Nicoley- Congrats on winning trivia!! Keep chugging that water and hopefully salt will leave and you will see a nice whoosh!
Momtopands- Nice loss this week!! Glad to see that the new range is working so well for you! Snowmama- Great job!! That is awesome that you are recognizing your patterns! I seem to lose in the same manner. Pulling your snowboarding pants off without unbuttoning them is a huge NSV!! Ophelia- Thank you!! You smoked it this week, congrats!!! You are doing sooooo well, awesome job getting your next dragonfly!! Ange- Sticking to the plan is all it takes, no enthusiasm needed! I hope that your scale gets its act together asap! ange82much: That is incredibly sweet of you to say, thank you so much!
nicoley73: Thank you...and, congrats on winning the Monday night trivia this week! Nights out like that sound like they would be a ton of fun. kfunk: Thank you...you've done great this week, too! :cheer3: Fingers crossed that we can bring this success with us into the upcoming weeks, as well. momtopands: That is great!! So happy to hear that your daughter will be coming home today! :yay: ----------------------------------------- Up a smidge to 176.6, but less of a bump than I expected and still under that pound line, so I get to keep my new dragonfly for another day. I got in a little bit of extra water yesterday - about 5 liters in total - so, I'm happy about that, too! Just did a 4 mile walk last night and will probably do the same tonight...maybe a workout video if I can get some privacy with the TV, lol. I also need to remember to do my physical therapy stretches tonight -- I've forgotten for the last couple days straight! :o Hope everyone is having a great day today! Week Four 22: 176.6 23: 24: 25: 26: 27: 28: ---------------------------- End of Week Three: 176.4 Total Loss for Week Four: |

Hubby's away for the next couple of days though, so I should be able to be ultra boring with my eating, eat when I want, and not get distracted. I'm running out of inspiring ideas as to what to eat these days too. I'm happy enough to find something meal-to-meal, but would like to get a few batches of things made and bagged up for the freezer. Problem is what to make that will seem different but appealing!..... Feel like I've overdone the cabbage/pea/turkey based thing, the tomato/olives/fish based thing, the chicken/mushroom based thing. Any ideas welcome!! Still fancying a foray in to eggplant which I've not cooked before so perhaps i'll have a go with that this week. |
momtopands- How exciting that your daughter was able to come home last night? How was her first night home?
Ophelia Awesome job on your walk and your water intake!! ange I have always heard that the last few lbs. are the slowest to come off. Don't think of it as failing if you don't make it, timed goals are really difficult because you can't control what your body decides to do when it comes to the scale. You have already noticed a difference in the way your clothes fit, so that is a major NSV!! I really love taco salad, all the taco fixings with no shell. I haven't had that in a long time so I think I am due. Last night my husband made a really good meal, super simple too. It had cut up chicken breast, broccoli, and rice. The sauce for it had a little bit of peanut sauce, soy sauce, honey, and a handful of other spices. I can get you the recipe if you want. Also, there is a Moroccan chicken he makes that is delicious. It has chicken breast, rice, chick peas, tomatoes, and more stuff for the sauce, let me know about that one too. I love roasted peppers, onion and Italian sausage with a little bit of parmesan cheese. GW: 157.8 5/17: 161.6 5/18: 160 5/19: 159.4 5/20: 159.2 5/21: 159.8 5/22: 159.2 5/23: 159.6 |
My guests are gone this morning, and I don't have anything social planned, and my period should be arriving any minute. So I have no excuses left, and hopefully will stay on plan. Yesterday I ate a giant costco muffin. For no reason really, and then I felt sick.

Kfunk Our first night home was not too bad. She's not liking some of our "new normal" but everything we're doing is to help her. No teen likes that anyway but I'm the mom so that's the way it goes sometimes.
