purplecrush 08-17-2006 03:48 PM

DeafinlySmart-

Ouch! thats not good! I walked a mile last night, but I did it slow and my foot was wrapped up and it doesnt even hurt today. Im going to try to walk another mile tonight also. Ill rest tomorrow lol

babybelly 08-17-2006 03:51 PM

I have learned that having a newborn can really cause you to lose weight, especially when daddy is at work all evening and it really takes two hands to fix a meal. Last night I had a smoothie for dinner.

bopis21 08-17-2006 04:32 PM

Can someone pls give me a kick in the butt so I go to the gym tomorrow??
Just something to get me inspired when the alarm goes off at 5am.
Thanks.

Famous last words especially for us moms. Name your favorite relax treat. Mine is an afternoon at a bookstore by myself.

willmakeit 08-17-2006 05:58 PM

Hey bopis21: What really helped me to go exercise is making some special allowances like.. I only get to read those crappy fashion magazines while I am in the gym or I only get to listen to my fav radio station while I am running...If I dont exercise, I miss these and trust me that really helped. I havent missed a single dfay in last 2 weeks except my break day ofcourse!

So I already did my runnin 1 mile and yoga in the morning,so now I am free of guilt for the day! Had a slim fast cookie bar for lunch (I love these new ones esp the choc chip cookie bar)...

Keep going everyone!

n2luvnlife 08-17-2006 07:12 PM

Hey chickadees!

Tree you will be missed, talk to you Sunday. Have fun in MD. I know I had a great time in MD last weekend. I am going to the VA Beach this weekend with the girls.

So hard to keep track of everyone on this thread. LOL I hope everyone had a great OP day.

I did well today. Drank all my water, went to the GYM - just had dinner. Oh- hopefully will make it through the night without too many cravings. Kitchen is closed until husband has to come home and fix himself something to eat. He works too much! Then we he gets home - I feel like I have to go see what is up and graze. What is up with that?

TTFN!

Nightkatt 08-17-2006 09:03 PM

Well it hasnt been a wonderful week for me .. my 15 year old daughter ran away on Tuesday (got her back Wed fortunately) but that really fouled me up .. although I didnt really cheat while she was missing .. I just didnt eat ... I did have some chicken breast that had been rotisseried tho for dinner to keep me going - no skin. I am giving up Jenny Craig (finances) and will be counting calories really .. actually ... its more a case of just watching what I eat and eating healthier and smaller portions. BUT today was my final weigh in on JC and I am down another 2lbs!! Very happy considering the week rofl ..

Yesterday I did Turbo Jam for the first time .. did the whole of Learn & Burn .. not overly co-ordinated and had a couple of moves I just wasnt quick enough to do but I kept moving to keep my heart rate up for the whole time :) Then did the warm up part before I went to get ready for bed (almost midnight) ... then I put the Pilates Zone dvd into the machine in my bedroom thinkin I just want to see what its like .. and ended up doing the 10-15 minute routine .. and OMG .. My ABS!!! OUCH OUCH OUCH .. and here I was thinking they no longer existed under all this fat rofl .. WRONG!! So Im a little sore today ... but will see if I can do a little of the TJ later cos my legs and arms are feeling fine lol .

Better go get some work done .. Happy Day All and stay OP ... Good job for those avoiding those bad moments .. and dont beat yourself up if you indulged .. its a lesson .. learn it .. then move on :)

GoingGoal 08-17-2006 09:21 PM

Back to work this week, school is in. I have been able to stay on my food plan but I have no energy right now to exercise. Ughh, the first month of school is always crazy and exhausting. Hoping the scale will be kind to me next Monday.

DeafinlySmart 08-17-2006 09:23 PM

NiteKatt: YOU ROCKED considering the week. Man, I would have had CHOCOLATE or at least mindlessly nibbled or some fast food. I hate that you are going through all that turmoil. It is wonderful that you've established enough habits that you dont' completely go off the deep end with food when something happens. If this didn't do it, then I would say you have accomplished alot! Then to top it off, you did EXCERCISES? Enough to make you SORE! WTG! Nothing like sore muscles to remind you of your mission. COongrats on the 2lb loss. I'm still waiting for TOM to disappear. My pounds are coming down.

bopis: I don't think I could be inspired at 5am. Kudos to you.

