I had another loss today and am the lowest I've been since last fall! Goodbye, indulgent Saturday nights. :D I'd rather keep up the progress than eat and drink whatever on that night. I think the extra steps I've been getting in are helping too, and now that I'm used to it, those steps feel routine and almost effortless. I'm so happy to be losing again.

My goal this month was 5 pounds. I'm a pound away from that and likely won't be losing that pound before the end of the month. But I will be losing it eventually!

Relativity is a funny thing. I'm so happy to be at my current weight now, on the way down, but when I was gaining the weight about 3 years ago, seeing this weight on my scale would've been alarming.

ophelia - Thanks! I really should watch Deadpool. I find Ryan Reynolds so likable.

ange - I'm so happy for you! You hit goal so swiftly!

kfunk - Thanks!

momtopands - Thank you. I'm insatiable in what I like to know :D so the more pertinent info, the better. What you said was incredibly helpful. I was having a hard time visualizing 40 lbs of chicken breast (wondering if I could squeeze it in my freezer), so I appreciated the heads up that a deep freezer or co-buyer would work best. Congrats on the continued losses!

yangtzer - Well done!

My apologies if anything I said was incoherent. I'm pre-caffeine and feeling it!

opheliaphoenix 05-28-2018 04:10 PM

Ange: Such nice drops this week...good work!! :yay:

kfunk: As long as you're okay with some foul or suggestive humor, you'd probably love it...Ryan Reynolds is the perfect actor for the character and really brings his personality to life, lol.

momtopands and Joe: Nice losses!! :cheer3:

gardenerjoy: I hit my month's goal on the 23rd! And, nice loss for you too, by the way! :)

Chunkah: He carries off the humor of the character so well that it's like he was born for the role...I think, if anyone else had played Deadpool, they would have come across awkwardly and possibly flopped the films. But, Ryan's delivery makes it hilarious! And, congrats on another loss and getting back to last season's low!

-----------------------------------------

Weight held steady at 175.4 again today, which means I only lost 1 lb overall this week. Still better than a gain, especially considering that my husband came back this week, we've been out to eat twice since he's been back (had Mexican last night, of all things, too...lol), and that I had a couple off-days with the water. The slower loss makes sense. However, I got my full gallon of water and all my steps in yesterday, and I'm planning to do the same today, so I'm hoping that means I can move down a little further over the last few days of the month. We shall see! :crossed:

gardenerjoy and Joe nice losses!

opheliaphoenix you're doing great! You're making nice progress through this decade!

chunkahlunkah It's hard to imagine at first but with group buying you can enjoy the savings, the best quality meats(they are delicious!) while stocking up! I now live in a house so I have room for a deep freezer and now i'm a Zaycon addict!

I kept my loss so i'm claiming it! I didn't think i'd be able to reach this month's goal but i'm only 0.5lb away! Here's hoping I can make it!

Ange- You are on fire!! I did pretty well this weekend and fantastic if you take the pizza and cheesecake off of last nights menu

Momtopands- Congrats on your big drop!! I hope that you are able to make your goal, you are so close!!

Lunkah- Wooohoo!!! That is awesome, keep up the hard work!!

Ophelia
- that sounds right up my ally! Hopefully adding in extra water will help move things along. Its nice you were able to go out and enjoy dinner with your husband and still stay at goal!!

Joe- yesterday was an iffy day for me as well, but like you, I am cutting back today!

Gardenerjoy- Nice drop!!

Nicoley- Hopefully the scale will start moving for you very soon.

I am pretty happy with how I did during the holiday weekend. I did not track WW points like I should have, but I ate like a normal person and didn't binge. Last night I ate 4 pieces (1/2) of a medium Domino's pizza and then a piece of cheesecake. I should have stopped sooner, but at least I didn't eat more.

Ange: How awesome!! You're killing it this week, as well. :cp:

Joe: I hope today goes a little better for you! :)

nicoley73: Here's to us both being able to move down over the next couple of days!

kfunk: I bumped back up today randomly, but sticking with the water and being on plan and hoping to move back down before month's end. And, holiday weekends are always harder on the tracking and staying on-plan...good job on not going into binge-mode because of it and being able to eat normally, and I hope the bloat from the pizza comes back down right away! :crossed:

-----------------------------------------

Weight went up a full pound to 176.4 today, but not exactly sure why. Yesterday was completely on plan -- I was on the low end of my calorie range (not even the sodium intake was high), got in a gallon and a half of water, and also got in a 3 mile evening walk. I could have pushed the walk a little farther, but the gain is still a mystery. Perhaps some pre-cycle water retention going on? I still have a full week before any of that, but I'm just throwing at some guesses for myself...lol. Or, maybe it's just a delayed reaction to the Mexican food on Sunday. Either way, hopefully I will be able to come back down before Thursday's weigh-in. It's like my body hit my month's goal to the exact ounce and has been toying with me ever since. :dizzy:

Ophelia I think the pre-cycle water retention may be the culprit for you. At least we will get our TOMS out of the way early next month!! I don't like it when things don't show up on the scale the next day, so if your bump up is related to the Mexican food you ate a couple days ago then that is BS hahah!!

It is safe to say that I will not be making my goal by tomorrow. I had a rough month with 2 full weekend long binges, so I will count my lucky stars to be back where I was before I lost control. I have been back on track for the past couple weeks so I know that June will be a better month for me. I am really excited to see what I can do without having the self inflicted gains!

Hi everyone,

Brilliant to see such an active community around weight loss support/goals and challenges!

How did you all get on with the challenge? I managed to clear 3kg (6 1/2 lbs) this month but stalled out this last week due to a few fun weekends (and a birthday:carrot:) haha.

