I did. Then yesterday morning poof! It dropped like 4 pounds (actually a loss of 2.8 since last week!). Stupid water weight. Like I really burned 14000 calories sleeping saturday night?? Good for you in realizing that that its just a blip on the scale.

I'm impressed to hear about your running - are you training for something in particular?

Leenie - Brrrr... that is cold. I'm sorry you're still under the weather. Have a nice warm cup of tea and dream of spring! :coffee2

It was -1 this morning when I got up, and we've had wind-chill warnings the last three days. Goodness! Friday night I was sure my house was going to blow over, and woke up early Saturday to find foot high snow drifts all down my sidewalk. I've temporarily suspended my evening walks until this cold front breaks. My vet has also instructed me to leave my cocker pup home from my walks for at least a week - she got a cough, and he said the cold air was aggravating her lungs and throat. Sigh. She is not happy about this turn of events, and its just as well I won't be able to go without her for a while - getting out of the house without her takes an act of congress!

So tomorrow I go back to class - in addition to work. I think what free time I have now will officially dissapear by Friday. The trick will be not letting myself think that exercise requires free time. I'm just going to have to prioritize it.

Sassy - I've been meaning to ask something your avatar made me wonder last week - how many calories are there in a string of pearls?? Do they suppress hunger?

Alright ladies - I gotta go earn some money to buy fresh produce! Toodles.

    Amarie
  • Aww you guys must think I'm, like, Superwoman or something!!

Run in the snow?? Nah - too in love with my treadmill! Actually, I have started running outside again, but since the cold snap and more snow end of last week, it's back in front of the DVD player for me! Amarie, I started running last June; I was building up to 10K for April - not a race (I am SO non-competitive that the very thought of a race makes me want to throw up!) but just for myself - and I did that today.

    Chat tomorrow, ladies!!
    Heather
  • Heather!!!! 10K!!!!!

  • Woopa!!! I just posted me first recipe over in the foods forum Its for breakfast burritos - thought I'd put a word in here in case any of you are interested!

    Hugs,
  • Happy Monday all!!

Its a beautiful sunny and cold day here, at least no more snow!!!
Hubby managed to get our van unstuck. And since the roads were so bad he decided to stay home until Sunday which was good as the grader filled in the end of the driveway and it was nice to have some "braun" around.
    Other than that nothing new.

Heather good for you for getting back on track. I did some major binging last night/this morning and was to terrified to get on the scale after all the salty foods etc.

Amarie I'll have to check out the recipe.

Cathy good for you for staying the course. Another 2 miles whoop!!

Leenie, hope you feel better soon.

    Sassy how are things?

Well I should get going. Judo tonight hopefully I can back out

Take care everyone and have a wonderful day,
    K
  • Hi Girls
    *Calgon Take Me Awayyyy!!!!*

lol. UGH I am in major need of a Vacation......lol. Just trying to decide on when to take it!! lol. It needs to be SOON though!!! lol.

Amarie: First Dunno if I welcomed u or not......Secondly, my pearls in my picture are completely fat free and infact do supress hunger. lol. I'd be a billionare if that were true, wouldn't I? lol.

I am sooooo hungry right now...and I hate what I packed for lunch. And I don't get a "lunch" (I eat at my desk) so I can't even go anywhere to get anything either. Plus the fact that my DH drove me tonight and I have no car. lol. Guess that can be a good thing though........but it is a good thing I have no cash cuz I'd be hitting that vending machine!! lol.........

  • Awwww Feel better, Sassy.....
  • Hi ladies,

I need to be in bed but I'm just not tired yet. We went across town tonight and looked at a bulldog puppy. She was cute but a definite chewer. She nearly chewed our jeans and shoes off, not to mention any fingers she could get a hold of. We decided she was going to get too big for us and I really want a miniature bulldog. We'll keep looking!

I've been a little, well a lot depressed this week. No real reason, nothing new anyway. I am down about my job and weight situation of course, but this was a little much. Just parts of the ups and downs of depression. One day I felt like the walls were closing in and I couldn't breath. I ended up on the couch under a blanket most of the day. It helped to feel like I was hiding under there. I knew the whole time it was illogical to feel like that but as you all know you can't turn it off.

My eating has been OK this week. I'm definitely not totally on plan, but I've cut way back. I had several times where I just wanted to quit completely this week, probably due to the depression coupled with the withdrawal you go through from all of the yummy crap you normally eat. But I'm still poking along and trying. Did I mention that I still don't trust myself?

    Amarie: The burritos sound yummy!

Leenie: Don't sweat the tree! I always had a hard time taking it down because I love the way it feels to have it up. Once it stayed up all year!! Howz that for slack!

Buddly: I was just thinking tonight about how nice it is to have a man around to help with certain things. I spent a lot of time single and this is a treat to have somebody around who can easily fix things. ( not saying a woman isn't capable, but I personally just never took an interest in learning construction)

Heather and Cathy: Thanks for the constant inspiration and consistency. It can be done!
  • Hi All,

Just was reading my Garfield Comic and today's is kinda cute, so figured I'd share:

  • Mornign folks!

    Thanks, Amarie - feels great!

Sassy - I hear ya on the holiday thing... can't wait to just chill somewhere warm. I saw an ad the other day with some gorgeous landscape, and the caption read: "It's not that you don't have any worries here, you just can't remember what they are." (or something close to that) and I thought - YES! That's where I want to be!

Hope - so sorry you're having a tough week, hon. Love you. Seriously. (and not in a creepy, stalker-ish way! There - did that make you smile?? )

Leenie, chick - you could always leave the tree until next year!! How are you feeling today??

Buddly - just remind yourself that no matter what that scale says for the next couple of days - IT'S LYING!!!

Cathy - having a good day, or too busy back at work? BTW - I stopped the ThyAid, and felt better within 24 hours... hubby says it's a mental, placebo type reaction, but I don't care! I'll see the doctor again about it in June, and will try to be strong enough to insist on the T3/T4 testing.

Hi Scorpio! Nice to see you!

Well, that's it from me folks... we're playing with the idea of getting a new car... not sure where we're going with this idea. Hmmm. It would be a replacement, not another vehicle, so... I'll let you know.

    Have a great day all!
    Heather
  • Hey Girls,

I tried to get in here 3 times....... sigh.

    Can't talk now but

    Luv yah.
  • Hi gals!

Well, I got up late this am, took FOREVER to get my bike loaded in my car, and feel so far behind I'll never catch up! Can't talk now - gotta go to class. Integration awaits.

    Hugs, have a great day!