Ophelia You're starting out the week right and i'm just amazed at how far you can walk. So far the farthest i've walked is 1.7 miles but that's in addition to my daily boot camp workout so i'm improving! Keep it up and you'll see some progress again! ange I have also heard that the last bit is the hardest to lose but you are doing well. We will be celebrating with you! Well i've been down the last couple of days but I think TOM is slowing the progress. I am finally back down to my lowest from last week after the gardening marathon and it's sticking. I forgot to weigh today, so I thought I'd do personals instead!
momtopands: I hope the reunion with your daughter went well! opheliaphoenix: I ended up with a long walk late yesterday, too -- it felt great! ange82much: I had some success with caponata when I grew eggplant. It froze well and was yummy as a sidedish or a sauce over all kinds of things. kfunk6113: Your chicken with gussied-up peanut sauce sounds amazing. nicoley73: Commercial baked goods make me feel horrible, which doesn't stop me wanting them -- amazing. I am gradually getting better at reminding myself at the right moment that this treat is not worth it for many reasons. |
ange82much: I eat a pretty boring array of meals, so no help there, but I hope the last week of May goes well for you! :crossed: Kfunk's words are spot on about everything I've ever heard about the last few pounds, as well...even if you don't make it exactly on time, I definitely wouldn't consider it a failure, either!
kfunk: Thank you! :) nicoley73: I hope the uneventful day today helps you stay on-plan, as expected! And, about the muffin, I have had similar experiences where I have eaten something kind of (or very) unhealthy that I've eaten in the past with no issue and then become nauseous or sick after eating it. It's funny how our bodies will acclimate to things that are so rough on our systems over time! And, I was always wondering why I never felt very good most days back then...lol. :dizzy: momtopands: I'm glad that things with your daughter being back home are going well so far, despite the inevitable adjustment period to the new stuff. I hope it continues to go smoothly and that TOM is nice to you on the scale, as well! gardenerjoy: Evening walks are my favorite! ----------------------------------------- Weigh-in was 175.4 today, which means I hit my month's goal -- for the first time since January! :yay: It may pop up a bit tomorrow, because I was out in the hot sun for over an hour today waiting in line at a emergency pickup** today, so I may be a bit dehydrated despite the extra water yesterday. I also tried a bellydancing video last night, and I had no idea how weak my arms and core were until now...it was way more intense than I expected it to be! Or, maybe I'm just that out of shape. (** The emergency pickup was because there was a bomb threat at our daughter's high school this morning, so they evacuated the entire school out to the district office parking lot across town...and, it has been a FIASCO. Literally thousands of people in line outside of the building, wrapped around and through the parking lot and even out and down the main street it is located on. I started feeling faint - similar to the day I actually ended up passing out and didn't want to risk anything - and our toddler started throwing a fit, so I had to leave and will have to return in an hour or so to get her when it starts clearing up. Many parents were doing the same thing, especially after there were other parents there starting to yell and cause a commotion. It is a circus out there right now. All is well, though! The kids are all safe, and I don't know if they even ever found anything on campus or if it was just someone pulling an incredibly stupid, illegal prank to get out of class.) Week Four 22: 176.6 23: 175.4 24: 25: 26: 27: 28: ---------------------------- End of Week Three: 176.4 Total Loss for Week Four: |

kfunk oooh, the peanut, soy, honey sauce recipe sounds delicious. Can you share? (I haven't really been eating rice, but would just substitute other veggies instead). Sounds yum.
thanks GardnerJoy, i'll look up the caponata too - I've never heard of it, but sounds perfect if it's versatile to use in different ways! I did roast up some eggplant yesterday though, with leeks and capsicum, and a load of herbs, and a tomato/garlic sauce. It was a bit of a make-it-up-as-you-go kind of dish, but was good! thanks momtopands. Great to hear that things are improving for you. Congratulations on the new low!! nicoley hope you're back on plan today and feeling good again hi kelijpa! looks like you're close to target for May. Great work! wow Ophelia you're flying through the 170's!! Nothing to report from me. Still at 56.0kg this morning. Night time here, so maybe when I wake up i'll see the magical 55.X...……………………………………………….:joker: |
Nicoley - Hopefully it will be easier now that your guests are gone.
