good morning gang

it's been a busy morning already and i've tons to do around here, but wanted to drop in and tell everyone "good morning" and that i hope everyone has a great great day!

Today is one week of NO caff free diet coke. i'm proud of myself they say it takes 21 days to break a habit or change a habit or start a new habit so i'm a third of the way there i really wanted a diet coke yesterday but it passed and i survived funny the things that can control us huh

Leenie - how is your dh doing today?

So what is everybody doing today? I'm busy at work

Morning, chickies! I am happy to say that I have beaten back my raging hormones and feel a LOT better today! A whole lot more like myself, and less like a scary monster

I did my run this morning; I missed my July 1st mini-goal by about a pound and a half, but since ToM arrived yesterday, I expect I'll drop a couple of pounds as that tapers off later this week.

My mum is coming to stay with us while she recovers from heart bypass surgery; not sure why I didn't tell anyone on these boards about that - I'm not much of a 'Help, I need support' kind of person... even though sometimes I do. Ironically, I'm now feeling a whole lot better about everything, so it all seems manageable - it's odd the games we play with ourselves sometimes...
Anyway, I have to get the house ready, so I'll be busy; but I have promised myself that in light of all I CANNOT control right now, I CAN control what goes in my mouth, and keeping up my running and weight training, just for ME. I think it's going to be important.

Leenie - let us know how your hubby is doing; well, I hope

Cathy - great to see you - and WHOOT at you for a week off the Diet Coke!! Yay!! A Very Good Thing!

Chat to ya'll soon - it's good to be 'back'

Hi Girlies,

Cathy, good to see your back week #1 well you go girl.... are you allowing yourself caffeine free soda or you just going cold turkey on it all?

Heather, I'm glad your funk is over. Thats great your Mom is staying with you, I know you'll take good care of her. When your done cleaning, you can always come to my house its a MESS. Not dirty, just lots of clutter that drives me insane

DH is doing well, thanks for asking. They are leaving in the stitches till the end of the week b/c this was a new procedure they did working with stemcell graphing so they want to be extra careful not to pull them out to soon. Today is his birthday... I'm debating getting him cake because I know who'll eat it............ ME !!! lolol

Tomorrow we're off of work because of the holiday whooot! but we aren't doing anything since I have to go back to work on thursday...how much can you do ya know.

Anyway... SOSDD... back to work.

Have a great TUESDAY you wonderful, beautiful chicklets.

good morning gang

it's raining cats and dogs down here with no end in sight. I have never seen so much rain and honestly....it's getting old!

Leenie, what about an angel food cake and strawberries and cool whip for your dear hubby's birthday? that would be yummy good and not TOO many calories? I'm glad he is doing ok!

About the caff free diet coke - no I did not switch to regular coke. that's WAY TOO MANY calories for me! and honestly I don't even like the taste of regular soda any more. I started drinking diet drinks as a teenager bec they had NO calories. But as I've gotten older and wiser a I started checking out what's in those things and know they are not good for me in quantities - and I realize I'm not drinking them in moderation - so I've just gone cold turkey off of them. I'm only drinking water with lemon and some caff free tea. We are totally caff free at our house - dh has Mitral Valve Prolapse, and there are other issues with caff (like anxiety and such) so we stay completely away from it. Every once in awhile I have regular coffee and I can tell the difference when I do.

Heather, I hope all goes well with your mum staying at your house and that she recovers quickly! hugs!

I hope the rest of the gang checks in today and post a little note. Hope everybody has a great day!
hugs,
Cathy

Hi everybody,

Cathy, good job on the soda. I go off Diet Coke periodically, but somehow start drinking it again. It can't be good for you when I don't know what half of the ingredients are! Here in VA we would gladly take SOME of your rain. The grass is brown and lots of crops are suffering of dying. Sorry you are getting more than your share though. That's no fun either.

Leenie: not doing much tomorrow either, if anything out of the ordinary. Glad you are off work though.

Heather: When's your mom's surgery? She's lucky to have you to stay with. Hope all goes smoothly.

Well, it's pool tonight again. I mainly go to catch up with everybody. I just finished mowing the yard and should do a hundred other things. Don't think that'll happen though.

Hello everyone! I haven't posted in a long time, so I hope everyone's doing well. I am okay but wishing I had the willpower and determination I had a year ago to lose this weight again. It's so frustrating to go up and down like this all the time! Especially since I started taking Abilify, which makes my appetite for carbs nearly insatiable. Oh well, guess all I can do is keep trying.

Have a great week everyone!

Hope good luck playing pool !! go kick some butt

Lessthan, boy its nice to see you Welcome back girlie. Yes it is frustrating to go up and down with your weight and medication. I'm glad your back with us.

Well its supposed to rain here so there goes swimming LOLOL.... but I'm not complaining really, I'll take the day off to relax, maybe to the store for some coffee

Have a great holiday everyone.

Good morning & Happy 4th!

I have no idea what we're doing today, but I think it would be very patriotic to clean up my home office. Do I know how to have fun, or what?

Morning all!

It's raining here, but at the risk of looking like the worst possible contestant in a wet T-shirt contest (yuck!), I am going to get out there and run anyway. ...sigh...

Nothing of interest or news here - Mum's surgery was last Tuesday - she's still on oxygen, so they can't let her come home yet. Watch this space, and all that. It's very tiring, and she's not even here yet.

Hope everyone is doing well, and for my American friends - Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th everyone,

Didn't do much but overeat today, so I guess it was pretty much an ordinary day. Lessthan, I know how you feel. I just can't get motivated to do anything healthy for myself.

Just stopped in b/c I was thinking about you all. Hope all is well.

Hi all -

Hope - - you just keep on stopping in, honey - I look for you every day!

Hi Lessthan - looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi Judy, Cathy, Leenie -

Didn't get any exercise yesterday - I am clearly not dedicated enough to run int he rain! - but I am sitting here in my running clothes getting ready (mentally!) to go!! Must do it, or the depression and 'you can't do anything' monster will come and get me...

Just keep it moving and shaking, that's what I say! Later!

Good Morning

I can so rarely say that since I usually get up late. Heather, if that monster comes to get you he'll have to come all the way from VA so you should be safe at least for the day.

My house is in desperate need of cleaning and I just don't want to. If I don't do it I'll look so lazy and worthless to my hard working fiance when he gets home tonight. He doesn't deserve to live with a slug. Hopefully I'll convince myself to get moving.

What's everyone else up to?
