c_laura 08-13-2006 10:24 AM

Well I've be doing alright. My exercise has been good. I've been speed walking/jogging for at least 30 min each day (this is my day of rest) and been doing crunches. My diet hasn't been great, my parents came to visit and I've been snacking a LOT with them. It isn't horrible, whole wheat crackers and cheese rather than chips but still I am sure I was far over my carbs and my calories.
But thats ok. Today starts a new week and I'm going to be good. I am going to really stick to the South Beach diet this time around. I'll start a P1 and not quit (I'm going to try for 3 weeks on P1). I think I'm going to skip a weigh in this week and be content with my NSV of exercise and avoiding the really bad snack foods of chips and ice cream.

sakuya3834 08-13-2006 12:08 PM

Didn't do so good this week, only down .5 lb. Kinda disappointing. :( This next week is TOM so I doubt I'll lose anything either.

Ivy13 08-13-2006 12:16 PM

Hi girls,

C_Laura, I'm on South Beach too, its been my first week, and the first three days were hard, but now I don't feel the need to eat everything I see.
I confess its great to see the scale going down, but I understand what you guys are saying about those NSV moments. These are even better. Last night I've been to a soccer game (for you soccer fans I got to see Beckham playing live, in a friendly game between Real Madrid and Real Salt Lake..:) ). Anyway, everyone was eating, everywhere was smelling of food, hotdogs, burgers, fries... Normally, I would've buy something, and a Coke, but I didn't feel the need, I wasn't hungry and I wasn't craving. This was great!
Have a nice Sunday you'all! And thank you for being here for support.

Ivy

gremlina 08-13-2006 12:39 PM

Nothing much exciting here. I just wanted to congratulate you all that lost. Sounds like everyone is doing awesome. :-) :-) :-) I just realized the other day that I have been on WW for 5 months now and have been OP all but one day of those 5 months (the one day I was not OP I was actually way too far under pts. because I was sick). Yay!
Well..time for some dinner..hopefully DH will be home from work soon!

Well for those that have teens I have finally worked out the positive of them driving you nuts and really getting up your nose! (no offence to those that are in the age range rofl) My daughter wagged school on Friday to get on a bus with her boyfriend and go to the next town where we used to live to hang out for the day! They tried telling me that they only dumped the afternoon of school .. but I had already found out (thanks to friends in my old town telling me they saw them!) that they had been there since before lunch so she had dumped the whole day of school .. to say I was angry would have been an understatement! So I blasted them both when they got back home Friday night and stewed on it for the night ... usually I would have gone and grabbed some chocolate (which I will admit I did contemplate), but I realised I would be letting their actions cause me to sabotage myself! So the next morning I decided to clean up one of the computer areas (the one my daughter uses), and there were lots of things in that area that shouldnt have been there so I put them all in a box (most were for her room) and dumped them in there after cleaning the comp area .. then as there were some bathroom things I took them in there and ended up cleaning the bathroom (really need to get a mop lol) .. then I went out with the dogs to throw the ball and chase them for a bit. An hour of non-stop moving and I was more relaxed again and my bathroom was sparkling, the dogs were worn out and the comp area was clean too! Yayy I thought .. something positive out of it :)

Then this morning she gave me grief again and got my dander up sooo at 8.30 I started cleaning the kitchen, lounge, dining room, and my bedroom and I didnt stop until ... wait for it ... 10.30am!! 2 hours!! I was hot and sweaty, I had scrubbed the oven (I hate cleaning ovens rofl) and all I have left to do is the vacuuming (just need to get it back from the repairers), the house looks lovely and I am going to say thank you to my daughter when she gets home .. right before I confirm she is grounded for 2 weeks and her room has to be spotless or I will be doing it tomorrow rofl

So now its just after 11am Monday (I hate Mondays lol) and I have finally stopped long enough to eat my breakfast bar, but I have been drinking my water while I have been going. I was going to do the washing this afternoon but the weather has turned to crap (so chances are my daughter is gonna come home wet rofl), but I may do some and just pop it on the clothing horses in front of the heater in the lounge.

Great losses and NSV moments I have been reading .. and REALLY AB FAB to HadEnough .. It definitely seems a mile away for me lol .. but as Im aiming for 220 to start with Im just lookin forward to being in the 2s lol ..

Huggies all!

DeafinlySmart 08-13-2006 07:34 PM

Jenny Dee...I need some of those blues busters. I am SOOOOO bored. I didn't take it out on food though. All I thought about all day was food but I didn't indulge. I did take it out on GUM though.

PumpkinPrincess....I'm probably too late, but just a gentle reminder to all...splurge meals are okay but everything in moderation..don't use it as an excuse to BINGE.