Babybelly: I ate like I was still preggers so while I might have been running around due to my newborns, I wasn't losing! Kudos to you too.

My favorite is sitting in my PJ's next to a warm fire holding a good book and a glass of Kahlua and cream with no kids around to butt in. :genie:

I'm pretty sure a fire would be too hot about this time of year. :D Perfect for Christmas though. I do my book reading in a hot bath. I don't do nearly enough of it anymore. I used to LOVE to read books. Now i sorta find it too long to hold my interest. It's the weirdest thing.

So it sounds like overall everyone is doing awesome! We really are AWESOME look what page we are on already! I think we are gonna have to start weekly chats to keep the pages number down. WOW!

So I am home! I am HOME! My grandma Is doing very good! I am happy I got to help her out! I am really happy to be home with my kids! I missed the mommy mom mommy! But at the same time it sure was a nice break! Back to the good old ways! Cooking cleaning and I am doing my walking with the kids! It is awesome, we went for about a 90 walk yesterday and now today about 2 & 1/2 hours! This is awesome...they go on their bikes and I truck behind them!

They great motivators..they were begging for me to take them today again...so off we went...the only thing that sucked about it was it was so so windy!

My scale was good to me when I got home from my trip! It was at 172! So that is nice! I'm back on track now!

NOW FOR MY LADIES!!!!!

Treecongratulations on your new job!!!!! :carrot:

Nightkatt-sorry to hear about your daughter...It sounds like how I was when I was that age! They do seem to out grow that stage at some point! Lotsa  to you! Congrats on the eating...WAY TO GO!

Angela-lol newborns sure are alot of work...definately a good workout doing the things yah need to do...however very important for you to get your rest in while you can...lol as they grow they get far more demanding!!!! Hey MOMS out THERE??!!

PurpleCrush-ouch sore feet suck! I broke my ankle in 3 spots 2 summers ago playing baseball...I have pins in my ankle now..I even broke my leg! So please keep it easy...I still wake up everyday in pain and I have pretty much constant pain every day at some point! But running and walking have really helped it out! I should have been doing this sooner!

Courtnie`Sorry to hear about your boy's car!!!Always ups and down in the road no matter what! It sounds like you have some ups coming your way this week! Have fun GURL!

Wilma- I so fluctuate everyday! From 3-5 lbs sometimes a little more or less! All depends on the day & what I ate, drank and did!

OKAY MY FRIENDS this is really long...I'm sorry! I feel I have completed my up-to-dateness! So off I go to do one of my favorite things sleep with my window open and covered in a nice warm fleecy blanket naked!!!!!! lol

I love love love grabbing a Starbucks and reading Nora Roberts books in the bathtub!!! I dont do this as often as I like anymore (well since school) Every single time I get in, one of my kids knock on the door and say...."mooooooooommmmmm" UGH

I didnt walk a full mile today at my daughters practice..after 2 laps my foot started throbbing on the top, so I called a night lol..I just sat and watched her practice, which I prefer anyway..not to slack off on exercising..I just like watching her learn new things so she can practice at home and stuff.

Im gonna go to bed early tonight and try to get the kids to bed by 9. School starts in 3 weeks ( I cant wait!!!) Last night I stayed up till 3am finishing a good book I was reading..boy did time sure fly by!!! I didnt even know it was that late!

nymmy 08-18-2006 02:47 AM

hey everyone.. I finally got around to reading (OMG!) this thread. We have been uber busy, trying to find a house to buy, the kids, H is going to work far away etc.. but my eating and exercising has been awesome!
Im glad to be here, seems like an awesome chatty thread, I wish i had gotten in in the beginning, but I am here now!

ArtsyGirl 08-18-2006 08:05 AM

Wow, I'm gone 5 days and this is crazy. I'll try to read through this later today, but I'm posting now to get back into things.

I did the Breast Cancer 3 Day walk over the weekend. It was INCREDIBLE!!! I was a crew member and did route safety on my bicycle. I rode about 100 miles and got to cheer on everyone. It was so much fun. Can't wait to do it again next year.

