    Welp, first week of IF and 1.6 lbs down is pretty good! I did technically "slip up" a bit this morning since I was going to workout at 10am and I felt really paranoid about working out on an empty stomach so I ate a granola bar. However I'm going to stop eating tonight at 7pm to make up for it and not turn it into a cheat day, which is what I probably would've done in the past!

    This week is going to be challenging, on Wednesday it's my works Christmas party, on Friday I'm doing a Friendsmas and Saturday I'm going to a Hanukkah party. I'm just going to have fun and not worry so much and make sure my Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are good IF days.

    Oof! That weigh in hurt. Thinking about it logically I had both a good and bad day. The bad: had a Wendy's on the way home from my workout. I was just really craving a burger and I went for it. Probably didn't drink enough water. The good: I did a hard workout for an hour, stopped eating at 7pm even though there were so many things I wanted to eat after 7!
    Gonna try and drink as much water as possible today and hopefully start seeing a drop tomorrow. Gotta stay positive!

    A much nicer weigh in this morning! Unfortunately I had to break my IF rules tonight, my ride home ended up being 45 minutes late so by the time I got home it was already 7pm and I needed to eat dinner. Probably shouldn't have drank the iced chai I just gulped down...that's just me failing a bit! I'll probably have a bit of a gain tomorrow I'm sure, but oh well.

    I decided that I was going to stop taking a particular instructors classes at the dance studio, her style is just very basic and I feel it doesn't really push me. I'm sure if I could hold a plank for more than 5 seconds I'd get a better workout, but it's kinda annoying when classes rely on its students to be super strong in order to do most of the moves. She also does a lot of "superman" type moves in one section and I ended up really hurting my back yesterday. I don't miss Colorado much, but d@mn I really miss the fitness classes there, they are on another level! They'd show the moves but then walk around the class and correct peoples forms. I've not seen that here much!
    There's a class on Saturday's that I want to return to, I only did it once during my trial but it was super tough and I ached for a few days afterwards! It was a nice mix of yoga and pilates. I'm shifting my workout schedule a bit, but I'm hoping to do the cardio dance class Mondays and Wednesday, then the strength class every other Saturday (and try and do something like Insanity to fill in the gaps). Fingers crossed the teachers who teach the cardio dance class are good, because I really like the Sunday teacher. The Monday teacher is actually the person who came up with the program, so I'm guessing she's good!

    Hope everyone is hanging in there! I know this thread is basically a wall of Riestrella rant, but honestly checking in like this has really helped my journey and re-focuses me a bit.

    As suspected a little gain this morning. I'm kinda bummed because I wanted to go to the cardio dance class tonight, but instead I'll be going to my work Christmas party. I had to buy a new dress because I realized the last one I bought was a year ago and I'm heavier now so it probably wouldn't fit. I went with a simple black dress, I hope it looks ok! I'm sure it'll be a fun night, but there is a part of me that wants to really get going with my fitness and weight loss. I'm so fed up of catching my reflection in the mirrors at the dance studio and seeing someone way bigger than I expect. I think in my mind I always expect to see the version of myself that's around 170 lbs, but the reality is is that I'm obese again. It's upsetting to see myself this way, but also it makes me want to make changes too.

    It sucks that I'm experiencing these feelings of motivation right around the holidays! I just need to hang tight and keep on moving in the right direction.

    Weighed in at 147.5 this morning, which is ABOUT what I've been weighing in at since Thanksgiving. I really should just update my ticker at this point...since, well...updates should just be updates and I shouldn't feel ashamed. I've also been forgetting to input my weight into my app. UGH, I can feel my control slipping. This coming weekend + week ahead will be ROUGH; I have two family meals (dinner and next day lunch) this weekend, and then three holiday celebrations next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. YIKES! Then Saturday morning, we're off to honeymooning! I JUST...kind of lost motivation at this point, but I also know I should be good leading up to the trip since I will be All In...for the duration of the trip. HELPPPPP!

    Hey everyone! The Christmas party on Wednesday was fun, I wore the black dress I ordered. The XL was too tight on the chest but the XXL was a tad too big on the chest, I had to spend the night yanking up the front I wore one of my favourite necklaces, it's like a big lace style chest piece with loads of jewel looking things on it, I got SO many compliments! I was close to not wearing it, worrying that it was "too much" but I'm so glad I did because it made me feel pretty . Sometimes it's the little things that make us feel good and get us noticed vs. being X weight.