Momtopands- She will get used to the new way of life and settle in. Once she has kids of her own she will realize that everything you are doing was to help her get better. That is awesome that your low is sticking!! Gardenerjoy- I also have a difficult time with baked goods like that. It’s a huge victory that you have been successful at reminding yourself that its not worth it! Ophelia- YAY on reaching your goal, that is amazing!!!! I am so glad that the bomb threat at your daughter’s school ended up being a false alarm. It is so scary what goes on these days. My 1st grade daughter knows way too much about school violence than she should at this age. Her teacher had explained what happened most recently in TX and why the lockdown drills they do are so important. I hope that you didn’t get too sunburned waiting in that line. Kelijpa- Look at you! You are close, keep up the hard work! ! Ange- I hope that when you wake up you get a new number!! When I get home from work I will get you that recipe!! Holding steady right now.
I love eggplant with garlic sauce. I make it with the thin japanese eggplants - I can get them at our farmers market. I eat it over rice but you could eat it plain or over cauliflower rice. gardenerjoy - I love caponata! I learned how to make it from my dad. When we were kids, my siblings and I hated it at first and would obnoxiously refer to it as "craponata." ;) Then, it was like a switch flipped for all of us around 12 yrs old, and that's when we each started loving it. I've never tried freezing it. That's great to know that it freezes well.
nicoley - Mmm, that recipe looks really good! I'd likely eat it like you do, over some rice and omit the pork. ophelia - Congrats on hitting goal! You're doing so well! Hey kelijpa, good to see you and great progress. Good luck with the 55.x, ange! momtopands - Congrats on being back to last week's lowest. Those fluctuations can be so annoying. I hit my month's low over a week ago, then bumped up a couple pounds, and am now back to that low. Good luck on sub-254! Waves for all! |
kelijpa: It's nice to see you again! And, thank you!
ange82much: A little hiccup today, but hoping to be able to get it moving back in the right direction...at least after this weekend, if nothing else. kfunk: I'm glad it ended up being nothing, as well! I remember having a threat or two even back when I was in high school, but it was always someone being stupid and just messing around. When she first called, I wasn't too worried because bomb threats usually turn out to be nothing, but - when they were actually evacuated and bussed off campus - I got a little worried. But, with everything going on in the world today and all the stuff in the news, they felt that they had to do the max protocol, just to be on the safe side. Which I can understand, considering. Just crazy that we have to assume the worst these days. And, unfortunately, I did get sunburned! I was hoping I wasn't out there long enough, but no luck. It fully developed last night, and the back of my neck and my arms are pretty red. Thankfully, my face and chest are just a tiny bit pink, because I was facing away from the sun as much as I could. I would have brought sunscreen if I knew it was all going to be handled that way, because I burn so easily...I should probably just leave some in my car at all times! nicoley73: I may have to try it that way...the only time I have ever tried eggplant, it was cut really thick and was still very slimy in texture, even cooked, so I wasn't a fan. It also didn't seem seasoned very well and was kind of plain. I love garlic, though, so I'm sure this would be an improvement either way! Chunkah: Thank you! Hopefully I can get it back tomorrow, since I did bump up a little today afterall...lol. I'm happy to know that I was able to hit it, though! :) ----------------------------------------- Between not being able to sleep until almost 4am last night and rehydrating, my weight was up a bit to 176.0 today. But, that's okay...I know that I've hit my goal for the month, so as long as I can get it back below that line this week, I will be happy. Also, I won't be able to do a weigh-in tomorrow, since I will be out of town picking up my husband from the airport at my usual WI/lunch time....I'm incredibly excited to see him, but I know we'll be going out on a date this weekend to celebrate him being back home, so I'm hoping I don't undo any of my recent progress in the meantime. Going to do my best! I will check back in with you guys on Saturday. Until then, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your week! Week Four 22: 176.6 23: 175.4 24: 176.0 25: 26: 27: 28: ---------------------------- End of Week Three: 176.4 Total Loss for Week Four: |

Momtopands 40 lbs is amazing, congrats! Glad your daughter is back at home and acclimating to the new normal.
