My original goal is 135. This will put me at 137. That's mighty close. I'm hoping I don't crawl for the last 10lbs. I wouldn't mind 125 but I didn't want to stress myself out since the last time I weighed that was when I was 18 and before I had 3 kids. I will be starting work soon (school) and that will change my routine completely again. So far I'm doing good and even managed to add water consistently.

PumpkinPrincess 08-08-2006 04:55 PM

DeafinlySmart~ I'm so happy that this Challenge fits into your own personal goal. And your doing so well with the WATER!!! AHHH thats my downfall I need to drink more water. :)

Alot of the CCC's have said that this challenge either goes right along with their personal goals or that it comes at a time where insperation was needed. I'm so pleased and happy to have thought of this yesterday, its fun how things happen.

 to you all

Teresa

I have a question....

Everytime I lose weight do I have to remake my ticker? or is there a way just to change the Current Wieght?;)

NewDay4MeToo 08-08-2006 06:04 PM

Fun :)

I'm excited about this challenge. It does line up almost exactly with my goal weight for Christmas. Hope everyone is doing well!

PumpkinPrincess 08-08-2006 08:50 PM

Alrighty...update

Today was alright, I ate really well and staid away from fastfood at all cost.

Tommrow I have to leave the house though an do errands...will I be able to aviod going out to eat? Maybe not, but atleast I won't go to a FastFood joint. Maybe get the salad bar at pizza hut. ;)

I'm feeling very uplifted and inspired by this challenge and by all of you!

Loves and Hugs to you ALL

Teresa

DeafinlySmart 08-08-2006 08:55 PM

You go edit your signature and in the url, change the appropriate number. You don't have to remake the ticker, but you do have to edit the code. It's easy though. It's just 3 numbers xxx/xxx/xxx and you can tell which is which.

DeafinlySmart 08-08-2006 08:57 PM

umm..salad bar at pizza hut. That has pitfalls especially with dressings and untold calories, etc. A better choice (unless someone is meeting you at pizza hut) is to go to subway or get a nutrition menu at McD's and pick your salad there. It's not the best but at least you know what your nutrtion label reads at the end of the day. Also I was suprised how big Wendy's Chili was and that's a good choice too. Armed with Wendy's nutrition brochure, they actually have good choices there. If you go to a restaurant, Applebees is good (they have notations on their menu and if you know you are going there ahead of time, you can get the full nutrtion menu off the net).

Edit: P.S. Try packing a small cooler with snacks (if you aren't meeting a friend) and eat those. I did that several times this summer. BEAUTIFUL feeling!

PumpkinPrincess 08-08-2006 09:25 PM

Thanks for the SUpport Deafin! I'm actually going to just eat first before I even go and carry around my nuts in a bag to eat :) when I get hungry :) THank you again for talking me out of cheating.....LOVE YOU!!!!!

PumpkinPrincess 08-08-2006 09:26 PM

DeafinlySmart 08-08-2006 09:38 PM

I was just remembering I made this decision LAST christmas (I took a 4 month break from grief then got back on) and I will be at goal or VERY close this Christmas. Hmm...all I want for Christmas is some beautiful THIN clothes. Perfect timing.

PumpkinPrincess 08-08-2006 09:48 PM

If I complete this challenge I will be 10lbs from my goal, and will have 2 months to shed those 10lbs by my 21st birthday! I'm an totally excitied!!!!!:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

c_laura 08-08-2006 10:21 PM

I start phase 1 of south beach tomorrow and so I haven't actually started any weightloss, but I can start jogging at the gym again and so tomorrow starts my quest for smaller pants.;)

JasonsLea 08-09-2006 01:49 AM

So today was EXTREMELY stressful. I can't get into details right now since it's after midnight and I SO need to get to bed, but basically two of my head supervisors were being *******s. But they are soon going to learn that I am not the one! I document everything so I WANT them to try me! Anyway, I left furious and the first thing I thought of was candy and Taco Bell. But you know what I did? I sat in the car and ate my usual sandwich then ONE WW mint chocolate. I was still pissed and of course still was craving so instead of heading over to Taco Bell...I went to sleep. Yep, I pushed that seat back and went to sleep! I woke up like thirty minutes later as my mama was calling my cell and she let me SCREAM at her about my shitty day. I felt better, not craving, but I was making excuses for not going to the gym. As I was making the excuses, I was getting changed into my gym clothes in the back seat. Then I kept telling myself over and over and over again 242, 242, 242, 242 ,242 as I got out the car and walked out the parking garage. Why? Because my WI for today came in at 242.6 Next thing you know, I'm off the bus in front of the gym. I let myself think again about my *****y sups, got angry again, and spent the next hour lifting more weight than I have EVER lifted and half jogging on the threadmill. And yes, I DO feel pretty damn good.

