hello all, I am back. sorry for not posting for a while. I have been eating like crap the whole month. ice cream, chocolate, pizza, fried chicken, you name it. I sure enjoyed them, but not happy about my buddha belly. lol. Rome is not built in one day, I need to get back on track before it's too late. congrats on all your progress. Joe

It happened once before (March, also for no reason), but normally I've been really steady with the weight loss. Sort of frustrating, but then again I can't complain :) but then again I will - I don't have any jeans that fit... or trousers, so think i'm still losing size even though the scales aren't complying! Going out to a ball/presentation evening for end of season football awards on Saturday, which isn't super dressy, but I still don't know what to wear (and hate shopping). Hmmm. I'm definitely at that stage in life where I want to be warm enough and comfortable walking around so guessing with all those factors in mind i'll just cobble something low-key together! |
Ange !!!! Yay. Have fun at the Ball

ange82much: Thank you...I'm happy to be able to see them again! Have fun at the awards presentation, and congrats on the size-loss NSV! :cheer3:
kfunk: Thank you, and here's to us both hitting our water goals today!!! (As always, pretending those are water bottles...you think that would be an option on a health-related forum, lol.) I'm sorry about tomorrow's DietBet -- that's always a very frustrating feeling -- but I bet you'll be able to smash next week's DB weigh-in out of the park! nicoley73: I'm glad the scales are moving in the right direction for you again...nice loss! :yay: momtopands: Thank you! flower1: Thank you! And, I'm glad the water increase is helping you, as well! Joe: Hey, Joe...nice to see you again! Glad you're back here with us and getting back on track! ----------------------------------------- Weigh-in was down to 178.8 today, but I did weigh-in about two hours later than usual due to a physical therapy appointment this afternoon (trying to figure out that numbness in the lower leg still), so it could very easily pop back up a bit tomorrow. Hoping that - with exercise and keeping up with the water - it won't bump up too terribly much. Enjoying the number for today, lol. kfunk well done you for still being sensible amidst your off-plan eating. I can start asking you for maintenance tips now! |
Yesterday we had free lunch at work. I loaded up - it was salad with grilled chicken, rolls and cookies - but that was the only meal i ate yesterday. I did eat four cookies. Now I'm really hungry and a little shaky - I biked to work for the first time today. I'll drink some coffee and see but I may be eating breakfast today (I usually don't eat anything until lunch.)

I went out to dinner with some friends last night and had a little more sushi and bites of cheesecake that took me over, but it was worth it. Looking forward to some scale movement over the next couple of days. Not sure if TOM is responsible for this stall or the sodium on Sunday. I've been pretty active this week but characteristically terrible about water intake. I'm going to try and get on the treadmill tonight. I love running but haven't been feeling inspired to go lately. Not sure why. I'm hoping to do a 10k at the end of July and marathon in December, but I really need to get with the plan now to be successful. |
nicoley73: Nice drop! I hope you're able to get something to eat so you feel steadier over the course of your day -- I think maybe eating something a little earlier than usual today is probably a good idea!
Joe: Since the beginning of this month, it has been at 12pm! (It was 1pm before then, but I moved my IF window so I could eat a little earlier in the day and with my husband at his usual lunch hour.) I usually wait to weigh-in until right before my first meal of the day instead of first thing in the morning. And, I hope you're able to get your roof replaced soon! Good work on your food and walks. :) SnowMama: I'd bet all that extra activity is helping keep TOM at bay, as well as the lower water and sodium on Sunday, so maintaining is a good sign! I hope that means you're set to get a post-TOM whoosh for all your efforts! :goodscale: ----------------------------------------- Up just a smidge to 179.0, which is less of a gain than I was expecting. I was a little slower on the water yesterday and didn't end up getting in the full gallon before I was nodding off and had to take myself to bed without finishing it. So, I only got in about 3 liters and weighed in at my normal time today, so only going up 0.2 is a surprise. Hoping that means I will get to move back down again tomorrow after a normal day today! :crossed: Week Three 15: 179.8 16: 178.8 17: 179.0 18: 19: 20: 21: ---------------------------- End of Week Two: 179.4 Total Loss for Week Three: |