Ange82much Committed but not enthusiastic seems like a familiar description of me at least once a week. Lol. Kfunk6113 Excellent progress, I think you’re going to beat your goal this month. Nicoley73 You won trivia and you didn’t go up. I consider that a double win. Hope you’re feeling better after the giant ball of carbs. I hate it when you eat something that tastes so good and then you get the food hangover. Blah. I had a bite of my daughters doughnut and regretted it immediately. Ophelia Congrats on hitting your goal for this month. I had a drop that I knew was due to dehydration and wouldn’t stay, but it was nice (and shocking) to see on the scale. Definitely motivating! You’re doing really well this month, excellent work. 21: 174.4 22: 173.8 23: 173.8 24: 171.0 25: 172.4 This week has been really crazy, band concerts and work events in the evening, super busy during the day at work. We had a records request from a client that sent everyone in to a tailspin, and simultaneously trying to finalize contracts on a project that already started. It’s been…a week. Stayed on plan every day except for Wednesday, when I drank my dinner at the work event. I should have had something to eat, but nothing really sounded good. When I got home I drank some water and went to bed. Woke up to a 2.8 lb (water) loss. Last night had a salty dinner (zucchini noodles, prosciutto, green olives, tomatoes, garlic and a smattering of fresh parm) so I wasn’t sure where I would land this morning. It’ll even out this weekend I’m sure. |
Happy Friday!

Really well done! :cheer3::cheer3::cheer3: snowmama hope you can find a bit of chill time this weekend after being so busy. Finishing contracts after the project starts is sort of something i'm trying to do at work at the moment too - doesn't really help with negotiations!! Nice work with the food discipline this week :) I've dropped a smidge again 55.3kg now :D Think i'm going to head to the shops today and see if I can find some 'bottoms' to fit! I've got a pair of jeans that are a tiny bit big but comfortable, which I like really, and a new pair of black jeans that are good, but more for going out, and that's pretty much all that fits at the moment!! So I wouldn't mind getting some trousers of some sort, and maybe even a casual mini-skirt to wear with black opaque tights/boots kind-of-thing. We're going in to winter here, so thinking warm stuff! And Vivid started last night. It's a light festival that runs in Sydney every year where they light up the city with different light effects on different buildings and interactive displays etc. It gets bigger and better every year, and it's only about 40min walk to get to the Opera House from our house and plenty to see on the way, so think we'll go have a look this evening |
ange so exiting you're down past your goal! :flow1: Enjoy maintenance. Those pictures are absolutely beautiful! I have always wanted to visit Australia, maybe one day......:cloud9:
Still holding onto my 40 lb loss in spite of a slight bump up but I'm not worried about it. I walked outside and did 45 minutes pulling weeds in the garden this morning so i'm having a good day. I did have steak last night, they finally arrived! I ate more than I should have so now i'm back to proper amounts, lol. We also got beef roasts so i'm going to make that today. However, I snacked on the car ride back a little more than I usually would and I also only got in one bottle of water all day yesterday (only 2.2 liters), so I'm hoping that I will see some more movement downward tomorrow after being more on track today. We are going out for that dinner and movie tomorrow, though, so I'm really hoping I don't do too much damage right before the final weigh in of the week on Monday...I'm going to do my best to go light on the meals and get in my workout out of the way in the morning beforehand to help prepare for it. Week Four 22: 176.6 23: 175.4 24: 176.0 25: NWI. 26: 175.6 27: 28: ---------------------------- End of Week Three: 176.4 Total Loss for Week Four: |

Vivid was good. An outrageous amount of people in the city though! Had 3 glasses of wine and a burger (less the bun, less the chips) over the course of the night, so not really part of the diet - more my transition to maintenance weekly treat! Plenty of walking though. We've got the lamb roast in the slow cooker as well today so will be going easy on volumes there.