NightKatt: See, you DO understand the celebrate the NSVs! You did GREAT! Stress leads to temptation and you avoided it!

IVY: WOW! I would have had to have some fair food! I did go to a fair recently and got the fat free/etc Italian Ice (and logged it) instead of the Funnel Cake I was going for (it just happened to be the booth next to me and the fat free, etc sign was like a sign calling my name).

Sakuya: Dieting is hard work no matter which plan you are on. YOU CAN DO IT!

Gremlina: I had to go back and check your name. I almost put grim. You are happy aren't you? :) 1/2 a pound seems so slow but I didn't lose any this week so I would love your half pound. Are you donating it? :)

Rocking around that Christmas Tree..We will all parade around slimlessly...Let the Happiness ROCK!

willmakeit 08-13-2006 07:45 PM

Hi all,

Had a great weekend! A barbeque and frizbee picnic with my old job's co-workers and 2 movies... I ate a bit more yesterday in the picnic but I did do my running today!

I had tofu and veggie stri fry and brown rice for lunch. This time I made it in coconut milk. it tasted so good! I am planning to prepare tomoato and basil soup and salad for dinner!

Keep going everybody!

sotypical 08-13-2006 08:29 PM

wow, I missed a lot. This is just a check in, have been super good this weekend but much better then last and I am down 1 pound this week. Well on my way to that 20 pounds! I will update my tickers tomorrow.

Been working hard all weekend on Keiko's website, it is looking sooo awesome. I can't believe what a good job I have done. Last night I went to a friends and we watched some horror movie called Death Tunnel it was good! But then I borrowed his first season 24... never watched it before, what an addicting show already! anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

omegabutt 08-13-2006 08:41 PM

My Christmas Goal

Hello Everyone!!! I am new to this site but so far I LOVE IT!!! All the support which is what I need. I joined Weight Watchers on August 1st, 2006 just doing it on my own without the meetings. So chatting with others is a big help. I was just posting this so I can make it known that I WILL lose an additional 25 pounds by Christmas. Atleast that is my goal.

If anyone wants to talk... let me know. Good luck everyone with their goals!!

purplecrush 08-13-2006 09:28 PM

Hey everyone!! It sounds like everyones well on their way to losing weight they want for their challenge!!! Thats great!!

My day was good, so far. Im good on points. Washed my van today with the kiddos..boy was that an adventure, let me tell ya lol.

My weigh ins are going to be on friday now, so I cant wait!!

DeafinlySmart 08-13-2006 09:43 PM

Wilma: Coconut Milk? Tell me more!

omegabutt: rofl..that handle is too funny! Welcome.

PurpleCrush: I just posted something for you in one of your other threads. I just realized it was a Christmas Elf when I landed here. This is a good way to gte your motivation going!

Guys....I'm bored. I am ready for school to start so I can have something to do (work at an elementry school). Give me a month and I'll be screaming for vacation..lol

I could do tons of things especially cleaning but who wants to do that.

JennyDee25 08-13-2006 10:44 PM

K I'm bored still at my grandma's and nothing really to do!!!! However today I had a pretty odd adventure.....Let me explain! I am still outta town looking after g-ma, today I went to church with g-pa & my cousin stayed home with g-ma. Well guess what...This was a really odd day..my g-ma called the church and g-pa & I thought she wanted us to get her something..because she's great with her orders and she was already sending us to wally world :) after church....

But my goodness....my brother was the problem...he's supposed to be like 8 hours back home & I guess he took off her to the city with some friends! But my brother never never never goes anywhere like this..you really have to understand this part...like never! So needless to say the cops picked him up here in the city last night & he couldn't remember his name & was freakin out...and he ended up in the psych ward in the emerg @ the hospital! KKKKKRRRRRAAAZZZZY! Big sister to the rescue...geez now I know how it feels to be on the other end.

So my parents were freaked out and oudly my dad was being really nice to me! Which rarely happens...he even told me he loved at the end of our conversation...yup he loved me! I was so so F'in shocked...the last time he's told me that was ages okay when I was in frigen junior high!

Wow takes my brother to goof for me to get an I love you how Ironic is THAT? He told me...lol that this reminds him of me but only my brother is older...he's 21...I'm 26 & was doing this @ 15-18......

Anyways...that's that! He's sleeping passed out now...But he sure was on some good drugs...sickening...And he was trying to lie! Sorry buddy been there done that! At least he's safe

I really rambled this one on...but this was some excitement for my day...the bugger had no glasses, his cell, or wallet & jacket!!!! KKKKRAZZZYYY!

JasonsLea 08-13-2006 11:26 PM

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend.

GoingGoal: I love the poem! Thanks for sharing.

JennyDee: Family crazyness, don't ya just love it? Happy your bro is okay though.

