Good evening! So far today has gone pretty well for me. Although I didn't get up as early as I had hoped to. My food has been spectacular so far, but the toughest part of the day for me is the evenings. I've had toast, an egg salad sandwich, and some fruit salad. Supper is going to be refried beans and rice. I'm not feeling to energetic to make a big meal.

I tried to go for a great walk after work. Turned into only 1/2 a walk. I took my pooch with me. And wouldn't you know it, a dog was running loose around the neighborhood. So we turned tail, and made a bee-line back home. I had my pepper spray in my hand the whole way. I'm not up for a dog fight tonight!

I suppose I should go make my dinner. I'm starting to get famished. I don't want to wait so much that I go overboard!

Default Monday Evening

Evenin' Chickies...
Today was an ok day. I say that because I'm not sure what I even ate. I didn't snack, but after breakfast, I just kinda-sorta kept track of my #'s. So I'm gonna start right out with what I ate since b-fast and then get to the other stuff!

Lunch: Cobb Salad at Mc Donalds w/ 1/2 the dressing
Snack: 1/2 apple & 1 tsp. peanut butter
Supper: 2/3 cup brown rice (the slow cook kind), 3-4 oz. chicken & about 1 & 1/2 cups of a mix of summer squash, zuchinni, carrots & onions all sauteed with the chicken! It was yummy!

I'm guessing I'm under in my protein tonight! I really have to work to get my protein up during the day. Does anyone use protein powder??? Just wondering where to get it, how to use it, etc.

I did the WATP 4 mile tape today! YES! I did the whole thing again! I wanted to quit at about 2.5 miles when they were doing the 8 bazillion leg lifts in a row on one leg!!!!! YIKES! Leslie has waaaay more energy than I could ever dream about! I want to look like the chickie in the back with the tan legs and the thong bikini on over her leotard! I told DH that and he just smiled! So, the power walk was out when DD said she didn't want to ride her bike! So Plan B!

So chickies...

Lucy...Glad to hear they didn't find anything major...yet! I've been meaning to ask about this medication that made you gain 100lbs! Geesh! How awful and please tell us what it is so we don't have to ever come in contact with it! And I know you will get your exercise in tomorrow...I would consider 4 mile walk exercise, though! Maybe not aerobic, but you were moving and that all counts! Good job!

Lisa....tzzzt! OK...that should do ya for today! Chickie...you were doing so well! I'm sure the stress of rush hour traffic with 3 boys in the car didn't help your appetite! You are forgiven but NO MORE REESES!!!! OR HOMEMADE BREAD!!!! Yikes, chickie! Moderation....moderation....moderation! That's your mantra for the week! Got it? (Remember those 5 lbs.!)

Mary...glad to see you are back among us! We've missed you! Hey chickie...sometimes you can be with your family in spirit! I told you that you inspired me to call my sister and I did! She made a cherry glazed ham...all for herself yesterday! I wish I lived closer to her, so I know how ya feel about being alone during the holidays! Feel better, ok?
And way to go on the avoidance of the nasty, evil chocolate! I am proud of you!
As far as that new middle #....seems we are all working on that! Me too! I weigh tomorrow, so will let you know, but I will be sure to steer clear of you til you get that #!!!!

Mama Jennifer! Thanks for always looking out for all of us! We missed your inspirational words yesterday! I went to work looking for the pizza lunch and apparently, it got changed to later this week! Darn it! Now I will have no excuse to leave when it's aromacizing the room! I can smell it now! I will just plan to bring a lunch all week (duh...like that's anything new! ) and eat my lunch. I avoided pizza on Friday with "the girls" in the break room at lunch, so I can do it again! I seem to be ok if I bring my lunch and just plan on that! Hope you did your exercise tonight, chickie! I'll be checking with ya!

Dolphin...(aka Carb Junkie ) Glad you are still with us! Sounds like you have all the inspiration you need with all those cute clothes! You'll have those pounds off in no time! Rice & beans sound good...but is that all you've eaten today??? Girl, you are gonna starve yourself!
As far as the walk with the doggie...our little neighbor girl (she's 13 now) came over to take our dog for a walk the other day (she's been doing this for years) and one of the neighbor dogs was loose and attacked our dog! Tasha (our dog) got a little cut near her eye (puncture, probably) but the neighbor guy came out right away and then called hubby about it. I wasn't home at the time! I don't think Tiffany will be walking Tasha anytime soon again! Poor girls!

Thanks to everyone for the compliments on Kaleigh! I think she's pretty cute, too, but then...she is!! Anyone else have pics to share??? I'm waiting for the legs to get a little tanner and toner to take a pic of the swimsuit! But I promise, I will...later this summer! It's still cccccooollllldddd here in Michigan with promises to warm up to 70 this weekend! We'll see!