My exercise has been ok. I am having a problem with my toe/foot being numb since yesterday. I intentionally gave myself a day off with ice/elevation to try to fix whatever is causing the numbness, but to no avail. Its still numb. I walked my 4 miles this morning, and it didn't get worse so thats good. I've got a 5K to run tomorrow, and this is really freaking me out. I don't know what is wrong to make this happen. Anyone got any ideas????

Well, I have to go. I'm playing a service at the Lutheran home this morning and need to get cleaned up.

sakuya3834 08-18-2006 11:35 AM

heh I fell behind on this thread too! Wow. I have still lost nothing this week... I'm also experimenting with eating more since I burn 2400+ calories a week and was feeling weak on 1200 so I'm afraid I won't lose anything! But we'll see as the weeks go by.

Today I'm planning on running for 40 minutes.

To the poster who asked about weight fluxuations, (I can't remember who anymore, lol) my weigh can fluxuate 5 lbs in a given day. It depends on how much you've ate, drank etc. It's best to weigh yourself at the same time every day. I prefer first thing in the morning before I drink/eat and after I go to the bathroom. That way you're measuring more of your actual body weight and less of the temporary stuff in it.

I have Morton's Neuromas in both feet. It's pretty common. I got mine from injuring my foot then walking funny during the healing process (instead of wearing a post op boot or something). I also commonly happens with people that wear tight shoes, pointed shoes, or high heels. Basically its a growth on a nerve between the last 2 toes. It gets squeezed or rubs against each other. That's just ONE possibility. Obviously I'm not a podiatrist. I do recommend going to see one. I suffer from numbness (and my toes will even get really cold when it goes numb) and some pain when walking or doing other excercises (though most of this has been reduced through physical therapy and BETTER SHOES). Icing it and maybe some motrin type medicine (if it doesn't conflict with any other meds you may be taking) is a good first aide trick. The next step is reporting it to the podiatrist and see what they say about it all. Good Luck.

DeafinlySmart 08-18-2006 12:54 PM

BTW, TOM isn't winning. I finally got down and PAST my original weight before TOM hit. I lost .06lb. TOM hasn't left yet,so I wanna see what kind of presents he gives me when it is all over.

sakuya3834 08-18-2006 12:56 PM

Grats on the loss even though you have TOM! I wish TOM wasn't winning here. :-\

OBsMama 08-18-2006 01:40 PM

Wow, this is a busy thread but because I committed to join, I am posting my holding fast for this week. No gain no loss. Well, probably a loss considering last weekends mini vacation hot dog and bacon fest at my parents.

I have been very good this week with food not so good with excersize but that is next weeks goal to get at least 40 minutes of good excersize in every other day.

I was able to stop myself from making some eating mistakes by FitDaying some items and looking on the companies websites. The morning bagel sandwich that I allowed myself once a week is 600+ calories!!!!!!!!!! I ate half and the other half went to the mailroom boy.

Well, I am cheating work and leaving a little early.

Have a great weekend,
Amanda

gremlina 08-18-2006 01:45 PM

Another lb. loss. Yay!

nymmy 08-18-2006 02:54 PM

Im sooo busy today, but I am forcing myself to go to the gym right now for an hour and get it done with! Its my only little block of time today! Yay!

DeafinlySmart 08-18-2006 08:10 PM

I was joking when I said I wanted to put all the elves names in my signature so I could keep track of it, but then I decided to do it. WOAH! There are so many names that the names alone (no other info) could not fit in the signature area EVEN when I took out my ticker. I'm gonna post it here once so we can get to know each other!

In an attempt to get to know each other, I'm gonna suggest a GAME!

Notice 1 (or 2) things about this list and comment on it. THEN...Tell us 1 (or 2) things about yourself others may not know.

ssqtwife: I notice you are spouse of the military. My husband just got out of the military about 4 years ago. He is now DOD. He was prior Marine. What branch does your hubby serve in? P.S. I miss the perks especially community closeness, but not the danger.

WillMakeIt: I notice the names end at "S" then a bunch of letters go by and you end the alphabet at "W". Is your real name (you don't need to give it to us), at the beginning, middle or end of the alphabet?

Me: I have 3 beautiful boys 3, 7, and 10.