Bought this suede skirt, but in black. Should be useful for putting with heaps of jumpers/tops. Tried a few trousers on too, but nothing was great, and I really wanted to get new bra's, but really really I don't like shopping, and it was too much effort, haha, so didn't bother and was home within an hour! Another time..... |
This is my first post-party weigh-in where I haven't gained a pound or two of food/water weight in I-don't-know-how-long. :D I even went down a few ounces!
ange - Wow, Vivid is stunning! I love that skirt. I know what you mean about shopping. I've never been a fan myself and prefer to keep my excursions short. yangtzer - Good streak! ophelia - Enjoy dinner and the movie! momtopands - Do you order meat from a local farm? I've been considering ordering meat from a place like that. Snowmama - What a week! Did you enjoy the concerts? Have a great Sunday, all! |
Ange: That's a cute skirt...and, I hope you're able to make another trip soon to get the pants/trousers and bras you need, as well! :)
Chunkah: Great job at the party and being able to see a loss instead of a gain afterward...that is awesome! :cheer3: ----------------------------------------- Weigh-in was down a bit more, back down to Thursday's low of 175.4. Considering that we ended up having a change of plans and doing the dinner and movie** last night instead of today, I'm just happy to see it come down - even just a tad - instead of bump up! However, yesterday was even lower on water, so I'm making that my main focus today since I'd been doing so well with it before my husband got home...lol. We will see what happens for the week's final weigh-in tomorrow. (** In case you were wondering, we saw Deadpool 2, and it's been a long time since I have laughed that much or that loud in a theater...lol.) Another swoosh this morning and I don't know whether it'll stay or not but i'm right back completely on my graph trendline now. Another week I reckon, max two, and i'll have enough wiggle room to experiment with proper wiggling (maintenance)! |
joe great job the last few days, keep up the hard work!!
Ophelia Nice drops!! I have heard nothing but good things about that movie. I have yet to see the first one, but would like to! ange Congrats on your latest swoosh!! Do you know how low you will go for wiggle room before you switch to maintenance? Cute skirt!! I need bras as well, but like you I am in no hurry to go shopping for them! lunkah :carrot::carrot: WAY TO GO!!! hi kfunk I want to get to 54kg because it hits a few milestones: it's a new decade for lbs (119), its 25% weight loss for me this year, it get's my BMI to 20.X, and historically it's a target I've had for the last 25years whenever I've been on a diet (which I've managed to reach occasionally, last time probably about 6-7 years ago, but never stayed more than about 6 months at...... ) . How have you been going? Did you emerge from the weekend unscathed?

Chunkalunkah I order my meat in bulk from a company called zaycon fresh. You can look them up online. The company is out of Washington state and they are basically a coop of farms all across the country offering farm to consumer meats throughout the year. They started out offering boneless, skinless chicken breast(40lbs at a time) and bacon, and now they've grown to all kinds of meats from ground beef, to steaks to cod, salmon and shrimp(all wild caught) and the prices are outstanding. If you don't have a deep freezer you can get together with friends/family to order. More than you probably wanted to know but it's more than worth it. You can put your zip code in the search there and see where the nearest pickup location is in your area.
I'm surprised that I dropped again today though I didn't eat to the top of my calories yesterday. Today I did so we'll see if I get to keep this loss. 22: 254.2 TOM 23: 254 TOM 24: 253.5 TOM 25: 252.4 TOM 26: 252.9 TOM 27: 251.3 28: ---------------------------- End of Week Three: 254.4 Total Loss for Week Four: |