Have a great night!

Red face Monday Evening...

Evening, ladies! Got home from work, and hubby decided he wanted to eat out. Cuban...ok, I can be really good there....

Dinner:
1 chicken breast sauteed with onion (gave the onions to hubby) and fresh lime
1/2 cup white rice
1/2 cup black beans
6 tortilla chips
diet coke

Ok...that's very manageable- I will expect a little blip up- just from the salt,
and the white rice instead of brown.

Confession: Today, at work, I got into the red lollipops. Out of stress, and stupidity and lack of willpower. I had a huge bag of them (working on goodie bags for a first time homebuyer class) in front of me, and instead of letting out a primal scream at having to redo something for the 4th time in as many hours, I didn't think- I reacted on auto-pilot, and before I knew it, I had lollipops. Just the stupid, little kid, not fancy blow pops, or tootsie, just stupid little sugar discs on a stick.

Of course, it's not a huge transgression, but it was an automatic response to the stress of the day- I've worked hard to reprogram, but it seems there are still a few bugs in the program. I must be running a Windows program here. Needs some patches....a service pack or two....this head is not fully foolproof yet. Anyhow, not a blowout by any stretch of the imagination, but still, needed to write it out, and be accountable for it.

Now, the stupid things are locked away in a drawer with the rest of the marketing/class stuff, where they will not bother me. Of course, for the next few days, I am going to be sugar-prowling and craving, so I need to be super-vigilant, and notice these things before they show up in my mouth.

Ok, chickies..time for the bike- I may have to pedal throughout CSI Miami tonight to make up for dinner out (can't control what they add to the rice, or beans, or chicken when they cook it) and those fricking lollipops.

Have a great night....here's to better tomorrows and a fresh outlook. (And the alarm cranked really, really loud!)

Gotta check back in for a minute because I forgot something important: I did 30 minutes on the bike last night, an UB workout with light weights, and 80 crunches (LUCY - WATCH OUT!! he he!! )

Tonight - I did 35 minutes on the bike, and I am about to begin my crunches.

Feeling good about my exercise chickies. Just take a look at my entry tommorow - I promise my food will look perfect. Today, I did good at both breakfast and lunch - just went a bit over the top at dinner. I am staying away from my relatives' cooking for a while. I am not made of steel, and it is not good for my new way of eating to be constantly in contact with bad foods. Grrrr......... stress go AWAY!!!! Grrr........bad foods GO AWAY!!!!!

Have a good evening!!! Have a good day tomorrow!!!!

Alright chickies...I did good today with food for the most part, as reported! Until about 15 minutes ago. I was walking through the kitchen and noticed a mini Butterfinger in DD's Easter candy...so I opened it and started eating it! Of course I finished it! Now, what's up with that?

The good news is I washed it down with 32 oz. water in the last couple of hours...and I now want to go to bed!!! slosh, slosh! <sigh> Can't win!

Have a good night all! (and i was so hoping for a new middle # tomorrow at the scale!)

Isn't it amazing how these things just "jump" into our mouths and are swallowed before we even realize it???

Well I'm back, ya'll miss me, I've been bad not checking in, but I've stayed on target with food and exercise, my folks called at 9pm Saturday Night to say they were coming for dinner on Sunday (they live about 1.5 hours away) and I'm thinking I must have been sleep walking when I did that invitation, but it is ok, since we do that to each other all the time. I jumped up and ran out to good ole "Wally world" and got more veggies and stuff. For easter dinner, we grilled lean, no fat visable, pork cutlets (about 6 oz each), and vegtables, I cut up yellow neck squash and the Zucinni, with whole mushrooms (stems removed) 3-5 gloves of garlic sliced and a sweet onion, then I add in about 3 tablespoons of olive oil, and then do a nice spray of that great stuff PAM, then I toss it all up and cover and let sit. Then when it is ready to grill, I use one of the tin foil pans that I punch holes in for cooking on grill (no clean up, just toss) this will serve 5-6 easily and is very low in calories, the oil mostly cooks out. Also, I spray with PAM again before I toss in the pan, and then I spray the top too. This helps with any sticking problem. My family loves this and it is very good and healthy so I'm in luck there. I also made an orange suace with Splenda, didn't tell anyone and no one noticed, and brussel sprouts. For dessert we had baked granny smith apples with Splenda and cinnamon, with no-fat, no sugar ice cream. I was under calories by 200, if you can believe it. I didn't eat the apple though but I did the ice cream. I figure for a holiday dinner I stayed on track pretty good. I bought DH and DS, sugarless candy (only the kind I didn't like) for there easter baskets, plus swim suits and game software. NO choclate in the house, no tempation for me and everybody was happy!