Okay I remember why I started working on weekends: I was actually off this weekend and I spent the night with friends. Let's see, jello shots and chips/dip for two days straight. Alrighty. Back to working on weekends. LOL

NewDay4MeToo 08-14-2006 01:02 AM

Weekend is over

Hi Ladies

Thanks for the "protein hints." I am loving the recipes on here. I will need to get myself in gear and start trying them.

I really love the idea of eating nuts more often. I am just really bad about actually eating enough meat in my meals.

Sounds like people are doing really well!
Congrats on all the NSV's. I had a neat weekend. I went sailing in the middle of the night to watch a meteor shower. It was super fun. I ate too many baked potato chips, but I didn't binge. I kept it in control better than I would have before, so I'm pleased about that.

Happy thought for today: Not hiding from the cameras at Christmastime! We're going to be more thin and healthy, so we will want to smile fabulous smiles and show off for the cameras. ;)

JasonsLea 08-14-2006 01:19 AM

There was a meteor shower?! Wow, I've never seen one before. I probably couldn't see it down here anyway even if I had known about it.

Daisy Boo 08-14-2006 01:49 AM

well i had a dismal start to my challenge. a gain of 1.5lbs this week (i weighed in on sunday).

you betcha bottom dollar it is coming right back off this week along with another lb hopefully.

i hope everyone else is doing well ;)

Rosario 08-14-2006 08:59 AM

Don't worry about it Daisy!!! Just work at it and that 1.5 lb and then some will be coming off!!!

Well I am down 1.8 pound. It's not the 2 pounds I was going for but it's a start!!! And I wasn't 100% into my diet and excercise this past week. Wow, imagine what my loss will be if I give it 110%??? I am looking forward to finding out!!!

Hope everyone had a successful week. Can't wait to hear how everyone is doing!!!!

Chat with ya later!!!

sakuya3834 08-14-2006 12:10 PM

Great job on the losses everyone! It is a new week now and a new week to get butts in gear. I've been doing more cardio than I probably should this week. In ONE day (yesterday) I burned 590 cals and Sunday is usually my rest day. I haven't took a rest day in over a week now because I haven't felt like it. O_O I know you should take at least one a week but I've been having too much fun. A year ago I would have never thought I'd say that, hah.

annie175 08-14-2006 12:56 PM

Hello Everyone.......

Great job on the all the losses. You all rock!

My WI at WW is tonight, so tomorrow will be my official weight. I am feeling good about it. Probably only 1 lb, but I will take it.

My DS starts his senior year tomorrow. Boo who, he is my baby. Then he will be 18 on the 19th of August. Saturday. Gez I feel old. lol.

Stay focused.

Annie

purplecrush 08-14-2006 02:06 PM

I kept my kids up all night to see the meteor shower, but we couldnt see anything with that darn moon so bright!! They say next year will be better..I sure hope so!

Hope everyones having a great day!

DeafinlySmart 08-14-2006 02:57 PM

We weight was going up a pound every night. This morning it showed 4lbs heavy. At first I insisted TOM was coming. After a week I started to doubt myself. After all, I did splurge a little too much last week. My goodness, my scale was telling me a whole week in advance! It started this morning. Normally I wouldn't broadcast it but I was really getting frustrated with my scale even though logically I knew SOMETHING had to be up.

c_laura 08-14-2006 03:50 PM

DeafinlySmart: Don't worry it happens to the best of us. I'm sure that you can get it and more off.
Annie175: Good luck tonight.

Despite my intention to not weigh myself until I had a full week on P1 of the SBD I couldn't ignore the little voice inside my head that was telling me to just check. So of course I looked and I was 1 lb down. Not at exciting as 4 or 5 down, but that will happen. I'm excited about my one pound :carrot: and even more resolved for my P1 detox drop in weight.

willmakeit 08-14-2006 04:01 PM

Deafinlysmart: The tofu in cocnut milk tasted so delicious. I just added the recipe here:

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...t=53142&page=2

I did my running today. Ate sald for lunch! Planning to make hot and sour soup and a sourdough sandwhich for dinner!

Keep going everyone!

JasonsLea 08-14-2006 06:58 PM

Hi all! Congrats to all that lost this week!

Annie, tell your son to make the most of his senior year. As much as I wanted to get out, I actually miss high school now.

Okay I had a bad weekend food wise and TOM started today.....a definite gain for tomorrow!

DeafinlySmart 08-14-2006 07:11 PM

I've actually never HEARD of coconut milk. I"m assuming it is the white stuff that comes out of coconuts..lol. Where do you find it?

smolderingvixen 08-14-2006 07:13 PM

Hey there girlies,
Sounds like some folks had some excitment this weekend. I actually had a manic house cleaning attack and had all of my kids and my sister come over for the extreme makeover...lol. We moved everything out onto the deck, shampooed carpets, changed some and painted the living rooms and two bedrooms. I didn't eat that great but not too bad either. When I weighed in today I was the same so the exercise and the food must have canceled each other out. At least I have a super clean house and a fresh start for the week this week.
purplecrush...glad your bro is ok....aren't little bros fun?
Daisy Bo...I bet next week will be a great one for you too...