I think I will start another one in the next week or so. Nice drop!! Great job biking to work! I hope that the shaky feeling subsided after the coffee.
momtopands- Keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts and prayers. flower- I am glad that your motivation is coming back! I think mine is too!! Nice drop! How much water did you up it to? joe Welcome back!! ange I tend to lose inches when the scale isn't cooperating, maybe that is what is happening to you! I hope that you have a fun time at the ball! Congrats on going down another size! Thank you for your motivation, it means a lot! ophelia nice drop the other day! I bet you are right that you will see a good drop tomorrow!! I have been struggling on the water intake for the past couple days. I am sick and water just doesn't taste good right now. I ended up winning the diet bet by 2/10 of a lb. I got super lucky!! snowmama Your dinner out sounded fantastic!! I bet that the same weight is due to TOM and that you will get a nice whoosh soon! Hey everyone,
I realize that it's pretty late into the month but hopefully it's not too late to join. I'm currently at 136.6 and ideally would like to get down to 125 for my run in July. However, I'll be perfectly happy with a 2.6 lbs goal for the rest of this month :) 5/17: 136.6 |
kfunk congrats for getting back to where you were! Now on to your next monthly goal! And thank you for the continued prayers for my daughter. She's still there and needs to be for now. Good news is that my job has been very proactive and is starting intermittent FMLA so when she gets home if I need to stay with her I can and just use my vacation time. If it's longer than 2 straight weeks I will use my short term disability which is up to 6 months. I'm hoping I won't need to use all that time though.

Good morning everyone - sounds like there is a combo of struggles and wins. I hope everything goes well for everyone. It's tough.
I am starting to get back into the groove now that we are more settled. A lot of expats here and they love to party! Something going on all the time. Also a lot of great bands and there are bands every night / day. We have our fav's that we like to see so we spend a lot of time at bars. Sun afternoon, Mon night, Wed afternoon, Fri and Sat night. Tues and Thurs are the days we have chosen to be people / band free and so I will return to my fasting days on those days. I did learn a very valuable lesson that day drinking and eating a salad only for lunch is not a good idea. Salad does nothing to soak up the alcohol - LOL. But I have gotten myself back into waiting until at least 4 pm and when at the bar eat real food. But some beach bars only serve fried foods .... Tonight it's a pool / pizza party at a friends house. My plan is not to have a drink until pizza is served. I must control this to get a grip on weight loss. My husband has decided to lose weight also so it's nice having someone else doing it also. Thank you for the welcome everyone. Weight was down today but I think it's due to lack of water yesterday. I did quite a bit of cardio yesterday at the gym but forgot my water bottle so I was drinking only when I absolutely had to. Check out boot camp hub on youtube. There are some free videos on there! I'm still hanging around the same weight I have been for a couple of weeks. This is the first day I've been on plan with the right number of calories so hopefully i'll make some progress soon. On a positive note my I visited my daughter this evening and we ended up talking about how she's feeling and she asked me a lot of questions. Nicoley same - I went out drinking last night too and chose not to stand on the scales this morning! Saturday was good calories-wise, but Friday I also went out for a drink and a meal. I was fed up of the plateau thing happening and definitely not wanting to reduce calories as a way to solve it, so decided that a 'normal persons night out' would be suitable to jump-start things a bit. Unfortunately (possibly no big surprise here) it resulted in me putting on another 1.5lb by Saturday morning. Then after the good day on Saturday, i'd lost half of that again by Sunday morning, but then went out again and haven't weighed since. Anyway it's Monday, and I really want to get UNDER 56kg, still, so happy i've had a good weekend but the plan now is to knuckle down again this week and see what happens. Clothes-wise etc i'm perfectly happy - this is just an illogical-number-on-scale thing, but I have to say i'm very thankful that I didn't have any plateaus like this whilst I was in proper losing-mode. It's pretty unmotivating!!
Hope everyone else has had a good weekend and emerged feeling positive about the coming week. Seems like things are tad quiet at the mo. |
Hope everyone's having a great weekend. I've had really good weather so far this weekend and have been enjoying myself so far. I sustained a tiny muscle injury yesterday so I'll be taking it easy the next few days. That probably means that I'll experience a bump up as well. But I'll make up for it with extra running once I'm good to go.

Kfunk I am very glad too that my daughter seems to be making an effort no matter how small. As far as my calories it has me down to 1700, I started at almost 1850 and this is based on losing 1 lb per week, I put in 1.5 lb per week but that would drop me down to 1450 per day and I haven't had too many days like that so I decided to try and stay about halfway between at 1550-1600. So far I have had drops so maybe this is the answer to getting past this point.

some good news stories here :)
Well done momtopands, snowmama, Ophelia, chub, kfunk on losing well this week, nicoley you're back to the grindstone too! Ophelia - your new dragonfly is really really impressive. absolutely amazing achievement by you - you're very inspiring and are such a good role model for everyone here. Just me letting the side down at the moment then! Feeling committed (not enthusiastic perhaps), but keen to stick to the plan and see what story the scales decide to tell me this week. Me and the scales are not as close as we used to be right now. I'm prepared to negotiate but they're being a bit over the top and slightly unreasonable if you ask me....... |
Still sticking around - despite peeing out about a gallon of water yesterday. I did eat some very salty food last night. We go out to a BBQ place on Mondays sometimes to play trivia. Last night we won - which very rarely happens! So it was worth not seeing a drop on the scale this morning.
Great job Ophelia - it's so impressive how much weight you have lost! Ange - it's super hard when you get skinny! I would just be patient and consistent if you can.