JasonsLea 08-18-2006 08:14 PM

Hi all! Congrats to EVERYONE who's lost or had a NSV or just had a good day! TOM is finally gone and I am very happy. Whew! This thread is SUPER busy! I can't keep up!

DS ~ I can't think of any questions right now. Today has been a busy day. Something about me? I'm 20 and I just learned how to drive. :)

nymmy 08-18-2006 08:54 PM

There are no L, Q, U, V, Y, or Z names... Im not surprised about some.. but no L names? Weird!

The kids and I (DH is gone for work) ate ice cream for dinner. It was awesome! I have absolutely no urge to binge, which is very odd for me. I have been doing really well lately.. I hope Im not jinxing myself by saying this.
I actually weighed in at 206.0 this morning, which is the lowest I have been in like 6-8 weeks :) I have yo-yoing between 206.4 and 211.2 for weeks and weeks.

owira 08-18-2006 09:45 PM

waves and contrats to everyone on their great work! ~ok so i went to my first WW meeting yesterday .. eep! .. and then when i had a ton of questions about it all .. storms came thru and wiped out my internet satellite for the last 24 hours .. sighs .. talk about withdrawals!
Sooo i put on my game face.. and dove in ..and if i must say so myself .. i did great today! still have 4 points left to spend for the day which i am saving for some fat free popcorn durin a movie here in a bit.. which will still leave me 2 .. so i was very conservative today just to make sure i could budget all my points which i have found .. if i think ahead .. and plan .. i am more than able to do so .. also i hit the grocery store and had my list and bought things that are allowable ..even some fruit! *gasps* I think i can live with weight watchers cause its program is made to live with me .. and with 2 teenage sons in the house .. i have to be able to make anything and still enjoy .. just gotta budget !! any tips or suggestiosn would be great!!
p.s. i hope to catch up soon on all these posts... it don't pay to lose internet for 24 hours with ya'll!!!!!

willmakeit 08-18-2006 10:12 PM

Did my running 1 mile routine! I had a slice of apple pie at Marie callenders. I dint know they had a "no sugar added" one too! Wow, I really liked it! infact I liked it better than than the regular one with sugar! The natural sweetness of the apples felt so good!
I wont call it cheating because it was just one slice and second I had a small salad for lunch yesterday and today!

My weight is just stuck on 147 for whole last week....

Keep going everyone!

HI everyone! Today was good all around...exercise in 40 mins run/walking it was awesome today! Had a b-day to go to for the kids and I didn't eat too too crazy which was really really good...I had the will power!

I seemed to hurt my foot today! Odd since I was talking about it yesterday and here I go hurting my right foot...Geez I think I've been stretching the muscles and tendons by running and all the scar tissue is starting to loosen up from the extra pressure of the running...which is good because I should have been doing exercises for my foot a long time ago like when I was going to physio! Now it looks like my 2 feet have the same degree of flexion now..which is so awesome because it wasn't like that before I started this running 2 weeks ago!

So what I noticed is that there are 60 of us challengers! WOW!

I will have to get back on the 2 things about 2 people!

But for me I am 26, going into my 4th & final year of BN nursing...I have two beautiful children..my boy 7 and my girl 4..and I am currently in a long term relationship..3 years in october and I'm WAITING FOR A RING!!!! LOL!

owira 08-18-2006 11:08 PM

now if i was any good at names i would remember who i wanted to reply to .. but hopefully ya kno who ya are

Glad your daughter is home safe and sound .. and i hope it all settles down quick for you.. am sorry ya have had to go through that .. :hugs:

pink!- have a great trip .. gl catchin up on 3 days when you get back! i had hard enough time with 1 day!
JennyDee- take care of that foot! ya doin so great .. hate for ya to have an injury set back

willmakeit- i have found those no-sugar-added apple pie's at the store and prefer them to the ones that are sweetened and stuff..which is great..since i am a sugar hound!
ok .. will try to keep up tomorrow!

Well another 3.8 lbs bites the dust!!!

Amany 08-19-2006 08:06 AM

Just wanted to check in say hello! I don't weigh again until 8/25, but I see some differences. My mid section is getting smaller and, thanks to Pilates, I'm toning and getting stronger.

nymmy 08-19-2006 10:36 AM

I started this last week at 209ish and this morning I weighed in at 204.6 eek