I'll head over and introduce myself on another thread soon!

Hello one and all.

I didn't loose any weight this month. I did the typical up and down on the scale but as of today still at 150. At least it didn't say up for today's weigh in. Hopefully I will do better next month.

SW: 150
CW: 150
GW: 145

Good luck everyone

SnowMama 05-30-2018 03:59 PM

Wow, the end of the month has really been a roller coaster (of my own making). Still ended up down 1.4 lbs over the past week, but haven't gotten back to the dehydration weight for real. I didn't bike this past weekend, just got busy doing yard work and house projects, but ended up sore and sunburned anyway. Lol. I golfed in the 95F heat last night and frankly was a little surprised I didn't see a drop this morning, even if it was just fluid. I guess I was good with my water intake. :)

I won't be making my goal, but I knew going in that it was an overly aggressive goal (10 lbs). 8 lbs per month looks like my comfortable limit (so far).

It's much cooler today than it was yesterday, so maybe I can get on the bike after work. I'm still sore from my irrigation work, but I think I can push through it. Not inspired to run yet - which is very odd for me. I know I'll be much more comfortable running now than 15 lbs ago, but for some reason I'm avoiding it. The mysteries of the human brain...

Great work ange82much, gardenerjoy, and opheliaphoenix! I'm planning on joining you in red next month!

29: 171.4

opheliaphoenix 05-30-2018 04:44 PM

kfunk: That's true! I'd rather have it early in the month and be done with it than have to worry with any end-of-the-month bloating. And, I hope we both kick butt in June! :kickbutt:

nicoley73: Just keep choosing to stay on-plan, regardless of whether or not you feel motivated to do so or what the scale tells you, and it will all catch up with you! Fingers crossed that you will get a whoosh if you keep consistent. :crossed:

WillBoyes: Welcome to 3FC!

gardenerjoy: Thank you, and congrats on hitting your goal, as well! :cheer3:

wanttochange: Here's to no gain this month and to a better month in June!!

SnowMama: Thank you, and I am sure you will smash your goal next month! Have fun on your ride this evening if you're able to make it out!

-----------------------------------------

Down a little to 175.8 today, but not back down to my low yet. Fingers crossed I at least hit that again tomorrow! :crossed: Got in my gallon of water and more intense exercise for the day yesterday, as well as stayed on the low end of my calorie range, so I'm hoping that - if I do that again today - I will manage to bring it down. Also, my husband is back out for training again for another week and a half, so going to make the most of it, since it is easier to be 110% on track and not snack as much when he is out of the house. (Just trying to find the silver lining to all this away time from each other lately, lol.) I think a strong finish for May and a strong start for June would be a good thing to set the tone for my last month before I go back home on vacation.

yangtzer 05-31-2018 06:43 AM

Binged again last night. I have to find something else to do when I'm bored before bed.

kfunk6113 05-31-2018 08:12 AM

Nicoley- I hear you when it comes to consistency. You are right that you aren’t gaining, and you even lost some weight, great job!!

Will- Welcome!! I am looking forward to getting to know you next month! 6.5 lbs. is fantastic, great job!! What kind of plan are you following?

Gardenerjoy
- Congrats on hitting your goal!!!!

Wantochange- I hear you on the up down, hopefully we will have a great month in June!!

Yangtzer
- I am sorry to hear about your binge. What time do you go to bed? I know that it is almost impossible to stop a binge when you are in that mindset, but when you are starting to feel anxious could you try to go to bed earlier instead?

Snowmama- 1.4 down for the past week is awesome!! It sounds like you got plenty of exercise in without taking a bike ride. I have dreams of becoming a runner, someday!! My endurance is AWFUL, always has been, but that can be changed. 15 lbs. down is an amazing accomplishment!!!

Ophelia- I hope that we kick butt too!! Do you know what your goal will be? Nice job on the trifecta yesterday, I hope you see the payoff on the scale today! I am going to challenge myself to get a gallon of water in today; I have been slacking in that regard.

Ange- I am glad that you liked it!!

Kelijpa
- congrats on your loss this month!!

While I did not meet my goal, I am happy with how the month finished. It had the potential for disaster, but I am feeling very strong and haven't binged in a while. A no binge June will be my main focus and I am sure that will come with good results on the scale!

Kfunk6113 No binge June is an excellent goal. Feeling strong and happy with your progress is sometimes just as needed as numbers on the scale. Thanks for sharing, I’m super happy for you.

Nicoley73 A loss is a loss. Almost a lb a week is good progress. Hope you have another strong first week in June. :strong:

Yangtzer I’m with kfunk on the going to bed when you’re bored and having cravings. During the first couple of weeks I definitely employed this method with success. I also tried to tackle projects. Something that would distract me. Let me tell you, the grout in my kitchen never looked so good.

Ophelia It’s so much easier (for me at least) to stay on plan when I don’t have to worry about anyone else’s food choices. Most of my off plan was as a result of someone else’s dinner choices. Even though I love them and want to spend time with them. Anyway, sorry you’re doing the single mom thing for another week and a half stretch, but I like that you’re looking for silver linings. My brother was air force and I know his wife definitely had to put on her Wonder Woman pants when he was away. Lol. See you on the June thread!

opheliaphoenix 05-31-2018 03:04 PM

Here is my overview for the month of May! I ended up settling back on my exact goal again today, so I lost 8 lbs overall. I'm frustrated by the bouncing up & down and stalling I did in the last week, but I am thrilled that I finally hit a monthly goal again for the first time in MONTHS! So, I'm taking May as a win and hoping that June goes just as well or even better. See you all for personals in the next thread!