Great job on the challenge to everyone else...keep up the good work. Leslie

n2luvnlife 08-14-2006 07:29 PM

Okay, I had a great weekend visiting family in Maryland and the Crabs were superb. I weighed myself today - Haven't lost a pound - haven't gained a pound. Followed my diet perfectly last week and worked out to schedule.
What gives??? :?: Well - I am still going to stay focused and great job to everyone who has lost.

Today - haven't gotten as much water as I should. I am trying to make it up now. Hope everyone has a great week.

Amany 08-14-2006 09:21 PM

I'm on page 7 of all your posts. I'll pick it back up tomorrow....:dizzy:

I just joined today. I'm very excited because 40 pounds would put me at 196. That's only 6 pounds shy of my first goal of 190 opunds. This will certainly help me stay on track!

I am low-carbing. To make a long story short I took Atkins and tweaked to suit myself better. So the way I'm eating right now is almost the way I plan to eat for life. The difference is that I'm not yet eating legumes, fruit or starchy veggies. But all in good time. I have a looooonnnngg way to go.

I got fantastic news today. I usually only weigh myself 2x a month. I hadn't planned on weighing again until 8/25. I wanted to start this challenge off right though. I found out that I'm down 2 pounds since 8/10!! :cb:

I look forward to getting to know you ladies. I'll be posting often!

BTW Rosaio, we have the same goal for Christmas. I'm going to try and keep up with you girlie!

PinkSnowDays 08-15-2006 05:17 AM

Hey I also just joined and am catching up on all the chatter! What a great group of women! Can't wait to get to know you all better!

girlieyorkie 08-15-2006 07:38 AM

I've just joined as well.
I have been off the wagon and I have gained 5 pounds of the 15 pounds that I’ve lost after I started dieting (yet again) in January. So I’m really going to try to get motivated before I gain all the weight back and then some.
I got back on the wagon sunday, and now it’s tuesday morning and I’m down 1.3 lbs., so another 3.7 lbs. and my tracker will be up to date. I decided not to move my tracker as an incentive to work harder and I definitely will try to lose the other 3.7 lbs. ASAP. I have signed up for the 20 lbs. challenge, but together with the first 5 lbs. that I have to lose I will actually be doing a 25 lbs. challenge.
I hope to get to know all of you better.

DeafinlySmart 08-15-2006 09:13 AM

Amany, PinkSnowDays, Girlieorkie....Welcome! This is becoming my favorite thread because everybody is so talkative. I applaud you for joining after we've already reached 11 pages. HAHAH, I always feel so intimidated to join a thread that long. Really we just started. The more the merrier!

Pink, what does that name mean? PinkSnowDays?

For the rest of the room..I wish TOM would hurry. I know its only been 2 days but I gained 4lbs before it started and I'm up another 1.5lbs this morning. I know most of it will go away when I'm done. I just have to make sure I eat good this week to make up for last week. I hope I didn't do too much damage last week. My stomach is cramping so I'm starting light with a banana. Ive been getting my water in this week. Love that. That's a fairly new habit in my weight loss journey. I started out less than a month ago putting 4 bottles of water in the fridge (equalling 64 fl oz) and telling myself that's not much to drink. It really isn't. I find if I start the day and end the day with water, it's very easy to get. Now sometimes I have more!

sakuya3834 08-15-2006 10:14 AM

I have not gained anything yet for TOM (crosses fingers) but I haven't lost anything either. The good thing about it is I usually have a big loss the next week (1.5-3 lbs... yeah not big for some people but big for me). I've been exercising more than usual this week and trying to up my average calorie intake by about 50 a day to take the extra calories I'm burning into consideration. The week is still young so we'll see what happens.

annie175 08-15-2006 10:44 AM

WW weigh in confirmed my 2lb loss to 267, very happy with that. I am going to journal this week to see if I do better. I think sometimes my memory fails me with how much I have eaten for the day.

It is also TOM for me, ole Auntie Flo should drop in about Thursday or Friday. Thank you Jesus.

Have a groovy day.

(((Hugs)))

Annie

Ice Princess 08-15-2006 11:21 AM

I went for my run this morning and I was running for 90 seconds straight this time then 2 min walk...wow I couldn't believe I actuallly ran for that long...When I first started out last week at 60 second running I was so tired by 20 seconds...now I didn;t start to feel tired until the 50 second!