NewDay4MeToo 08-09-2006 02:26 AM

New snack

I don't know what plan everyone is doing, but I just bought some "fruit strips" at Target that are pretty tasty. At 45 calories a strip, they are yummy and made only from fruit, so that is nice. Not a perfect snack since they are high sugar, but definitely healthier than some other sweet options.

PS... Christmas seems so long to me. What I had originally set up for myself was a mini-goal of 25 pounds by Halloween, then the other 15 by Christmas. (for anyone doing the 40 pound challenge) I think it helps me to have the smaller goals, plus Halloween seems like a good time to be able to have a reality check and see if I am on track.

So that is what I have in the back of my mind, 25 by Halloween. And I told myself I would get the reward of a "sexy" Halloween costume, in case I go to any costume parties.

Hope everyone is having a great night!

JasonsLea 08-09-2006 02:33 AM

I'm so glad you posted! I was planning on making a Halloween challenge. But that will have to wait till tomorrow. Good night all!

Rosario 08-09-2006 09:13 AM

Hi everyone!!!

My goal is 40 pounds by christmas which will put me at 196. I have got a long way to go, so I really better start moving!!!!

NewDay4meToo- I am so with you on the Halloween thing. I want a sexy costume this year, too!!!

Let me know how your day out went :)

c_laura 08-09-2006 12:50 PM

already my start day kind of went to pot. My aunt woke me up this morning a good two hours early to help her get a bat from out of her living room, by the time it was done, and I got to bed I missed going to gym this morning. Now I need to find the motivation to go during the day/evening. Not to mention cheerios sounded way better this morning than an egg...oops. I'm not doing so great on the first day of the rest of my life.

I bet you worked off some calories chasing that bat! I had one land on my head one time and so as a precaution I had to have a whole series of rabies shots (including having to arrange an out of town clinic to give me one of the shots while I was on vacation).

Learning a new lifestyle for the rest of your life is a gradual learning experience. What diet are you on? Cherrios don't sound bad especially if you portion control them (unless you are on a low carb diet). I challenge you to write down 3 GOOD choices you made today. Then commit to improve tomorrow. Aim for Progress, not Perfection.

PumpkinPrincess 08-09-2006 04:06 PM

Rosario 08-09-2006 04:12 PM

Awesome job Teresa!!!!!

AN interview and a two-pound loss?!?! Double bonus for you!!!!

I haven't been good yet today. Breakfast was good, lunch was good, but my snack was whoa nelly!!!! I way overdid and I am too embarrassed to say what I gorged on. But it's ok. I am not gonna throw this day away. Ima go nna go home and eat a light dinner (I'm thinking salad with tomatoes and avocadoes and maybe a tiny piece of meat). And I will get my workout on. I have been lazy way too long. Plus I have a beach trip in 5 weeks that I gotta look good for!!

ArtsyGirl 08-09-2006 04:28 PM

Well, I'm on track so far for the day. Healthy breakfast and lunch, but I need more water before dinner. That shouldn't be a problem. Got a good run and walk in this morning. I'm down 1/2 a pound toward my 1 pound goal for the week.

I leave bright and early tomorrow morning to participate in the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk!!! I'm so excited. I'm going to have such fun.

I'll talk to ya all on Monday!!

My day has been good so far... on track!

willmakeit 08-09-2006 07:57 PM

Hi girls! It good to hear that you are all doing great!
Bt I am not :( (Like I said in my other post yesterday)... I just dont know whats up with me? I actually gained 2 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I didnt change anything...Plenty of running and same calorie intake. May be its the heat and excess of water I am drinking or TTOM !?! But its so hard to see the scale these days.

I really really want to get there by Christmas. I am trying so hard! If I gain another lb this week, I would be tempted badly to give up!

I was down to 145 but it was so hard for me to change my signature back to 147 today :( But I wanted to be honest to myself!

DeafinlySmart 08-09-2006 08:30 PM

I wanted to go out to eat. I knew exactly how many calories my entree was (and it was a splurge) before I went to the place. I looked at my fitday to see if I had room. I did and I enjoyed myself. I ate just under my maintence calories. Yes, that means no loss for today, but I've lost 7lbs in the past month so I was okay with an educated treat. :)

NewDay4MeToo 08-09-2006 08:46 PM

Okay day

Well, I did not eat very much earlier today, but that was because I really needed to save calories for amazing italian tonight!

I had salad- spinach leaves, pine nuts, gorgonzola, and anchovy dressing. Sounds strange, but it was amazing! Then split a yummy calzone with tons of veggies. It was SO good.

Anyway, it was hard for me to know how to handle this meal- I knew it was coming, so I just ended up feeling hungry most of the day from deprivation. I don't really know how else to do it as of right now. I still stayed in my calories for the day.