I weighed yesterday morning, and was down another 2 pounds since Wednesday. I was so tickled I wanted to dance a jig. I have continued to do well with my water, I got a bigger class that holds about 16 oz and I'm drinking about 4-5 of those a day, plus I am still exercising every day and yesterday I moved up the time to 30 minutes on the treadmill. So the increases of 5 min each week have really made the slide up very easy. Remember my dress idea, I look at that while I walk and boy does that get me very determined!

Reading all of your posts sounded like ya'll all had a good Easter too. I know holidays are tough with the food preparation and candy everywhere you look and it seems ya'll all survived, which is a challenage in itself, good on ya!

Hikin, glad to see you didn't hold a grudge, but can't blame you for wanting to tell them to stick where the sun don't shine. I have quite often been disappointed in my fellow woman because of the cattiness I have seen them display versus support, I'm so glad we don't do that here! Thank you all for being the kind supportative folks you are.

Lucy, let us know something as soon as you do, will have my fingers crossed and put good luck prayers on you nightly!

Sassy, welcome to the best club in town, I know you will love everybody cause they give, and give!

well I need to get all things caught up this am before I hit my treadmill.

34 pounds to go, till I get myself in that "little ole black dress"

Cool Tuesday...

Good Morning, chickies....well, it's nearly afternoon, but I'll squeak this in under the wire.

Super-busy day here at work...unreal, I tell you! I can't wait until "lunch" so I can head outside & sit in the park...just get out of this office and be free of the aggravation.

Food today:
Breakfast:
1/3 cup smart start
1 pineapple cottage double
12oz diet coke

Lunch:
3/4 cups taco meat
1 oz shredded cheddar
2 6" low carb tortillas (usually use 1 8" low fat, but ran out!)
1 6oz cup sugar free hot cocoa

I'm under on my #s...was too full to add the cheese to breakfast, and tossed a little bit of the tortillas- too much empty tortilla at the end of the rollup when the contents were spread between 2.

"24" is not going to be on tonight, so my workd won't come crashing to a halt at 9pm to watch that...guess I can get on the bike, or do something else to occupy my time....

Back in control today...no deviations....staying the course....and working hard at this. Time to hit the park and soak up the fresh air & change in atmosphere...I'll come back with a different frame of mind.

Ouch- I burned myself when I was nuking lunch- the stupid baggie got stuck together, trapping steam, which got my thumb when I tried to release the seal. Yowwwie! So, I have ice on it, and will keep putting cream on it this afternoon, until I can get home & put silvadine on it. I swear, I'm dangerous...keep your distance....lol!

Have a great afternoon, everyone!

Ahhh I FEEL AWESOME!!! *roars with the energy and viciousness of 1000 lions!* It still hurts like mad, but I don't care anymore. Who the **** does my reproductive system think it is, anyway?! I AM in control of it, after all. And I say it's not allowed to whine all day ANY MORE. (I have put the smack down, my dears).

So... yep! I got up at 9 today, and vegged on the couch for about an hour. Then I made a pot of coffee, took my vitamins & diet pill, and got ready to go! My stupid allergies are making it hard to breathe, though, so I hafta take it a bit easy today w/ the workout. I haven't had breakfast yet, but my tummy is not hungry yet, so I'm not gonna force it.

Since no actual diet plans work... I've decided to only eat when I FEEL hungry. Then, my body will be telling me when I need food, instead of me forcing it. Since I've been eating so often, it has a pretty nice little schedule down. When I get hungry, I'll eat something healthy, slowly, until I don't feel hungry anymore. That's the plan. Simple, but sometimes simple works a **** of a lot better than complex. Especially with me.

So... workout today:

25 min fast-paced cardio stepper w/ 15 min of free weights to work on my upper arms (which look beautiful, if I do say so myself!)
500 situps
and a 1.5 mile walk tonight w/ hubby & dog, if no rain. Looks good!!

Food today:

B - 1 cup cantaloupe, 2 slices toast, and something protein-filled, like meat or cheese.
L - Not sure? Hmm... something yummy, though.
D - Quite possibly hot dogs (no bun for me) and some veggies.

I am allowing myself 10 malted milk balls per day as snacking material. That's considered 1 serving, according to the bag, and it's got 190 cal with those 10. That ought to keep my mouth happy when I need something, because I suck on them until they dissolve.

