Thanks y'all for the congrats. I've been meandering a bit, but that should be my middle name. I need to get in here more often even if it is to cheer y'all on and not just bow my head in shame.

MomtoPandS - That is a wonderful net loss for the year! Great job!

Flower - I'm so happy for you finding a happy medium with your mind/body/etc. I'm with you on being more inspired to walk. I thought winter was over around here even though I know that we always get at least one more cold snap before Easter and that is what we are dealing with this week with ice pellets earlier in the week and possibly snow tomorrow so next week I'll be out of excuses. At least until the heat waves hit.

Carol - Wonderful that you haven't gained and for that you should be proud! I'm with you on not sacrificing, but giving up something for Lent to help me or my health. With that said, my water only Lent went sideways already. Your plans look good! I've put back my nemesis sugar favorite at least 3 times since they put them out. If they don't end up in my basket at checkout, I'm calling it a win.

L&L's Mom - That is outstanding that your now a year later numbers are so much better! Go you! I was looking back at my history also. Not on the threads, but in my Fitbit app and I was both happy and sad that I had stayed mainly in the 160's in the last 12 months. If I hadn't been so bad all the years prior, it wouldn't mean as much so I'm trying to embrace the improvement of not doing any MAJOR yo-yoing and staying somewhat in a 10 pound range for quite a while now. If only I had done that sooner. <sigh>

Hello all!

I don't really check in as much since there isn't that much to say. I can lose .6 one day and the next day it's back. My calories have been fine but I have been eating VERY high fiber to feel satisfied, fill my stomach etc.. but that doesn't always just show up on the scale the next day...your body has to "process" all that fiber. That and as I've said before I truly am keeping my calories at about 1800 which is enough to maintain 180 so the weight won't exactly fall off when I am at 187 or 188 depending on the day. Anyway, all is good!

flower Thanks! Congrats on continuing on in maintenance land. We know we all need to maintain this once we get to our goals. I am so glad we will have more daylight like you mentioned. Spring is almost here!

momtopands You are almost at 20 pounds! You've got this! Just keep plugging away and tracking your food intake.

Wannabehealthy I saw your stats looked like you are now below 189? I am a Christian but we never did Lent. I have read it takes three weeks to make a habit stick so maybe during Lent if you do give up sweets it will make it a habit. It's weird since trying to lose weight I haven't eaten as many snacks. I think of my calories for the day and try to plan the meals around it (and my coffee which is like a snack since I make it like an iced coffee with almond milk and creamer).

KStrong That's cool you can see your history on your fitbit. Me writing my weight on these threads lets me go back and see it for reference. I know what you mean about doing all this sooner. We are really in the same boat there. Everyone else is smaller when they are young and I wasn't. Now I am in my 50's and my weight is like it was when I was 18. It's crazy! Gotta be different I guess? LOL

L&L's Mom - I have a "smart" scale that puts my weights in the scale app.

Kstrong, I love your nerdy record keeping! I have a smart scale that syncs to an app, to Fitbit and also to MFP. I love it. I also have a weight loss excel spreadsheet on my pc. I recently noticed that its not working right. I hope I can fix it because I love it, too.

I have 5 or 6 Fitbits. There for a while I bought a new one every time they came out with new features. I am obsessed with gadgets. I won't buy any more now. There are 2 that I go between while one is charging. I also bought all different color bands.

I am losing much slower than planned but I'm losing. The past several days I've stuck to low carb and I'm down to 186. Again. Recycled pounds. I have to get below 179 for it to be new loss but I have no doubt that I will succeed. Normally low carb causes an initial whoosh, but I was relatively low carb before and I'm just a bit lower now. Today was 37 carbs provided I don't eat any more today. I do IF and today was 2 meals in 4.5 hours. Sometimes I'm at 6-8 hours but rarely more. I used to graze 18 hours a day. Big difference.

I have stuck to my Lent rule of no sweets except for 1 night I took too much diabetes meds and blood sugar went low. I ate 2 pieces of DHs candy. I am ok with this as I feel it was a medical emergency or could have been. Note to self: Eating lower carb means I need less meds.

Loganandlivsmom, I often feel that I've wasted so many years when I could have and should have done this years ago. I was 137 the day I got married 41 years ago. It was my fighting weight. I had been dieting to maintain it for 10 years. Unfortunately, I changed my eating to be more like DH. I KNEW it was wrong but it was so easy to just eat like him. Now that I've developed all these medical problems, heart disease, diabetes, some time I just want to say forgetit. But that's not in my makeup and I will forever keep trying. I hope you younger girls learn from my mistakes.

Hi everyone! I haven't been checking in as much since there isn't too much to say really weight loss wise. I know this is normal...the day to day living and keeping track of the calories and trying to get more activity in, etc...with that said the scale was 187 today...77 pounds! I am already thinking ahead to "maybe this summer I can be officially at 80 pounds.

KStrong I am proud of you staying in the upper end of your calories and not hurting your metabolism! The best part of that is that we aren't supposed to be as obsessed with food thoughts if we are getting enough to eat. If we feel we are "starving" we will constantly think about what we will get to eat next. Congrats on the 167's!!

Wannabehealthy I like the term "recycled pounds." It's still a loss, so congrats on the 186! We have to turn it around and say you didn't gain a pound and have to lose more. Thanks for sharing your history with us. I think it's harder for you mentally because you have an image of what it was like to be thin or average weight. I have always been overweight or obese so there is no wanting to be that weight again because I have practically never been there. I am sorry you are dealing with the health issues as well. I know losing weight will help you all the way around. You've got this!

Loganandlivsmom, I just noticed that we are the same weight with a 6 inch height difference. Yikes! I am not too fat, just too short!

Wannabehealthy That's too funny! That reminds me of a Garfield comic where he said... "I am not overweight, I am undertall."

Happy New Month!

ButterCup - great job!

Thanks L&L's Mom! I appreciate you!!! You are doing awesome! I bet you'll hit that 80 gone before the Summer is out. I've stayed 1500-1600 calories most of March and have managed to put on about 6 pounds somehow.

Carol - That is great about the lack of sweets for Lent.
I'm with you on the height vs our fluffiness.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am now at 79.4 pounds down. It dropped two pounds in a day. I was afraid it was a fluke, but it seems to be accurate. Come on .6...maybe I can be 80 pounds down before the Easter Bunny comes. LOL

KStrong Thanks for your praise! That's so sweet! I am sorry to see your news about a gain last month despite great calories and even carbs! I think your body is happy at this weight and it's going to take some serious exercise to shake things up. But really all we can do (as always) is keep doing the basics...track those calories-carbs and be more active if possible along with the exercise.

ButterCup85 Keep checking in, I agree checking in does help keep us accountable. You will be at 20 pounds down before you know it!

KStrong "The wind is windier than the normal windiness." Yes the weather has been crazy here too! I learned years ago that in April you can never tell with our weather. My son's birthday is in April. When I look back at his kid birthday party pictures, one year people are wearing sweatshirts and the next year they are in shorts. LOL

Hang in there with the cravings! Portion control is definitely the way to go. If you are dying for something then have a piece of it, track it and move on. Easier said than done though, I know!

I posted how I was down two pounds for seemingly no reason and it stayed. Now it seems to be right back up again. Ugg! I know it will go back down again that it could be water weight with too much sodium, etc...but I need to be real. I may or may not be at 80 pounds down for Easter but it doesn't really matter. When I was a teen and I gained I would basically give up and start eating a lot again. So there is that. Maybe some maturity?