What are your thoughts, girls? I knew I wanted this great meal. How else should one handle a day like this? Does it mess anyone up to "starve" beforehand? I don't want to go crazy eating tonight.

Nightkatt 08-09-2006 09:29 PM

Im so glad someone posted how to change the tickers without having to completely redo them lol .. I have been redoing mine and its rather annoying having to do that each week lol .. so big thankies.

Okee .. well this week has been going well so far. Im on Jenny Craig for the next few months .. at least lol ... Im hoping to just get myself taught about the right eating really. I havent done so well on my exercise .. but I have been on the Fitness Flyer each day (even tho its only for about 5 minutes lol) .. and Im finally drinking the 2 litres of water a day.

My third weigh in is on Friday .. Im hoping for a better loss than last week (1.6kg) and Im about to go and get some leaflets folded up so that when my daughter gets home from school we can go deliver them together :)

Just a quick intro for those in the group ...

Im in New Zealand, a 34 year old mum of one (Ashleigh just turned 15 last week) and also a mum to 3 dogs and a cat :) We just sold our gift shop (although we still have the online one - which keeps me semi busy lol), but I am looking at doing a home school course .. just not sure what subject. My starting weight isnt my highest, but I wasnt willing to wait until I got back up to that to start doing something about it! I have the initial goal of getting down to 100kg, and then I want to see how I feel .. I dont want to be skinny .. or a size 4 6 8 or even 10 lol .. I will be very happy to be 16 .. maybe even down to a 14 cos I cant actually remember ever being that size! I know for my height I should be a lot less .. but I have been close to my goal weight YEARS ago and felt like a walking coathanger so would prefer a little extra padding - not that I think that would be a problem with my top half anyway lol.

Really happy to be doing this challenge .. and its pretty much on the mark of what I want to achieve anyway :)

Happy day all .. and great newsletter Boss!! rofl ..

gremlina 08-09-2006 09:35 PM

The scale hasn't budged yet this week..but hopefully it will..I weight myself officially on Fridays.. I want to start to run but I guess I am scared if that makes sense..I exercise 6 days/week already but running is something different for me... I also want to start doing pushups and situps. I can't even do 1 pushup right now..I feel so pathetic..I exercise all the time and I can't do any pushups (I'm talking about male pushups not female pushups)... :-(

You've done so well already gremlina!! Don't fret I'm sure it'll budge soon. Don't over stress yourself with the excersize though, make sure its a chore, but not torture!

Well, after my adventure this morning with a bat I never really got back on track, until this evening. Tonight I had a skinless chicken breast and salad and managed to cut my diet coke drinking in half and and by the end of the night I will have had over 64 oz of water.

I also got to plan my workout for tomorrow...30 min of jogging and an ab workout...here to hoping I follow through:?:

PumpkinPrincess...it isn't that impressive...I have a trusty nalgene water bottle that's 32 oz. Add a straw and it makes it really easy to get enough water...now all I have to add is diet and exercise.:D

Hiya .. was just reading your post again and thought oh hey .. someone else mentioned something similar on another post ... sometimes its not anything that you do .. if you are exercising it could be the muscle is building up which weighs more than the fat .. other than that your metabolism may need a jolt to get it working again .. I think it was called something like Seesaw Calories?? A couple of days every now and then you either boost or lower your calorie intake then go back to what you were always doing .. it jolts your metabolism sometimes .. thats the only thing I can think of if you havent done anything differently for a while. Its sorta like using the same shampoo for years .. when you change shampoos it gives your hair a nice boost lol ...

Hope that helps?

wow .. some calorie intakes are tiny!! 1000-1200?? Wow ... the Jenny Craig programme has me on 1673 calories (7000kj) ... but I dont eat that many lol .. I just cant fit in that much food rofl. I would probably be closer to 1500 I think.

Daisy Boo 08-10-2006 01:52 AM

hi girlies

well i received my email from pumpkin (thank you!) so i guess i am officially on board :)

i am up for the jingle the pounds away challenge which should bring me to the half way point of my weight loss. works perfectly in line with my own personal goals too which is very convenient.

a quick background check on me. 28 year old in Australia. My starting weight this time around is my absolute highest weight ever at 108kg (237lbs) and my goal weight at the moment is 65kg (143lbs) by April/May 2007.

i joined up with WW online 6 weeks ago but have not been doing as well as i could be (i sabotage myself at night). otherwise i am trying to focus on whole/super foods and limiting junk foods and overly processed stuff and trying to exercise as often as possible. much easier now i have a gym membership.

well, i hope everyone is off to a great start on their challenges.

i have to agree with pumpkin's statement "Christmas is going to come no matter what". it's up to us as to whether we have lost weight or not by then.