Anyway, I've done baout 6 min. of my stepper so far, but I needed to stop and breathe -- stupid trees anyway! I'm back to the grind, now.

I have noticed something, quickly. My arms look AWESOME. Not like they aren't still too big in the back side of them, but they LOOK good, even though they have a little extra on them. THe fronts and backs of my shoulders have noticable muscle tone. Poeple have actually commented on this! Ego boost!! Also, my legs have changed their shape quite a bit, even if they still don't really fit into my favorite 32x30 jeans (which I WILL be wearing by the end of this darn summer!!!). Aside from that, my ankles are cu-ute!! My lower arms are beautiful once again, but they never really got any of my weight gain on them? That's what weird weight gain does, I guess. My abs are looking better, although that tire around my center is still pissing me off to no end. When will these situps work?! Augh! (I know, last to go...). My butt is looking a little better, but I am seriously looking into some exercises that will make my butt and upper-back-thigh separate from each other. I happened to like my butt a lot more when I was 16, ya know. (Didn't we all?!)

Julie - I was on massive doses of prednisone, which is an oral steroid. I couldn't breathe, so they had to expand my bronchials with it for 3 months. I gained just over 90 lbs from that. I'd gained the other 15 lbs from moving in with my now-hubby and finally being happy again. That 15 was normal weight gain. It was a good drug and it saved me from going on a ventilator, though. Just makes ya gain weight.

Jennifer -- be careful with that microwave!! I think you may have tasered yourself for no good reason! You are doing such a good job. I don't know HOW you can not eat the bad food when you go out. I just can't stay away from those chicken strips and fries, man!!

Maggie - you are awesome!! I love sugar-free candy. What a good job you've done with your kids, too! In the age when we feed our kids all sorts of crap and 700-calorie lunches at McDonalds, you are awesome. Your kids will be so thankful to have you when they grow up!!

Lisa - Oh, no!! I've got competition!!! Good job, chickie!! That is awesome!! Did you try the stretching thing I posted? If you did, man, I bet you noticed how much it helps!!

Ok, ok. i have to go work out, finish what I started. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!

Have an awesome Tuesday, chickies, and let's keep those butts in motion!!

LISA!!!!!!!! !!! WAY TO GO!!!!! That is AWESOME!!! *hugs* And I'm not really the queen, haha!! We are ALL queens, because we're all working really hard to get our bodies into awesome shape and live healthy lifestyles.

Ok I did my workout. Jello legs, I love thee. My arms are doing the same. I need to get some 4-lb weights to really wail on those fatty chunks on the back of my upper arms, darn it!! Hmm... maybe this weekend. I feel awesome, though.

I am going to be getting some form of new exercise equipment in the next month, here. I haven't ever used an ellipitcal (sp?) thing, but they look easy and fun. Has anybody used them, any good/bad comments? They are super-low impact, which is a big plus. I don't know. I'm torn. Our weird town has this gigantic city-wide garage sale on May 1, so we're going to go check around Millionaire Row (by the golf course), and see what we can find super early in the day, before the crowds get there. If I can find another bike, I might get that... because it's fun... but my poor butt! I'm not sure. Anybody have any recommendations for exercise equipment that you don't have to run on? (Treadmills are a big no... sorry. I can't run - ankles & athsma). Hmm. I'll be thinking about this for awhile.

Other than that, I am in the mood to babble. I think I'll go do that on the main journal site.

You guys are awesome. Always remember that we are beautiful, and that we are amazing, wonderful creatures. That means YOU!!

Hey Lucy...I gotta tell you- if you find a bike with a padded seat, it's a good investment, and if not, I found the solution to the @ss-ache...I take a small towel (hair dryig sized) and fold it over twice, and that makes an extra block of padding that protects the parts...lol...

Never used an elliptical, but I will tell you, I hate the cheapie treadmill we picked up at a yard sale a few years ago- it's got an incline you can't adjust, is totally manual, and sucks big time. I could walk for about 5 minutes before it killed my shins, and had me gasping for air.

WTG LISA!! How great to have a 4 pound loss after a weekend, and a holiday! YOU ROCK!!!

I am doing okay, my TOM is here, without warning, and I haven't even gained any, haven't lost either, so maybe when the yuckiness of being a woman goes away, there will be a few more pounds gone. I normally can't even get my jeans buttoned during this time of each month, so I am feeling okay today!!! If you gain or retain water each month, how much weight is it usually for you? Just curious.

I think we could move on to the Magnificent Mother's Day Challenge or something for May, since Easter is gone, I wonder if that keeps anyone new from jumping in.

I'll check back in later, kids are home and causing chaos!