    Yesterday was our Friendsmas, I tried to make a gingerbread house but it was a bit of a disaster. I have made them before, multiple times, but genius Rie decided to try a different recipe and template even though I was making it short notice. I needed an extra day ideally, but luckily people had a fun night. We just chilled, watched a crappy Christmas movie (Silent Night, Deadly Night 2) and had some snacks.

    Today I went to a dancers stretch and conditioning class, I went to this one during my first month and it was the most challenging of the strength classes I went to. I think the routine is going to be the same each time, but the idea is to build up strength to be able to do the splits so I think if I keep going I'll get better. The instructor approached me after class and pointed out something I was doing wrong and gave me some really helpful tips. I was thankful because I had no idea I was doing the wrong thing!

    Intermittent Fasting has been off and on this week, with the various gatherings it made it hard to do since I don't want to starve myself. I've been holding strong at 193 lbs, although I'm always a little disappointed when I don't lose weight I should be happy that I've managed to maintain during a week of festivities.

    Next week will be my last week at home before leaving for Colorado. I won't be bringing my laptop and I won't have easy access to a scale, so I'm just going to do my best to stick with IF when I can, focus on portion control and get back on track when I'm home.

  • Riestrella: that necklace sounds gorgeous! I really struggle to find a dress that fits -- if it fits in the hips, it's too loose in the chest and vice versa. I invariably end up with two pieces -- I've got one clever two-piece outfit where the top and bottom match and look like a dress.

    A small 0.3 lb gain for week 2, it was a busy week and I did ignore IF 3 nights of the week and didn't get to do my cardio classes either so I'm not surprised about the small gain. I'm going to choose to be thankful that it was just a small gain

    Last night was one of the nights I ignored IF since we had friends over, I had a small bowl of salt and vinegar chips at about 9pm. This morning my weight is up a bit, but in a few hours I'm about to sweat my butt off in a dance class so I'm hoping that the workout + going back to IF today will help.

    gardenerjoy - Ooh, I never thought of a two-piece dress! That's a great idea. My waist dips in but I've got a large chest so it's rare for me to find anything that fits nicely without it looking either too tight or too baggy.

  • Hi everyone. I've been totally failing to check in. In fact, I haven't even been weighing in daily. I've still been just working too many hours to spend the time I was before focusing on it. When I have weighed in, I've been just hanging out in the 171 range, this morning was 171 even. But I've seen as high as 172.6, which is a full 5 pounds up from my lowest. When I saw that a few days ago, it kicked me into gear to start taking steps to make sure 5 pounds doesn't become 50. So I food prepped on Saturday for the first time in like 6 weeks and I've been making healthier choices again the last few days. I'd like to spend the last 2 weeks of the year making downward progress again to end the year on a good note.

    But I wanted to share an NSV I had today. I had to go pick up a pair of driving gloves and decided to check out whether there were any cute clothes since my closet is sort of Spartan still. My family doesn't exchange gifts, so no worries about buying something someone else got me for Christmas. There was a rack of really cute sweaters and I picked one up in a Large, and one in a Medium just because I liked the color and they didn't have a Large, so I figured I'd see how close it was. Note that I was a 2XL when I started. I actually decided that the Medium looked better on me (hubby agreed) and bought it in 3 colors.

    I'm a size 8 and a Medium! (at least in that brand/style) Down from a 18/20 and a XXL. Can't be sad about that. So yeah, even though I'm not at my goal weight, I'm really happy where I am for now. Just need to nip the 5 pound gain in the bud.

    Got a lot to do today! I need to do a load of laundry, go to the post office, drop off a set of keys to a family friend who is feeding our cats, pack for Colorado and hopefully find time to work in there. Oh and go to a dance class at 6:30pm. I'm a pretty slow paced kinda person so this is a lot for me haha. As soon as I get the errands done I'm sure the rest of the day will be fine, the kicker is willing myself to get started

    A nice small drop in weight this week, been slipping up a tad with IF but I'm determined to stick with it. I'm sure Colorado will undo a lot of the hard work! I'm going to try my best to stick with IF while I'm there, but more like - no snacking/soda after dinner.

    I'm unsure if I'll have time to check in tomorrow since I'll get home from work and probably have an early night. If I don't then hope you all have a great Christmas and I'll see everyone next weekend!

    Lacerta - Sorry to hear you've been so busy, but well done on kicking yourself into action! That's amazing how you're a medium now! I can't wait to start shedding off some X's from my clothes sizes!!
