Sure. I will say for this week I notice that if I stay home my diet is excellent (I eat 6 mini meals..I only log 4 of them max on the smilies because some of them are tiny). IF I stay home my excercise is nonexistent. If I go out into town, I get tons of excercise and have tons of energy but my diet stinks! I need both for good health. Dieting (for me) is what loses my weight. In the long run though I want to be healthy.

Hello everyone! I am new here, my name is Kim and I am trying to lose 60 pounds!~ THis challenge seems to fit me so I appreciate you letting me jump in! I am a mom, teacher, and wife - I have the summer off so I am really concentrating on getting back on track before school starts again! I do well with the food but I need some major pushing when it comes to exercising! So here I go - for yesterday

Post:

So how did I do? Hope I did this right - I am hoping exercise will be up there with a smilie today - going to take the kids to the zoo and walk, walk, walk!

I work at a deaf school in a 1st grade classroom. I actually do much better with excercise and routine when I'm in school than out. It is good to get in the mindset before school starts. My biggest weakness is just buying their lunches instead of making my own. At home I do much better with my diet. One trick I use when I'm in school is wearing a pedometer. Mine looks like a cell phone or wallet so people will ask. I've gotten people to join me when I'm walking at recess (while keeping an eye on the kids). It also keeps me standing up and moving even more than I normally do. I also have a friend who is my excercise buddy during the school year. We usually only manage the gym 2 x a week, but it is great to have someone along. We go directly after work.

I also eat 6 mini meals a day. I find this easy to do in school too. I work for a residential school so I have 1 hour breakfast duty as well. I eat there (my weakness since I should bring my own), we have snack (elementry school and I bring my own), we have lunch (weakness, I typically buy BUT I do bring my own dressing to school and leave it there. If I don't like their food, I eat their salad), and then I eat another one with my kids when I arrive home. Then supper..you know the rest of the story.

I am doing alright, I guess. I just feel kind of exhausted of my eating pattern though. I practically eat nothing during my work, well, maybe some fruit. Then, I get home, eat a normal sized meal and that's it. It's leaving me a little angry, especially since I feel like I may not be getting enough calories. Anyway, that's my little story. Here are my smilies:

Exercise:
Meals:
Sleep:

Today's total: 5 x
Total total: 42 x

Today's weight: 143.5 lbs

planning is half the battle. It's hard because we are used to having the info at our finger tips.

Try writing a list of no prep foods you like for snacks so you can figure out some snacks to buy on your next grocery trip.

Also make a crock pot meal and take leftovers for lunch at work.

Eat a peice of toast or two with your favorite topping (my current favorite is double fiber nature's own wheat with cherry butter ..found at a roadside stand). That will give you something for breakfast that takes VERY little prep time.

Take canned stuff to work and leave it there. That way you have plenty of choices when you need them and they don't go to waste when you don't use them. I currently am very happen eating a can of beans. HAHA! Very filling, about 300 calories and loads of FIBER!

Put nuts (portion controlled snack packs work best) in your desk.

Find strategies to work for you instead of worrying EVERY day what you are going to bring TODAY. That won't work for many.

Post Most definitely!!

I keep forgetting to drink my water! Exercise not the greatest but there was some (better than what I have done for the past two weeks!) I was so excited for skinless chicken legs bbq and my hubby did not cook them enough so I couldn't eat them - I know feel cheated and am restless to eat junk - but so far I am resisting!!!

Wink Good Evening

Hi everyone,
Today for me was ok, I was very hungry. I blame it on not haveing a good breakfast. I had a go lean bar... I was hungry 1.5 hours later. My week has been ok. I have been walking 2 miles/ 40 minutes everyday, and then doing a tape alternating yoga & weights. That has been great... now I need to write down what I am eating... a visual. To keep me in check with my eating.

So my totals today:

water:
exercise:
meals:
sleep:
post:

10 smiles

I hope you all have a great night... keep up the good work to you all

Posting alot makes me feel guilty for posting a smilie for each post.

My excercise has been nonexistent.

I will offer this suggestion on the water. I put 4 water bottles (totaling 64oz) in the fridge when I first get up (or right before I go to bed). My goal is to drink those 4 before the end of the day. 4 isn't an overwhelming number so when I look, I see fewer bottles and it doesn't seem so bad. I started doing that at the beginning of this challege because I wasn't getting a smilie for that either.

I took the kids to a historical home/museum dated pre-american revolution. It is geared toward kids. It was FUN!

Hi everyone,
my day was ok, I weighed in today and only lost 3/4lbs... I was very disappointed and shocked. I am now going to change some eating and write it all down... something must change. I have drank my water, exercised and gotten my sleep... I actually just realized I totaled my sleep wrong... I was only giving myself one... oh well. I binged tonight... the mental part of dieting got to me... although, strangely enough I am not furious at myself. I am sad, but I am excited for starting again tomorrow. I am going to bed so I will not eat any more, plus I am exhausted....
well here goes.

water:
exercise:
meals: (it was after my meals that became an issue)
sleep:
Post:
weight: not a full pound

35 + 11 = 46

Thank you all, I will check in tomorrow.

Merrick-

Sorry I guess my post was confusing. When I looked at the original rules it was 2 smilies for 8 hours of sleep total. I didn't sleep 16 hours...someone let me know if I'm doing this wrong. I definitely see how you could interpret my post the way you did. I'm glad that you are playing with us...I'd write more but I'm off to church.

have a great day!!

Oh and changing subjects slightly (note from my previous emails for total smilies for the week) my complete totals for this week are:

24+31=55 smilies
